  • 1 per customer damn I wanted 5.

  • its a grew import btw guys its not going to be here in Australia on launch from the look of it.

    • -1

      Whats a grew import?

    • Everyone knows its grey import? It says on the title..

  • +1

you can pretty much get a fully speced out macbook pro for that price lol.

    • Target market for this beta model already has one

    • No? MacBook Pros can be speced to $10k+

      • +1

Your talking about custom ones. If u get top spec off the shelf macbooks pro they cost about the same as the vision pro

  • +1

Would a sealed one be a better investment than stock in 20 years time given how much a first gen iPhone sold for

    • Feel like this is different, iPhone didnt have major predecessors.

This has Vive and Oculus which are not as good but very similar

    • I doubt it. Too many people would be doing it this time around compare to before.

  • +8

    Where is the bargain?
    Is this OzBargain or OzPre-order?

  • +7

This is no deal. It's a pre-order for above MSRP without the proper face measurements.

  • +1

Imagine got rejected to claim for warranty in Apple Store

  • One of these, or a dozen+ Meta headsets to populate sweaty VR battleroyale / minecraft teams?

  • What the flip! Who is buying these! I heard 180,000 people ordered these? Damn.

    • +4

      Insanity

    • It’s like people spending 2k on a GPU, oh wait…

      • +1

Haha yeh 2K Gpu is crazy but this is even worse!

  • +4

Can I connect my flesh light to it ?

  • +2

    Late stage capitalism products.

  • +1

this would only be good if it worked as a stand along computer. that you could hook up a keyboard and mouse to.

    • "this would only be good if it worked as a stand along computer."

this is what I'm actually going for at the moment. I want to stand at my computer like it's a kiosk instead of sitting at a desk.

problem I am having right now is most gear that is out there for it is medical/commercial grade stuff and extremely expensive. so I am having fun looking for "cheap ways" to achieve it. ideally I want wheels on the kiosk so I can move it around so currently looking at kitchen racks/carts on amazon top level needs to be tall enough though. one of the wood ones with shelves below would be perfect because I can put the PC on there and have everything connected to mounted powerboard which means only one cable to the wall to worry about.

  • +4

You have to be insane to pay this just to have a virtual reality experience
You will use it may be few hours few months later the adrenaline ran out you are less of 6k from your pocket
    I just can not justify
Apple surely king of making people bankrupt

    • Not if you own Apple shares. I'm sure you're loving products like this!

      • +3

If you bought them recently there are much smarter investments.

    • +1

I have a quest 3 since the last 2 weeks and I have used it like 2 hours. I already have a quest 2 though. And this 6.5K thing dont even have content or games. Just nothing other than a browser and a few native apps from apple.

  • +4

LOL please take my money Apple so I can look like a bell-end.

    • +2

You don’t need to give any money to Apple for that.

      • +1

Cliche Reply Award goes to you, well done 👏 🏆

    • +1

You don't need to do anything to look like that. Didn't know someone already insulted you.

      • Yeah, they beat you at being the OzB comedian.

    • +1

I thought the bottom word on your pic was "EDGING". 😂

      • Lol it can be, if you want it to.

  • +1

Thanks, OP. Just bought 3 of these.

    • But are three enough?

  • That’s quite cheap (for Apple) for the internal storage upgrade to 1TB.

  • +3

Hoping to win Thursday Powerball jackpot so I can afford to buy one…

    • +1

Even with 200 million one would think twice.

  • Oh wow… only $6349? Bargain!

And here I am feeling guilty I don't get much use out of the PSVR2.

  • +6

How is this a deal?, may as well buy a new high end pc and still got spare for a good VR. Sorry no offense to OP but Apple just outrageous slap their customer with this kind of price

    • -1

Some people will see very reasonable use cases for this. You can't lug around a high end PC and some VR glasses and do comfortable eye-strain-resistant multi-screen office on the go, for example. You might be able to with AVP. Reviewers will tell us soon.

But sure, it's not for everyone. Nothing ever really is.

      • +4

wasnt that the quest is for? quest 2 come around ~400. It is standalone, does not need computer

  • One step closer to Wall-E

  • Cheap compared to M$ hololens and associated military scam in the US (tens of billions). Can't wait for the $5b 'cyber shield' in Aus.

  • +1

I will get one for Zoom meetings when working from home.

  • +2

While it's a cutting edge piece of device, it is first gen. Apple tech always trickles down a few generations later anyway but kudo to first gen adopters. Your money, your choice.

  • +3

This is insane. I'm waiting for it to drop below $6320.

  • +2

As with anything Apple, wait for version 2.0 to buy - they'll have ironed out the worst bugs by then, and their manufacturing will have worked out how to make it at least 2x as good.

