  • Would you happen to ship to Singapore? Interested in the EU sim for our trip in a few weeks but we're already overseas.
Already using Aussie sim as my esim :(

    • +1

      Hey @Tinky Winky

We don't ship to Singapore unfortunately! Even though you've got your Aussie eSIM in, just in case it might come in handy, I'll pop the links to our EU eSIMs here ๐Ÿ˜Š

      -Anna

  • Does SIMdirect provide any way to track the remaining balance of data in the sims?

    • Hey @Johan92912 ๐Ÿ‘‹

Each of the SIMs will have their own process to check the data balance depending on what network its with. It's listed out step by step in all of our SIM guides though so it's super simple to do ๐Ÿ˜Š

      -Anna

      • Hi Anna, thanks for your comment - I know it might be an obvious question, but can the Tourist SIM Card for
120 Countries be activated in Australia?

        • No worries! And yep, this one can be activated in Australia (can be activated in any of the countries on the 'Where does it Work' list)

  • +2

Prices aren't competitive - you can find much better deals on esimdb.com if you're after an esim.

    • Just spot checked a few and the suggested site is more expensive than for these sales prices.

      • Ah good to know @Ade99 - thanks for info!! ๐Ÿค™

        -Anna

    • Hey @nerdinary

Yep, depending on where you're off to on your travels, it's always good to have a look around and see what's out there! ๐Ÿ˜Š
      -Anna

  • Sorry if it's been asked before, but can you load up two eSIMs on one phone (eg keep my Aussie one and load one for Europe)? Or is it best to do one physical and one eSIM? Phone is Pixel 7 Pro.

    • +1

      Hey @dammitjay

      I've done a bit of investigation ๐Ÿง
Seems the Pixel 7 Pro does allow two eSIMS so you're in luck! Just a heads up though, it's not possible to have both eSIMs active at the same time.

      Hope that helps!

      -Anna

  • +1

If I buy it now (e-sim) , can i use it tomorrow?

    • Hey @lonewolf

      Yep, you absolutely can!
Most of our eSIMs have a super simple QR scan setup so will be ready to go once you land

Save travels & happy adventures โœˆ๏ธโค๏ธ

      -Anna

      • Hi Anna, How long does it take to arrive, it said immediately but Its been about 20 minutes so far with nothing.

        • Hi, Apparently i ordered a standard sim and not e-sim, I have sent through a request to cancel that order and have ordered a e-sim now.

          • @lonewolf: Wonderful @lonewolf - I'll follow up with the team to make sure it's sorted

  • +1

Been waiting for this deal, just in time! Thank you!

    • Hey @JHoliday

Amazing! Glad to hear it was perfect timing ๐Ÿ˜Š

      Thanks for the love!โค๏ธ

      -Anna

    • Hey @hatchy

Hmm that doesn't sound right at all! Can you shoot your order number through to our live chat or email us at [email protected] and the team will sort this one out for you!

      -Anna

  • Have used the physical SIMs from here a few times, the only problem I have with them is no SMS - which means I can't use Grab as they will only send SMS to local numbers. Otherwise, connections for data have been fine (Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore).

Grab is the Asian version of Uber.

    • Hey @pgcs

All of our Asian SIMs are data only, yes - we have had customers report they've had great success using virtual numbers to access things like Grab though which can be super useful - just something to keep in mind! ๐Ÿ˜Š

      -Anna

      • How do you use/get virtual numbers as I want to use Grab?

  • Do you have esim for Thailand that is 5G?

    • Hey @Piyopiyo

All of our eSIMs for Thailand are currently operating on 4G ๐Ÿ˜Š We use the DTAC & China Unicom networks and have had some pretty good feedback about connectivity & speeds from our customers!

      -Anna

  • I used this for two different countries and they were China Telecom (Hong Kong?) SIMs with international roaming. Although the performance was fine, it created complications on my phone as various aspects of operation ran as if I were in Hong Kong. When trying to buy things on websites the prices were forced to HKD. And I couldn't sign up for various local apps as it was a Hong Kong phone number. Please be aware of this if you are expecting a seamless experience. Wouldn't use again based on this.

