@kacak: I tried with same email and same card, didn't work. Then tried different card didn't work. Then tried different web browser and different email address and name and different card and it worked.

    • How did you manage a second round? I keep getting transaction failed. I've tried changing name, email, phone, card, address. Can't get it working.

  • Anyone with a IB account confirm if added to PayPal this can fund IB?

  • All my various VISA cards are keep failings. Both provided by ANZ & ING.

    • Worked with my ANZ credit card.

Where is it failing? OPT? contact ANZ chat and make sure they mark it as a valid transaction, and then try again.

      • @CodeXD, yes. just after OTP. Didn't know ANZ had chat option.

        • It is on the app. Was quick and easy once you let them know it is valid, they will tell you to try again. When I tried again it didn't even ask for OTP and went straight to order confirmed.

          • @CodeXD: @CodeXD. yes. I did reach out just now. They confirmed its not even reaching their side. Its mostly at merchant end.

  • Transaction failed with Suncorp as well.

  • New phone, new customer details and new card. Still failed on the second try. I gave up…

  • Will try later, looks like the website is overloaded.
No reason it works sometimes and not others.

gotta do better than that 15% of bust

    • Good luck waiting

    • Count to infinity, and HODL, bud.

  • +1

    Keep failing.

"Transaction failed, please contact customer service."

  • +1

On call with customer service - been on hold for 37 mins so far. Says 5 more mins

    • +1

Really not sure that's worth it mate unless it's something like they never sent the cards even though money was taken out. If it's just about the transaction error, probably 100+ other people on the line asking the same thing (to which CS would just tell you "we'll check on it for you" and that's it)

  • Had to use chrome incognito window (brave wouldnt load payment page).

Used ING personal direct debit card, worked first go.

  • I think they are blocking premium cards which charge higher fees :(
Tried with AMEX and CBA Smart Awards (Mastercard World) and both failed. Tried 1 card with 28 degrees and it worked fine

So people who still want to get the cards try a no frills low fee or a debit card, it should go through

    • Didn't work on my CBA and Westpac debit cards!

    • Tried 3x different debit cards, no dice

    • I only use Amex Charge and have had quite a batches go through (also a number declined)

  • Bank of Melb Worked

  • Anyone used this for Travel or flights where verification code is required ?

    • verification code is only required if your card has that feature

so if you are using these cards to buy things it won't ask as it's not registered to any mobile number

    • Was able to buy a sub $250 flight on Qf without any issues.

  • In case you someone is buying for ATO payments, It has just stopped working for ATO payments. Tried 2 of these gift cards, but Getting this:

There was an unexpected processing error. Check your account statement to confirm whether the payment was successful before you try to make your payment again.

    • Did you do 249.50?

      • Yes. It was working just a moment ago when I used couple of these cards, but it stopped now.
I guess it is blocked for ATO payments now. But others can confirm.

        • +1

Just worked for me on ATO

          • @juddy90: ok. then it might be just my ATO account that could be creating the issue. will check. thanks.

    • hey mate - did it eventually work for you? I was paying ATO after 8 successes i got this error? will try again in 1-2 days?

      • I tried it the next day but no luck on ATO website. But it worked when I used it with the alternative government website that accepts ATO payments (sorry, can't remember the exact url). You might see that website under payment options. Please share with us if you find it. else, I will try to find it once I get back home.

    • Steppay good to go

  • If you buy these with a Qantas FF credit card, will points be granted for the card purchases? I've got 30k taxes to pay - saving 3 grand + 30k qantas points is very attractive…

  • Can we use these cards to pay over the phone for organisations having no online payment systems, e.g. for school fees?

    • +2

Digital Account may be used online, over the phone or through mail order everywhere Mastercard® is accepted

      I'd say, probably yes.

    • +2

Can confirm it works. Just used it for private school fees over the phone.

    • Awesome, thanks guys for confirming.

  • a grand worth worked first go with my ubank debit card. just had to turn adblock off. thanks op!

and my gift cards showed up some 5 minutes later. 🥳

  • Sooo we can use these to buy discounted gift cards for uber eats etc. online?

  • Tried debit cards from Up, Ubank and ME and all failed

  • If you're renewing a passport, do you pay online or do you pay at the post office? Renewal is around $355 I believe these days, I'm not sure if they do split payments.

    • +1

When I renewed mine I paid at the post office

      • Thank you.

I'm tempted to try and buy enough to pay my council rates, but my rates don't come in till like September.

I've been fortunate enough not to have any problems in the past, but a lot of people obviously they get their cards hacked, does make me question.

All cards failed, even UP. What can I do?

    • +5

Share your card details here. Maybe there's a typo. Plenty of helpful ozb folk who can help check

      Amazon GC, min $1

      • Thanks! There seems to be a maximum of 3 that can be purchased each month though. I guess I will have to spend it over a couple of months.

EDIT: I was referring to Amazon GC from shopback but I guess I can just buy direct from Amazon.

    • +1

Buy GC where you can specify the amount e.g. Amazon

    • +1

amazon giftcard from amazon.com.au, minimum is $1

        • +3

This is virtually cash and you could use them to buy 10% off woolies card sooo…

        • How do you use woolies to pay utilities bills, rates and insurances?

        • +1

How do you get 10% off at Woolies?

          • @movieman: work there or family who works there probs

          • +1

            @movieman: Everyday Extra or mobile/insurance.

But best deal is to use the prepaid Mastercard to buy Wish gift cards at 5% off and then to use your woolies 10% off

            So 7.48% + 5% + 10% discount.

          • @movieman: they are lies

  • Damnit Medibank refused payment with the card…

    • Had to do 2 at a time with a cooldown period in between

      • I did one card now it won’t let me do any further payments. Says to call them.

        • Check in 5-10 minutes

          • @impoze: Yep working now. Just paid $1000 on health insurance and $1500 to ato. Easy peasy.

    • was about to pull the trigger on these thinking I can use to pay my bupa premium but will wait for someone to confirm that they can be used

      • +1

I've paid BUPA until the end of this year.

        • smart pants! I just got some as well

    • I did 4 earlier in the morning and they went through fine.

  • can someone confirm if I can use these with Bupa insurance?

    • +2

      YES

    • +1

I used it through the online one off payment option. The only issue is you can't specify the exact amount you want to pay. It only lets you select the date that you want to pay it upto so you will inevitably have some amount left over. Not sure if you could call and do it over the phone but that will probably incur credit card surcharge.
I'm going to just do one off payments and spend whatever is left over on Amazon GC.

      • I've called them to use 10 of these cards before and didn't incur any surcharge. That's just my experience altho that's ages ago when you didn't have to wait for an hour to talk to a real person. I used online one off payment this time and yes there'll be some $$ left, and I managed to do $220 and put the rest to my Origin acc (electricity) which allows me to put whatever $$ into my acc. Having said that, you do have to do this multiple times.

Tried a zillion cards incl AMEX MC and Visa (both credit and debit), devices, and names. All failed. What a joke.

    • maybe Ozbargainers crashed their servers lol

  • Has anyone tried using this to fund Stake? Is it a good use of the discount?

  • Just tried to buy with:
    Amex: No
    CBA MC: Yes

  • it is the name, email phone combination that matters. Not the card.

  • +1

Transaction failed multiple times with two different AMEX cards. Went through with Coles Mastercard.
