40% off First 2 Grocery Orders (Min Spend $40, Max $20 off) @ DoorDash

3260
GROCERIESDONE

Works well with the free Dashpass from this great deal.

Even better if you shop from Coles, which seems to match in-store pricing and weekly specials on Doordash.

With free delivery and 10-12% service fee, you would get approximately 30% off a $40 order delivered to your doorstep. Pretty good value considering the rising cost of living.

did this yesterday! great for baby stuff (nappies/milk powder).

but it only worked once even though it says first 2 orders. just me?

    • +1

      same here

      • +5

Same here, started a chat and they gave me a $20 credit.

        • +1

I did the same and the agent told me he can only offer $15 due to his delegation. I accepted. my extra $5….

          • @crazy5299: Same here- offered $15, I politely objected, bumped to $20

        • Tried and sadly got declined:

"Thank you for patiently waiting. As we checked further there's no reported issue with our system. Apologies but were unable to provide any compensation at this time. You can place the order if you like and then we can check and issue compensation once your promo code didn't work."

So they don't think they have an error nor any report lol

        • thanks for this, was also able to get 20 in credit

        • How did you start chat?

          • @amsaini15: Go to "Help" and "Frequently asked questions" and you can see a link there

            • @bdl: thanks all, got the $15. They processed it before I was able to protest!

        • Thanks everyone.
Received $20 credit through chat. It was $10 originally and when I mentioned discount of $20, it was increased. Agent asked for discount code

      • same here, they wanted me to checkout without the promo and then take a screenshot of the order page - then they dropped the chat. Probably won't risk it for the second order considering they seem to have NFI

        • Yeah they wanted me ready to place order before they would give the credit. I said I’ll try again later.

          • @nubzy: Lol, they just updated the chat saying I already applied a $4 discount (which was some included discount on the delivery fee which brought it down to $3.99). And then when I received the order there was an extra $1.87 credit.

            Like WTF lol

          • @nubzy: Try again now, I was just able to use it a second time after using it this morning.

            • +1

@bdl: Not showing in my app again but got $15 credit through chat applied to next order. asked for screenshot but processed the credit even before I could upload the screenshot. Had to reduce my order from $50 to $40 to keep it close to 40% discount.

  • +10

I can confirm their back end logic isnt that smart. The code is only valid for first grocery order. not first two

    • +1

Possibly different stores, not the same one

      • Nope - just verified, code "not eligible for account" after first use, irrespective of second grocery store

  • -1

    Targetted
    Not working on my account

    • +2

only if your account havent made a grocery order

  • +2

Exactly what I was planning on doing with the new free trial. I also got an email with another offer for the exact same thing using code SHOPDONTDROP. As you say OP, works nicely in combo with Coles' weekly specials.

  • +3

Thanks, OP! Got lots of berries for the kids. They’ll be so happy.

  • anyone know if they still honour the discount if things are OOS? Going to try my luck ordering some of our specialty dietary items that are often sold out.

    • +6

      yes, it will.

If you order $40, with 40% off = $16 off.

If $24 worth of item OOS, you will get your order for free

    • +2

In my experience with a few orders, yes they do, seems to work out as a higher % discount when it happens too. I actually purposefully ordered a couple of items I thought might be unavailable (making sure to select refund option, no substitutes) and worked out well.

      • How can I select refund option in the app and what are some stuff that's usually sold out? Coles near me usually runs out of meat and fmilk but other than that most stuff are in stock

        • Theres a point in the app where it asks you if you want substitutions or refunds of each item you have added

          • @PropertyPig: Can you clarify where to find the option? I reached the Google Pay payments page, but it wasn't prompted.

            • @mohankumar807: I didnt see the option on doordash website too, dunno if it was nested somewhere.
While the dasher was in store shopping around, it didn't seem to show either

              • -1

@payton: A word of caution to my fellow Ozbargainers.

It seems that Doordash doesn't offer that option. In case of any substitutions or incorrect items, we can request a refund but only for the price difference between the missing item and the substitute.

            • @mohankumar807: I checked the app again but I can't screenshot it as it seems like if you have done an order and you just continue along there was an option for me to do substitutions. It gave three options for each item, substitute, refund, contact. I found this image

            • +1

@mohankumar807: I did another order today, it automatically came up at the end of my order on if I wanted substitutions or a refund. Screenshots here:

@PropertyPig: Can't find it. I know uber have that option though.

