Spotify Premium: 18 Months Individual, 243 days Duo or 206 Days (~7 Months) Family ~A$47.81 @ Spotify Egypt (VPN Required)

3110

This deal is similar to my post last year, but results in a cheaper outcome: circa A$2.66 per month for Individual or A$1.18/month per person if you have a full Family group of six people.

What you will need before starting

  1. VPN with Egypt Server: ExpressVPN, CyberGhost or Surfshark (or another if I am not aware). CyberGhost has a 7-day free trial.
  2. New or lapsed existing Spotify account (can be Australian)

Step 1: Cancel your existing premium subscription to Spotify and wait for the current billing period to end, or create a free account if you don't have one

Edit for step 2 below: users have reported that they have only been able to redeem one gift card (some have said the 12 month has worked but not the 6 month, or vice versa. Note: I have removed specific links from this step because users have reported issues redeeming these gift cards.

Solutions found by other users:
1. Users have reported that the below method works for Spotify India instead
2. If you have already purchased a code which is not working, contact live chat
3. Purchase 3 x 6 month codes instead

Step 2: Purchase 1 x 12 Month Egypt Spotify Premium Gift Card] and 1 x from G2A (alternatively, 3 x 6 months) or another site with Egyptian Spotify gift card. Note: Price quoted in title is based on current total price of the two gift cards linked here, however the price may vary depending on where you purchase it.

Step 3: Turn on your VPN and set location to Egypt. Note: Many VPN providers do not have an Egyptian server.

Step 4: While VPN is activated, go to your 'account' here and click 'Edit Profile', an option to set your country to 'Egypt' should appear (this option is greyed out if you have still have an active premium subscription). If it does not appear, check your VPN is activated correctly. Save your changes. This will now let you redeem Egyptian gift cards.

Step 5: Click Redeem and paste your gift card codes that you previously purchased in Step 2. You will see that the confirmation message will mention '12 Months Premium' and '6 Months Premium' being redeemed. Once you have redeemed both codes, here you will see EGP 499 and EGP 300 respectively in your order history. If you attempt to redeem more than 18 months, you will get an error stating that you cannot redeem more than 18 months of premium in advance.

Note: Stop here if you wish to keep your account as an Individual account. If you wish to convert your 18 Months Premium to 243 days of Duo or 206 days of Family, continue to Step 6. If you stop here your account will remain an "Egyptian" account. Please note, if you do not continue to step 9, this will mean video podcasts will not work on your account.

Step 6: Go to "Account Overview" and click on "Your Plan". Now click "Subscribe" at the bottom. You will now see "Your Plan" with EGP49.99 / month and the next billing date will be 18 months from now. Beneath the summary, you'll see a payment gateway show up with some Egyptian payment options. Look beneath them and you will see "Change country" in the footer. Click on it and select Australia. You will now see $12.99 per month and the next billing date has been reduced to ~12 months from now. This is due to some sort of conversion rate between countries. Do not proceed yet.

Step 7: At the top, click "Change Plan". On the next page, click on Premium Duo or Premium Family. Confirm that the new billing date is approximately 243 days from now (for duo) or 7 months (206 days) for Family.

Step 8: Choose PayPal as the payment method and follow the prompts to finalise. Your PayPal won't be charged until the date stated in the summary.

Step 9: After confirming, your account will be Australian, so choose your normal Australian address for the Premium Duo/Family as you normally would, and tell your "family" members to enter the same address.

    • I’ve now updated the post to remove specific links to the G2A given that many people have now reported that it’s not working. Let me know if the seller ends up replying, otherwise try a chargeback on the purchase

  • what vpn did you use @zug

  • No good, G2A refuses to do anything and said I must get permission for the seller to initiate refund. One of the sellers suggest I "talk" to Spotify to claim the codes… what are the chances Spotify will do this for us?

    • I wouldn’t be contacting Spotify, I imagine they’d likely ban your account if you aren’t legitimately in Egypt. Just my guess.

  • Anyone have any luck with refunds with PayPal?

12 months subscription with CyberGhost VPN wasn't working for me.

    • you may want to try the codes again with Egypt VPN and profile changed to Egypt. After a month, the 6 month codes are now magically working

  • +1

anyone been successful in getting a refund? I've just lodged a dispute with my credit card provider.

Was liaising with the seller on conversation but they became non-responsive, and then after about 7 follow-ups, wrote me this:

    "Dear buyer,
    thank you for your message.
The keys are intended for use only in the Egyptian region. Any attempt to alter the activation locations will not be considered during the complaints process."

However they have never asked whether I was located in egypt or not, so seems like their answer to fielding any complaints is just to close the request and now cannot contact them.

    • It shouldn’t matter where the buyer is located. You could say that you’re buying for a relative that lives there anyway… that’s terrible, I hope that you get the refund via your CC

    • you may want to try the codes again with Egypt VPN and profile changed to Egypt. After a month, the 6 month codes are now magically working

The G2A 6 month Egypt codes worked for me. Ended up buying x3 after my 12 month code didn't work. Hopefully Paypal is able to provide a refund as the seller is unresponsive ! Used the CyberGhost VPN if that effects anything.

