Hmm do I need an iPad, what can it do the my Nexus 4 can't?
Is it goin to be worthwhile for use travelling to Japan, or should I jet get laptop?

    • +2

A tablet IMO is just a glorified content viewer. If you need productivity nothing beats a laptop.

      • IMO, a tablet is a name of a real portability and mobility of a form of computers. Computers are all about form factors these days. It gives consumers the ease of accessing and consuming content.

    • it can run iOS

  • Very good price for the iPad mini. Just bought one for the kid with CashRewards. Yes the code worked.

  • +2

"EDIT - The group deal lasts for 6 more days (or until sold out), however the $200 price will end today after the 20% code expires."

    From ebay T&C's
Point 2. This offer commences at 10:01 (AEST) on June 29, 2014 and ends at 23:59 (AEST) on June 30, 2014 (“Offer Period”).

Would it be possible to get some further clarification in the description please? Because according to ebay the 20% ends tomorrow night at 23.59pm and not today.

    • I've edited the post. Cheers

  • Just bought white mini :/ damn you OzB lol

Does Kogan give tax invoice ?

    • +2

Does Kogan give tax invoice ?

Kogan HK P/L selling/supplying these iPads/iPhones means that no GST is collected or remitted to Australian Government.

      • It's like we all got duty free!

        • It's like we all got duty free!

Jokes aside, there is no duty on iPhones or iPads.

        • You said duty!

  • bought theiPad. I don't know why lol. thanks OP :)

  • After buying an Iphone 5S ad Iphone 5c, and I am so tempted to buy the Ipad mini as well. Does anyone know if I bought all 3 items will they be shipped together on one invoice and if so, will I need to pay GST since the total amount of all three items together is over $1000?

      Ask them to ship separately.

You are already over the $1,000 threshold. As, the invoice value is the price before the 20% off.

      • Thanks, will ask them to do that.

  • +2

    must resist…. must….res……. BOUGHT… sigh and i already have a mini + iphone 5.. damn it OZB

  • god dammit…..i bought another ipad mini….what should I do with it?

  • About 200 or so iPad minis left, I'm off to bed so I'm guessing someone else will edit the title accordingly once they're gone.

I'm not sure I'll ever top the popularity of this deal as an OP, and given it's my first I may not bother :)

  • never had an apple can you expand the memory.

    • No expandable memory for ios

    • No but you can use a wireless ext.HDD I think.

    • -2

      yes you can

      by buying another ipad

    • thats what icloud is for

  • Just bought an Ipad mini after buying the Iphone 5S and 5C (sigh). I think now I've completed my collection of tablets of all platforms: Nexus 7, Galaxy Note, Surface RT and the forthcoming Ipad mini and all because of Ozbargain. I love you Ozbargain!

  • tnx op..bought one..
also was wondering what you guys think about
    https://centrewarehouse.com/index.php?route=product/category…
do they sound genunie? they say as paypal verified..

  • Cheap ipad mini however, can't justify any more reason to buy it since I have ipad 2 working fine for my little son and myself with ipad air 128gb lol.

  • Got one…. oh lord why.

  • argh…no compact camera on sale

    G2 or Nexus 5? Dilemma…

    • I'm on the same boat and thinking of the 32GB version. I've been reading and watching reviews on both all day.
On one hand Nexus 5 has no bloatware and features the buttery KitKat Andriod version but battery and camera performance are the two issues holding me back.
On the otherhand, the G2 has a better camera and battery but it has LG's interface on top which looks kinda ugly. Updating it to KitKat does help performance a bit but the LG interface still remains.

I would suggest to have a look in the shops first thing in the morning to note the difference in how it feels on the hand and the user interface.

      • +1

        G2 battery
        G2 camera
        G2 IR blaster
        No brainer, get G2.
You want a Nexus like experience then get custom ROM for G2.

    • +2

      G2 + custom ROM

      • kinda sick of custom rom, minor bugs from time to time…just want that "everyting work" google experience, so nexus it is for me then ..

  • 2.48am: and goooooooone.

