Trade-in an Eligible Mobile and Receive a Bonus $300 Discount Coupon for a Google Pixel Series @ JB Hi-Fi

3520

Assuming you have some device to trade in, JB Hifi via the SquaretradeUP platform is offering a bonus $300 coupon for the Pixel series. Not sure if it's meant for Pixel 8, but the code works for a Pixel 7a and Pixel 7 series. Campaign Period: 12 Sept 23 - 27 Sept 23

For example - if you trade in a phone worth $160, you'll get:

  • $160 JB Gift Card that you can spend on anything as your trade-in credit
  • $300 Discount Code on a "Pixel Series" phone

Assuming you were spending it on a Pixel 7 device, you'd pay $699 (JB's listed price) - $300 (bonus coupon) - $160 (JB GC) = $239

Given JB is matching the Google Store deals, the prices below are what you'd pay post $300 discount

* Google Pixel 7 Pro 5G 128GB for $899 - $300 = $599 price now back up to $999
* Google Pixel 7a 5G 128GB for $749 - $300 = $449 - ask JB to price match Google Store and pay $349
* Google Pixel 7 5G 128GB for $699 - $300 = $399 price now back up to $899

Copypaste from the bonus trade in coupon section:

Trade-in orders cancelled during Coupon Promo, will be charged the full Trade-in value of the JB Credit eGift Card on their nominated Credit Card, regardless if the JB Credit eGift Card has not been used.

There is a limit of 1 coupon per Trade-in order.

Simply follow these 4 Steps:

  1. Get a trade-in valuation of $1.00 or more via the JB Hi-Fi Trade-in website.
  2. If you accept the valuation, and then complete the Trade-in process, you will immediately receive your JB Hi-Fi Trade-in Credit eGift card via email.
  3. In addition you are able to select the bonus coupon offer and we will send an immediate email containing your unique one-time bonus coupon code.
  4. Apply both your Trade-in Credit eGift card and bonus coupon towards the purchase of the eligible device.

@Arsh31791: Oh dear. No. They have nothing to do with what you buy from JB. That's between you and JB.
Squaretradeup as per above provide you with a AU Post sticker, so you pack your trade-in item and post it to the provided address.
The item you buy from JB is sent to you from JB (or you can collect). Totally different transactions.

                  • @Borg: Thank you for being patient. Now got it. Actually I have never done done transaction like this. Recently moved to Australia

I got 330 trade in and the 300. 260odd for the pro 128gb. Nice thanks

  • Anybody got issues with reactivation lock - I traded in my Samsung Galaxy s9 plus - signed out from Google and Samsung account on the phone and then performed hard reset (volume and power button combo). However, SquaretradeUP has told me that the device needs reactivation lock. I have given them the device pattern I used to have, but it is not working for reactivation lock. I have also completed remote erase on from google device and also deleted my samsung account, as per SquaretradeUP FAQs, that deletes the reactivation lock remotely.

Waiting for them to come back to me next business day, anybody has similar experiences, did they allow you to visit their store and try unlocking.

The mistake on my part I did not complete phone initialization part again just to see if throws up reactivation lock and just relied on seeing the 'initial screen after reset' and packed it up ☹

  • Price matched mobile Citi and got a pixel 6a for $205 delivered - 15% gift card, not bad for a backup phone!

    • How did you end up with $205 ?

      • Price match $499, -$300 coupon + delivery.

        I did the same thing.

      • $199 plus delivery fee $205, my bad.

  • Does it need to be trading a phone? Got an Apple Watch that worth $50, can I still get the $300 rebate for the pixel?

    • yes, if it has > $1 value, you can get $300 voucher.

      • Thanks so much, very tempting to buy this one for mum to replace her aged iPhone 6s Plus…… never own an android phone, but trying to decide between this one and the Motorola edge 30 pro currently on sale for $499, any idea if these 2 phones are comparable? Thanks in advance

        • Both have battery issues. If its for an elderly, probably look at the Samsung A54 that comes to this range. use $30 voucher as well (search for JB perk thread). Its a good phone and servers the purpose with great battery life

          • @MondaySleeper: Thanks a lot, I have had a look at the A54, although the battery life sounds incredible, the screen is a bit smaller than the pixel 7 pro, so pulled the trigger today and traded in an unused AW 4 to get the $300 coupon, ended up $456. A pity they don’t allow stacking the $30 coupon…. Either $30 or $300….