Edited : found it. It's AFTER place order page in app (android)

  • Damn, just took advantage of the Canadian door pass offer. What's the delivery time Toronto to logan?

    • I just took advantage of that and then had this code work for me

  • +1

Doesn’t work for me. Have made 1 order a few months ago.

    • Me too, doesn't work with either of my local Coles.

  • The creative gourmet blueberries not matching in store price is kinda annoying… wish there was a way to report pricing errors :(

    • I think they must have so many pricing variants based on the receipts I get in the bags from coles vs the price I paid. No idea how the rectify it all!

    • It’s showing $2.82 on my doordash Coles store.

  • How can I collect Flybuy points if buying with Coles?

    • Why negged ? I wanna know this as well.

    • +1

Not sure if you can. From my experience with ordering through Uber Eats, it seems like the driver pockets the flybuy points.

    • +1

I would imagine the only possible way to do it is message your driver a screenshot of your flybuys barcode and see if they're happy to do it. Not sure if it would be worth the trouble.

      • +4

Giving your Flybuys barcode to a random person may not be a good idea.

A large number of Coles stores will now let you redeem 2000 Flybuys points for an instant $10 discount, and you do not need a physical Flybuys card nor any sort of verification (e.g. a PIN) to do this. What is stopping that person from using your Flybuys account again and again to claim the $10 discount each time on their own shops?

    • You can not.

      Doosdash say,

Dashers are NOT permitted to scan personal or customers Flybuys cards during Shop & Deliver orders. Doing so may result in having your eligibility for Shop & Deliver orders revoked.

      • Fair enough, I certainly wouldn't have tried it, just figured that would be the only way if anyone was desperate enough.

  • Is this targeted?

  • It's on mine (never ordered groceries before)

  • I've never ordered groceries before either and this deal worked for me. Thanks OP. Works great with dashpass.

  • +2

I just submitted an order, half of which was incorrect when I checked. Submitted the missing or incorrect items form in doordash and received a message thanking me for submitting but won't receive any refund or compensation.
I even went through the substitution or refunds on the items so there really shouldn't be any excuse.

    • It’s happened to me before too. Charged for items I didn’t want and items not received. Never got compensation even after review.

    • Happened to me as well. So annoying. They can just drop anything they think would make a substitute and add the price to your bill. This is not acceptable. Never going to order from Doordash again.

  • +2

PSA: If anyone is going to use it, make sure to screenshot the promo in the app prior to making your first order - in case you want to attempt claiming the promo for the second order

    • Thank for heads up.
I just tried to contact Customer care and they were asking for screenshot. Unfortunately, I didn't take it and they only offered me $5 credit.

Please share a screenshot if anyone has it.

      • Yea same, they didn't give me any credit tho lol

      • +10
        • Thank you very much, I am attempting to use this after making some amendments to make it more authentic, would suggest others do the same or it will be red flagged :)

They used it to 'validate my account' which was successful

"We have validated the promotion and your account qualifies for it"
"Please place the order and if the code does not work i'll manually apply it on your order as credit or refund"

          Ps. Worked, placed order fine

    • Could we all share the same screenshot of the offer?

  • anyone who used the website to order Coles grocery, did you notice if there was a 'substitute/refund this item' selector before you pay for the order … didn't see it yesterday.

    • I looked and couldn't find one on website. On a similar note, can anyone guide me as to where the 'substitute/refund this item' is on the Android app? Maybe it's because I loaded the cart on browser and then tried to edit it using the app, but I couldn't find that option.

      • +2

A word of caution to my fellow Ozbargainers.

It seems that Doordash doesn't offer that option. In case of any substitutions or incorrect items, we can request a refund but only for the price difference between the missing item and the substitute

        • +3

@payton, @AlexeiNavalny @mohankumar807 you get the option after you place the order.

          • @ufwpd: @ufwpd thanks heaps. Coles and Woolworths have these selectable before ppl pay so that threw me off.

GROCERIESDONE code now works a 2nd time also.

  • -1

A word of caution to my fellow Ozbargainers.

