Welcome to the ultimate guide of Netflix subscriptions (Turkey Edition)

Netflix has once again rolled out a 2nd price hike for Türkiye within 4 months. Please see the statistics section below for an interesting read. Luckily, Netflix's Password Sharing restrictions still do not apply to Türkiye.

This guide is the latest updated guide I've made so far. There are 2 complete methods to sign up. Please show some love and any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

  • Turkey is no longer the cheapest country for a Netflix subscription on all tiers, after they keep increasing prices every few months.
    • However, obtaining a Turkey-based Netflix Gift Card is extremely easy and effortless, making it one of the easiest and therefore cheapest country to sign up with.
  • Pakistan is the cheapest country for all Netflix plans, however, obtaining a Pakistan-based Netflix Gift Card to sign up is almost impossible. Egypt is the next cheapest, but impossible to sign up for the same reason. If you have a bank card locally from these countries, feel free to sign up directly otherwise.

Please see @Scrooge McDeal's post for Netflix Kenya, which is slightly cheaper than Netflix Turkey. However, note that some members have had their memberships cancelled and payments refunded.

Instructions – Method #1 (Using Turkey Netflix Gift Cards)

Please read the following instructions carefully. Use this method if you want Netflix to charge your Australian debit/credit card each month OR you would like to use Turkey Netflix Gift Cards moving forward.

Part 1 - Ensure you have your Australian mobile number and debit/credit card saved in your account

Complete either steps (a) or (b), depending on your current situation, BEFORE moving to Part 2

a. If you currently have an Australian Netflix subscription:

  1. Make sure your Australian mobile number is saved and verified in your account. See this screenshot

  2. Make sure your current or new debit/credit card is saved and verified in your account. If your payment method is PayPal, remove this immediately and replace it will a debit/credit card.

  3. Once you’ve triple checked your mobile is added and verified, simply cancel your subscription and wait until the end of the renewal period (i.e. keep watching until the sub expires. Don’t let your sub go to waste since you’ve already paid for it). Once your subscription has expired, go to Part 2 or Part 3

b. If you DO NOT have a current Australian subscription:

  1. Sign up and subscribe to any Australian Netflix plan (preferably the lowest cost basic plan - don’t worry, you’ll get your money back). Do not use PayPal to sign up, it must be a debit/credit card.

  2. Once you’ve signed up, make sure your Australian mobile number is saved and verified in your account. See this screenshot

  3. Make sure your current or new debit/credit card is saved and verified in your account.

  4. Once you’ve triple checked your mobile is added and verified, go to Netflix Live Chat and tell them you “would like a full refund since you’ve changed your mind” - they usually don’t ask why but if they do make up some random excuse like “my sibling just signed up” or “you don’t want it anymore” etc. This should be a very fast step and take you only several minutes. The account cancellation will be effective immediately and the refund will arrive in a few hours or days

  5. Once your subscription has expired (should be immediate as you’ve cancelled it for a refund through live chat), go to Part 2

Part 2 - Signing up via Netflix Turkey

Please ensure your subscription has completely ended/expired before signing up to this deal (i.e. when you can no longer watch anything and Netflix asks you to resubscribe or restart your membership)

  1. Purchase a Turkey Netflix Gift Card (any value is fine, even if it's not enough to cover the full month)

Note: Choose a reputable seller and make an account so you have a record of the purchases if anything goes wrong. I recommend Turgame (I've bought Turkey Apple GC's from there and they have fast delivery (at night time AEST), they charge the same price as the gift card value and the payment gateway fee is very low) or g2a

  2. Once you’ve received your gift card, it’s time to redeem your gift card and sign up to Netflix Turkey at the same time. Make sure from Part 1 that you have not logged out. You must stay logged in to your Australian account. If you’ve logged out, please log back in now with VPN turned off (Logging into your Australian account with a VPN on gives an error)

  3. Activate a VPN service, turn it on and set it to Turkey (Istanbul is the largest city). There’s many free VPN’s if you don’t have a subscription to one. Here's a few great VPNs that work:

