    • Got mine today, when I first turned it on, said 69% battery health
      Fully charged battery
Used it fairly lightly lasted about 3 hours before battery died
Recharged again and battery health says 55%, 256 cycles
Not sure what either of these mean…

      • +3

It means you send it back. Battery will soon get even worse.

        • Thank you!!

          • @Surtr: Just checking, that was your own calculation from the capacity reported by "powercfg /batteryreport" ?

            • @bargaino: That was from the nirsoft batteryinfoview which I think gets it from the same feed

  • Mine showed we've got it until last night, then rapidly went from Brisbane to Sydney and got delivered this morning without signature… Watching the camera like a hawk to make sure it's still there 🤣

    • +1

I was wfh today and heard doorbell. I rushed to the door the delivery guy has gone and left the box in front of the gate…..he must run to the next Surface Pro 5 delivery lollll

  • +5

Anyone else really underwhelmed by the quality of the keyboard?

Here's mine. I'm thinking I will return as this is unacceptable to me. I get that it's a second hand good, but I expected better than this:

Is everyone else finding the same?

    • +3

      That’s gross

    • That is appalling!!! I am thinking of cancelling it all and sticking just with my ipad/keyboard/mouse.

You may need to pay for postage.

      • +2

        Thanks for your input.

Return opened. Thankfully free postage with eBay Plus.

    • Woah that's poor shouldn't have gone out like that IMO

    • if the TAB is ok , no issues & battery is good,, you can buy a KB from Amazon regularly ~50 range or ,, on Original pops up in FB Market place for 80-90.

    • Wow shock to see they ship this rubbish out

    • wth mate. did you try complaining to the seller for a proper one? hope most not like this.

    • Jeez that's not flash, still haven't gotten home to open mine but that's disappointing

    • Same.

  • From Auspost:

    We apologise for the holdup.

Delivery was expected by Monday 25 Sep 2023, but unexpected congestion in our network means your item will take a little longer to arrive. We'll deliver it as quickly as we can and will let you know when the postie has it on board for delivery.

If it hasn’t arrived by Wednesday 11 Oct 2023, please get in touch and we'll find out what's happened.

  • surprisingly received mine today from nowhere. However when starting up it is asking me to for an email/account of NSW Education dept….how to move past that….or it hasn't been formatted? so close

    • +1

Not really refurbished if it is still with a NSW Edu Dept image. May need to do a fresh install/reset.

      • Oh man…not that tech savvy….should i reach out to them? I am in VIC so not sure how they r going to fix it

        • U can create a bootable usb drive by downloading it from ms. Then install.

          • @Ryxxi: I rather avoid. just not confident to be honest. I have asked the seller hopefully they can do something abt it.

          • @Ryxxi: send the message to seller, hopefully they can resolve it.

  • +1

Mate and i got ours. His is a surface pro 6 with i5 8350U. Mine is as advertised.

    • Wow he is lucky

    • Powerball $40 this week ,, Do you want to try :)

  • +2

Mine just arrived, it's an i5 Surface Pro 6 with 70% battery health

    • You got a whole model newer? Almost makes up for the battery health!

      • +1

Now under 60% battery health after one charge cycle, going to return it

        • Just got mine, 67% battery, probably going to return too

  • Just saw Auspost updated - still in Brissie though it says expected delivery tomorrow

    (I'm in VIC metro)

    • Now it's at Melbourne Airport but says expected Monday

That's annoying the long weekend would have been great to set it up

  • Woo! Mine updated too! Boo! It's still in QLD and eta is Oct 3rd-5th. I'm in Vic.

  • Mine also updated. Now at Pinkenba. Estimated delivery tomorrow or Friday.

  • Finally got mine, the exterior and the keyboard is very new, however, the display has 4 white dots in the corner which is quite disturbing. But I am buying it for a kid so he wouldn’t mind and probably won’t notice

  • Mine came today. Keyboard is is fairly bad condition and I'm also missing a charger.

  • Mine has finally moved to Brisbane Airport, with an expected delivery of tomorrow - we'll see

  • Finally Auspost updated from "we've got it" to "Received by Australia Post PINKENBA QLD • Wed 27 Sep, 3.44pm1". So I guess they didn't really "got it".

    • +1

Exactly the same as me. Same time even.

      • Now my delivery time is today until next Tuesday.

