Just wondering what happens if we go for a refund … do we get the full value back?

    • +1

Did you check the T&Cs? Item 15 says

In the event you return or seek a refund on any item purchased using this discount, the value of the discount will not be refunded to you.

      • No .. it was a reflex question because I'm a little nervous about the laptop I bought and if I want to return it for a different model I will lose the discount amount .. unless Dell will do a 'pay the difference' option and not a full refund repurchase option … well hopefully I have chosen well / I don't get a dud and it won't be an issue.

  • Any good car dash cam deal?

  • Was going to buy a a GA-H97N mobo from Kogan, price was crap to begin with but coupon made it good. Get to checkout and discover they have jacked up the price. Screw em, even if it turns out cheaper they just lost a purchase and a customer.

Its a pity Kogan don't have the same price for their TV's on their ebay store as is on their website. Goes to show this 20% deal at times is no deal at all :(

    • +1

still cheaper than their website and free shipping too.

  • Got my GoPro from TGG.

It came in the most ghetto shipping packaging. Was pretty much a thin garbage bag sticky taped right onto the box. The bag was ripped in a number of areas.

That being said…it's just a box, and not a problem for me at all. Just thought it was funny that they thought a plastic garbage bag suffices as packing material.

Great price and quick turn around!

    • +2

Isn't that usually the way you get them when sent from HK?

      • +1

TGG isn't shipping from HK though.

This came from one of the local Good Guys stores.

        • Yeah, I understand that. Just pointing out the similarity I suppose. I've also had stuff from some computer stores sent in a similar fashion, also in boxes turned inside out…anything for them to save a dollar.

        • @kanibl:

I have had Catchoftheday send out stuff like that.

    • Just got my GoPro from Dick Smith! It was $1 more than TGG but I assumed everyone was buying from TGG and got worried about delays.

It was also in just plastic bag.

      • Guess the retailers figure a GoPro is rugged enough, haha!

So pleased with this purchase though! The Silver edition is magnificent value and performance.

  • Quick question gang. I'm trying to get the following electric piano from DS but the code won't work
    http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/251777123424?_mwBanner=1

    It comes back saying:
This voucher is invalid. Please enter a valid voucher code.

    Any ideas?

It you took the time to read a few comments up and the original post, you'll notice that the item has to be listed in the following categories for the coupon to work: -

      Categories:

      Computers/Tablets & Networking (#58058)
      Electronics (#293)

      • +3

I read that bit, but I'm confused as ebay refers to the code against the item itself :-(

        http://imgur.com/WiAEdfp

Hence why I thought i'd ask in case I was doing something wrong. God knows it wouldn't be the first time :-)

Got the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5" 16GB 4G for $525.60 and local pickup at the TGG now. Ok price for OZ stock and Samsung warranty. Will feature as permanent GPS/Internet/Phone device in the center console of our car. Was looking for some time already.

  • Anyone had issues with click and collect with Dick Smith?

I ordered on Sunday, e-mail said order should be ready for pick up at 1 pm at local store today (1.4.15) and to wait for e-mail before pick up.

    But no e-mail. :(

E-mail dicksmith ebay store, received automated reply saying "dicksmithonline is out of the office until 04/01/2015 and may not be able to respond to your message." because "Due to the high volume of messages we have received during tech frenzy promotion has taken longer than usual to respond."

Got a 1300 number to call them if it was "urgent"

Any suggestions on what to do?

    • +1

thought of calling the store you chose to collect from?

      • I was going to call the 1300 number first but they are closed now.

Then I will call the store.

Poor effort from Dick if you ask me.

    • +1

I'm in the same basket, but looks like I'm waiting for stock…

Your order will also be listed on DS's website. If you don't have a login, go to the link below and request your password for the email address that you use on eBay / PayPal. You should get an email which will enable you to log in and look at your order history

      https://www.dicksmith.com.au/customer/account/forgotpassword…

      • Thanks for the info. I have the same e-mail address on DS & eBay and the order shows up. Will definitely call them tomorrow.

