Join eBay Plus for $9.99 for 1 Year (Was $49 Per Year) @ eBay Australia

13600

Just went to sign up for eBay Plus on my inactive account and saw that they are offering $9.99 eBay Plus memberships for 1 year (thanks to @Ramennightmare)

Don't forget your $20 cashback when you click via TopCashback and sign up. Thanks to @MiscOzB

If not using TopCashback, head to the eBay Plus page and try to sign up (either find the banner or just try to sign up as usual). The offer will be there on the payment screen where you select your membership plan.

Thanks to @nicholasv go to this link and accept this offer for a $20 voucher before signing up to the $9.99 deal. You might be lucky and score a $20 voucher, making eBay pay you to be a Plus member. After signing up, find the voucher here. (long-running deal) might not work from reports

For those currently on eBay Plus membership, accept this $30 gift card offer then proceed to cancel your membership. When you sign on to this deal, sometimes eBay will still send you the $30 Gift Card (at a later date). (long-running deal)

  • the $20 voucher. after click it say:

        • 48 months interest free? How can I lose?!

I cancelled my subscription out of spite that I did not get the offer.

    • This offer is available to everyone. Just open ebay homepage in incognito.

      • no, it's not. Read the fine print, if you can find it:

        "Excludes WA, NT and TAS"

        • Why not link it if you found it? There's nothing about that in T&S.

            • @poohduck: I am afraid your multiple posts reg this is not correct.
4.1.2. If your delivery address is located in an eligible metro postcode, you are also entitled to a free upgrade to an express postage service offered by eBay Plus sellers on eBay Plus items, with the following exclusions:
Excluded States and Territories: Western Australia, Tasmania and Northern Territory

Ended up seeing this offer a day before my previous eBay Plus subscription ended, accepted the $30 gift card they offered to me and then signed up for this offer the day after it expired.

Just today received the $30 gift card, good deal 👍🏻

Strangely enough the email with the gift card is still advertising being able to shop with Coles on eBay, hasn’t that been finished for a couple of years now?

      • What state do you live in? "Excludes WA, NT and TAS"

        • What state do you live in? "Excludes WA, NT and TAS"

That’s only for the express post option. Any one in Australia can sign up for it.

            • @poohduck: That's exactly about express post.

Free express metro delivery on millions of eBay Plus items^^

^^ Excludes WA, NT and TAS. T&Cs apply.

If you click on T&Cs apply, it is literally a list of postcodes lol

    • How many days did you have in your subscription left before you went on to cancel it ?

      • +1

How many days did you have in your subscription left before you went on to cancel it ?

I’d cancelled it about 6 months ago. On the final day clicked on the link for the $30 voucher and then the next day (after it had expired) signed up for this deal. Got the voucher 3 days after.

    • subject title for giftcard?

      • Name, here's your $30 gift card from eBay Plus

  • +1

Thank you OP and nicholasv. Rarely ever get any deals on my one main account but I got this one. Very happy with the $20 voucher + $10 signup.

  • -3

ahh, the old insurance trick; be sure to read the fine writing, if you can even find it!

    "Excludes WA, NT and TAS"

  • do they send $20 to your email or in the ebay account?

    • They would send an email, message in ebay and shows in your summary.
But if you signed up to the $9.95 annual subscription, I don't think you would get this $20 voucher.

  • They reneged on their offer and won't give me the $20 voucher

  • Wow, topcashback had me pending for a $20 earning and it disappeared without trace.

  • signed up for $10, tried to cancel membership and got offered $30 Ebay credit voucher to stay (arrive within 10days)

    • Let us know when you get it, as my understanding is ebay offer $30 voucher when your subscription is ending and voucher arrives when you don't cancel and subscribe again.

          • T&Cs said the credit will be in my account within 10days of payment day (yesterday)
          • When you opt to cancel membership you still have the year's membership up til 2024, just stops it from renewing. I set a reminder to cancel it later after I get the credit
  • This isn't currently working for me :(. Cancelled my eBay Plus, but I retain benefits through until next year. Going to deal page in incognito or not brings up t&c but no 'accept offer' button. When I tried to use the 'join eBay Plus' link I got server error. Maybe they are fixing it?!

  • No success with this for me. It allowed me to cancel Plus but trying to join up just loops back to the plus ad page. I think this is for new users or previous expired Plus members

  • +1

Anyone got charged foreign transaction fee for paying the membership fee?
I got charged $0.29 and I'm with Westpac (paid via PayPal)

      • That's not the intent of the question, feel free not to answer

    • What was the amount shown on your account? in AUD or foreign currency? If in AUD, then you should talk to your Westpac or check your default settings in your paypal account.

    • It's because the transaction is overseas, some banks charge you a cc fee for that even if it's in AUD.

Virgin Money do it, and it appears so does Westpac. Lesson learned.

      • Doesn't eBay has an Australian division? In previous eBay plus sign up, never been charged foreign fee

        • Did you use another card? I previously used another card that had no cc fees so it never came up.

The billing agreement says ebay.com, maybe it's going directly there.

          • +1

@Hiphopopotamus: I will have a chat with Westpac
            Thanks people

            • @jobargain: Let me know how it goes. I had a chat with a VM rep in their app, they just pointed me towards their T&Cs.

    • Same boat as you

    • Yeah I did but used my ING card so it got refunded. I was wondering what that was for.