    • +1

User installs a Hong Hong sim with a Hong Kong phone number, and complains that the phone thinks he's in Hong Hong- lol. Use a VPN in future connected to the country you want to be in

      • Well No actually. I requested sims for countries other than Hong Kong. Its a hongkong sim card provided with the country you asked for written on the card in black marker.

    • Which country did you go to?

      • Not hong kong on either occasion lol.

        • I read itโ€™s a Chinese company so they will sms in Chinese for set up. Did you find it ok? Itโ€™s Hong Kong based because they donโ€™t allow eSIM in China?

  • I am pretty sure i clicked on e-sim but apparently i ordered the normal sim, how do i cancel and order the e-sim?

    • Hey @lonewolf

If you jump onto our live chat & give the team your order number they'll be able to help you out ๐Ÿ˜Š

      -Anna

      • I did that an hour and a half ago, I havent heard back yet.

        • The team are just super busy right now with all the emails coming through from the sale ๐Ÿ˜Š Feel free to shoot me your order number via DM here as well and I'll make sure it gets actioned

  • Hi, I m going to Europe/UK/HK this Dec. Is the Europe 10GB plan including international calls/texts made in Europe/UK? Can I forward my local Aussie nbr to this Europe sim?

    • Hey @Cindy629au

Yup, it sure does! A couple of things to keep in mind though - you'll only be able to make calls & texts to UK landlines & mobiles whilst in the UK and
calls & texts to European numbers in any of the other European countries in the coverage map.
It does not come with calls or texts when you're outside of Europe or the UK. It'll be data-only!

You won't be able to forward your local number, but you will get a brand new number with the SIM ๐Ÿ˜Š

      -Anna

  • hello Team, I just purchased this and realized this one doesnt cover Switzerland. Can someone pls confirm if this is right? thanks

    • Hey @goldenstarkboy

      Which SIM is it?

      • it's 19gb 28 days 45 countries. Can I just cancel and re order the 12gb and 71 countries instead? Thanks

        • Ah I see - yes unfortunately with this one it does not cover Switzerland. If you shoot your order number over to the team via our live chat they'll be able to get you sorted. Feel free to drop me a DM here as well and I'll follow it up ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • Can I activate in Australia, prior to leaving, or do I need to land in the country first?
I tried so far, but it says "activating" (spinning wheel.. iPhone 13)
The website implies it will be "ready when you are" which is why I thought that.

    • If you're travelling to say USA, how can you connect to a USA network here in Australia? It will work when you connect to the network in the country when you arrive

    • Hey @Pidim

That's right - for most SIMs you'll need to be in one of the countries listed in the coverage map in order for it to connect and activate. Which SIM are you using?

      -Anna

  • Price chart is wrong for NZ 30 days unlimited. Chart says $59.25 but website says $63.75.
The other 2 NZ SIM prices are correct.

    • +1

Almost 4 hours since I made this inquiry with their chat team and no reply, yet they replied to other comments that are far newer. The level of customer service concerns me.

    • Hey @trainingwheelz

Good catch! The price was indeed not set correctly - thanks heaps for flagging ๐Ÿ˜Š We've fixed it up now & it should match the website price.

Let me know if there is anything else we can do to help!

      -Anna

  • Is there an activation deadline for the Japan e-sim? Usually it has a limit of 45 days after receiving the email with the QR on it. Can you please confirm?

    • Hey @sares!

Nope, no deadline for the activation on these eSIMs ๐Ÿ˜Š

      -Anna

  • Had problems with the esim in Italy. Few emails back and forth and a manual switch of network and itโ€™s working.

    Great customer service/ support.

    • Hey @hatchy

Amazing to hear & thanks for the love! โค๏ธ

Have an awesome time in Italy!! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ

      -Anna

  • With all due respect the Europe + UK sim was pretty rubbish for me in November last year throughout most of continental Europe (since it was really just a UK sim). Worked like a charm in Iceland though for some reason!

