  • Hi,

I can't see the AmazonGlobal standard shipping option come up only priority and expedited when I go to checkout.

    • I had that too, seem to be because what I had in the cart was too big in total. Removed a bulky item and standard shipping came up

  • How about this!Sold by Amazon.com Present for the Dog!!!!! http://www.amazon.com/Bike-Balance-Dog-Jogger-Kit/dp/B004KGD…

  • Is this deal available if the total purchase amount is greater than $100, but the amount paid on Amex is less (e.g. a total purchase of $101 with Amazon credit used for $10 and the balance of $91 paid by Amex)?

    • yes

  • Doh I was hoping to get a monitor… Offer doesn't apply to items larger than 16” x 14” x 10” :(

    • Yup, you can get a bike shipped from the UK for pennies but a shoebox from Murrica costs the earth. Oh well.

      • Where ships bikes for pennies? Chain reaction is around AU$200 IIRC, would be interested in knowing others.

Well here is a super duper special. Beat this massive saving!

    http://www.amazon.com/Chefn-Stem-Gem-Strawberry-Huller/dp/B0…

    • That is awesome! I need to buy this for my wife. She keeps cutting large chunks off the tops of strawberries.

      • I'm actually getting it too. Check the demo videos on youtube.

    • Good find, saved me over $300.

  • Is anybody is buying shoes..?

    • Yes. Women's Teva Tirra sandals. Usually over $100 in Oz. On Amazon for as little as 31 USD (depending on the colour).

  • Had about 20 items sitting in my cart for about a month now, mostly Christmas presents so this came at the perfect time.
    Used my bank issued AMEX.

  • +1

Okay, I'm curious about this scenario:

    • Add $100 of goods to cart,
    • use Amazon giftcard (which I have) to pay most of the cost, let's say $99,
    • pay the remaining $1 with AMEX.

    • still get the shipping free??

    • +2

only 1 way to find out!

    • It's valid scenario as I've found once you add gift card balance, Amazon automatically deducts from that. I used to be able to manually deduct from credit card, but for a while now can't seem to find that option anymore.

    • did you try it?

      • I just did it - paid $130 in giftcards and the remaining $0.98 on my Amex. Shipping rebated completely :))

        • oh yes.. i've done it twice since that comment

          works like a charm :)

          broke :(

    • +1

I didn't place an order, but on the last step I can see that the gift card has been deducted and the shipping is still being listed as free… so it looks like the gift card approach works well. Avoid those nasty Amex fees by buying gift cards with your Citibank Plus and applying them to your purchase.

  • I am thinking of buying SSD - Samsung 840 EVO 250GB (MZ-7TE250BW) - $119.99
I dont see much of saving. Is anybody else buying SSD? Will this have international warranty?

    • Eh.. if that's the price in US, really not worth it when it's cheaper for local stock.

      • You are right, Merlict. I have to buy -
Corsair XMS2 DDR2 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400 800MHz 240-Pin Dual Channel Desktop Memory (TWIN2X4096-6400C5C) - $69.99 (Hard to get DDR2 RAM locally) and will probably look for something else around $30 to make it $100.

        • buy from ebay, I have two DDR2 ram sitting in my locker.

    • SSD's are very cheap to ship anyway… not worth it.

  • Awesome! Bought 10 books and saved 60 dollars shipping.

    • What kind of books were they?

along the line of inspirational, relationships and psychology :)

  • Just ordered a Botvac 70e vacuum cleaner.

It only showed expedited and priority shipping - with a cost around $80US.

Spoke to Amazon via live chat, and asked why there was no free shipping on the item. After checking the item size and seller, was advised to place the order and they would waive the shipping :)

    • I did the same thing below :)

If your going to buy $75 or more worth of Toys don't forget to add the FREE Gund 2014 Amazon bear.

    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KAT310W/ref=pe_385040_121528360_…

    • +1

It also appears the bear will go towards the $100 free shipping, so effectively $75.01 for free international shipping for toys!

  • This item should be qualified for free shipping: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00007J5U7/ (Product Dimensions: 14 x 8 x 10 inches ; 9 pounds)

I tempted to buy but is is showing $42.10 shipping fee and there is no AmazonGlobal Standard shipping option.

    Does anyone know why? Thanks.

    • +1

Sometimes they don't ship via standard shipping for unknown reasons.
Someone above has stated they got the other shipping option waived when they chafed to an amazon rep.

You realise you might need a step down converter for this item. (240v to 110v).
I didnt check if the item was dual voltage though so you might be ok

      • Thanks for your suggestion. I am about to chat with an Amazon rep now.

      • finally, I managed to order the item with free shipping after contacting Amazon rep. ;)

  • Unsure anyone can help. But really want a quality amplifier for a 2 speaker setup. I want DAB and its for my AT-LP60 record player. Looking at some speakers locally Q acoustics 2020i

    • Good idea on the supplements

    • Be careful. A lot of the supplements won't make it through customs.

      • i've never had problem with ON Gold Standard. Aussie resellers will slap a label on it to appease Aus food and drug regulatory bodies. It's a labeling issue and not a prohibited substances issue. Customs will allow small quantities through for personal use. Just keep your order to 10 pounds or under.

        • Received my protein

WTF Amazon is trying to tell me that a 8 x 8 x 12 inch item does not meet the criteria "Offer doesn't apply to items larger than 16” x 14” x 10” because the last number is too big.

And now they are telling me that something 'Sold and shipped by Amazon' isn't eligible as it isn't being sold by Amazon (checkout shows Amazon Export Sales, Inc., this is madness)

edit: I think the CSR is as confused about this as I am

  • Has this deal expired? No standard shipping option at the checkout

    • You probably have an item that they don't offer standard shipping for? I'm guessing if it has expired, you just wouldn't get the shipping discount for it.