  • How did people go with the TopCashback cash back? I have the $20 click through tracked.

    • Mine was tracked and then just disappeared without a trace.

      • +1

Thanks for letting us know. I just screenshot it 😎

Seems like this has expired, showing $49.95 now for me. Was showing $9.95 yesterday, just forgot to sign up.

    • Can confirm still $9.95 on my end right now as of 2:40am 8/11/2023.

      • Strange, couldn't get it on multiple browsers or devices yesterday. Checked again this morning and was on my phone.

      • Showing $49.00 for me

        • Still $9.99 for me. Someone said if you continue to click through, you might get the offer at the page where you select the plan.

          • @I Smell Pennies: The next step is join eBay plus, I’m at the page where you enter payment method and choose yearly/monthly plan, the next step would be the join button?!

            • +1

@rlexyd: That’s weird. Offer definitely still available on my end.

              • @I Smell Pennies: I can see the $9.95/yr offer using another account that hasn’t used eBay plus before, but not on my main account which has recently had monthly eBay plus cancelled and lapsed, that’s showing $49/yr. Anyway around that?

                • @rlexyd: Why not just sign up with the other account?

                  • @CodeXD: Not my main account which I sell on and has history but might sign up the other account just as a backup since it’s this cheap, might even do a live chat and see if the can match that deal on main account?! No harm in trying.

  • I have no option whatsoever to sign up at the moment - already signed up last year and cancelled with membership due to expire 1st December. Guess I'm not getting this.

    • +2

cancelled with membership due to expire 1st December.

There's the problem. You can only sign up after your current membership has expired.

      • People were saying they cancelled and then signed up again.

I only have a few days to go so fingers crossed it reappears.

  • +1

Signed up on Saturday after accepting the $20 voucher offer, but no voucher showing up for me.

    • Did you get it ? I did not, 2 days counting

  • +1

I contacted ebay customer service today:
Here, I was able to locate that the second promotion has been successfully applied on your eBay account and you have successfully subscribed to eBay Plus with an annual subscription for $9.99 and hence here in this case your eBay account is not eligible for the $20 voucher as on eBay not more than 01 offer can be applied at a time.

  • +1

    $9.99 still working.
Just click the banner $4.99 join per month but the next page, it will show you $9.99 per year.
I am using the ebay login that I haven't use for the past 1 yr though.

  • +4

$20 cashback from TopCashback is available again.

  • +3

Given OPs instructions for those with existing eBay Plus accounts, was anyone with an existing account successful?

    • I think you cant have running ebay plus membership and be able to get this $9.95 offer, you need to wait till it expires.
I had an expired plus membership and signed to new one for $9.95 but did not get $20 voucher, as it only valid for the $49 fee.

  • +6

I let my subscription lapse yesterday (despite $30 voucher being offered)… it the hope that it would offer me a $10 purchase for the year on re-sign up. Unfortunately on multiple devices showing $49.

    • +3

Same here - only $4.99/month or $49/year options given.

    • same here. I see the banner with offer of $9.99, click on "join now" and $49 appears

      • still showing 9.99 option here. havent had ebay plus on this account for at least a year though

      • +1

Working now. Click through on banner, shows $9.99 as expected

    • Same. Refused $30 hoping to get it for $9.99.
But nah - only $49 for me.
      eBay Plus strikes back. :)

  • Just signed up via Topcashback and only paid $9.99 for a year. Now just wait till it track hopefully in the next few days

    • +1

Have yours tracked? Mine has been more than 48 hours and hasn’t tracked.

      • +1

No not yet. I submit a missing cashback. Now wait and see what happen

  • +1

$20 Topcashback says its for new ebay plus customers only so waste of time if you had ebay plus in the past?

    • yes, option not available for previous ebay plus customers

  • s this still on ? I don't see $9.99 anymore.

  • i cant see the 9.99 option anymore either

  • Still working for me. Just joined

  • +2

For those whose memberships have recently expired in Nov 2023 and weren't offered $9.99 to re-join, the offer has just been made available again. My membership expired last week and I didn't get the $9.99 to renew. This morning they sent me the offer to join $9.99/year. So check your account, you may get the same offer.

    • +1

My membership expired this week and was hoping I'd get the offer but unfortunately it's not to be.

      • +1

Same mine expired today and I'm just seeing $49, ah well

        • Same here mine expired today and I am not seeing the $9.99 banner anywhere on the page.

    • Where do I find it?

      • +1

The offer came up as a banner when I signed in today. If your membership just expired like this week, wait a bit to see you'll get the offer. I was offered after mine expired last week. The banner will say "A year of eBay Plus for $9.99" We miss you Save $39* on an annual membership"

        • It expired today, so will keep an eye this week

  • Membership just expired but don't see the $9.99 renewal offer. The only banner I can see is the one offering 30 day free trail post which I would be charged the full $49 fee

  • +11

For anyone who’s membership just lapsed and were then going to sign up for $9.95 offer. It has taken a week since mine expired for my sign up year price to NOT be showing as $49. I’ve been checking every day… but today after a week it finally offered me the $9.95. (Same device).

    • Thanks for posting this. Mine expired yesterday and nothing yet

    • The hero we needed, thank you.
Hoping a week from 16th it works for me, will be checking daily.

    • +1

This just worked for me after previous year expired on the 15th November. Thank you for commenting I would not have kept looking every day. Interestingly it was $9.99 for first year
