Great for those whose already in Bosch 12v ecosystem with swapping drill/driver mode function. Strongly recommended for wood working/installation with better control of torque. Not good for me cause I am with red team atm.

  • this or the ozito PXC for $49 at bunnings?

    • Don't think Ozito do 12v PXC range?
edit: The 18v PXC range is 40Nm of torque, whereas this is 30Nm of torque. But for the use case, likely wouldn't matter. Modern 12v kits aren't like the older 12v kits though. You buy them for the portability and convenience. They're much nicer to use for long periods (when there is no need for a big powerful drill). Ergonomically much nicer too imo, very well balanced. Again, unlike the old 12v drills.

I think "skin only" means the only thing this weak unit will drill through is your own skin

Whether this is a bargain or not aside..

These 12v drills can handle everything in a workshop. Period. Especially the 12v brushless, which can basically break your wrist with no clutch setting on and the bolt jams as your driving it.

Literally having less weight and more comfort (especially if you are working all day with the tool) is a better FEATURE than having more features and weight that you rarely use. But thats why 12v exists in first place or therw would only be 18v. I suspect many 18v users havent figured this out and don't know what theyre missing. And perhaps are compensating.. everything is about size and power lol

Ask any mechanic.. their fav tools are the lightweight comfortable ones that make doing the job fast and easy.. not the most powerful tool… or strongest spanner.

Its truly amazing how many people only see power and strength in tools.. as if those are the only characteristics that are important or completely oblivious that they come with tradeoffs/drawbacks in weight etc

Never a truer word spoken. My ten year old 9.8V Makita drill is still my favourite. For all the reasons you state and also because it can get into tighter spots too. The only time I ever had to slow down was in steel >1mm thick. I have more powerful drills, corded and cordless, including a Makita 18V, but I always reach for the little one first.

Was going to purchase this, but also need batteries and couldn't find any good kit deals like this one unfortunately.

Very good drill for its size. Compact.

  • Having a stack of Sortimo cases https://www.totaltools.com.au/141565-bosch-l-boxx-carrying-c… this is a bargain for anyone who uses the cases and in this system. Just not in that ecosystem :(

    • Are you sure it comes with the l-boxx? The listing says a couple of times that it comes in a cardboard box.

      • Was just wondering that myself. It specifically mentions cardboard box. If that’s the case, and the l-boxx isn’t included, it’s a little shady.

        • some of the reviews even say the chuck was missing

          • +1

@codaroma: Just received mine, cardboard box and NO chuck.

  • Is this good for use as a lightweight drill to polish cars with sponge attachments?

    • +2

No drill is good for that - you need a random orbital polisher. The random action means it won't damage your paint by polishing the exact same spot repeatedly.

      • Thanks mate, I was trying to get away with some light car polishing + shower glass cleaning with a cheap multipurpose drill. I might keep to hand polishing the car then based on your advice, cheers.

What cheapie lightweight drill would you suggest for shower glass cleaning? Would this Ozito Home 12V Drill Driver work?

  • I already got four batteries, so grabbing four-skins will make me a happy man!

is there only one chuck in the box?

    • It says "Items Included: GSR 12V-15 FC, in Cardboard Box" so I assume it includes the chucks that come in that model. I am going to pull the trigger, I have a battery for it and think my missus will like it.

      • A couple of the reviews say it didn’t include the chuck, but they’re French so maybe different warehouse.

        • +1

I just re-read the title, it is saying 2 in 1 so maybe only including the drill chuck and not the rest. Weird listing to be sure.

      • +1

Got mine today and no chuck. Includes chuck in pic so I might inquire about it.

    • Maybe ask them and they'll chuck in another?

  • Was browsing Amazon for a light 12v drill with batteries when this showed up. Includes a case and 2 batteries for $52. Better deal than this Bosch?

  • Anyone had theirs shipped yet ?

    • As reported on 24.10 - already received mine without chuck and in paper box.

  • Got mine too. No chuck..
