Read the thread. The title is what you get.

  • +2

Crap, missed out again! Was too busy telling my crew about this sweet bargain and bam! OOS.

  • -6

as usual the mere thought of those keyboards coated in other peoples wrist and palm grease makes me want to throw up a bit in my mouth, should be a health crime to include when selling on, crusty+

    • +1

      It’s called a disinfectant wipe.

      • -5

its fabric dude, once you see one, you cant unsee it. truly disgusting

    • -1

Dont buy then or just chuck. Better still disinfect? Sheesh!

  • What do you guys use for?

  • -3

If only these had 16GB RAM or could be upgraded. 8GB is not usable anymore

  • +1

Missed it. I don't like taking my laptop away with me due to concerns with it maybe getting stolen, and problems with airport security where you are separated from your stuff - especially as I use wheelchair assistance in airports. Already had one incident with this with my Kindle and KIndle Fire tablet. Luckily I got them back.

This would have been ideal for me as I only need a copy of my family history software and the data file so that I can do research in the UK, and can also use it for emails, watching downloaded TV shows, etc, so memory etc not a major issue.

    Hopefully it will come again??

    • +2

Keep checking. 2 still available again ….

      • Aaaand they're gone.
If only I could just stop working and spawncamp the listing :p

  • -1

The now-it's-in-stock, now-it-isn't is a drag and a negative experience. Maybe vendors should take notice, and try and make sure they've looked in all the corners and under the couch right from the start, and found all the stock, rather than adding in dribs and drabs

    • +5

Part of it I think is eBay and how they sync. Other part is if people cancel orders and more become available.

  • +1

See up again but price up as well. $339? $74.58 eBay plus.

  • Are we getting more @Calmago? I was thinkingof buying 2 units.

    • Not at this stage sorry.

  • I am need one too.

  • Doesn't say grade A or B refurbished and not official good luck guys

  • I know these are OOS, but for future reference. I want to replace an old Android tablet used mostly for streaming YouTube. Are these good/poor choice for my use case?

    • +1

      Sure would be. Great screens.

    • Pretty much in the same boat and bit the bullet on a couple of these a month or so ago.
Got the pro 6 to replace the parents Samsung 10.1 and myself the pro 5 and overall pretty happy with them. The pro 5 battery is shot at 75% health but still lasts a few hours no problem.

Higher quaility youtube videos will struggle on the dual core of the pro 5 so get the next model if you can afford it but otherwise its completely replaced my laptop for content consumption, havent even turned it on since i got these.

    • good replacement but wouldn't recommend. the screen will look nice. it will sound probably better. but it gets hot quickly and needs to be charged more frequently compared to a tablet. if your main concern is portability and battery life stick with a tablet

  • Dang missed out!
    Def a great deal

  • has anyone received the item? what is the condition?

    • Ordered yesterday. Will be a few days.

    • Received??.. Not even 24hrs since the deal :) ..

    • Received?

Mine is coming by 'Express Post'.

      That's Australia Post.

      I shan't be holding my breathe…

Based on recent experiences, it'll end up at the furthest realistic LPO from my address. Courier selected by exhaustive process of Russian Roulette and personally trained by a goldfish.

  • Feedback from anyone for general web and Plex use on these vs something like $150-300 new Android tablets? Anything in particular these do better? I've got a Macbook Pro and have been considering a 8-11" tablet for general usage and media when travelling.

    • The high-res 3:2 screen is very nice for web, or office/study, plus it runs a full version of Chrome etc, not the crippled one you get on Android.

But for media streaming, Android might be better, with wider form factor, smaller.

Anyone have their shipment stuck at post since Thursday?

    • Yes. A special service called 'Express Farce'.

    • Same here!

    • yep, delayed waiting to be processed. Stuck at 'we got it'

      • +1

Missed this deal but sometime when I get things saying “we got it” suddenly it appears on last leg or delivered. They prob didn’t scan the items. Currently have one with filament saying “we got it” since Tuesday. In Wa.

        • Speaking off. Getting delivered today the item that was “we got it” since last week.

    • Same.

      • Meant to arrive today. But no update since last Thursday.

    • Mine sat at shipping information received until Monday then updated to we've got it for the previous Friday, hasn't moved since.

      • Same, it said expected delivery Monday but now still stuck at we got it !

    • Same! No update since Saturday saying there's a delay.

  • +1

Anyone has tracking updates? Mine stuck at we have got it

    • +1

      No

    • Same. Just says received and ready for processing.

      • Yea it said delivery expected today but no tracking update as where the item currently is

    • Mine is We've got it and delayed.

    • Mine says "it's on its way" at Brisbane Airport from like an hour ago

  • +5

If it arrives, this looks like a good charging option:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Braided-Charging-Requires-Compatib…

    • Oh nice. I wonder why aus post is scamming hard with express post though..