It seems that Doordash doesn't offer the option to select refunds instead of substitutes for a missing item (only uber seems to offer that option). In case of any substitutions or incorrect items, we can request a refund but only for the price difference between the missing item and the substitute

    • I saw the refund option in my order.

    • I just got refunded for items not in stock because I chose the refund option. It worked out better for me because I still retain the 40% discount on the original amount not the amount after refund.(hence bigger discount than 40%)

      • When does refund options pop out?
Have nothing but Place order at final screen.

        • At least for Coles, there is no such option displayed on the web or app.

        • +2

You can change your preferences after placing the order.

        • When i selected an item "likely out of stock" it popped up with the option to choose what to do if it's out of stock

  • The promotion cannot be applied to this order. Please remove or use another promotion code.

I am getting this error when checking out with Coles. :(

    • did you order groceries or from Coles b4 this? Could be why.

      • No recent orders.

  • promotion is expired.

    • +1

      No it's not

  • Where do you enter the code? Is it at check out

  • I am targetted but don't know what to buy. Do you shop normally like in store or anything specifically to avoid like fruits and stuff require picking?

I bought some cans from Woolies and they had dents on it, I never buy any grocery online again since that time

    • I usually do a normal shop - have a look in the fridge to see what I need e.g. cheese, meat and ice cream etc. Even with fresh produce the quality is pretty good from my experience.

    • I went through the Coles catalogue and looked at items which were on sale. Also picked some items that never go on sale.

I prefer to pick my own produce but that’s personal preference.

  • Damn, I’ve ordered groceries before. So didn’t work :(

  • +1

Sadly my account ineligible, just have the spend $40 get $10 discount at Liquorland :(

  • Weekly groceries done. Thanks op

  • +1

Coles is up for a fight against Woolies's Milkrun.
    I love competition!!!!

  • +1

Coles should pack orders for the Dasher to collect and I reckon orders would get delivered a lot quicker from DoorDash as I notice in my area it takes over an hour for a Dasher to deliver my order due to the fact they have to do the shopping too and this is the part I always feel bad for the Dasher.

If a Dasher sees this post how much do you get paid to do the person's shopping and delivery? I know it's probably not much but I'm curious.

    • +1

Then Coles is going to have to get a cut of the fee, they aren't going to support a service outside of Click And Collect unless they're getting paid for it. And I doubt they would even bother to accommodate DoorDash.

A more more practical solution to your suggestion would be DoorDash incorporating a Click And Collect order through the Coles website, but I think that defeats the purpose of the whole DoorDash service product.

      • You wouldn't happen to know how much they exactly get paid to do people's shopping? Shit has been scratching at me for many months. I'd love an answer.

Knowing DoorDash it's probably less than 5$ and that's including doing the shopping and delivery which is honestly disgusting.

Also back years ago (More than 15 years ago) when I was a kid doing shopping with my mother back in the day Coles actually used to do the shopping and leave the bags at the front of the supermarket for a delivery driver to collect the order and delivery it to the person. I'm not sure if Coles still does something like this to this day but if not they should go back to doing it for DoorDash Dashers it would make their lives so much easier as all they'd have to do is collect the order and leave.

        • Coles has Click And Collect where you order online (and I think you can also do it over the phone) and you nominate a time and you go to the store to collect your order.

Coles will have already picked everything out for you and put it in bags (or no bags = boxes I think is an option ) and you can either collect it from the Service Desk or they can bring it out your car. Even deliver it contactless into your boot.

    • Yesterday I did a Coles delivery on Doordash for $15. I can't remember how long it took but it was a tiny order with only a couple items all close together. They had also ordered from a Liquorland store that wasn't next to the Coles. That added probably 10 minutes to Liquorland and then < 10 after to their house? The Liquorland order paid an extra $13 on top.

I did a different Coles order a few days ago for $25. That was a bigger order, but still not large. They were basically ordering dinner with some snacks. After leaving the store they were about 15 minutes away.

And interestingly because I pay for the Coles orders with a card Doordash gives me saved on my phone I can still see what Coles got paid. That first order was $14 and the second was $33.

  • Code has vanished and no longer supported, I had everything in my cart but forgot to do it this morning, so I missed out :(

    • You're right. I didnt even get a chance to place an order myself lol