    Nord VPN: https://nordvpn.com/ (recommended, paid)
    Urban VPN: https://www.urban-vpn.com/ (recommended, free)
    Windscribe VPN: https://www.windscribe.com/ (recommended, free)
    Express VPN: https://www.expressvpn.com/
    PureVPN: https://www.purevpn.com/

Note: Use chrome browser plugins for these VPNs where possible

Possible Problem 1: If you use Windscribe VPN and set it to Turkey, sometimes it defaults to random serves and therefore random cities of Turkey that will give you the wrong pricing (ideally, you want Istanbul). In this case, keep turning off and on the VPN until it switches to a different server/location. Confirm the location by refreshing this page: https://whatismyipaddress.com/. If this fails, change your VPN provider.

  4. With VPN on, open a new tab and go to the following Netflix site to redeem your gift card See this screenshot:

    https://www.netflix.com/tr-en/redeem

Possible Problem: On the plan selection page, the currency is not in Turkish Lira
Possible Solution: The problem is due to your VPN. Double check or change your VPN if needed

Possible Problem: When redeeming the Turkey Netflix Gift Card, it gives an error (code invalid, etc)
Possible Solution: The problem is due to your VPN. Double check or change your VPN if needed. If after several VPNs and this issue still occurs, try to reach out to your place of purchase due to them possibly issuing you an incorrect code

  5. Follow the prompts of the sign up process. This screenshot will show the first page after applying the gift card. Click "Next" to land on this page. Choose the plan you want, then click "Next" to land on the payment page in step 6

  6. Proceed by choosing a backup payment method. Be careful with this step and look at the screenshot!

    • If you did Part 1 instructions correctly then your payment method is already saved within your account - in this case, press "skip this step" at the bottom. On the next page, click "Next" (see screenshot). Now Netflix will want to confirm your details to make sure it is correct as per (this screenshot). Double check, tick the checkbox and start your membership!

    • Otherwise, if for some reason you haven't done Part 1 correctly or your debit/credit card has expired, you will have to add a new debit/credit card (see screenshot). Beward this may prompt you for a Turkey number verification (which I guarantee you don't have otherwise you would have done Part 2) - if this happens, please complete Part 1 again (see fix below)

Possible Problem: After entering your debit/credit card details, it asks for a Turkish mobile number
Possible Solution: Two causes for this. Cause (1): the problem is due to your VPN - Double check or change your VPN if needed, then go back to step 4. Cause (2): This is because you've entered a new debit/credit card. In this case, please click back on your browser and avoid entering a new card by pressing "skip this step" at the bottom. If this option does not appear, please restart Part 1 and ensure you save the card you wish to use as a backup payment.

Possible Problem: My debit/credit cards keep declining, and I'm unable to subscribe
Possible Solution: It's likely the problem is due to your VPN. Double check or change your VPN if needed and restart the whole process. However, if VPN is not the problem, you can continue to subscribe without a backup payment method (i.e. start your subscription with just the Gift Card you bought), and then afterwards you can contact live chat and tell them you need to update your payment method by asking them to send a payment form popup (this will allow you to add a credit/debit card and save it into the account). If the agent refuses or has no idea what you’re trying to say, end the chat and start a new one.

Note: If you bought a gift card that has a higher value than your selected plan, you’ve just used your gift card to pay for the first month, as well as partially for the second month. For the second month, Netflix will deduct the remaining of the gift card, and the remaining balance will come out of the credit/debit card you’ve inputted, and from thereon each month Netflix will keep charging your bank at those rates (be aware many banks like Commonwealth Bank have a small international transaction fee but this is only a few cents extra. Suncorp and Latitude Platinum have no international fees). Besides this, you should be saving >$100 AUD each year at least ($200 saving annually for the premium plan)

Instructions – Method #2 (Using your Australian Debit/Credit Card, Requires PingMe App for Turkey SMS Verification)

Please read the following instructions carefully. Use this method if you want Netflix to charge your Australian debit/credit card each month.

