Trade-in an Eligible Mobile and Receive a Bonus $300 Discount Coupon for a Google Pixel Series @ JB Hi-Fi

3520

Assuming you have some device to trade in, JB Hifi via the SquaretradeUP platform is offering a bonus $300 coupon for the Pixel series. Not sure if it's meant for Pixel 8, but the code works for a Pixel 7a and Pixel 7 series. Campaign Period: 12 Sept 23 - 27 Sept 23

For example - if you trade in a phone worth $160, you'll get:

  • $160 JB Gift Card that you can spend on anything as your trade-in credit
  • $300 Discount Code on a "Pixel Series" phone

Assuming you were spending it on a Pixel 7 device, you'd pay $699 (JB's listed price) - $300 (bonus coupon) - $160 (JB GC) = $239

Given JB is matching the Google Store deals, the prices below are what you'd pay post $300 discount

* Google Pixel 7 Pro 5G 128GB for $899 - $300 = $599 price now back up to $999
* Google Pixel 7a 5G 128GB for $749 - $300 = $449 - ask JB to price match Google Store and pay $349
* Google Pixel 7 5G 128GB for $699 - $300 = $399 price now back up to $899

Copypaste from the bonus trade in coupon section:

Trade-in orders cancelled during Coupon Promo, will be charged the full Trade-in value of the JB Credit eGift Card on their nominated Credit Card, regardless if the JB Credit eGift Card has not been used.

There is a limit of 1 coupon per Trade-in order.

Simply follow these 4 Steps:

  1. Get a trade-in valuation of $1.00 or more via the JB Hi-Fi Trade-in website.
  2. If you accept the valuation, and then complete the Trade-in process, you will immediately receive your JB Hi-Fi Trade-in Credit eGift card via email.
  3. In addition you are able to select the bonus coupon offer and we will send an immediate email containing your unique one-time bonus coupon code.
  4. Apply both your Trade-in Credit eGift card and bonus coupon towards the purchase of the eligible device.

    • +2

You can use gift cards with this discount code. If you price match, you can use the discount codes too as long as the link is a direct.jbhifi link and not a coupon code they generate for you

      • "If you accept the valuation, and then complete the Trade-in process, you will immediately receive your JB Hi-Fi Trade-in Credit eGift card via email"

        Does this egift code expire?
Do you have to make your purchase by September 27?

      • -1

where do i enter the discount code after price matching?

        • neevrmind found it

  • Good deal

  • Anyone know RRP of pixel 8 yet?

    • +2

Probably $100 more than the launch rrp of pixel 7

    Trade in a Mobile

Amazing, can finally trade in my Nokia 1100

    • Hahaha nope

      • +1

This makes the deal useless for most people, I have a Vivo x50 lite, bought from JB hifi, yet not supported for a trade in, let alone why this phone actually needs to be traded in, considering that its got 8gb of Ram and 128GB of space, and a hi res oled screen. Had I spent 1000 bucks on a phone, might be able to get 300 back if I was really lucky.

        • You can always "trade in" get the $300 and not trade in bit need to pay the trade in value back

          • +1

            @Poor Ass: Come again?

            • @Jackson: I've done it once before

Said I will trade in but never did… Got the discount coupon to use on a phone and trade in as gift card

Never used the trade in gift card and got auto cancelled. Got the discount coupon.

        • It's all about the brand. I got XS Max 64gb in 2019 and JB offers me $220 + $300 trade-in bonus

Could easily get a couple of hundred for it

      • +6

        On what planet ?

        • Planet marketplace

      • +3

        Definitely not

        • Do we have to return the phone to get the discount coupon or can we get the discount coupon n credit but later return the credit with out sending the phone like Samsung trade-ins

          • @Shad: Didn't Samsung bring in a fee for people who do that?

    • Wait only 1 dollar or even 300? I'm confused?

      Only select models at 300?

