Doesn't look like it can fit 35 litres?

    • +10

take it to the local petrol station and give it a try … sounds like good content for YT

    • +11

I don't' know man this seems like a bad omen to me.

    • ah.. 35 litres of what though? ;)

  • +2

Thanks OP, purchased - will be my first time with a DDR5 ram set up.

  • whoa, isnt the RTX Super 4070 alone like $1k ?

    • +1

That's pretty much the value of this deal. I wouldnt pay $1k for the card alone but with a build as well, willing to pay a few hundred more for a usable PC.

    • +1

RTX 5070 prices start at about $870 currently, so no.

    • +1

No def not worth 1k, but this is an OK prebuild for someone who wants a brand name like HP or Dell for support or whatever… :)

  • +5

note that this CPU only has 4 PCI 4.0 GPU lanes which can hinder performance a bit (particualrly if you upgrade GPU down the track)
plus limited lanes on the NVME slots, 1/2 the l3 cache and uses a hybrid of performance and efficency cores

Personally i'd look elsewhere overall unless doing what the OP is doing and repurposing the GPU as its a cheap PC otherwise.

    • What would be the best cpu to upgrade this computer for gaming without needed to upgrade the power supply? I think the 7800X3D needs a 650W power supply so that would be no good for this computer?

      • +2

The 7800X3D is rated as a 120W part… has the ability to draw up to 165W in the socket, but usually peaks at about 80W.

You'd be a little more hard pressed with a Ryzen 9800X3D though.

But once you've made that investment, you're basically back at current RTX 5070 build prices, so this isn't a deal… not sure it's a good deal at all really.

      • probably the 7600 or 7700's - prices are pretty good these days for a lot of performance

  • +7

Save your $1300 folks. This ain't worth.

    • Definitely not for more people, unless you have specific circumstances like OP does and can palm off the barebones PC to someone.

    • +1

This is a great option for many users — it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a decent sound card, and a GPU that still holds up well against the new 50 series. Most TechFast deals don’t include those extras.

  • +1

thanks op. got for GPU and will build the rest into a cheap starter PC for relative.

  • How upgradable/customisable are these things? Does HP make it a pain?

    • +2

a lot better in general terms with motherboards, coolers and power supplies in this generation i believe
But main key issue if looking to upgrade CPU would be bios support - can be hit and miss if you get new CPU's added for AM5 etc if HP never offered that combination for sale.

      • I'm not sure if it would fit in the case (I'm assuming it would) but you could possibly replace the mobo on the cheap too

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/911189

        • +1

looks like it got a bios update also 2 weeks ago so should support more CPU options for those looking.

  • +6

Unrelated to this deal, but I have been watching the HP store for a few days, and can confirm the prices of products I've been watching have gone up significantly overnight with this new 20% coupon deal.

    • can confirm the prices of products I've been watching have gone up significantly overnight

The data I have logged doesn't support that.

I'm seeing 32 price reductions and only 2 price increases.

If you are sure that other items increased in price could you please send me the item numbers for the items that you have been tracking so that I can take a closer look to figure out why my software has missed those?

      • OMEN 32q by HP 31.5 inch QHD 165Hz Gaming Monitor(ebay.com.au)
        $70 increase. Was $399. Now $469

This is what I was looking at yesterday.

        • What were the other products?

          • @HomeAlone: This is the only one I was seriously considering buying so I remembered the price. I just assumed there were others with price increases, but must have been wrong.

  • Interesting - what's the sale value of the PC without the GPU?

  • Thanks for posting, I have been looking to upgrade my 1660 Ti for a while! Extra 3% off using eBay gift cards from Macquarie.

  • I was tempted, since I’ve been looking for a 4070s/5070 for a decent price to upgrade, and have a 9600x about to be sitting in a box.

Still at least a couple hundred more than just buying ram ($130), mobo ($130) and a 5070 ($900). If you needed the SSD and PS I guess it makes sense.

  • That GPU looks like a massive one, probably won't be able to fit in SFX case.