Part 1 - Ensure you have your Australian mobile number and debit/credit card saved in your account

Complete either steps (a) or (b), depending on your current situation

  5. Once your subscription has expired (should be immediate as you’ve cancelled it for a refund through live chat), go to Part 2 or Part 3

Part 2 - Signing up via Netflix Turkey

Please ensure your subscription has completely ended/expired before starting Part 2. It has completely ended when you can no longer watch anything and Netflix asks you to resubscribe or restart your membership

  1. With VPN off, log into your Netflix account

  2. Activate a VPN service, turn it on and set it to Turkey (Istanbul is the largest city). There’s many free VPN’s if you don’t have a subscription to one. Here's a few great VPNs that work:

    Nord VPN: https://nordvpn.com/
    Express VPN: https://www.expressvpn.com/
    PureVPN: https://www.purevpn.com/
    Windscribe VPN: https://www.windscribe.com/
    ExpressVPN: https://www.expressvpn.com/

Note: Use chrome browser plugins for these VPNs where possible

Possible Problem: You use Windscribe VPN and set it to Turkey, but it defaults to one of the cities of Turkey that is not Istanbul.
Possible Solution: You want it to land in Istanbul, Turkey, so keep turning off and on the VPN until it lands in Istanbul. Confirm it’s Istanbul by refreshing this page: https://whatismyipaddress.com/

  3. Open Netflix on a new tab and proceed to Netflix to choose your plan:

    https://www.netflix.com/

  4. Proceed by adding your Australian credit/debit card as the backup payment method.

  5. Enter a Turkish phone number for the SMS verification process.

You can use the service from "PingMe" to obtain a Turkish number for Netflix's SMS verification purposes for just a few dollars. Download the PingMe app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play store. Create an account, and recharge with "coins" (credits). 1 coin ($2.99 AUD @ App Store) is enough for 1 Netflix Turkey SMS verification, but you can also buy 5 coins ($10 AUD @ App Store) for the price of 3 in case you need it in the future. After obtaining your coins, click on the "Verification" tab on the bottom of the app and follow this screenshot: select "Netflix" for the App/Website and "Turkey (+90)" for the Country/Region. Proceed as per the PingMe app and use that to validate the Netflix SMS verification process.

  6. You're done! Enjoy your membership :)

FAQ

Q: I just signed up and when I go to watch something I get the following error: "Your account can't be used in this location"
A: New sign-ups to Netflix Turkey is subject to a local restriction lockout. This lockout period will last approximately 28-31 days after signing up. During this lockout restriction, you can still watch most shows and movies, but you must use a Turkey VPN to do so (otherwise an error will pop up preventing you from watching anything). You can turn off the VPN after the show/movie has loaded for faster connection (may or may not work). After up to 31 days, this Turkey restriction will be removed and your Netflix account will behave no different to an Australian Netflix account. This minor hassle for a month is well worth the savings in the long term.

Q: I just got a "Payment Declined - Update Payment Method" email from Netflix. What do I do?
A: This issue is being reported by many people who have recently signed up to Netflix Turkey. They seem to only a few months after signing up, but once fixed, it usually does not happen again. There are two ways to get around this issue:

  1. You can contact Netflix Live Chat and enquire about the "Payment Declined" issue. Make sure you chat with your Turkey VPN activated. If they ask, say you're in Turkey for a holiday, or came up with another excuse. Tell them that your payment has declined and you'd like to add a new credit/debit card. They should (if not, request them to) be able to send a payment form popup directly on the chat so you can add your new payment details. If the agent refuses or has no idea what you’re trying to say, end the chat and start a new one. Once the payment is accepted, the "Payment Declined" issue shouldn't occur ever again.

  2. Log into your Netflix account and update your payment method (Turkey phone number required). When you follow the prompts to update your payment method, Netflix will require a Turkish number. You can use the PingMe service to obtain a Turkey phone number for the purposes of this SMS verification. It will cost you a few dollars to buy credits for the purpose of receiving this SMS.

