        200.5-20-18-18=$144.5 if all goes right.

        • Did your transaction tracked in SB? Mine is not tracked.

    • Did you have a Coles acc already? I had an existing acc and started a 1 month trial of Plus with my Westpac card. Would that be enough to get the new customer bonus?

      • +1

I made a new account as my previous account had been used.. I believe its only 1% base cashback if you have used your Coles account b4 but still a 10% for Wespac bonus

  • Ordered one. Thank you op

  • +1

    premium refurbished

    What does that mean?

    • +2

my experience with premium refurb is it looks brand new but is not technically new. Comes in plain box, just the basics like a cable and instructions. Battery is not 100% but usually still good. Once you throw away the box it looks brand new. In my experience anyway.

    • +1

      means very refurbished

  • +5

Just noticed on Cashback that code NEW give $10 off as well.

    • +1

      for click and collect only

  • Worth a go at this price for a back-up / travel phone. Thanks OP

  • +1

Thanks OP recently lost my keys and it was a bad experience. Been looking for tracking solution and airtags seem to the most reliable solution but android user. Been on the market for iPhone 8 and was close to paying $200 plus….this deal has come in nick of time.

    • Keep in mind XR does not have UWB, so it won't give you a precise location with your airtag. I have one, but I setup all my airtags to my wife's iPhone that supports UWB.

      • Ios17 will finally bring airtag sharing

      • Thanks for the insight. Ideally I would have got an iPhone 11 which I believe has Uwb but they are all a bit to dear for my use case. The xr will hopefully get me close to any lost items in future and then hopefully I can rely on the "play sound" feature.

        • I was able to get close enough at the airport using ipad pro which doesnt have UWB, tracking a carry on luggage accidentally left after exiting the gate during a layover.

Waste: Tile Pro has led with BT trackers & easily 1 of the best alternatives to an AirTag. has impressive range of 122m (lucky if you get 1/2 distance on airTag) & loud ring to help you locate the tracker. Metal build & IP67, it's probably the most durable tracker on the market & works with all devices with large network to track. I have 2020 Tile Mate ($19.95, was down to $13.45 JB HiFi)

      • Agree! AND you can find your PHONE by using the TILE tag in reverse!!
        Even on silent it rings….
        I love TILE.
you can’t buy TILE PRO which is the best as longest range, loudest ring and replaceable battery any more on Oz tile page. (It’s because of the safety issue as cr2032 batteries)
But you can buy Amazon or from NZ - they have 400ft line of sight Bluetooth.
And now have QR code on PRO tiles so can message you if find keys/bag/purse.
        Can share too -
I’m linked to my mums TILE tags in Ireland and one day received a msg about them.
Supermarket customer service scanned the QR code . I called mum and told her her keys were at the customer service desk.
I have a TILE MATE on my glasses string holder as I constantly put down glasses or phone in big house and so can find ph/glasses as needed long as I have one in my hand (or use the TILE pro on keys - or one in purse)

They also have the “notify” if left behind.

  • Am I right in assuming that since iOS 17 dropped support for iPhone 8 (2017), XR (2018) should at least get iOS 18?

  • +1

Pleasantly surprised, had the option of "Rapid" delivery for free, was delivered 2 hours after I'd ordered!

    • Very nice. What condition is the phone in? And did you get a good battery % ?

      • 93% and just a few minor slight screen scratches, nothing noticeable without on a specific angle, pretty stoked

  • currently have an oppo a96. It's very underwelming and the camera quality is not very good. Would this be a decent upgrade? Also looking to change to apple.

    • +1

If nothing else it's a good way to get used to the ecosystem without spending 1k+ and gives you an idea of whether you even want to stick with Apple after. You could probably sell it for minimal loss online should you eventually upgrade anyway

  • +2

Guys I am trying to sign up for the one month trial but I am getting the mastercard verfication code and it looks like its trying to charge me right away even though I have never subscribed to coles plus. Anyone know why?

    • +1

This is just to verify your card details, a two factor authentication that could be required by coles, your bank or mastercard themselves. I've had it happen with both visa and Mastercard debit cards. It should tell you on the window that asks for the code if it is charging anything.

      • It reads the following on the verification window even though at checkout it says that I won’t be charged for the first month

For your added protection, this transaction requires authentication.
We have sent the secure code in a text message to ********339
You are paying Merchant: Coles Online the amount of 19.00 AUD on 09-08-2023 from Card ************8026 .

        • +1

Then it will probably trigger a transaction. Did you click the correct link to claim the 1 month free trial? The FAQ at the bottom of the page says you have to click the specific link to get the trail.

        • +2

I had the same thing when I started the 1 month Coles Plus trial today.
It reads as $19 being charged but once you click submit the confirmation message says it will deduct the $19 in September.
Just ensure you cancel Coles Plus before the date on the confirmation window and you won't pay a thing!

Ordered and tried to track with ShopBack as well. Thanks :)

    Edit: Shopback track $2.99

  • I only have $2.99 pending cashback :(.

  • Does Coles send you a notification when it is ready to pickup?

  • Shopback works for non westpac customers. I got $2.99 cashback

    • it should be 10%? or have you placed coles orders before

      • +1

        10% for first orders

  • Thanks OP, ordered one for delivery. I haven't had good experience with Coles in the past. They usually cancel the orders as the items are not in stock. Lets see

  • -3

    Why I got $59.90 cashback from Shopback? I thought it's only 10%?