    • Hey @dotminette

Oh no! Sorry to hear you ran into some issues with the SIM. Was it just coverage or something else? The EU/UK SIMs connect to local networks across the countries in the coverage map and it usually isn't a problem so would be keen to find out more.

Glad to hear you success in Iceland though!!

      -Anna

  • Just got 2 eSims for our europe trip leaving next Friday. Perfect timing!

    • Hey @Cohey

      Love to hear it!

      Have an amazing adventure! โค๏ธ

      -Anna

  • Hi there,

Sorry if this question or a similar one has been asked.

I'm looking at buying the South East Asia SIM Card 10GB | Data-Only | 30 Days eSim, but I am not intending to travel until 2024. I can't find an activation by date on your website. I assume that there isn't one, and this eSim will work in 2024 if purchased now?

    • Hey @John Stone

Nope, this eSIM does not have an expiry date or an activation deadline so if you grab it now it will be ready when you are โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š
      -Anna

      • Hi I bought this eSIM card and will be travelling in December. So do I need to do anything else or is the esim ready to go once I land in SE Asia?

        • From my experience, you need to activate it here in Australia, or you can activate it when you land. If you choose to activate it when you land, you just need an internet connection. Airport wifi/Starbucks wifi is fine, but it just depends on what is available.

  • If I buy today, when do you think I will receive? Iโ€™m in Melbourne.

    • Hey @1bargain

Australia Post shipping times are :

Standard Shipping (free): 4-7 business days
Express Shipping ($7.99): 1-2 business days

So if you're leaving soon, I'd grab the Express Post just to be on the safe side ๐Ÿ˜Š

      -Anna

      • Thanks

        • no worries!!! ๐Ÿ™

  • I activated the E-sim last night, The internet / data wasnt working till i did the APN fix / setting manually (3gnet). But I noticed the speeds are really crap, and its always only connecting at LTE . I did a speed test and it says China Unicom as the e-sim / provider, And the network they use for roaming is Dtac in Thailand . But the speeds i was getting was like 20Mbps down and 5 Mbps Up, When i get a local DTAC sim or the other providers Sims, I get much better speeds than that.

    • It is one of the downsides of these sims as they are roaming sims. China Unicom is the provider, but they roam to whatever the specific local carrier is. Therefore, yes there will be some speed loss. 20Mbps should be ok for most uses though?

  • Hi there southeast asia 13 countries 10gb 30days sim sold outโ€ฆ when you will have them in stock again? Thx

    • Hey there @SumTingRon

These ones should be in stock now : SE Asia 10GB ๐Ÿ˜Š

      -Anna

    • Hey @Raiyu298

Good catch! It is actually 12 countries - we've updated the website now ๐Ÿ˜Š

      -Anna

  • Bought 2 of these for our trip to Vietnam.

One worked seamlessly the other not working at all which is frustrating. Support has been difficult and slow.

Can't get it to work on my Google 6 and support articles haven't helped.

    • Hey @djboonie

Glad to hear you've had success with one of the SIMs - do you want to shoot through your order number by DM and I'll check out what's happening? Our Support team are a little under the pump right now due to the sale but they'll definitely get back to you shortly ๐Ÿ™

      -Anna

      • OzBargain won't let me as I am overseas…

        Lol

  • Hi, looking at South East Asia sim card.

I have a dual sim phone. Is it ok to insert the sim card in my phone before I leave Australia? Will it automatically activate when I land in Singapore?

    I'm going to Singapore/Bali

    • Hey @JavaJoe

We always recommend you pop it into your phone when you land - just to avoid any activation issues. Once you land in Singapore, you turn on data roaming & restart your phone. Easy Peasy ๐Ÿ˜Ž

      -Anna

  • Is the Hong Kong sim out of stock? 404 error.

    • Hey @tangcla

      At the moment, yes

But you can check out these ones - they all work in Hong Kong! ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฐ

      -Anna

  • @SimsDirect Thanks for the deal!