  • +5

    So… got mine, it's a Surface Pro 6 8/256 commercial edition w/i5-8350u
Keyboards in bad shape but from experience they get like this when people regularly wipe them down with alcohol wipes.
Fortunately, I've got a nice clean spare one.

Battery has 31 cycles at 100% and warranty expired 23/06/23.
Screen looks decent, chassis is not terrible, though I'll have to have a better look when I'm more sober.

Windows 10 pro has been clean installed but it's not a surface install but rather some random desktop windows 10 install.

    For $190 I can't complain… Cheers ACT

    • Damn lucky nice one.

  • I got mine yesterday and it was covered in human dandruff (I'm assuming it's human). Had to shake out the keyboard and wipe the KB connectors it was so clogged up with human gunk. Yuk.

  • mine came yesterday, surface pro 5, 98.1% battery, keyboard in good condition. can't complain. Was expecting a pro 6, haha too greedy.

  • Mine just showed up in north Brisbane, keyboard is pretty ratty but works has a i5-7300U so I guess a pro 5, just charging up battery to check health now.

    • you can google batteryinfoview to check battery health

      • Yeah just did, 115 cycles but 63% health :/

      • +1

I just sent them an ebay msg to see if I can come in and swap it over for one with 70%+, see what they come back with.

"We have this listed as used as the batteries are a minimum of 70% this time, however, the majority of the stock is alot higher"

        • +1

Being local I will do the same if mine is the same. Such a varied range of machines arriving.

  • Just got mine and unpacked it. Keyboard is super worn/fraying. Will try and get that replaced. Checking battery.

Good chance it is going back. Never had tech so worn looking.

    • 70% battery by the look of it as well 180 cycles.

  • Mine got delivered no charger included. Is that the case with everyone and we have to buy charger separately?

    • +1

I got mine today, has something stuck in the front web cam. The area under the stand has a lot of dirt. bottom of the keyboard is dirty as well. Charger was in the parcel , next to the surface pro. 77% battery with 159 cycles. I Feel like OP over sold on this one. It really is in Used and pretty bad condition. The Lenovo SFF was perfect condition with some dust on the front intake.

  • Mine arrived today, Pro 5 and 62% battery health, 192 cycles. Keyboard is a little worn around the corners but pretty clean otherwise. Didn't win the surface lottery like some of you guys, it seems!

  • For those fortunate enough to have received their units, what do you think?

    Are they actually refurbished?

    Match the description?

Did you get the included power supply or cable?

Are you keeping it or sending it back?

    • +2

Not refurbished. They are used and dirty. can have physical defects .

    • +1

No issues with the TAB, Battery 100%, 60cycles but lasts abt 5hrs with average use., No damages, screen perfect, came with the charger, KB - not the best, peeling at the edges, but usable
for me not even gentle clean,,
Match the desc, mine , I would say yes. Sending back.. no..
It bit of disappointment as OP dump the deal & vanished.. ppl start buys crazy ,, next time i'll be thinking twice,, may 100-200 saving but not worth the hassle.

    • +1

Mine looks OK. Battery reports 84%, 260 cycles. but will see how it goes after a bit if use.
SSD reports 4300 power-on hours. So 2 years of office hours.

The charger is a mini 31W 1625 model. 12V @2.58A. Did other people get that?
So i guess a lot slower to charge than the normal 65W 15V charger?

      • +1

I got the 44w model 1800 charger, i'll have to check the ssd but given my 4x higher power cycles I'm surprised my one's battery health is 90% and your's 84%.

      • +1

I got the 44w model 1800 charger too. SSD reports 3581 power-on hours

        • my charger says 65W, plugged it in and its been over 6 hours and still charging at 75%

      • Still awaiting my delivery. How do you find out the SSD hours?

  • +1

Got mine today, got delayed in the auspost app last night at midnight but then it decided to move to my local distribution centre at 12:07 so no idea what's going on with AusPost but it's not good.

It's a surface pro 5/i5-7300u so no luck there. Keyboard itself is a blue one, a bit ratty around the edges but mostly fine and luckily clean. Charger and cable included too, in the box not wrapped up with the unit.

Battery health is at 90% but the cycles are at 880 so I don't think it'll last too long.

Unit itself is fine, no issues and everything seems to be working thus far but I've only had it around 20 minutes.

I'm happy with the unit for $200 but I was looking for a windows tablet prior to ordering which not everyone will be.

