    • Do i have to go instore to refund, because i dont know if thats worth the 25$ discrepancy.

  • Can this stack with cash back

The OzBargain experience. Look away and enjoy your G75.

    • But how is it working out for you though?

And how does it compare to flagships of Samsung, Apple and Google for someone who just wants to browse OZBargain, Reddit, YouTube, Facebook, Insta and take a lot of pictures of his son and daughter?

      • +3

browse OZBargain, Reddit, YouTube, Facebook, Insta and take a lot of pictures of his son and daughter?

It can do these but a $260 phone can't be compared with $1000+ flagships

        • +1

This is a very good mobile, even has wireless charging; the bonus ear pods make it even better, just a little bonus that you might not need whilst still being very good value. I was surprised to see this has longer term security updates as well.

      • +1

I have an S23 Ultra as my main, and I bought the G75 as a backup. I'm super impressed with it. It feels smoother than my S23U Ultra sometimes. Camera is decent, even in low light.

The screen is IPS so doesn't look as good, but I would have no problem switching to it for basic phone tasks.

Just note it's a big phone. It's the same size as my S23U Ultra, but lighter.

    • Commiseration on your loss , but it's only money right ⁉️
Please tell me if it comes with a screen protector installed , and if not , just but of eBay ?

  • +1

    Thanks OP, pulled the trigger!

  • +1

Is it worth jumping from g54 for general usage?

    • In the same boat as you. Would like wireless charging and really want to know is the camera any better.

      • +3

Genuine question: What is the big attraction of wireless charging?
Isn't it more inefficient, slower and worse for battery health?
And you need to buy all new charging accesories.

        • I use a wireless charging pad next to bed. Much easier to just put the phone down on it and not worry about wires. Also good for working - when your phone is just sitting on the desk anyway, it might as well be on the charging pad.

        • I like it as a back up. I’ve had charging ports die on my older phones but have been able to continue to use the phone thanks to the wireless option.

    • The G75 has a better processor, much better software and security updates (up to Android 19 vs 15 G54), 4K video recording and faster charging (30W vs 15W G54).

    • +4

G75 is a very large phone, even by today's standards, while G54 is average.

      https://www.gsmarena.com/size-compare-3d.php3?idPhone1=13372…

Worth keeping in mind if you like smaller phones to fit in your pocket or whether you like larger screens on your mobile devices.

No headphone jack is a deal breaker for me

      • Good USB C DAC fixes this. $85 DAC U1DA 9038D for my G85 5G and I dont miss the headphone jack. Use the same DAC on my laptop to get some value out of it and it sounds great even on big cans or IEMs

  • Ive always loved using Oppo's as I love a good cheap well made phone. Any one have any advice between buying this Moto or sticking with Oppo? :) Seems like a banger of a deal

    • +2

There is no Oppo model at this price as good as this phone. All of them have weak processors, 720p displays and bad reviews.

      • POCO X3 NFC seems like not a huge upgrade. Just wireless charging and 5G.

        • -1

This processor is much more powerful and the G75 has 5 OS and 6 years of security updates vs the unsupported Poco on Android 12.

      • -1

        Totally untrue inaccurate analysis

    • I have just come off Realme and Oppo before that (both the same company), this is pretty decent, also we have promises of updates unlike those other two - I think I have had 2 updates in the last few months since I brought it on the original deal - one security, one version.

For the price you can't go wrong when you factor in the buds, they are decent and well worth it.

    • +4

I sell phones for a living and there is no Oppo that can compare to this for this price point. Hell i would choose this over a $600 Oppo

To be fair, the OP doesn't mention any of "ONLINE ONLY DEAL - Spend $300 -$399.99 & get $40 off OR spend $400+ & get $60 off".
He suggests adding a $6 item but nothing about why.

  • I have 7 phones 🫠 Must resist.

    • Do you have 7 wives?

    • Why didn't you sell the other phones, maybe trade in? 7 is too many unless if they are being used by your family and relatives.

      • Possibly seven accounts, one for each of Flybuys, Everyday Rewards, KFC, McDonald's, UberEats, DoorDash etc

        • Multiple user accounts in one phone is possible …

          • @neoleo: Without SMS verification? How?
            Can you shed some lights?

            • @Suricate: mulitple esims?

            • +1

@Suricate: Certain phones can have physical sim cards + more esim in just one phone. People can add multiple user accounts with their own storage and apps.

For example, you may want multiple Doordash apps in your phone. You can add new multiple user accounts with different email addresses. Then you need to install Doordash app for each user account. Each app has different email and phone numbers.

New phone numbers can be had from new free Optus esim (last 7 days), buy sim cards with cashback almost 100%, and sometimes there's free esim promotion, etc.

  • Is it worth upgrading from Edge 30 fusion, or should I go for Edge 50, or even the upcoming Edge 60?

    • Same question as you. My Edge 30 Fusion battery life has gone to crap.

      • +1

how many years has it been,

my biggest concern with any new device nowadays is battery life in like 2 + years

        • In 1 and a half years my Edge 40 battery has gone completely to crap. Emailed Motorola support, who gave me some troubleshooting steps, and then determined it's apparently with-in spec. Accu-battery shows 78% battery health, but since being on holidays and using my phone for navigation, I'm having to charge it 3 times a day.