      • +3

it means in total, your trade in value will be $301 to subtract from the ticket price of the Pixel

        • So therefore an item which it tells me I'll get $180 would be $480 off a pixel?

          • +1
            • +1

              @BrokeCamel: Thank you.

Not bad. Just need to know if the code expires and the deal must be completed by September 27 or not.

Otherwise why not hang on to code and buy the 8, a week and a half later.

"If you accept the valuation, and then complete the Trade-in process, you will immediately receive your JB Hi-Fi Trade-in Credit eGift card via email"

          • +1

@hamwhisperer: Yes. Any device with $1 or more value will be eligible for the bonus $300 on top of that value.

  • So you can trade in a phone for $300? Then you get $300 gift card to use on anything?

    • +9

You only get $300 off on Pixel Phones not $300 Gift Card

  • +2

If I don't send the phone in, will they charge the bonus $300 on top of the trade in value of the phone?

    • I'm gonna say no, but don't take my word for it. They'll charge you only the value of the phone itself

  • +9

No, they will only charge for cost of trade in, however you will be banned from their platform for any future trade ins. I tried to take advantage of this new deal and getting the following message after submitting id:

"Sorry, we have not completed processing a previous order (1 order per time) or your account is currently on hold. Please contact us via email, if you would like us to review".

    • +3

You can email them to cancel the trade in after acquiring the new phone to avoid this. That's what I did last year with the similar Pixel 7 deal.

      • Congrats, you are probably now blacklisted 😂

        • Blacklisted for sending email or not sending email?

      • No consequences?

        • +3

None. I was still able to use the same ID to do another trade in this year (which I also cancelled).

    • Same :( Any way to overcome this?

      • +1

Politely email them to cancel the trade-in rather than ghosting them?

        • Actually there is no trade-in to cancel, maybe it was something from s23 promotion for which they had deducted the amount long back!

    • Have you emailed them then?

  • -2

I did this last year pretty much for my Pixel 5 to Pixel 7 upgrade.

Now i wonder if I should do the same again for p7 to p8 or i jump to iphone 15 pro lol

    • +11

Unless you have loads of money to spend, id see no reason to upgrade phones on a yearly basis.

    • +4

The deal ends before the pixel 8 is available and it's unclear if the code is valid for the Pixel 8

    • Yes did the same.
No point, I get every second model so wait for the 9.

    • +3

I prefer my P5 to my friends P7.

      • +1

Same but the P5 was showing it's age by the time i traded it in and the deal was awesome.
P7, nest hub, chromecast for like $199 I think

      • P5 was good alright, lighter smaller, long standby.
Had its issues like any phone.
The voice dictation (keyboard) is way better on the 7, and bit bigger screen and louder earpiece vol)

  • -1

I'm confused, I put in a spare phone I have it said $180.

Ok great, is there a BONUS 300 on that?

Like it seems an odd arbitrary number? What if I trade in an iPhone 13 max with 512gb? Surely I'd get MORE then 300?

    • +5

Trade in value + bonus $300

      • -1

Well I looked up some figures and yeah some of it is way under value (like the galaxy s8 is worth at least $100 surely, not $1)

So I wonder what on the list works out to be genuinely worth trying.

    • Phone trade then bonus coupon

      • +1

That seems crazy? As long as you find an item where the trade in value isn't unreasonably cheap.

Lasts until 27 Sept! Ahhh… And pixel 8 is coming out a week and a half later.

  • -3

This seem to be the cheapest pixel deal of all time?

    • Happens yearly

  • -4

    Google Pixel 7 5G 128GB for $399 - $300 = $99??

    • +10

No. $699 - $300 coupon value = $399 - Phone trade in value e.g if phone value for trade in is $100, then this deal only ends up costing you $299.

      • -7

if phone value for trade in is $100, then this deal only ends up costing you $299.

        No 399

    • Lol.