Q: My current card expired. How do I update to a new debit/credit card?
A: See the FAQ directly above this question. If you're sticking with the same credit card account (i.e. just getting a new/replacement card against the same account), you may not have to do anything. Your Netflix account may automatically update to your new card details, due to a connection provided by Mastercard, Visa, AMEX, etc. See here and here and here for more details, thanks to @NitroJolt.

Q: How do I add Netflix Turkey Gift Cards to my Netflix account?
A: Log in and go to account settings. Click on Redeem gift card or promo code and redeem your Gift Cards there. You should be able to do this without a VPN. If it doesn't work, try with a VPN.

Q: I get an error when redeeming gift cards?
A: This is a VPN problem. Most likely the VPN server has been flagged. Double check or change your VPN if needed. In that rare 1% chance it's not a VPN problem, you may have a troubled gift card.

Q: Will I need to turn VPN on everytime I watch Netflix?
A: No! You no longer need to have VPN on every time you watch a show or movie. VPN is only required for sign up. After sign up, use Netflix without a VPN and you will have access to the Australian Netflix library.

Q: I want to watch a show/move that is only available from another region or country. Can I do this?
A: If you want to watch a show or movie that is region locked to another country, you can do so by setting your VPN on your phone, laptop or PC to that particular country to watch it. Yes, you will need a VPN service for this, and most VPN providers should work.

Q: I got charged a different rate compared to the prices on this post. What happened?
A: Due to foreign exchange rates constantly fluctuating, prices will differ by several cents each month

Q: I have an existing Netflix subscription, can I use the same email?
A: Definitely!

Q: My bank blocked my payment, what do I do?
A: Some banks block 1st attempt and then text to confirm it's you. Once you reply, 2nd attempt may work. If after several attempts it does not work, just go through the Gift Card method and avoid the pain

Q: Is signing up to Netflix Turkey going to affect my Netflix library/catalogue?
A: After setting up this sub, you may or may not notice the Netflix catalogue may be weird with brand new shows, etc… It might not even change anything, but if it does change, your Netflix catalogue will adjust to what you’re watching and soon it will look like nothing ever happened

Q: GST/VAT and Tax related questions?
A: See here. Don't worry, there really isn't any tax you need to worry about.

So everyone lost their profiles. Seems like the only way to transfer the profiles out is to activate a plan… Anyone have any tips to get around this?

    • Buy a 100tl gift card to reactivate

I used the Netflix Turkiye gift card and went in, account is active at the moment but whenever I play something it says my account can't be used on this location. Bummer!

    • where you using a VPN?

    • I am not entirely sure if I effed up the procedure. I logged into my netflix account with the turkey VPN on and then redeemed the GC. Not sure if that made it geolocked.

      • +2

When I topped up using another code (200TRY) I didn't use vpn. Not geolocked and not cancelled. Was 2 days ago.

        • Maybe it's better to use the gift code without VPN.
I got locked by using it with vpn

        • Yeah, that's what I thought so. Since I did not logged in initially with the AU Netflix.

        • I have cancelled my current sub, will let the GC run out and then try it again but with the VPN disabled before logging in to Netflix. Oh well..

          • +1

@aphexx: but the price will shown as AUD instead of TRY without VPN

            • @andyken: All I need is to log in first to Netflix without VPN, that will set the acct geolocation to AU then once logged in activate the Turkish VPN then redeem the GC. That way it will not be geolocked to Turkey, if my theory is correct.

              • +1

@aphexx: I went netflix without vpn and then redeemed with vpn, still geolocked with viewing. only works with vpn on.

                • @superbass: Thanks for the input. I might want to try the same steps as I have mentioned but in incognito mode.

Been using Turkey Netflix for years and today got booted out and asked to sign-up - maybe they've caught on!

    • +9

      maybe they've caught on

      Ya think?

Cancelled my sub after the last price increase so was supposed to expire on 5 March but got booted today as well. Lost 10 days of use. Oh well…

  • Account was deactivated today. Tried to re-activate by buying some Turkey GCs. When going to the account page while using Urban VPN (Turkey), I was not able to redeem the GC. It displayed, "An error occurred during gift redemption - please try again later.".
Now when I tried again using incognito mode, the browser just displayed "Service Unavailable". Cant even get to the the site.
    FML!