  • Good experience here (apart from the Australia Post delay). Quick wipe over and it looks near new. Battery over 100% and cycle count 7.

    • +7

You are certainly the overall winner.

  • Delivered to PO Box - got wife to collect

Will update once I've had a chance to run things at home

  • When I told the seller that the battery life was only 57%,
His response was : try a few full charges and discharges, this should increase the battery health as these items have been idle for quite some time and caused this issue.

When I told the seller there was a bad spot on the screen
His response was :These items are advertised as used, so minor spot like this is not covered.
Anyway, he just won't admit there's something wrong with his product .
Watch out for this seller unless you're willing to leave everything to chance
    PEACE.

    • +3

      Free returns via ebay plus

      • Gotta be an eBay plus member though. Luckily I am in Brisbane so can return it that way if I can’t get it replaced.

      • Thats what ill be relying on

    • Cycle charge once and now it's down to 50% and then the seller disappears and never responds to a message again
      haha

      • Paypal dispute.
All paypal would need is the battery info screenshots

  • This battery life is all over the place. After a few charges and some discharging. Health started at 70.4 then 75 then 74 and now 60.8.

Think this is a bargain if the battery and keyboards were better. My trackpad is also a bit flaky at times. Some of you were lucky. Enjoy them. Mine is going back hopefully for a replacement.

    • Might mean a cell in the battery is dead, which isn’t a good sign

      • Just unplugged the charger and then it said 64.9% health…..the battery is confused….

        • Did a full discharge. Battery health is now saying 55.7. Just weird.

    • The trackpad is also a bit flaky at times Or using apps is slow
This are problems caused by a damaged battery

  • +2

    85% / 234 cycles
Condition is great-only very slight peeling next to track pad but otherwise very happy with condition

No scratches or dead pixels anywhere

  • +3

If anyone near Parramatta is really bummed about their keyboard I'm happy to swap, mines got some slight peeling on the edges but otherwise ok.

I've got a new keyboard from previous so the one I got with this deal is just going to sit in a box incase of emergency or mainly because I'm a hoarder and can't chuck things out.

  • Seller has gone completely silent. Trying to see if I can swap mine over locally. No response.

    • Yes this is completely disappointing… If he posting deals here at least should have some "Courtesy" to respond to the confusion … Anyway he will come back …

  • Received mine in bubble wrap, no charger included and has a nice dint on the top right corner. Set up had its issues as I had to restart it a couple of times to finish, would freeze on bluescreens. Eventually got through and did a battery check 78% and 116 cycles- battery died before I could really play with it and check the full history as it was very erratic.

Contacted the seller and asked if they would be sending a charger or if I should just do a return with Ebay+. No response.

Unit was pretty dirty, a fair number of hairs stuck in the keyboard and magnetic strip both on the keyboard and pro. Dust and dirt throughout, some liquid must have been trapped in-between the magnetic base strip and caused iron stain.

    • This is their condition of "Grade A"

      • Yeah, the transparency of condition instead of the A grade was definitely out of line with our OZB expectations. More annoyed it didn't come with the charger and no response.

Might have to see if I can borrow a charger to check the rest of it >.> or just send back through Ebay+.

  • No replacements…..offered a refund so that is good. May hold onto it as it still has a 12 month warranty. Has to be a refund warranty as they can't fix or replace.

    Decisions.

    • +1

There is No way they will Honor any support after the ebay safety period is over.

  • It is interesting when you see the powercfg/batteryreport history info:

They had them on charge 24/7 for weeks when they got them. Time will tell if the batteries last at all. That's what the warranty is for.

    • +3

They cant even support day 1 issues. There will be no 12 month warranty. I like this seller just wanted an easy stock and dump and is disingenuous and transparent about everything. Will be a neg for me and def not getting anything from this seller again.

      • There is a physical company behind the ebay store. There will be warranty.

        • Then why are'nt they replying to my ebay messages ? My unit has some damage to the camera.

  • +3

    Got mine today
561 cycles 83% health on first boot. See how we go
My keyboard was a lot better than some
    Overall, for $200, I can’t complain

    • 561 cycles….wow…..I think the battery life on these is reporting randomly. Playing Youtube at the moment. Think I will get about 3-4 hours out of mine. Battery health somewhere between 55 and 75%.

  • +4

    Received mine today - 99% / 22 cycles

    • Must have been so bad before that it got replaced or something!