  • Can someone help me know how to use physical Ultimate home card to buy online? I don't see any option to enter it. If I enter it in credit card section, it can only do 500 max??

    Card value is 500
    Item value is 550

    • +3

First buy $50 jb git card. Use that $50 GC in the GC section and then pay the balance using the other $500 card in the card section

  • My Google Pixel 5 has a trade in value of $50. Ridiculous.

    • Just don't send it back and repay the 50. Worth it for the 300 bonus.

      • Lol What do you mean? Isn't that dodgy?

        • +2

Why? They give you $50 after-which you change your mind and want to keep your device for whatever reason. Email them asking to cancel the trade in as a matter of courtesy (also saves reminders from them asking to post back). They will just charge your Cr/Card the $50 and you keep the $50 giftcard (and the bonus code).

          • @Borg: wouldn't they charge bonus $300 on your credit card as well since you didn't give them phone?

            • @talexpat1: From what I understand these are 2 seperate transactions. The trade-in GC is done through SquareTradeUp (requires debit/credit card) and the $300 voucher is via JB (most likely an incentive from Google to clear stock before P8 release in a couple of weeks).

So if you don't send the device back you are going to be charged the trade-in GC value by SquareTradeUp but the $300 voucher and the other trade-in vouchers they email you are done via JB. Also if you're not intending on sending the device back make sure you contact SquareTradeUp after receiving the phone and ask them to cancel your trade-in order.

          • @Borg: If you don't use the gift card with the value of your trade in device, they will just cancel that gift card and not charge you.

            • @CodeXD: Not they will charge the value whether you use it or not. So best to use it.

              • @911r:

                Thank you for contacting us.
We have cancelled your order, including cancelling the JB Hi-Fi Trade-in Credit.
Your credit card details (token) have been released, and no credit card details are held.

                • @CodeXD: Nice one, I just went with what the terms said but I guess if you contact them there's a work around.

          • @Borg: Am I still getting the $300 bonus?

            • +1

@PeeDee: I claimed the $300, and made the purchase without the trade in phone gift card value, only used the $300.

Then emailed them and said I changed my mind. They just cancelled the gift card.

              • @CodeXD: I think you're probably better off just using their GC and not complicating things any further. Otherwise might end up in a situation where they cancel the GC but still end up charging you for it (there's a pre-authorised holding charge from the beginning).

However if you do want to use your own GCs then there are devices that give you just $1 trade-in value so that might be the way to go in that case.

              • @CodeXD: Interesting…..they clearly noted as per T&Cs that they would need to charge for the already provided Giftcard. Not a big deal as in my case was just $1 which I ended up using. Anyhow, there was no option to cancel the Giftcard (in my instance)……..nor would I expect them to as per T&CS.
In the end all happy with the $300 bonus code (which you get to keep/use)at no cost.

If anyone's interested in purchasing the P7 Pro 128GB get on chat and politely tell them that a mate got it for $869 from JB and if it's possible to match it. Make sure you have the $300 trade-in voucher and 15% off JB GCs ready to go before you do though because the link they give you expires at midnight.

    • May as well just ask them what the best price is for it rather than trying to pretend that your mate got one for $869.

It is currently $899 on their website anyway.

      • Maybe but haven't seen it for any lower?

    • If uyou happy with just $30 off the current price, jut ask them the best price. They will give you this price. No need for a made-up story.

      • +1

From my experience asking for the best price gets you nowhere. They just give some BS offer and say they can't go any lower and it also varies depending on the customer service rep you get. So for mine it helps and saves a lot of time if you have something passable to negotiate with.

  • Can this promo be applied in store?

  • Is there any way left to get the Pixel 7 with this method as of today?