    • Looks like was an issue with Urban VPN browser extension. Tried with PIA and managed to reactivate the account by redeeming the GC. But when playing something, I get an error saying "Your account cant be used in this location…".
      Still FML!

Mine.membership.was suspended aswell, i was using a legitimate turkish credit card, from my mother that lives in turkey. They must be flagging accounts that have been using their membership outside of turkey.

    • Hopefully in 30 days will be back to normal

  • Just checked my CC transaction found that they changed from NETFLIX.COM Amsterdam to Netflix.com Los Gatos, may be the reason why they kick us out.

Same, been using Netflix Turkey for years and today it's gone. Guess that's the end of Netflix for me, do they actually think people are gonna sign up to the overpriced oz prices? Surely them getting $10 a month from all of us is better than $0 a month…

Very sad message when opening the app on LG webos tonight. Was fine last night.

Same here, membership cancelled with no notification or refund for rest of plan. I'm certainly not paying them $25 per month locally to get the same thing

  • Has anyone managed to jump over to india? i was using a Wise card with the turkish account, not sure how to change the address

    • +9

I jumped over to india and it worked.. Here are my steps:

      1. Logged into PC on Netflix with VPN (using surfshark)
      2. It asked for membership restart and price came up as 649INR ( roughly AU12$) for premium account
      3. Gave westpac debit card and an Indian phone number (use quackr.io or sms24.me) for verification
      4. Payment went through on the same Netflix turkish account.
      5. Signed out of VPN and signed in on TV and voila! it worked on TV as well as mobile.

      Good luck everyone.

      • Step 3 free or you have to pay to get Indian number?

      • can confirm this works with my (bankwest) world mastercard as well.

they didn't ask for an indian phone/mobile number. not sure when it was required?

decided to just get 1080p for 449 INR (~8.49 aud).

      • thanks for sharing. but wondering if the same thing would happen with Netflix just kicking us out randomly halfway through the payment period on Netflix India.

      • Cheers

Also didnt ask for phone number.

Used my Bendigo Ready Credit Card.

      • +1

Thank you for your method. I got India to work with the same account that Turkey booted me out with. No phone number was asked by Netflix India.

      • Cheers! Turkey sub was cancelled out of the blue and this worked perfectly on the same account without asking for an Indian phone number

      • Do they do the region block for 30 days or its smooth sailing?
Also wasnt sure if i read correctly but do they stop account sharing or its all good?
        TIA

        • No region block, worked immediately. No VPN required.

I am now sharing the account with 1 friend only who lives nearby.

Before the change, I was sharing with my sister as well who lives in a different country.

      • Can confirm this works with Revolut virtual card, no Indian number required (maybe because I am using the same Netflix account that got cancelled?).

Interestingly, I first tried getting into Netflix Pakistan which looks to be the cheapest now but Netflix didn't allow me to login (says incorrect password but pretty sure everything was correct).

    • I can confirm, that India works fine with 28degree, no phone is needed as well. no geolock

      • I may try it later, if everyone a/c still hold.

        • got canceled today, so no go

  • Ah well it was good while it lasted. Had a TV box from overseas with all Netflix programs on it anyway so I'll jump back to that then :)

  • From what I have read it seems if you use Netflix from a fixed device i.e. television etc it seems to be blocked. So if you stream on a phone etc it should be fine as long as there is nothing on the account to link back to a payment method that is not Turkish.

  • +1

I wasn’t even using my Netflix, so ~$9 per month saved for me

  • +4

I was able to sign back up.

    1. Logged into Netflix AU
    2. Turned VPN on (I'm using Getflix with their OpenVPN access)
    3. Went to https://www.netflix.com/YourAccount
    4. Selected Redeem a Gift Card
    5. Entered my 100TL GC purchased from Turgame earlier this morning
    6. Selected Premium, allowed me to select any plan without having the full balance, so next billing is 8 March
    7. Allowed me to skip the backup payment method, so no need to enter a Turkish phone number via PingMe or sms-activate.
    8. Kept VPN on, mirrored my PC screen to my Samsung TV and started watching that way

Can also confirm that using the Getflix app to VPN to Turkey on mobile, and watching via the Netflix app works perfectly fine if you're okay with mobile streaming. Will report back in 30 days to see if they remove the geoblock so I can watch on my Apple TV.

