nbn 25/10Mbps WhistleOut Plan $39/Month for 6 Months (New Customers Only, Ongoing $59.90/Month) @ Flip Connect

170

Was doing some volunteering and looking to help someone get off some crazy $100 a month NBN plan, found this one had been extended.

New Flip customers only. Flip runs on Swoop’s network.

Seemed like you can set a future date with Flip so might be worth going for the $1 ABB deal here and switch out of ABB a few days before.

To be reminded. OPs link shows 4 months and this one shows 6 months.

      • Fark… I signed up to the 4 months one… rookie mistake =/.. guess got to find something new in 4 months

      • Sorry! I don’t know who removed it, I initially had a blurb that said “ I tried to add whistleout referal link since it give you 6 months instead of 4 months however it automatically gets rid of it so instead it you'll have to go find it manually to get the 6 month instead of the 4 month discount, just google it.”

If you're not the type to switch every 6 months, something else to consider is the exetel one plan.

$80 a month perpetual, but $1 per day off, for every day you turn on hibernation (12/1). This will still do 1080p streaming for example, if your main use is chat and basic netflix.

This could be close to $50 a month for truly basic connectivity, with the option to flick up to 500/50 when you need to actively use it for 10days to come out at this plans same (long term) price.

I like the idea of it but for many of us people stuck on the sh1t FTTN network, doesn't make sense to pay for any of the higher plans when the infrastructure can't support it, once we get fibre I'm very keen though (if we ever get it they've been kicking the can down the road for the last 5 years on an upgrade).

Currently on the $1 Telstra -) Free Amaysim -) $1 ABB and not sure from there, will see what affordable 50/20+ plans are available.

      Or go ~$54 for 25/10 with Fubar : https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/913070

      • I was going to post exactly this, have set up a few family and friends on it and to my knowledge, it hasn't missed a beat.

Have only called support once during setup for 1 person (it wasn't even to do with the internet but with setting up billing) and it was a good experience.

You should post this and in title if not already done.
We pretty much don’t use the internet 5-6 days a week but when we do we need 50mbps minimum . Already locked into a plan but this seems pretty ideal.

        Launtel charge by the day.

  • If anyone looking at this speed, you are better off getting something like a felix mobile and hotspotting, for just $1 more. 25/10 is woefully inadequate, I struggled to do more than 1 thing at a time - just imagine calling and using a dial up modem…

    • Wasn't there some controversy about the unlimited not actually being unlimited?

      • Really…. u mean unlimited <> unlimited

        • +1

From what I understand there's a restriction on tethering/hotspotting in the TOS

Really don't understand this since being on 25/10 connections for a year now. I was hesitant at first to do so based on comments such as your own but I've barely ever had a speed issue; I can watch 4K just fine and I'm constantly streaming 1080P content on 2-3 devices simultaneously without a problem.

Same. 3 internet users in my home, been on 25/10 for several years without issue. Only problem is taking a while to download Xbox games but i can live with that for a cheaper monthly rate. 25/10 is plenty sufficient for most people.

      • Could easily be just this ISP, but I couldn't take it for than a week before I changed providers and upgraded to 100/20. I have a Sonos arc with two rears - the audio would constantly break. Plex would take a few seconds to respond on apple tv especially when I fast forward/rewind. All my smart home devices had poor response time, google took 10+ sec to respond on the smart speakers. Websites took considerably longer to load. All up was a very poor experience.

  • I’ve heard that Flip runs on Swoop’s network ,is that true?

  • They were on swoop network when i first joined then it moved to anycast now. Looking to churn out at the end of the month.

    • Swoop acquired Anycast.

Looking for cheap 100/20 plan. Anyone had any recommendations?

If you bank with Commbank, you can get a good discount at More, if you activate via Commbank Yello (in the Commbank app)

There should be a basic free tier nationally and let telcos battle it out for paid upgrades. Australia is riddled with corporate cartels feigning competition.

This is only for those who had never had an account with Flip before as confirmed with them.
I just switched to Southernphone today $45/mth for 12 months on 25/5.
    So far no issues.

  • Deserves more upvotes given a lot of people should be transitioning after the 6 month nbn 25/10 siptalk deal

  • Looks like it's changed to $39 for 4 months only.
