      • Just use ING Paywave plus the fuel voucher. At $1.60/litre, you save another 8c/litre with ING, making it 12c/litre off.

Frugal ozbargainer spends $200 a week. I'm willing to bet that at least half (conservative) can be put on paypave. That's $5 cash back each week. that's $130 for 6 months + $75 that's $200 cash without changing spending habits. Compare that to points schemes where they give you less than 1% back and that assumes they accept cc cards without fees

      Places which accept paywave:

supermarkets (top up opal at Woolies and save 5% on Public transport)
      petrol stations
      Many food shops

It's revered and deservedly so. When it ends it will be a sad day for Oz'bargainers

        Places which accept paywave

Add to that the Post Office which now has Paywave support so you can basically pay almost any bill that is less than $100 and get 5% off on that too.

For me personally, that is my biggest 'earner' (or should I say Saver ;) )

    Nice work. Thanks!

i usually leave my card empty (swept to the maximiser account) so if my card is lost or stolen no money can be spent. install the ing direct banking app on your mobile phone.

i really can't see how paywave is any worse than the previous system of signatures (which noone ever checked anyway). pin is clearly a more secure solution.

Do you get a confirmation email or something when you sign up to know that you are eligible for the $75 cash back?

I stupidly signed up first and then entered my details into the website link…

  • i've already got a mebank account that gives me 5% cash back, after seeing this post i want to open a ING account as well but i have been leaving this option for later once my 6 month period expires. Does anyone know if i open an account and close later i will still be open another account on october and get the 5% promo (provided that the promotion will still be ongoing)?

If you had read the previous comments then you would know the answer.

    • +1

Most likely not. I have a me account too but still worth it to open ING for the $75

  • I wish they have a physical branch for me to go to verify my ID

    • +1

Pretty sure you can just do that at a Post Office

  • I'm having trouble talking about this to those around me. I've explained it that you get paid to make a deposit, you get paid $0.50 to withdraw cash and you get paid 5% back whenever you spend. I've been ousted as trying to promote a scam and that the offer is too good to be true with no bank willing to carry it out.

Is there anything that I am missing here? Any hidden fees & conditions? Hasn't this type of offer from ING been posted on here before that has worked out?

    • No fee if you with draw $200+

    • the reason they can offer this is they charge mechants for using their service (my guess is 3%) plus 2% is from the budget of their marketing department. Once every Australian owns their card, they can do a lot of things to make you use their services.

      • But many were kicked for splitting bills, such as me.

    • can't you just give them a link to the promotion and let them see they can see the promotion t&cs and account t&cs themselves?

i think it was launched mid last year and so there are lots of people on ozbargain who have been using it

  • I opened ING account this morning and once it was all done I realized that I didn't register first. Would I be still eligible for the bonus?

For those who have received the $75, can you advise how long it took?

For me, "reasonable time" seems very subjective.

  • just confirming - the 5% rebate is not taxed or part of taxable income right? also this account is a savings account as opposed to a credit card?

    • otherwise would the $250 iconic be a better option if it is not taxed?

    • i believe it appears as a "miscellaneous credit" rather than interest so it doesn't appear on your interest numbers that the ato receives. whether or not it is taxable and are required to declare it is another matter for you to determine

  • +1

does it cost money (any transaction costs) to transfer the $1k from cba to this ing account? or is depositing the $1k at the post office the only option?

    • +1

most interbank electronic transfers are free if done using internet banking. check the schedule of fees for the account you have with the cba

  • +1

Does anyone know if the $1000 has to be in 1 go, or can be say four $250 instalments?

  • +1

just a question. how does the 5% get taken away from each (under $100) paywave purchase? does it come up on your statement as already 5% less?… or is the amount first taken away then a credit of 5% added on later?

    • +9

You get charged the full amount is 100% of the transaction value. The following business day they give you 5% of the total as a credit back

  • Question - if i were to buy something that was $110, couldn't i just get the cashier to put a dual payment, one being $100 (ING Paywave) the other being $10 on any other card i have?

People have been splitting payments so they can get 2 paywave payments but have ING become aware of this and give you a warning…

    • Its fine. Dont worry too much.

Remember to split the payments to less than $100. You will be asked to sign or enter your PIN if the charge is $100.

  • how much does it cost to withdraw under $200 from
    Commonwealth ATM?
    or ANZ / WESTPAC?

    • Well more than if you withdraw over $200.

Each time you withdraw $200 or more from an ATM in Australia with your Orange Everyday Visa Debit card, ING DIRECT will reimburse the ATM owner fee.

So what ever the other bank charges.

  • Bonuses for this offer will be paid from 1 July 2014 to eligible clients.

got this in a reply via their online messaging system

  • I applied for a new account before I saw this offer. However my application didn't succeed because I needed to go to Auspost to do the identity check. In between applying and doing the ID check I submitted by details for the $75 bonus. What are the chances that I'll actually get it?