  • Still stuck at "We have got it", no updates since last Friday.

  • Seems like AusPost is struggling to process the 800 units sold

  • Just got mine ,, Battery 100%,, display perfect , keyboard has some marks as expect

    • Wow 100% battery, that’s impressive

      • +1

That is what powercfg /batteryreport /output xx.html shows.. again never know.. will give it some time & see..

    • Damn. Hoping mine is same

  • Where was it sent from according to the tracker?

    • Item processed at facility -BRISBANE AIRPORT QLD • Mon 25 Sep, 5.32pm,
Delivered Melb VIC • Tue 26 Sep, 11.13am

  • I messaged the seller to see what was going on and they sent me another tracking number

    It looks like this.

    XS[[9999999][XXXXXXXXX]]

I've never seen a tracking number like this before and they stopped replying.

Anyone know what service this and where I submit this tracking number?

    • +1

I did check with AUPost, they told me that Startrack has received massive lot from this seller (obvious), they has some issues with processing, everything will be processed within next day or two..

      • ahhh sorry im kinda confused… does Auspost have it or startrack? Are they kinda the same thing?

The original tracking number is with Auspost and it says its delayed.

      • Thanks for the update, I contacted AusPost and they told me they can't/won't do anything until two weeks after the delivery date. Mine is delayed too and no updates since the 21st.

The seller would be able to claim a lot of money back from this, thanks to AusPost reinstating the next business day guarantee for express post items…

        • +1

The seller would be able to claim a lot of money back from this, thanks to AusPost reinstating the next business day guarantee for express post items…

They can't. The guarantee doesn't apply to eParcel.

  • +1

My tracking is also stuck.. and I live in Brisbane! Somehow Melbourne people are getting theirs before me.

  • Got message today from seller/Aus post….original delivery date 25/09. New delivery date 10/10. that's 15 days delayed….

  • No update to tracking since Thursday here too.

    Received and ready for processing
    Thu 21 Sep, 3.50pm

Called Aus post - they have no scans to show where the item actually is and seemed to suggest that the sender had "forgotten" to send it… This is despite their tracking showing that they have it.

Messaged the seller but no response as of reporting.

    • The seller has responded, however the response is not filling me with confidence.

"Currently, all deliveries from Aust Post are being delayed. We still apologize for this inconvenience. You should expect your order to arrive by the end of this week.

      Australian Computer Traders "

It would be nice to get a consistent response here.

Perhaps the OP would like to weigh in?

  • Delayed. No new date.

  • +1

Tracking stuck as well. Chatted with Aus Post, no update.

Msgd the seller and apparently they had to order more power supply units! Wtf! Crap service, feel like was duped to buying that's not ready to be posted. Won't buy from these folks again.

    • +1

If that's the case, surely it shouldn't go "Received and ready for processing", should be "Shipping information received" at best.

  • +6

Given that these 800 buyers are mostly from OZB, I think we deserve some explanation from OP here..

  • +1

What a terrible express post. Perhaps the seller can learn from this mistake and don’t throw all the orders in one post office when they have massive quantity? If they separate them in a few different stores then we would have gotten the orders by now.

  • So Aus post owes this company $12000 if each parcel costed $15 to post.

  • +1

it was supposed to be delivered on 25th Sep. This morning (27th Sep) received it with keyboard and adapter charger. ran battery test shows 84.2% Health 105 cycles. Around Headphone jack has some wear and tear. Overall isn't bad. Good luck everyone!

    • mine is delated by 15 days….how you run battery test?

    • Did your tracking ever update at all?

      • +2

Ordered on 21st, AUPOST showed "We've got it" on 22nd and expected date 25th. 26th morning showed delayed. In arvo showed in Brisbane airport. 27th morning got delivery. I am in Sydney.

        • Those in Brisbane aren't getting them which is weird.

          • @boxall: I'm 4 hours north of Brisbane and thought the same thing; given other packages are coming through to me from Brisbane fine.

            • +1

@cheepseats: i'm on the gold coast, no movement since friday with "we've got it". I've had 1 package from Perth, 3 from Amazon and should be getting a startrak package from Sydney today at some point delivered since Friday. Not impressed at all with this shipping, especially since I would've picked it up if I knew the store was in Brisbane as I was up there on Saturday.

  • Received mine today, seems to be in pretty good condition, 83% battery which is not the best but okay.

    • 83% battery on mine too. Now to find a good deal on a Surface Pen

      • Got mine today too in Vic, 76% battery and 340 cycle count

        • Eventually creeped up to 100% and only 15 cycle count which is pretty damn good

          • @shortie84: I'm getting 103% and 24 cycles. Both the screen and pad look unmarked. I think that counts as a win.

            No thanks to AusPest.

            Express Post my derrière…

            • +1

@lostincanberra: Most of these would have been used as desktop replacement via surface dock in a corporate enviroment