    • Looks it’s tracked for $599. Same for me but it will change later I think

      • +1

Ah ok, hope they don't muck up the cashback amount later

  • -1

Ordered one for delivery tomorrow but forgot to create a flybuys account for the extra points oops. Let's see if it actually shows up.

  • WA, signed up for the free trial of plus, still seeing $599 for the XR.

    • It will show only on checkout page

      • Odd. Thanks … oh wait, plus paper bag takes it over $200. Sounds way more expensive now :) But kid's birthday sorted.

  • Thanks Op. Each cousin bought 1. Total 12 fons.

    • +1

You know, each cousin can buy two? Fewer cousins needed that way.

  • Hopefully order won’t be cancelled . Sometime coles backend system not showing proper stock availability and getting order cancelled next day.

  • grabbed one. cheers. hopefully doesn't get cancelled but if it does ill get one delivered

  • +2

    Something went wrong
Sorry, we couldn't place your order. Try again later, and if that doesn't work contact Customer Care.

    • Did you figure it out?
      Getting the same error

      • Just purchased, no issue.

      • Nope. Still error

        • You have to contact them, I did via chat. They'll fix it and get you to logout and log back in 10 minutes later

    • Same error for me.. tried multiple locations :(

    • +1

Problem with account.. created another one on wife’s email and worked . i was able to order

  • Does paying with gift card void the cashback?

    • +3

I dnt think you can pay with gift card in coles online

      • Ok thanks for that.

  • +2

One of the best phones I have ever used.

The best thing about it is how consistent it is for general use. Sometimes having a phone that relies on intermittent bursts of speed feels slower. Speed, camera, interface - jack of all trades and smooth.

The biggest concern I would have with this phone is the amount of iOS support down the road before EOL.

    • +1

Yeah it's 5 years old. Can't imagine it being supported for much longer.

My get is you are locked out of iOS updates within 12 months.

  • +1

Decent phone and good value at this price but just keep in mind this was released 5yrs ago so whilst Apple is still supporting with updates it may not be for many more years.

    • -8

keep in mind that you're wrong

      • +1

        ???
        2023 - 2018 = 5 years.
iOS 16 is available for iPhone XR = Still fully supported with updates.

        • -2

It hasn't been 5 years yet cogs.

  • +1

    great deal

  • Ordered for delivery, Shopback tracked $59.90.

  • Ok first online purchase from Coles with Westpac Debit card linked to Shopback. Purchased the Red version of this phone as a first time Coles Online user. Cashback tracked $59.90, paid $200.50 for the phone with free delivery. Cashback amount is incorrect so must be amended later.

Hope to get the 4000 pts from Coles Plus + I have 3000 pts offer in Flybuys min spend $100 for this week (Collect 3,000 bonus points plus free delivery). Hopefully they stack.

    • +1

      how you selected colour?

      • I just realised that I did not select colour. I just only clicked on the red picture and added to cart. LOL.

        • +1

          hahaha 😂

          • @backupper1: hahaha 😂 you know I literally spend hours after seeing this post deciding which colour to buy. I was so convinced that I posted such a comment!

    • code NEW would have got you a further TEN dollars off

      • Did not knew that at that time. Thanks for sharing. But that code is for click and collect only which is very notorious for cancelling orders during pickup.

  • -1

Could I buy a lot of these and resell on eBay?

    • I believe in you

      • Imma do it! Time to invest.

  • +3

On the Boost Web site this phone is $399 so you the $599 is a bit over the top.

  • +1

Just got an email for order cancelled without any reason.

    • delivery or pickup?

  • +1

PSA: iPhone XR is one of the very oldest phones to be supported for iOS 17 (2023). Not confirmed, but very likely to have support dropped and be incompatible with iOS 18 (2024).

    https://www.apple.com/ios/ios-17-preview/

  • Order cancelled

  • Shows $599 for me this morning.

    • +3

you need to subscribe to coles plus, it changes to $199 at final stages of checkout

  • Just had my pick up order cancelled this morning. Reordered for rapid delivery this morning. So far so good.
Make sure you sign up to Coles Plus (free first month) to get correct price in checkout.

  • I received the confirmation for click and collect, but missed the shopback click though. Does anyone have any idea if I can just cancel and re-order through Shopback?

    • Read above, shopback is $2.99

  • Friend desperately needs new iph but no money.
    Using iph8plus and battery stuffed.
As this device has only 64gb can he CHOOSE the apps to transfer data?
I know a full copy can be made via cloud, but is there a way via iTunes to choose what to copy to a new device ?
I’ll buy it for him as a gift if it can .
Tried finding answer online but not successful.
    Thanks

    • +1

Maybe check out the turkey icloud deals

      • Thanks but it’s about his current ph being 256gb and this 64gb
Can’t do a full copy - want to know if he can choose what transfers through iTunes ph back up - restore function?

        • Maybe ask on reddit

        • +1

          no.
solution: backup media to hdd, delete from source phone. apps etc should fit to destination.

    • +1

If you get him to turn on off-load apps, iPhone would delete apps that hadn’t been used for a while to save space, and reinstall them when you try to run them again. That could potentially save a lot of space. Music and movies are synced so he would have to have them somewhere else anyway, safe to delete. That pretty much leaves typical app data: contacts, texts, photos and videos. They are not that big for a typical user. You want to make a backup after cleaning the original phone, then it’s easy to do a restore on the new one.
