Howdy folks,

A bang-for-buck budget sub $900 PC, with the new Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB card, paired with the Ryzen 5 5600 for $888. Akin to the RTX 4060 builds we've been doing on the AM4 platform - expect a decent performance uplift from the 9060 XT 8GB.

Or, we have limited quantities of the all-time-low price for the Zotac Zone gaming handheld + carry case for $699. I've been using one and they're pretty cool - an absolute bargain at the price compared to other handheld PCs.

Delivery ETAs 10-15-business days on the PCs - the Zones will ship earlier than this as they don't require assembly at around 5 business days or earlier, just giving ourselves some buffer for order processing.

All TechFast PCs are:

  • Unmatched in terms of value, $ per frame, bang for buck - you name it, it does not get cheaper
  • Fully professionally built, stress tested
  • Provided by the most active and committed OzB PC builder for 6+ years - we are here to stay while many others have come and gone, leaving Ozbargainers in the lurch
  • Plug and play with all drivers installed, no matter which OS you select
  • Fully supported by a local team via email and here on Ozbargain
  • Fully insured for transit at no extra cost
  • Fully warranted with transit covered both ways in the event of warrantable faults

    cheap!!!

    • GPU RX-9060-XT: bias & paid-reviews are every where. May be let the hype-subside & others be guinea-pigs…wait until ranking show-up-> https://www.3dcenter.org/artikel/fullhd-ultrahd-performance-…

      Real-world-performance: lower your expectations…claim 26% uplift is likely a fudge-> 'expect a decent performance uplift(gpu.userbenchmark.com) from the 9060 XT 8GB'

  • +4

    no 9060xt 16gb?

    • +2

Not in this deal - we haven't arranged any 16GB stock as yet

  • -1

$25 shipping for the zotac zone (to metro Melbourne) kinda kills it for me.

    • +1

Sure. It is just passing on the cost of the Handheld + the Carry case (both in their own boxes), inside a shipping satchel, from Adelaide to Melbourne.

      • Is pickup in Adelaide possible? I will be there from tomorrow until Monday evening…

        • +1

Yep - shipping fee is payable and refunded after pickup.

    8GB GPU in 2025 , NO Thank you.. :)

    • -5

All depends if the GPU or CPU is the bottleneck.

      • +6

Neither has anything to do with running out of vram, there are many videos and articles about it. As vid said stay away from 8gb cards…

        • +1

Plenty of new laptops with GPUs that are 8GB as well as these new GPUs. They'll have to lower texture and shadow resolution to keep them going for longer.

          • +1

@FabMan: Good for DOS games I guess.

            • @gofree: Yep, and Doom The Dark Ages too.

        • 😂

    • +13

Its literally a budget gaming rig, whoever buys this will be using 1080p, 8GB is PLENTY for 1080p

      • -1

8GB VRAM = 6GB VRAM in 2022, it's fine if you turn off / down (low~mid in 1080p) most graphic setting for new games. GPU with 8Gb VRAM or less shouldn't sell for $500 anyway.

        • +1

Yeah 8gb GPU's shouldnt be $500 let alone $550, its entry level. However the reason its set to that price is because the RX6600 is still $299 and they cant have the 9060XT be anywhere near that price.
Price is just based on FPS anyway, it scales pretty well with FPS Unless your comparing AMD to Nvidia, then its different, but in the same brand lineup, its price to performance and the 9060xt smashes the 6600, so for it to be 500 is sorta fair in a way since is x2 as quick in the 18 game average on hardware unboxed video. Double the price of the rx6600 and your at $600 dollars, so the better value is the 9060XT for $500 in terms of price to performance

    • But will this play Stardew Valley at 1080p?

  • -6

Feels like throwaway parts for $888 + delivery ($33). Save your money instead. That's still about $920 saved or put to a better system.

    • +19

PC Part Picker says $1047.30, someone has built it, and offers a warranty for the entire thing. That doesn't seem bad.