  • Yup the iPad Mini is sold out guys, other group buy offers continue.

MOD - I tried to edit the title but I wasn't able to type anything, weird. Its my 1st post so not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

    • +5

Mighty fine first post OP. You've made a big dent in OzBargain's budget.

  • -1

I got the iPad mini but it shows -$250 in PayPal is this correct? When is the $50 put back?

    • +2

When you click the order details link…
      PayPal paid Kogan $250.
      You paid PayPal $200.

    • +1

This question has been asked many times here. All one needs to do is back track the previous posts AND look in the edited description of the deal:

In Paypal, it shows $250,…in your paypal transaction which contains VOUCHER $50…with $200…from your funding source respectively

      • Apprently, the bold font that I put didn't really get people's attention.

      • That is shown in eBay on the purchase however in Paypal it shows minus $250 from the account. Going further into the details for those that are worried you will see on the Paypal web version (not mobile version, hence my concern) that $250 is taken, $200 from your nominated source and $50 from Ebay.

        Funding source:
        $50.00 AUD - 20% off Big Brands on eBay | 29-30 June 2014 #CBIGTREAT
        $200.00 AUD - ANZ Savings (Confirmed) xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx

  • just missed the ipad mini… anyone regretting their purchase?

  • Is the 20% available for the 27" LCD monitor?

  • Thanks OP, got a 5s

  • guys is everything on kogan's ebay site apply with this 20% off? i m looking for a Samsung Note 3 , not too bad with $528, anyone know cheaper place to get it? and how come there is $22 dollar shipping?

    • guys is everything on kogan's ebay site apply with this 20% off?

      Yes. Until just before midnight.

i m looking for a Samsung Note 3 , not too bad with $528, anyone know cheaper place to get it?

      No, I don't.

and how come there is $22 dollar shipping?

You are buying from a Hong Kong seller. They are shipping from Hong Kong. Even so, it is thought that Kogan HK P/L often 'pad' their shipping fees to increase profits.

  • -1

despite a few dramas with ebay and account verification…

bought 2x iphone 5s thatnks OP … you get an up vote

  • Thanks OP. Got a 5S. Was deciding between the 16GB and 32GB model, but went with the 16GB as can't see paying about $150 more for another 16GB.

  • +1

    shit.. bought a 5s out of impulse… have 4 & 5 at home already..
may be its time to upgrade…

    any other impulse buyers??

    • +6

An impulse buyer is an advertiser's wet dream.
You should carefully consider your purchases if you want to be REAL bargain hunter.

  • Bought the iPhone 5s 16GB for $549.60. Great deal. My missus will be quite happy with an upgrade from the 5.

    • +9

Really? She has an iPhone 5 and you bought her a 5s? Good for Apple!

  • Looks like the Nexus 5 16GB listing has ended.

  • The 5s is ended as well, just confirm with Kogan rep. Not sure why the ebay site still available.

The Kogan rep. sent a feedback with an apology that his listing on ebay does not include iPhone 5s 16GB, but the ebay deal is still going with 16GB.

  • well bought moto g 16 kogan grey for 189.60, lucky as i was kicking myself for not getting one at 206 at past sales,

these sales are too stressful, thought about buying a nexus 5 - 329, but realized i dont use a phone that much,

now just have to wait for a month, and hope phone comes with no faults on arrival,

  • Just bought LG G2 32gb white for $368.
Was going to wait for the OnePlusOne but over waiting for an invite out paying through the nose from MobiCity.

Finally upgrading from Samsung S2. Anyway great phone for a price I'm comfortable with.

  • The Google Nexus 5 is sold out. Anyone recommend an alternative or somewhere else to get it. Thanks in advance

    • +2

      LG G2 is better.

    Macbook Air 11" (2013) for $500
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/351107254887

    MBA 13" (2013) for $700
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/351107256352

    • How does the warranty work vs local stock.

DE had the 13" for $850 with local ease for warranty and no wait.

      • My understanding is Apple's warranty on Macs is international.

    • Bought 11"

      Thanks!