Tried stacking the multi sim code as I bought 6x but no dice..

    • Hey there @GLO - that's no good! Can you shoot through your order number and we'll get it sorted out for you ๐Ÿค™

      -Anna

  • Hi @SimsDirect, any recommendations for my upcoming trip to HK and China for 24 days? Thanks.

  • Has this run out of stock for Europe? Followed the link for the 12GB and it's showing as $35

    • Finished yesterday

      • Damn, wish it popped up in the regular deals section.

O well, thanks for letting me know

  • Same - I thought the deal expired today, but the prices seem to have gone back to full price?

    • I think when the deal was entered the rep put the wrong date on the deal expiry (todayโ€™s date) which is a bit unfortunate.

      • Yeah, I saved the date and forgot about it, then got the reminder today….one day too late :(
Oh well! Fingers crossed for another sale before I go!

  • Sim-tember deal is already over?
Two more weeks to go this month!! ๐Ÿ˜…

Any idea when the next sale will be on?
Iโ€™ve got a trip coming up!!

  • Just a heads up. Bought my eSim a month ago then flying out today so tried to set it up and it says invalid code! Watch out on this. The stress of it not working when you need it to is bad when you want it all smooth sailing. No one responds on the โ€œliveโ€ chat and email is a generic email response

    @SimsDirect

    • I hope thats not my experience.

Bought 6x e-sims for a friday night departure.

      Watching the replies here

    • Hey @CBHunter

Totally get that it can be stressful when you just need things to work! Fortunately, that particular 'invalid code' error message will pop up because you have to land in one of the countries covered by the eSIM before activation, not because of anything wrong with the eSIM ๐Ÿ˜Š

I can see that Chlark in our support team has reached out to you as well so hope we've got you covered but just shoot a reply back if you need any more help! Have a safe flight! โœˆ๏ธ

      -Anna

      • Hey @SimsDirect, am now in Denmark and tried it here and still giving me error messages. No one replies on email nor live chat. Have also scanned using QR code and still have issues saying unable to activate and contact provider. Have done all the instructions and my phone is Iphone 14 that allows esim. So both qr code scanning nor manual adding isnโ€™t working! Have asked for a new QR code/instruction but you seem not to want to send it out. Am wondering why?!?

        • Omg, they said theyโ€™ll send a new QR code but they sent the exact same QR code back. Pls sort out correctly @SimsDirect? Weโ€™ve already established that the current one isnโ€™t working and you sent the exact same thing

          • @CBHunter: Hey @CBHunter!

I can see that you've been sent a brand new eSIM ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hopefully you're all good to go now but if you do need any further help, please make sure to let the support team know as they're there to help!

            -Anna

          • @CBHunter: Just circling back here. After a few to and fro, finally got a new QR code and working. Thanks @SimsDirect!

For the others though, i think messaging here when you have issues seem to have faster feedback from the sims direct team than emails or live chats.

            • @CBHunter: Hey @CBHunter

Glad to hear it's all been sorted! These messages aren't monitored round the clock but our support team are available between 8am-midnight M-S so your best bet is to always reach out to the guys to lend a hand.

Hope you have an amazing trip!

              -Anna

  • Hi. I need support for a problem with a recent Sim purchase. I can't find a support number and website live chat isn't responsive.

I've just DMd you @SimsDirect. Please help if you can.

    • Hey there @smartblaa!

No problems at all, I can see you've sent through a live chat to the team a little earlier today and they are on it as we speak ๐Ÿ˜Š You can expect to see something come through in the next 10-15!

      -Anna

      • @SimsDirect there has been no reply on the livechat nor email and itโ€™s been over 10-15 mins then the chat says itโ€™s gonna close in 20+ minutes.

        • Hey @CBHunter - I can see your email is being actioned by the team now. We're around until midnight or so, so please respond to the support chat if need be - they'll be there to help! ๐Ÿ˜Š