  • +4

16gb GPU and you may have the new budget KING

  • Gee Gaming Zone price is dropping fast! Must be hard to find buyers compare to Lenovo or Asus

  • This or the 4060 build from the last deals?
Had bad experiences with AMD — always ran loud and never worked as well as NVIDIA, despite the hype.

    • +4

Had good experiences with AMD.. after 29 years of using Ati / AMD products.. all good. Same with intel and Nvidia… not many issues over the years. built around 300 computers for work/office use and personal. Things fail though sometimes. nothing is made to last forever. Read reviews and check to make sure fan noise doesnt suck on the GPU AIB brand your buying from both AMD or Nvidia

  • Planning to build a racing sim. Can i run f124, iracing & Forza Horizon 5 on the AMD Ryzen 5 5600 | RX 9060 XT 8GB Gaming PC?
    Thanks!

    • +1

I think it depends very much on the spec of the monitors you're playing on.

      • I have a Dell UltraSharp U2721DE 27" 2560 x 1440 IPS Monitor 5ms 60Hz DisplayPort Hdmi USB Hub monitor. Using chatgpt it should be fine? but keen to hear your opinion.

        • +1

          Native and low setting maybe.

        • +4

will probably be fine, but you aren't building much of a racing SIM with only one small QHD monitor.

          • @xyron: Ill start out with 1 and then get more but it seems like i have to have pretty good specs on the PC AND the Monitor to run a decent setup. Still new so ill keep looking and researching. Thank you!

            • +1

@royals: Yeah the thing that kills you with racing sims is going multi monitor. eats up resources quickly.

    • It will be fine, im running triple 1080p on an 8GB 3060Ti with everything on almost maxed for my sim.

    • Frankly no. Save towards minimum 5070 Ti so you can go full Moza driving.

    • +1

Save up for a 9070/9070xt rig if you are going to do sim racing at 1440p.

  • +10

Please no one EVER use userbenchmark for PC parts comparisons.

TF should know better, shame on you!

Its good to see lots of people warning/aware of the 2025 8GB GPU issue, these GPUs are basically made for the TF (pre-built) world for unsuspecting noobies (mum and dad types)…

    • +1

Does it affect if you play at 1080p, which don't need so much memory? N00B Qn.

      • +6

Reviews show it definitely can with many modern games and hence future games too. Depends on what you play.

      • +3

Depends on the game, settings and your expectations for the money vs spending more for the 16GB. I would highly advise paying more for 16GB for the huge longevity factor alone.

But yes, even at 1080p the 8GB GPUs can suffer, I recommend watching this video (Daniel Owens) which compares dozens of games with 5060 8GB, 9060XT 8GB/16GB at various 1080p and 1440p resolutions and settings: https://youtu.be/_oV9TKa5wIM?si=P_AazvqWUOf4peMB

      • +2

Or be like me and just play 5 to 10 year old games. Still having heaps of fun. Not buying the latest and greatest allows me to spend more on other stuff like guitars

  • +2

Buy now and receive in time for the heat death of the universe!

  • +2

I would be looking for a better source for component comparisons.
    Userbenchmarks is notoriously anti-AMD.

  • +7

Userbenchmarks is not a reliable benchmarking website. 8GB VRAM GPUs in 2025 are not worth it for a new build and you'll need to upgrade the GPU almost instantly.

    • +1

Unless you just want to play older titles at 1080p.

      • +2

so basically someone who will never ever want to play a single new title at somewhat decent quality…. I'm sure new titles that don't work well currently will also reduce their vram requirements as they get old… Or maybe the person will at that point need to stick to ancient titles at 1080p …

No one said these won't work right now or even in a few years using low assets at 1080p … But let's not make bulldust excuses for billion and trillion$ companies who are at this point definitely screwing over the consumer.

        • People buying a sub $1k pc probably not playing the latest AAA games considering they almost all cost ~$100 each. This machine is perfectly fine for esports/older/lighter titles. Not defending AMD on the stingy 8GB though.