  • +2

Bugger. They don't take pixel 3xl

  • +2

most all the phones they accept are either new [around 1 yr old or less], or great premium phones that still stack up well for 3 year olds! so 300 bonus plus added trade ins of average $50-60 is pretty good … easy picking if you cant be stuffed selling and just want some cash for a trade-up! go-for-it!!

    • +1

Someone above literally said they take Samsung S8 lol

  • Such a shame my LG phone is never accepted for any trade in lol.

I'm considering trading in my series S. It's just a glorified media box now that I don't game much.

  • +3

Can get pixel 7 pro 256G for $659 if I trade in my Moto G82 ($90 credit). Very tempting!

    $1049-$300-$90 = $659

    • I'm trying to understand if this has been done before and if the code just outright works for all the pixel phones, including the 8 a week later?

    • +1

      no stock for 256G though.

  • +1

knew i kept my broken s7 for a reason

    • They won't take it

      • +1

but they dont ask for condition it just says straight up $1. also tried my S20 and that asks if it turns on etc

        • Good luck

          • +1

@DDman7: bitcoinorbust has a very particular set of skills. Skills that have been acquired over a very long career to trade in phones

        • I have a Apple Watch 1st gen which doesn’t switch on and they are taking it for $1. I don’t need a google phone, but, I will trade the watch and can sell the phone later for some profit?
          Am I missing anything?

        • I have s20 ultra with cracked back and front, they rejected it. I dont know what you talking about.

          • +2

@corepda: @corepda - I understand where you are coming from, when I checked my iPhone, it did ask me for the condition in the next page, but, for whatever reason, no question on the condition for the Apple Watch, it just asked the if it’s steel or aluminium and the next page it said $1 value.

    • what happens if you send a broken phone, i also have an s7 edge with broken screen. Will i be charged one dollar and banned for next deals ?

      • +8

When I sent in an old iPhone I had laying around stating it was in great condition, they said they'd give 180 for it. When they actually inspected it, they found it had 'dust in the front camera' and gave me the option to either take a lower trade in value or get the phone shipped back for free. I still kept the voucher (the bonus one, they charged me back for the phone value one) and paid no fee after all that. So basically if you say it's only slightly better than it is, they could just deem it at lower value, send it back to you for free, and you keep the voucher. I then traded it in to CeX who happily paid me $210 for it. Profit!

    • I wonder the same. I have a 'working' S8+ with a cracked/damaged front screen. It automatically values it at $1 without an option to explain the quality. I don't see why I can't use this to get the $300 bonus.

  • Z flip 4 256gb trade-in value is $450 for anyone wondering. I was considering but they're all so big!

  • +5

Dang - no trade in value for my google pixel 2…they don't know what they're missing!!

    • +2

Isn't this the one that has unlimited photo storage at full quality?

      • No, that's Pixel 1. Pixel 2 had unlimited storage at high, but not full, quality. I have a Pixel 1 that I use purely to backup my .CR3 photos to for free :D

  • IPhone 6 $0

Guess it'll never be worth a trade in.

    • I mean it was released 9 years ago…

    • My 7 plus is worth zero dollars so….

  • +14

I can trade in my pixel 7 (bought Oct. 2022) for $350.
    $300 bonus offer.

    New pixel 7: $700 - $300 - $350 = $50

$50 for a new phone sounds better than a battery change. Should I?

    • +5

If you like the phone, sure, do it.

      • Best phone I ever had. But I want to see what the pixel 8 ends up costing. I'm worried that if I wait too long, they'll reduce the trade in offer of my pixel 7. They've done that heaps of times when new generations drop. I can't wait too long, but I need to wait just long enough to see what the 8 will cost

        • +1

That's what I'm trying to work out.

Deal ends 27th September. But do you have to have purchased the new phone by then?

If not, does the code work with the 8

          • @hamwhisperer: Not certain either

            • +1

@DDman7: I'll totally do it and try an 8, despite the problems I know the 7 has had. But the pixel 7s don't interest me at all.

So I'd have a 300 voucher and no use for it.

    • plus a new phone with one year warranty