  • -1

Found out that the $75 will start being paid from 1 July onwards.

    • +2

you couldn't read 2 messages above?

      • oops my mistake.

  • Does the 5% cash back strictly only apply to pay wave purchases? What if I stick the card into the machine and use my PIN? What if I use my card for online purchases?

      of course only paywave………………………

  • How does the 5% rebate work, I thought it would be instant. I a paywave transaction yesterday it shows up, but no rebate

  • Can i deposit $1000 on say the 2nd of July and withdraw on the 3rd July, and still be eligible?

    • I guess so…

  • Closed existing account 4 days back and opened new yesterday… All good so far.. No problem from ING yet…

    • how do you close an account? I don't see the option, or do you just call up?

      • Just put a request after logging in to your account…

  • Applied over a week now, no emails or anything??? Verified on day of sign up at postoffice already..
    How long normLly??

    • Received a text that my account was opened 4hrs after it was verified at Auspost.

  • give them a call or email , mine wait for around 1-2 weeks after verified at post office , emailed them and they told me for some reason the application didn't processed, they will process manually for me, so, if i didnt contact them, will be waiting for the card to come forever

    • Yeh i had to call the yesterday!
Today they called back and say manually activate / processed it for me.. :(

I'm about to sign up and can't find any reference to the $75 bonus. Is it mentioned on the site at all?
Looks like the site has changed as the cached version mentions it.
There's no place to register for the $75 bonus now.

    • Just click on the 'go to deal' link above.

      • that's what he's talking about.. seems like the page to register your details for the $75 bonus is gone now even though it's not june 30 yet

        • You're right, it's not there anymore. That's pretty strange, considering I received an email from them today reminding me to sign up for an Everyday account to get the $75 (even though I already opened the Everyday account when I initially signed up).

    • Yeah was going to apply and seems like it's gone???

      • Yeh, a few of my famiy wanta to apply guess no more nowww.. :(

  • Is this deal still available???

so with the paywave & 5% cashback , i'm not allow to use twice at the same seller at the same time is it? some of u been saying that getting warning call from ING about it. So, for e.g at coles, i am doing 3 paywave transactions $30 each to get more fuel vouchers, its not allowed? or if i go RAC to buy one $100 gift cards, then 2 hours later i go to buy another one, is it allowed? Whats the time frame they looking at or whats the terms & conditions? Cant seem to find much information about it, hope someone can explain a bit , thanks

    • +1

I do 2 transactions at Coles every week (as it's over $100 but under $200) and have never had a problem, I used to do 3, 2 at the checkout and 1 at the kiosk, but they are all for different amounts obviously.

So I wouldn't worry too much for minor things, obviously they don't allow it but its perfectly normal you have 2 transactions at Coles, maybe you go to the checkout and then go to the kiosk and buy phone credit after, I think having different amounts will help as well. If you went somewhere and bought something for $540 and did 6 transactions of $90 each then I'm sure you'd get a call then.

  • cool, thanks for the info :)

  • +1

Wow just noticed free ATM withdrawals anywhere in Australia from 1 July ($1000 deposit per month). Signed up last week for the $75 and 5% but I'll gladly take this too!

    • +1

Free without a $200 minimum withdraw?,
      *Edit. Just found da answer..

      Free ATMs
You can use every ATM in Australia for free - no matter the amount or who it's operated by - when you deposit $1,000 or more per month from an external account into your Orange Everyday. (Offer starts 1 July 2014.)
      2% cash back
Why pay full price at the shops? Get 2% cash back on Visa payWave purchases under $100 in Australia - when you deposit $1,000 or more per month from an external account into your Orange Everyday. (Offer starts 1 July 2014.)
      No monthly fees
There are $0 monthly fees, so there's more in your pocket for life's incidentals.

Has anyone gotten the $75 bonus yet?
I applied on mid June , deposit 20/6..

  • +1

Hi all, I've applied and successfully got my orange everyday account while ING having the 5% cashback and $75 bonus. Last time when I check "my offers" it does says about the 5% cashback. But tonight when I check again, it has changed to the current 2% cashback. I've fulfill all the requirements and transferred $1000 from another account into this account etc
But so far I haven't receive the bonus $75 and I've made numerous paywave transactions ,none of them show up 5% or even 2% cashback at all. I think this is very unfair? :( just wonder anyone has similar situation as well? Still waiting for their email reply, what else can I do?
Sorry for the lengthy comments :(

    • try calling them.

Yes, bonuses started being paid yesterday and will be paid up until the 31st August 2014.

From ING via inbox messaging system

    • Anyone been paid yet? Thing is, you don't know if you're eligible or not until either you receive it or 31/8 passes and you haven't gotten it, and by then it may be too late to complain.

I just received my $75 as "miscellaneous credit"