        • -1

8GB works for Doom The Dark Ages, at 1440p, on high settings. A ray traced game released in the past 30 days.

          • +1

@FabMan: yeh it works … all games work, they are just compromised. Just watch latest tests below around 8gb and PCI-E speeds, especially paired with this CPU and MB that techfast have in their specs.

I beleive there were some prebuilds listed with 16gb for about 100-150 more, this specific combo that Techfast have put together is very bad for many reasons and all stems from the 8gb vram.

            HU-PCI-E Test

            MB -
            CPU:
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, supporting PCIe 3.0 and running at x16
            Chipset:
            2 x PCI Express x1 slots, supporting PCIe 3.0

            • @scud70: Yeah, but that makes all GPU's compromised compared to a RTX 5090 that isn't running on a PCI Express 5.0 x16 slot motherboard. Cheaper, lower performance GPUs, give less performance, this seems rational. I do get your point, but really it comes down to price per frames right? If the 16GB is ~$50 more, then it is a no brainer, you have to upgrade. No one is mentioning the price difference between the two cards though.

This entire system here for $888, it will play all the latest games out at the moment at reasonable fps, even at 1440p. You may have to use DLSS with Low or Medium settings, but it is a budget system, not a mid or high tier system. I'd be happy getting this system for my two under 10 year old kids. I've seen a 9060XT 16GB for $629, which when compared to this entire system of $888, it seems quite expensive.

These tests between the two, they are using Ultra presets, why? Because they know it maxes out the VRAM. Test them against each other below the 8GB of VRAM, doing Low to Medium settings and see how the bottleneck affects it. It might then not be an issue. Hogwarts Legacy was one of the first games showing how 8GB GPUs aren't good enough any more, yet you can see optimization videos on YouTube that show the ideal settings for 8GB and it goes from mid 40s to low 70s fps, while still looking good. You can see Doom: The Dark Ages that only uses Ray Tracing running on an RTX 2060 6GB at 1080p, at high 60s to low 70s fps, just select DLSS Quality and lowest settings.

            • @scud70: Spot on, this is a terrible build with that pcie3.0 motherboard, the 8GB 9060xt is rendered unusable in so many scenarios.

              • @Grish: Initially it was just the card that I thought is not worth the hassle… but watched the HUB vid this morning and it was way worse than I expected on 3.0 so had to neg this deal as its a terrible combo…

                • +1

@scud70: Yeah me too exactly, not sure why there's a couple of guys profusely trying to defend it…

                  • @Grish: No idea, no point arguing with them just hope not too many people jumped on this deal as that combination is definitely going to have major issue's moving forward…

                    • @scud70: You love an echo chamber? Fair enough.

                  • @Grish: Because you didn't watch the video, PCIe 3.0 is only an issue when VRAM is full, if VRAM isn't full, PCIe 3.0 isn't an issue

  • +3

Please don't buy 8gb GPU when 16gb model is so close in price

    • +1

      How close?

    • then show us better deal with 16gb vram gpu that is same or lower price than this deal.

      • I never said they were the same price… I am referring to the GPU retail prices being $80 apart which should reflect on a techfast deal when they get stock and release a 9060 xt 16gb pre-built. The Pcie 3 motherboard also exacerbates the vram issue.

  • Comparison between this deal and this previous one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/905853 ? New to pcs looking to play games such as cs2, siege, valorant above 144 fps at low-mid graphics ++ any future upgradability?

  • +2

Neg, 8gb card for any new builds.

All tech reviewers are saying 8gb is obsolete on arrival, won't stand the test of time. 16gb minimum

    • +1

8GB is fine for esports, lighter/older titles, basically what will be played on a budget PC like this. They're probably getting good prices on the 8GB cards considering the 16GB ones are $600 retail on their own.

    • I saw other deal posts about pre-built with 8gb vram gpu and zero neg, why neg only this deal then?