    • Thank you for confirming this! @KFesting FYI

I ended up getting my remaining 6 month voucher working by speaking to Spotify over live chat. They asked for a screenshot of the voucher and of the receipt. Took about 10-15 minutes.

@siberry it might be worth mentioning in the post that video podcasts don't work on Spotify Egypt. Just in case that's a deal breaker for some.

    • Did you just send the G2A receipt and code? They asked for a picture of the front and back of the voucher and I'm a little nervous they ban my account or something since it's obvious I'm not actually in Egypt

      • +1

I got my gift card from a different website but it says Spotify Egypt on the virtual card. Just chat to them with your VPN on and I’m sure it’ll be fine

  • +1

Update - G2A blocked my account, I was looking to respond to the sellers but have now completely lost access to my account, maybe the dodgy sellers complained. Buyer beware, you complain you lose access to your G2A account.

I've just completed this process using 12 and 6 month cards purchase through Eneba (thanks for the tip @wangasm)

I purchased separately to minimise any losses but had no issues. Ended up costing approximately $51.

    • +1

Great to hear it worked. Perhaps the seller others reported turned dodgy

    • Following your lead but have had problems purchasing on Eneba with PayPal. Did you use Prezzee like wangasm or PayPal? Cheers

  • Hi all,

Can I change my location back to Australia after I've added the non-Australian gift cards?

    Thanks.

    • +1

You can, but you will need to do step 6-9. Even if you leave as individual, it’ll still shorten the term.

      • @siberry thanks. Will leave as is for now and see how it goes.

        • How is this going for you? I'm looking to do the same (retain individual account).

          • @michaeli: @michaeli it's working well so far. I still get access to all my playlists, recommendations based on the songs I listen to, etc.

If I scroll further down the app, there are one or two specific categories with recommendations for Indian music. They don't really bother me. Might even be a good way to discover new music we like which we wouldn't have otherwise 😀

G2A 12 month EGYPT code from seller Gaming4you is not working. Even Spotify support agent wasn't able to activate the code from his side. He replied it's invalid and I should apply for a refund from seller. The order is put on Hold @ G2A but no refund yet. Opened a support case on PayPal with all the details and proofs supplied. Let's see.

    • Thanks for the update. Fingers crossed!

    • you may want to try the codes again with Egypt VPN and profile changed to Egypt. After a month, the 6 month codes are now magically working

Can confirm that G2A seller ultimate_choices and Eneba Giftery - both had issues with redeeming 6 month gift cards. I only had luck with redeeming the 1 month gift cards… no luck with refunds to date, will keep you guys posted

  • +1

I managed to get a (conditional) partial chargeback for the 12 month code by disputing the transaction.

Perhaps would have been easier if I’d purchased each code as a separate transaction.

I've just purchased 12-mth and 6-mth cards from Eneba… Neither has worked and Spotify support have advised both are invalid codes :(
They were unable to activate them for me

Thanks for the update! Can confirm, it works now. I thought here I go losing the money, glad it's all good now.

      • Yay!

    • Thank you, can confirm my 12 month code also works now. Still, wouldn't recommend anyone using these giftcards as both PayPal and G2A rejected my claims initially when the code was nto working.

  • Got sick of travelling all over the world to purchase a cheap family spotify sub so bought directly in Australia. Not ideal for a family of 4 but still cheaper than 4 premium individual slots. I wish you could buy 4 and not 6 slots.

  • -1

Thanks, but I don't want my spotify connected to some shithole country like egypt or india.

    • Enjoy staying poor

      • +1

He’s got a point, there are lots of missing tracks in Egypt due to censorship

        • Ah I thought it was just racism

  • +1

Just beware of the fact that Egypt being a sheethole country you will not find many explicit songs due to their sheet government censorship. I ended up changing my country out of frustration because I couldn’t listen to anything from bands like Lindemann for example. Also, I was fed up with their Ramadan bs playlist suggestions. This shortened my premium by about 6 months out of the 18 I had originally.

I wonder if India is the same in terms of censorship?

  • Has anybody had any issues with family members and trying to join your account?

I have one getting the following error, and now I'm thinking I just threw away $66 lol

    You can't join this plan.
You can join someone else's Premium plan only once every 12 months.

  • +2

who is looking at this deal again due to latest price increase :)

  • I may have missed this but when your gift card runs out, do you need to cancel subscription, VPN over, add gift cards in and then start the family plan again?

  • Did anyone else receive this email?

The price of Premium Duo is changing from A$17.99/month to A$19.99/month.

We’re increasing the price of Premium Duo so that we can continue to invest in and innovate on our product offerings and features, and bring you the best experience.