      • Thank you nubix.
I filtered all items using "AmazonGlobal Eligible", cannot tell which one doesn't qualify : (

        • Remove them 1 at a time or speak to a CSR and they might refund you the cost of expedited shipping

        • @nubix:
          You are brilliant!
Unfortunately the item I want most doesn't offer standard shipping…

  • Don't suppose someone is able to do a test order to NZ for me?

Obviously don't purchase it, just change address to an NZ one.

    Cheers.

    • +1

Just tried and it didn't work

      • Cheers, didn't think it would.

  • Not sure if this relates to anyone but I just discovered the AMEX Charge Cards are included in this deal!

I have an old one associated to my Masters Trade Account but I have never used it once. Charge Card is basically a Debit Card.

Now I have a use for this card! Very happy :)

Amazon can be a funny bunch. I ordered a tarp (and some other things) with shipping dimensions 12 x 16 x 0.1 inches. They told me it was free because it was bigger than 16" x 14" x 10". I suggested they rotate it 90 degrees before shipping. They waived the shipping fee.

    Most amusing. =)

    • Love it, well done! :)

  • recommendations on toys that are worth to buy at Amazon for 12 mths +? Thanks

    • Get some board games. Would recommend this list for starters:

        • @t25: bygone era. kids today are attached to their devices

      • Thanks, I think that's way too early?! I bought lots of wooden puzzles though

Does anyone know how can I contact Amazon rep? Just wanna see if I can add one or two more items on my current order…

  • Thanks! Just saved $30 on shipping.

  • Thanks for the post, just saved $60 on shipping

  • Anyone know when this ends?

  • Cheers, saved around $60 in delivery fees!

(and cheers rewstar for pointing out the Gund bear… added!)

  • I purchased some commercial grade swing set components for a giant swing set I'm going to put out in the backyard for the kids :)

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002YV9IG
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002YV9JK

Used amazon customer service to get shipping waived on an item that was only offering global and expedited shipping, but no standard shipping. They will refund the shipping once the item ships.

I also purchased some of the Thermos Vacuum Insulated stainless steel water bottles http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003U583YW which are excellent.

All up, saved $115 USD shipping on a $245 USD order

Now I just need to get some galvanized steel locally for a good price.

  • Cheers all for some of the pointers :) have finally gotten around to adding them to the OP and credit given :)

  • +4

Just for everybody unsure if it will last until the Black Friday Sale, Amazon have a 7 day price guarantee if bought and shipped from Amazon. If the price drops within a week, contact them using the online chat function and they refund you the difference straight to your CC.

So if you're set on buying something but are thinking that there may be better deals this Friday, buy now and claim the difference!

  • Any idea why this won't ship to Australia? It says in the description that it does and it's apparently AmazongGlobal eligible, but won't ship when I go to checkout…
    http://www.amazon.com/Days-of-Wonder-DOW-7201/dp/0975277324/

    • +1

Shipping: Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S. and to APO/FPO addresses.

Even though it says global eligible at the top. Maybe contact CS

      • Ahh, down there in the details section.
        Totally missed that.
        Thanks!

  • +1

Any idea when this ends? Im spewing I missed out on the shipping saving :( Just made like a $300 order the other day!

  • this is the first International Black Friday event.

amazon china got the same deal.

  • What about conversion fees from Amex, should I pay in Au or US?
This would likely negate the relatively cheap shipping Amazon has unless it was a large order.

    • +1

You may not have the choice on Amazon to pay in AUD anyway with Amex. At the moment, I have 3 cards linked to Amazon - Visa, MasterCard and Amex. Visa and MasterCard automatically default to AUD but I have the option to change to USD. If I select the Amex card, the amount is shown in USD and there's no option to change the currency I will be charged in - that's fine, as you're often better off paying in USD anyway. If you do opt to pay in AUD, then instead of your credit card/bank doing the currency conversion, Amazon will do it themselves (known as dynamic currency conversion) and often retailers will give you a less favourable conversion rate as they then make more money off the transaction. Most banks/credit card providers will usually then charge their own currency conversion fee on top of that, regardless of which currency you opt for. I'm not sure what Amazon's exchange rates are usually like, as I always pay in USD, so it may be worthwhile having a look on their website to see if they give actual exchange rate information and you could do the calculations to see whether it's worthwhile.

      • Thanks for the helpful explanation

    • Just buy gift cards, then you can choose AMEX but it won't charge it at all.

  • +1

FWIW, the promo for free shipping is still on, and the 2014 Gunds are still available.

just did two orders totalling $76.73 and $77.18, with shipping savings of $63.26 and $27.21 respectively (plus two Gunds at $24.99 each).

    same ship-to, same amex.

    • +1

      Gunds?

  • Grabbed some Kayano 20's + a pack of Uno cards for $102.30. Saved $15.57 on shipping. :D

  • Ordered motorcycle oil and filters for $230, saved $103 on shipping. Couldn't be happier.

  • $100.83 order…shipping savings only $10.65 but the items were things I needed (sort of) including:

SanDisk Extreme Plus 64GB UHS-I/ U3 Micro SDXC Memory Card Up To 80MB/s With Adapter
    List Price: $159.99
    Price: $34.99
    You Save: $125.00 (78%)

    (thanks to m00c0w: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/171413)

  • Is there a difference between using an AMEX credit card vs AMEX GlobalTravel card? Are both cards going to be charging the same rate/fees/exchange rate?

  • maybe a good time to pick up some new vinyl, which normally kills on shipping charges.