      • cos I'm not terminally online

  • +1

    no thanks…

16gb 9060xt on pcie3 is faster than the 8gb 9060xt on pcie5 (youtube channel 'hardware unboxed' from today.)

    • Why didn't they test Medium Presets?

  • -5

    8Gb card gaming PC..

  • the zotac handheld is extremely tempting but i already have a rog ally z1e..

oled and steam deck like ergonomics is almost winning me over

  • -2

Why is tech fast giving a market for this anti consumer card. Comeon guys help the industry out by saying NO

  • Despite what the bandwagon is saying, there is definatly a market for these 8GB GPUs, especially at this price, 8gb will not be an issue at lower settings at 1080p, which is what most people spending sub $900 on a full gaming PC would be aiming for.

Some people just regurgitate what their favourite YouTuber is parroting, quite sad.

    • I live about 2 - 5 years behind in terms of technology. I just sold a GTX 1660Ti build I got from Techfast in 2019. Bought it for $800ish and sold it for $200. It was just starting to struggle on actually playing new games. I dont care how many frames per second games are and I dont play online.

I just upgraded to their recent AMD 4060 builds and very happy with it.

All of these people whinging are just justifying paying 3x for a computer to play games they could play on this one and probably would struggle to tell the difference.

Definitely a market for these builds.

  • yucky 8gb…

if it was 16gb I'd say ok deal.

    how does 9060 xt 8gb compare to 12g 6700xt?

    • +1

9060XT 16GB is same as 7700XT the 8GB is all over the place, depends on what you play/test, your cpu, your mb pci-e slot speed and what you want to compromise on, regardless of what some are saying here if you don't already have an 8gb GPU there is 0 reasons to buy a prebuild with one or upgrade to one… spending the extra will give you much better experience with no compromises.

      • yep!

16gb minimum for my next card… these new triple AAAs ask a lot

    • show us better deal with 16gb vram gpu that is same or lower price than this deal, then.
      otherwise yucky

  • Don't people realise for low end GPU's, you often have to lower the settings to Low or Medium settings, and that is okay. People are crying about 8GB cards as if they are on the high-end GPUs. Low and Medium settings are options you can nearly always select to reduce VRAM usage.

    • It's a $500au GPU though, the card itself has plenty of capability/grunt (as evidenced by the 16GB model), but the 8GB VRAM causes it to crap itself before you can utilise all said grunt.

      • What is the cheapest 16GB variant? I saw $629 while this entire system is $888. Assuming all other aspects are the same, what you lose with the 8GB is the choice to go up to High or Ultra settings. These 8GB GPUs are often useful for low demanding visuals, at high fps, at a lower cost.

        • Kind of unfair comparison, if you compare retail costs, this build is $1047 not $888.

Even paying the full retail $129 extra for 16GB model (on top of the $888) for a pre-built would absolutely be worth it for much better performance and longevity.

Edit: oh dear, I also just realised that this is a pcie3.0 motherboard, this cripples the 8gb GPU to unusable levels, check out the tests done on the recent HUB video on this, it's terrible.

          • @Grish: Not unfair as this is a real choice, not theoretical, you can buy this system for $888 and the RX 9060 16GB is $629.

I feel people didn't watch all of that video. The PCIe 3.0 becomes a problem when VRAM is full as it constantly needs to access the bus. If you use Medium settings, DLSS, and 1920x1080 resolution to keep VRAM usage under 8GB, PCIe 3.0 isn't an issue and you can get fps as high as the 16GB model.

That is why this GPU is best considered 1080 DLSS Quality / 1440 DLSS Performance, Medium settings on modern games, with high fps. If someone has a 4K 60fps monitor, this is a terrible choice.

  • anyone got reviews about Zotac Zone one?
how is it compared with other handhelds
it seems good deal for the price.

  • Just my luck 🤣, brought the zotac zone yesterday, today Galapower dropped there's to $599.