    • Seems my account is blocked, I can't sign in, it just says something went wrong try again later.

      • Is this with or without the VPN on?

        • It only lets me login when VPN to turkey. Then I need a turkey number. Account seems locked to turkey.

          • @reactor-au: Yeah it will be locked for the next 30 days, then unlocked

(presuming you don't get cancelled before then)

  • +2

Just got India to work. Turned on VPN before trying to reactivate and used 28degrees to sign back up. RIP Turkey

    • would you mind sharing the detail steps, please.
I tried the above steps by @shivaussie, but using 28 Degrees instead of Westpac, and it gave me payment method error.

Ok, we were taking the Mick, but $23, $17 just for one person to watch it! Sod that for a joke. Just greedy after all the profit they made during Covid. I'll be watching Prime, SBS and ABC/BBC.

Netflix content was mostly back row of the video store anyway.

Yep looks like my account has been deactivated as well. Been using Netflix Turkey for a few years now and all of a sudden get an error message "Sorry but this account is no longer active. Please sign up or sign in to a different account".

No email about deactivating the account so was a bit confused on what was going on.

  • I followed the steps for using the gift card, managed to use one of them. Geo-locked though!
I have two gift cards, I was able to use one of them. When i tried to top up with more gift cards it comes up with an error. Anyone managed to add more than 1 gift card before?

  • Tried changing to India (previously Turkey) with PIA, currency switches to SGD (Singapore Dollar), more expensive than Australia..

    • If you got sgd then you did not VPN to India lol

      • Definitely did, on both mobile and desktop.
Guessing Netflix reroute when using known VPN tunnels..

Also tried Nigeria which gives euro, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh all USD.

Just tried Indonesia which is converting to IDR
        Basic 720p - 65,000/AUD$6.36
        Standard 1080p - 120,000/AUD$11.74
        Premium 4k - 186,000/AUD$18.20

Vietnam correctly used dong, slightly more expensive than Indonesia.

Will probably need to try a different vpn provider..

        • Yeah PIA did this, tried with purevpn and it correctly used india for me, but that got canned anyways.

  • Welp, only kept Netflix active because it was cheap enough through Turkey, don't watch it enough to pay Australian pricing (plus can't let family use it).

Renewal was in 3 days, I assume they aren't going to charge me again…

  • They charged me on 22/2 and just got cancelled, is it possible to get refund?

    • Just raise with your bank rather than waste your time with Netflix, they are refusing everyone.

      • Love how they just say 'sorry - (we literally stole from you but) we can't do anything about that - call your bank.'

  • Same charged on 22/2 and got the error message

  • They canceled my subscription last night. Contacted help and it was due to “unusual payments”. I had the “but I’m paying” argument and it fell on deaf ears. Refused to re activate unless I went in and restarted with a new payment option.
    All good things….

    • My Account got cancelled today too

I relocated to Bulgaria. 10 euros a month (about $18 AUD). Couldn't find a free VPN that had India.

I'm furious to know why people don't go with advertisement option which is like $6 with 2 access with FHD. I used to be using premium AU and shared with friends, then I stood alone few months back and used Turkey payment and lost the activation on 24 FEB. I'm more like see if I could live without Netflix but I won't try other country with VPN but will consider of using Australian plan with Advertisement, I didn't see people talk about this option, any thought?

Firstly, it is $6.99, I would even say $7 rather than "like $6". So $3.50 per person.

Secondly, you do not get the full netflix catalogue on ad-supported plan

While the vast majority of TV shows and movies are available on an ad-supported plan, a small number are not due to licensing restrictions. These titles will appear with a lock icon when you search or browse Netflix.