  • -1

I am considering 9800X3D/5070ti deal from Nebula. but this one is almost half price.

    • +3

the 9800X3D alone is over $800 and the 5070Ti is $1300-$1500 LOL … not even the same tier

don't know why you got neg'd - it wasn't me :) i've corrected it as best i can.. lol

      • no worries.
The reality is this might be enough for me.

        • most likely .. depending on what kind of gaming your into. 1440p is where this will be ok at for some time to come.

  • Hmm, this is tempting to replace the 7700/1070. But I just don't get time to play that much anymore :'(

    • yeah.. victus 15L for $816 last September with 4060 made more sense to me, replacing my aging 3070 i9 (9th gen) Intel nuc build

I gamed on that victus maybe 4 times since then

      if that

but I use it regularly as a storage hub, as it holds 2x 3.5" drives, perfect for a simple cost effective 2 way mirror RAID.. while being decent portable

this is a bit too much and takes more space

P.S. lol they still sell it for $1500 after discount

  • OOS

Seeing as the RTX4070 Super sells for $950 your paying $350 for the rest of the PC .. good deal

  • I had a look at the other Omen desktops on the HP AU ebay store and got HP OMEN 35L Gaming Tower RYZEN 7-8700G 32GB 2TB HDD + 512GB SSD RX 7600 8GB for $1299 with the HPJN20 code. HP consumer is usually trash while the business gear is exceptionally over engineered and good quality so will be interesting to see how this goes. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/365088011295

Down from an apparent RRP of 3599 im not sad even if its a bit old.

I can't believe this crap could be out of stock. People don't know how bad it is. The only thing would work is the graphics card worth ~$700.

    You'll get
    Dual 8GB DDR5 RAM which are almost electronic waste (search it if you don't know how bad it will be compared with dual 16G DDR5);
    Ryzen 8500G which is even worse than 7400F if you don't use the iGPU;
    B650M mobo with WiFi 7;
    1TB HDD and 1TB SSD;
    600W PSU;
2 heat pipe 120mm air cooler.

    • +1

I was about to buy one but they are now OOS. Thanks for confirming how bad the build is. I feel better knowing I saved $1300.

    • +4

I'll be that person … if you could show me where a 4070 super (new) is $700 I would happily cancel my order.. What its worth vs what its selling at locally are two very different things.

  • HP aren't that bad, the second HP Pavilion pc I purchased in the mid 2000s was already decent cpu/speed wise. But I upgraded the video card and had 5+ years of enjoyment from it.

Might not be an ideal deal for the hardcore enthusiast, but for the time poor its not a disaster deal.

  • +4

Its conflicting because in terms of what the average gamer would want its probably poor value for money and old over what can be had with a build your own.

Im buying a HP pre build because its a stable machine which im hoping is HP business hardware spec and able to run 24/7/365 on my desk with zero complaints or bullshit with support I can actually moan at instead of fixing it myself.

If I can turn off the LEDs and bolt it under my desk I will. Im not running a rig for esports, im going to every now and then jump on call of duty and remember computers were a massive mistake

20 year old me is mortified but 42 year old me is pretty happy with this purchase.

  • +4

Techfast now has a $1388 build that comes with a R7-7500F, 32GB RAM and RTX 5070

Downside: low-tier Inwin bronze power supply that I could not find any reviews on. 1TB storage only.

But the CPU is a proper 6-performance core part with 32mb L3 cache and there's double the RAM and newer GPU, which is a lot better value.

    • Other downside is you'll be waiting a month… But I agree after finally receiving the 4060 models and using GitHub to register windows they are great once you receive them.

      • Is everything new? I mean, not renewed from other PCs?

        • -1

Everything is new and build quality was great from Techfast - just the 6 weeks to receive the system was annoying.

  • Have pulled the trigger but probably will just return after seeing the comments above and some research myself ..the CPU is even no better than 5600g in regarding of the multiple core performance which is a few generations older. Can find some replacement cpus like 7500f around 150aud on the second hand market, but probably not worth the hassle..Thanks OP anyway, a good lesson for for starter