  • Anyone know if you can do multiple vouchers? Ie I want a pixel 7 pro and 7a and I want to trade in a pixel 7 and pixel 5 so I'll have 4 vouchers in total.

Can I simply use the 300 + 300 + 370 +50 all in one transaction or is it limited to 1 per transaction?

    • You cannot stack 2 x $300 bonus pixel vouchers in 1 transaction.

You can use the $370 and $50 in the same one tho.

  • How much time does it take for Ultimate gift card? I placed order for gift card 4 hours ago. I haven't received yet. Can anyone please tell

    • +1

It depends. If you received a tax invoice it should be fine. I think mine were emailed around 3 hours after the tax invoice but that was during business hours. So not sure how they operate outside of that.

  • Anyone have any price match options for 7a or 7pro?
Can't find any cheaper places around

  • Trying to get pixel 7 price match from Telstra but refused. Any idea how I can get them to price match?
    TIA

  • I got online quote from squaretradeup for a mobile. Then they issued a gift voucher. Now I don't want to place order on Jb-Hifi and use this gift voucher.

Will they charge me the amount as I have pre-authorized payment from credit card and I won't be sending them mobile. But I'm not using that issued gift voucher.

Please help. I am really stressed

    • +1

Calm down and read the email they sent you.

If you have any questions, you can reply to this email or via our contact page.
We aim to answer any questions within 1 hour during business hours.

      • Okay but I emailed them 2 hours ago about my concern. I haven't received any response. I am not using that voucher either,
I posted this comment if someone faced this situation. I moved to Australia just now & not aware of these things. I used my brother in law's credit card for pre-authorized payment . That's y m stressed

        • FAQ says
"Trade-in orders cancelled during Coupon Promo, will be charged the full Trade-in value of the JB Credit eGift Card on their nominated Credit Card, regardless if the JB Credit eGift Card has not been used." :'(

        • +2

What email did you sent it to [email protected]?

Make sure reply isn't in junk.

I sent them a message on their contact us page and they replied via email from that support email above, cancelled the trade in value, no card charge.

Pixel 7 sold out at lava tech. Wish there was some other price match available or could use this 300 dollar voucher for some other phone.

  • +2

Tried to buy a 7 Pro last night. Added to my cart at $899, typed in my gift card code, then price jumped to $1299. I guess their price changed at midnight, and i just got really unlucky with timing :(

    • +1

Yup. I went to the store yesterday. Guy told me it's available on sale until 27th or 29th. Sigh…didn't take a photo of any of the signs with dates.

Thought I'd do it today at work

      It's now 1299.

      Oh well.

  • I dillydallied and now can't find the Pixel deal on the trade-in page? https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/jbtradein
Is it still active or has it been cancelled early?

    • +1

It never showed there. Just click on the voucher that shows on JB under the Pixel phone i.e. the colourful $300 bonus voucher one.

    • +1

It shows on the pixel 7 product page, scroll down to DON'T MISS OUT ON THESE!

  • Is this deal still active? Can we complete today?

    • -3

Exact same question was literally asked the comment above yours

      • But prices are back to 1299 i guess?

          • +2

            @CodeXD: Are you okay?

              • -2

@CodeXD: Let me not be the victim of your false assumptions and bad day dude.

        • +1

          You snooze you lose

    • +1

Yes, you can. Today is the last day and you will get $300 coupon as well. It takes 5 mins to finish the process.

But the Pixel 7 Pro's price has since gone up and even with $300, it doesn't seem like a very good deal.

      • Thank you. Does that 300 coupon expire soon?

        • +1

          Today midnight

  • Will JB Hi-Fi send an e-mail confirming receipt of the traded-in phone and its condition?

    • +2

Nah that's all through SquareTrade. They'll email you once they receive the device and are supposed to get in touch again after having done their checks, they never got back to me but my pending charge disappeared so I assume they were happy with it.

  • +1

fyi, deal still elligible. I saw in store showing end date of 25/10/23 for this promo!

    • The coupon you saw advertised can only be applied to a purchase of a Pixel 8/8 Pro.

      • damn. The price of p8 is jacked up by so much. I hope it'll be reduced by a lot next year.