Since you’re already a Premium subscriber, you will pay A$17.99/month until your billing date in May when your subscription will go up to the new price.*

Thanks for being a fan of Premium.

    The Spotify Team.

    • Yep, but family. A$20.99 up to A$23.99.

Check the date of your next payment though. The price increase in soon but you might be paid up for awhile longer.

  • +1

Can anyone confirm what the latest is on this deal? Does it still work? Do the egytpian gift cards work and if so what seller was used?

Or is the alternative now Indian gift cards and if so provide the link that works

    Thanks!!

  • -1

Did anyone just get an alert that says ‘quick reminder from premium: your premium plan expires in a few weeks and you’re set to lose access to your benefits’. But my account is still in credit…

  • So I grabbed the 12 month global Spotify deal for 37.99 AUD.(Listed in USD on G2A. It works at the moment. I was hoping it was a gift card and some sort of new user promotion. Unfortunately, it's an email address attached to a Turkish Spotify family account with six other random accounts. On the plus side, it's easy to set up. On the minus it seems pretty sketchy and you can't use your existing account.

  • I still got some credit on OlduBil for Turkish method 2 from prev deal page, but when trying following the instructions it simply errors out when trying the payment. Anyone knows why?

  • +2

Just tried and bought 12months + 6 months of spotify premium for ~ $82 AUD. Then proceeded to follow instructions.

Not sure if i did something wrong or if pricing has recently increased but I've gotten 6 full months of spotify Family, "you will next be billed on the 27th October 2024".

So a family plan split 6 ways should equate to
    $82/6 months = $13.66 per month
$13.66/6 people = $2.27 per person per month

I'm also assuming i have to cancel or redeem Egyptian codes again in the future to continue this pricing otherwise I'll be charged the $23.99/month.

Hope this helps anyone looking to try (more recently than post)

    • Shouldnt this be $82/18 months?

  • will this work for the upcoming spotify hifi

  • Anyone with a spare family spot send me a PM on cost to join yours. I recently cancelled my individual.

  • So how does this work for existing Family plans?

Do all members need to be re added? Or can the Sub owner do all of this and the family members do nothing?
Just want to avoid dicking around the people of the plan if I can

    TIA

    • The members need to be re-added

  • So where's the best (Cheapest) place to buy these from?

  • +1

Title needs updating, its no longer ~$48 for 18 months of Spotify Premium, Its $55 for 12 months or ~$82 using the 3 x 6 month g2a vouchers.

  • I'm still kicking strong on this method - paying month by month in TLR for a duo account (works out to be $3.80/month for duo). You need an android device—or download bluestacks if you don't have one.

    • Mine stopped working a while ago :(

Which bank is your credit card with out of interest?

      • +1

Started with comm, switched to ANZ.

        • You are lucky! ANZ doesn't work for me.

          • @JimmyF: Are you linking it to your Turkish Google Play account? I've not had any problems linking any Australian CCs to it.

            • @freekay: Cards are linked but when going to pay you get the dreaded, "Something went wrong. transaction could not be completed" error from Spotify. Its when the card issuer doesn't match the country.

              • +1

@JimmyF: I did a summarised writeup for someone else asking, earlier, so I'll post it here as well, in case you want to have another go:
Only if you have an android device with VPN to Turkey (or are willing to mess around with bluestacks, but even then it's iffy).
                1. On your Android device, delete Spotify if it's installed and restart the device
                2. Create a Google Play account—make sure you set your region to Turkey (Google a random address in Ankara, also make sure you save that address somewhere)
                2. Link you preferred payment method to your Turkish Google Play account
                3. On your Android Device, switch over to your Turkish Google Play account
                4. Download Spotify with the Turkish Google Play account
                5. Turn your VPN on (Turkey), open the app and create a new Spotify account, choose your Turkish Google Play account as your payment method
                6. Make sure you see prices in TLR, otherwise it didn't work
                7. If you signed up to Duo or Family, you will need to create new accounts for them as well (remember the Turkish address you saved earlier? Make sure you use the exact same one). Then you can use the link from the main account to register your family.
                8. Profit
After you finished sign-up, you won't need to run the VPN to use Spotify

                • @freekay: Thanks for the write up. I'll give it another go.

I've got a old android phone that I'm using as my Turkish burner, so I've done pretty much 99% of what you have listed other than creating a new Spotify account. I did change my Spotify to be in Turkey but its failing. But might have to try a new one.

  • How does this work for renewal?

  • +2

    I did this method today.

I need a family account and it now only converts to 6 months, not 7.
I purchased the 12 and 6 month gift cards from Eneba for $75.29, I purchased Eneba gift cards from Prezzie, thus reducing card service charge fee.

Works out to be $12.55 per month instead of $23.99.

  • Has anyone tried to top-up their current account?
I signed up for 18 months, now over 6 months in, wondering whether I can buy another 6 month gift card and redeem it to extend out current sub.
Anyone know if this would work?
    Thanks.