Thirdly, there are also a bunch of device restrictions like you cannot use mobile device to cast to TV.

How this affects "Cast" functionality in Chromecast
Using a mobile device to watch Netflix on a TV isn't available on an ad-supported plan. To use your mobile device to watch Netflix on your TV, you'll need to change to an ad-free plan.

I was on Premium Netflix Turkey subscription, 4 people, no ads, access to all netflix catalogue for ~$12 per month ($3 per person).

It has also been mentioned in here before

But my kid is complaining that he can’t watch the last airbender cartoon show because it says locked due to licensing so looks like the ad plan has restrictions so could also affect adult content as well I guess

      • Thank you CodeXD, I was on netflix premium with Turkey for $10, but I didn't share with anyone for the cost, Netflix charged and cancelled like many of us happened. I've claimed to my bank but will take perhaps few weeks before anything confirmed.

my cost would be $10 alone and lost all and claim in process, and potentially account can be cancelled with many other VPN for Netflilx, instead 7 dollars (I only remember it was $6,xx but didn't check it's $7, anyway still cheaper.

I see there are lack of catalogues, that is what I wanted to find out of disadvantages, thanks
Third point isn't relevant as our 75" Google based TV has its own Netflix app and not using cast function,

My kids are mainly watching main programs. would you know how many are in restriction? if most of main programs can be watched, I'm good with ad plan.

what's your go with recent cancellation? another attemp to get Turkey ?

        • Your reasoning is sound given that you were on premium plan and not sharing it with anyone. The ad-support plan might be more suited for you then.

I have updated my Netflix account to TR gift cards only (no credit/debit card details stored) based on the results of this poll and currently on the 30 day region lock. So no experience with ad-supported plan as it isn't viable for me since I share it with 3 other people.

          • @CodeXD: I see. after years of sharing with 3 others (I was master holder) and Netflix keep come back to verify, I terminated the group sharing 3 months ago.
I got that you get TR gift card and activate, but how do you manage to keep with 3 people and running smoothly? I don't think I will take risk with recent changes but really curious. I know it's restricted with TV viewing not mobile but all other 3 people were viewing mainly on the TV.

            • @Ryoon:

Netflix keep come back to verify

What were they verifying? That you have logged into a new device and need you to confirm and accept? Household IP address?

On Turkey Netflix premium plan there is no restrictions whatsoever on the device you can use nor is there any sort of household IP address limitation. There is also no need to confirm new devices logging onto the account. You will get an email saying a new device is using the account but not a blocker for them to use.

This 30 day region lockout is the only issue but previously I waited the 30 days first before engaging and seeking out the other members.

              • @CodeXD: I understand 30 day region lockout matter with experience, as I was sharing with others from different home address (different IP), it trigger to use verification with 1 user, then once approve, other users require verification, then approve then other users require verification and so on. I could be wrong but that's what I experience and I terminated group. I will wait to see how others are handling this recent change with cancellation.

                • @Ryoon: I have not seen or had to do this for my TR netflix group.

      • Below is a review from actual users who tried in US I guess (SOURCE: Reddit)

Can't justify paying 20 bucks for something I don't watch that often. My plan was just subscribing when I Want to watch something and then cancel. But recently they upgraded the ads plan from 720p to 1080p and can be watched on two devices at same time and for $5.99 I decided to give it a shot and I must say I am really liking it. The ads are not intrusive like YouTube I get max 5 minutes of ads per hour which is not bad at all. If Netflix can keep this price point with this many ads, I must say this could be a win win for everybody. Only thing I miss is 4k they should bring in a 4k with ads plan too. Is anybody else on ads plan and what are your review of it.

Pro Tip: the kids profiles don't include ads. 80% of our viewing is on our kids profile so we love the ad supported tier.

Well I'm trying to watch a movie and an ad every 15 mins of show so disruptive . More worse than normal tv . I am considering dropping Netflix completely . This is why I subscribed for ad free movies and shows

I will check further of category restriction, will KIP

is it 2 diff review? 1 said max ads 5min/hr and then they say every 15mins?