    • +2

Exactly! I bought a 1st Gen Apple watch, and it was horrible. Then I switched to 4th Gen and I am loving it.

  • Thanks OP. Just bought 3.

    • +2

Not fair to buy all of them :(

  • +3

Not a deal, Kogan have bad support and you miss out on the Apple stuff you get buying direct.

  • OP tell us where the deal is please? It's substantially cheaper to import yourself so how is this a deal?

    • It's not easy to import it yourself unless you have a friend you really trust. Apple doesn't like freight forwarders and have been known to cancel orders being sent to them.

  • +1

    Not a deal. It's a pre-order above MSRP from a shoddy supplier.

  • -1

The most expensive apple product ever? How is Microsoft Hololen?

  • Be warned anyone looking to import these you’ll need to use an American iTunes account as none of the apps or content will be available outside the US until it’s released in Australia officially.

  • +1

Price isn't surprising considering it's from the company that bought you the $999 aluminium monitor stand.

    • I bet they made a price mistake and turned out one iDiot bought it for the price and they decide to left it as it is

      • They did it for the free news coverage and attention from outrage baiting

  • I’m going to buy one of these (hey, I can afford it and why the hell not), but from Apple.

I don’t think this is a bargain though.

    • Weird flex, but ok.

      • -1

How is someone stating they're going to buy a product on a page about the product a weird flex?

        • Generally speaking, there's no requirement to indicate you can afford a purchase unless you intend on stealing it. Quite clear I would have thought.

  • Grabbed 5 thanks!

  • Thanks op bought two for the kids

  • Is this a joke post because I found it hilarious lol

  • Wat is it? For that much, wat is it supposedly do? Make all your dreams come true or turn everything into nightmares?

    • +1

      VR pr0n.

      • +2

For all that 360° goodness, there must be a more viable and realistically affordable alternative, dammit!

        • +2

You need the iSuck as well though, picture a flesh light, but with Apple's next gen neural engine.

      • "VR pr0n"

        yea maybe in 2022.

desire for intimacy means it's basically ERP with transG furries on vrchat now.

  • +1

One must really hate money to buy this.
But hey there's people spending 2.5 grand (I'm thinking of iPhones or Samsung S twenty something) every year to buy the same phone as the previous year, a phone that does for the 90-95% of things the same exact things as a 500 dollar phone… so there's a market for this.

    • Because they need the latest and greatest to keep up with their friends. How could they possibly live life with last years model just to browse TikTok? They need a flagship model for this.

      • +1

yes, too much money in the hands of too stupid people

        • A fool and their money are easily parted.

        • Can't take it with you - might as well let it help enjoy life, pliantly of it out there.

          • @Sal in SA: well, if enjoying life means handing you money to Tim Cook, or Samsung, in exchange of basically the same thing over and over… I don't want to live on this planet anymore!

            • @liongalahad: Naw, normally get 2 - 2.5 years out of phone - at that point been abused enough.

  • Apparently limited edition - could get good return on investment

  • +4

Future generations won't be able to buy a house but they'll maybe be able to buy one of these on a 30 year mortgage and maybe buy some land in the meta verse with their remaining crypto

    • meta verse

Given full time avg wage is pushing $100k - am sure most will still be just fine.

      • +1

Australia combined is 90k. Melbourne is 75k. Big difference.

        • -1

And $70k is entry lvl grad level positions - watch it jump next ABS yearly update - norm around march or so

      • +3

The average is a deceiving figure when majority of workers earn a lot less than it.

      • +1

Average is a pretty useless measurement for income, median is better and is much less than $100k

  • +3

I'll wait for the Louis Vuitton collab. Should only cost an extra $3k for the gaudy LVLVLVLV strap.

    • +1

Lol yep, the best way to portray the illusion that you're making bank, when in reality, you're eating Maggi noodles on the daily. It's always the ones who can't afford it, that want people to think they can.

      • +4

        Maggi noods too salty
        Nissin ftw
or at least mi goreng dammit

    • What makes you think we'll get a LV collaboration before a Hermes one?

We're yet to see what Bellroy, Peak Design, dBrand and the like come out with before luxury collaborations~

  • Waiting for the next version. Apple has shown consistently that their second attempt at everything is markedly better than their first (before they go into varying degrees of incremental updates). iPad, iPhone, MacBook Air, etc…

  • +1

    Great News!
Apple VR only for 3 kidneys! Down from 4! Dont miss out!

  • +1

    not a deal or bargain

  • OzOvErPrIcEd

  • can god give me three kidneys in my next life so I can afford it?

  • I don't have anything against apple, I do see it's appeal. but it's quite a reflection of the brand power when there's 70 odd upvotes on a 6k product that no one has tried, when the nearest comparable product is perhaps 20% of its price

  • +2

I rather buy a second hand car!