      • +1

I was thinking about the 11" but when you try use it in person they seem too small..

13" is much more usable.. but $200 more :S

  • Anyone getting the ipad air? What colour?

    • Tempted. Skipped on the mini iPad cuz I already ordered the Asus memo pad from TGG deal and don't need another mini tablet. The iPad Air has bigger screen and isn't too old a model so I'm seriously thinking about it. I'll probably go space grey

    • I got a space grey. I bought the ipad mini for my parents. This is for me :-)
Good price for a current gen iPad, and the guts of the air should last a couple of years.

  • +2

Question - What's the deal with the Macbook Air's? That's stupendously cheap.

Doesn't look like a refurb or old model, they must be making a loss

    • duid you buy one, contemplating on buying one for my sister?

      • Thinking about the 13' , as long as it's not used. If you don't like it, should be able to flip it on Ebay / Craiglist for much more anyway.

        • 13' is on sale too? i can only see 11'.

          link please?

haha. thanks let me know if you buy! i may join you

          FOUND IT SORRY

        • +1

          http://groupbuy.ebay.com.au/

Someone posted this as a separate deal but it was deleted, seems major enough to deserve it's own post but eh.

        • Haha, I posted that in order to notice more people who are waiting for MBA deal as I am. Deleting my post is correct as it is truly a dupe.

    • Yeah, my wife would definitely be keen at that price. What's the catch?

  • +1

    OMG a chain saw!

  • dupe whoops

  • Hmm so tempted on the airs. Problem is I have a habit of hanging onto my laptops for many years. Am I going to kick myself for being tempted by the price now instead of buying elsewhere with the 8gb ram upgrade?

    • +2

I've had a 13" Air for 2 years now with 4GB ram. I haven't needed more ram since. The only thing I'd like is a faster processor for photo editing. Other than that, the 4GB is fantastic for my needs.

  • Anyone else having problems buying MBA? Had to do the stupid phone verification and once I put in the code it just goes to a blank white page. Any advice?

  • Dam it, I press commit to buy on a 13" MacBook Air instead of a 11". Still not a bad price so went ahead.

    • buy both hahaa?

      • Haha, it's for my wife, she seem to be happy with it. I already have a nice MacBook Pro. :) so I like speed, was gonna upgrade to 8gb from apple the other day. then again, it's for my wife, she dont need it.

A month seem a long time to deliver though.

    • +1

So you can see what you are either missing out on or gaining depending on your perspective:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30T_ujbBkuw

I went with the 13" myself due to longer battery life, larger palm rest, and the SD Card slot.

      • I went the 11" for portability and greater discount. It was a no-brainer.

        • I had the 13" and it was too large and the 11" is the optimal size.

  • OK, got me a MacBook Air 11" plus the iPad Mini yesterday. OZBargain, Kogan & eBay all sending me broke. I still want to buy another item too!

  • +1

    REMEMBER YOUR CASHREWARDS GUYS!

    • I hate it when I forget. Thank bro!

    • Yup!

$490 for a 11" MBA 128GB - cheaper than an iPad Air 16GB at RRP!

  • Bought a 11" MBA 128GB as our kitchen laptop. :D

I already have a 15" MBP retina for work.

And oh, for your info, guys, ETA is "Wed. 30 Jul. - Thu. 7 Aug."

  • Would Officeworks staff be dumb enough to price beat the iPad Air?

    • Sure why not.

  • +5

MacBook Air is a Bargain!!!!Oh dear….Buy Now, Think Later …..

  • 256gb 13" Air - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apple-13-MacBook-Air-MD761-1-3GHz…

I really wish they had a 8gb version, 4gb won't be enough to handle LR / PS with a decent resolution.

    • +3

Ridiculous - I used Photoshop daily on 4GB RAM MB Air with no issues. It uses SDD for swap memory (like any computer), because it's an SSD it's still so quick you don't notice.

$700 is freaking ridiculous, I'm msg'ing anyone I think could be interested in a new comp

  • MacBook Air warranty is international right?

    • +1

      Yes.