          • @goose25: Yeah quite unfortunate.

            3 days is terrible!

My poco f3 and xiaomi mi 11i both those devices couple years old and would not last longer than 4 hours now or something.

I always have to carry a powerbank now.

But currently have a moto g54 as my main, Battery life on this is amazing but slowly but surely it'll get worse in two years I'm sure.

          • @goose25: @goose25 @BrutusB @e8s5 what speed do you charge your phones with?

            • +1

@shxhshzhz: @shxhshzhz I don't use the high speed charging, just generic normal charger, not sure what the wattage is, sorry

            • +1

              @shxhshzhz: I usually use a 35w charger. Have a 100w in the car if I need a top-up in a pinch (think the Edge 40 is limited to 68w).

Also, noticed this g75 has an IPS display which may be great for not suffering burn-in! Do IPS displays use less power?

        • Exactly 2 years. I get random crashes also especially with Bluetooth devices connected. I bought a Huawei Smart Watch and it crashed daily. Many times would take hours to come back to life sitting on the Moto screen in a boot loop.

        • I think I'm a little over 2 years, and like everyone said, the battery has dropped so much so quickly.
By lunch time I'd have around 30-40% left.
Occasionally, it would suddenly drop from something above 20% to just suddenly below 10%.
I'm quite a heavy user though, use my phone a lot everyday.

Kinda considering changing to Samsung, but I'm not sure if their battery is any better hahah.
Might be better to just get cheap Motorola phone and change every 2 years?

          • +1

@e8s5: I just hope new battery tech comes out, which seems to be happening slowly :D.

Otherwise yeah just gotta buy a phone with big capacity, low power draw from the hardware and have a powerbank spare :)

            • @AeymothSky: @AeymothSky that really seems like the only strategy right now 😅
A friend told me to just get iPhone cos they swear iPhone has better battery. Probably, but I hate iPhone's UI and design

      • +1

Its widely known that keeping your phone on charge at 100% for hours on end degrades battery longevity. An update earlier this year for the G54 introduced a new feature called overcharge protection which limits charging to 80%. Samsung has a similar feature on their Galaxy series.

        • My current phone is an LG V30+ . I've had it for over 5 years, and the battery is still going strong. Perhaps not as good as when it was new, but it'll last me the whole day, and battery is never below 50% by the end of the day. Granted, I'm not a heavy user, but that does include around an hour of use during the day with browsing and calls.

I always charge it to 100% overnight, every night. The thing is, I never rapid charge it. I just plug it into a USB 2 port on my PC, and let it slow charge. Even the phone recognises it's charging slowly, and will display a message as such.

Interestingly enough, I've jumped onto this G75 deal, because my V30+ usb port is getting a little unreliable for data connections. Power is fine, but data can take a little wriggling sometimes to get a connection.

          • @deek: The slower the charge, the better it is for the battery. USB 2.0 charging at a rate of 0.5A , it would probably take the whole night to charge. My G54 came with a 3A charger and it gets real hot, real quickly.

        • +2

The g54 has it implemented stupidly though…

It only activates when the device has been continuously plugged in for 3 days?!

I want it to always be max 80%?

So I have it on right now but yeah it always goes to 100% since I'm not keeping it plugged for 3 days straight.

The 80% limit on the samsung a15 5g I've had, does max out at 80% always.

          • @AeymothSky: The setting is hidden by optimised charging.

Assuming you are on Android 15, once you disable optimised charging, a new option will appear below it called overcharge protection.
This allows you to choose when to go to 80% rather than the OS trying to guess.

You can also disable the overcharge protection notification or set it to silent so your phone doesn't go off every time you plug it in.

            • @scalebearer: Ah, so it's introduced in the new Android 15 vers.

I've got the eligibility for the update but have not updated yet and atm don't plan to. But good to know.

My only other main issue w the g54 is the nav buttons can't be switched.

              • @AeymothSky: I'm unsure if Motorola added this as part of the Android 15 update or whether it already existed, but there are definitely settings to reverse the order of buttons for the 3 button navigation style.

I just searched "3 button navigation" in settings and the setting to reverse the order was there.

                • @scalebearer: What device are you on,

My family member has a edge 50 neo which has the option but

My moto g54 does not and online other users report the same.

                  • @AeymothSky: My G54 (XT2343-2) does.

                  • +1

@AeymothSky: G54 bought from Amaysim for $39 around the 3G shutdown with a special $200 off code that they sent me after detecting some SIMs on my account that were in use on devices that would be blocked after the 3G shutdown.

It's currently on Android 15, despite Motorola saying it wasn't guaranteed to get Android 15.

I definitely have settings for reversing the order for 3 button navigation and for overcharge protection after disabling optimised charging.

                    • @scalebearer: @scalebearer
                      @jackspratt
                      Thanks for the replies,

I'm still on the last android version 14 version so I guess I just might consider updating to android 15 if ya guys are saying they've added that.

                      Will look into it :D

      • That happened with my Edge 30 after the latest updates - found an app that had managed to acquire always on in the background priveliges - it was draining 30% of my battery overnight.

        • which app is that? My Edge 30 is also drained very quick. So annoying that it started full in morning and by lunchtime already drained empty that it turned itself off.