        • Good luck with the call centre. They seem pretty hopeless.

I sent a message off to DS on their Facebook page today. They were quite fast at following it up, and hopefully I'll have a definite answer tomorrow.

    • They are still checking the email, i got reply back from them.
I have received my G910 today,
But the box is resealed and S/N does not match between the box and the keyboard.

    • yes ordered on Saturday and had no contact other than they received my order and payment was confirmed, i rang and they said they have not received my order, pretty annoyed I confirmed the store had stock before buying.

  • still no news of my note 4 @ TGG =(

  • Any recommendation for a wireless laser colour printer? thanks! anyone has this? what do you think? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Brother-MFC-9330CDW-Colour-Wi…

  • Looks like TGG wont be getting any more Note 4 Black before this deal is over, bugger

  • Purchased a Sony TV from Appliances Online on the first day of the sale. Today they tell me that it's out of stock at the distributor, would I like to purchase something else. I wasted so much time researching this TV based on their ebay listing which said "1 sold / 2 available". Missed opportunity to purchase different set from other sellers.

Extremely unhappy… what can I do?

    • Can you negotatiate with them for a slightly better television, and they waive the cost difference due to the inconvenience they've caused? wouldnt' hurt to try…

      • I'll try… but next TV up is double the price, next TV down is a TCL…

      • They were completely unhelpful. Not willing to do anything whatsoever.

It's particularly annoying that they didn't tell me the very next day (at the start of the 20% sale) so that I could have picked the TV up from another seller.

        • Is waiting until the distributor gets stock an option for you?

You can always get a refund later on because of Paypal (assuming you paid via Paypal that is).

        • @Donatello: Yeah waiting is all I can do. It's a 2014 run-out model so unlikely that the distributor will get more stock. Fingers crossed.

  • Hi guys,

I got a question about taxing, i bought 2 phones from Kogan $559 x 2. So it goes over the $1000 threshold. Do i get taxed now?

    • Yes

      • After discount it was $447.2 x 2, but i dont think they will invoice after discount. Crap

        • Doubt it. If they do just show them your invoice. You didn't pay over $1000

        • @Fincky: kogan said they will ship and invoice separately. Will have to wait and see.

  • For freestanding electric oven/stove, would appliances online install it?
I understand its shipping covers delivery& removal of the old item, how much would they charge for install? Without touching the wire, they couldn't remove the old one.

    • if its hard wired then they wont remove or install the new one… truck drivers aren't electricians

  • Any last chance deals out there? Most prices seem to have gone up, but some might have gone down since i was shopping on Sunday :)

I already bought the note4 and r7000 router. And dc59 animal earlier from Myers double-discount sale.

  • Oops. Didn't notice the 3 transaction limit. Shame as I've only used $70 of the $500 limit. Guess I should have bundled.

    • -1

Isnt it 3x $500 - saving up to $1500 by spending $6,000 ($7500 before disc)?

      • -1

you sir are on the wrong website.

        Here you go: http://www.math.com/
        Should answer your query

        • Maximum saving $500 PER TRANSACTION (not per account). You are allowed 3 transactions.

So the max saving limit for this promo is $1500 not $500. If your 3 transaction savings add up to $70, you have saved $70 from a possible $1500.

        • @systmworks: I, for one, had no issues understanding your math. So on that front there should be nothing left to explain.

  • Bought P-Link TL-PA411 KIT Mini Powerline Ethernet Adapter HD Streaming 500Mbps AV500 … $46.40, very good.

  • DOH!! Just bought $1500 worth of stuff and forgot to go via cashreward portal. Any chance I can still redeem it if i message them?

    • no I think you can't

      • Could you claim the cashback didn't work?

        Just a thought!

  • Doh! I completely forgot it finished 10:59pm AEST. Got to the checkout about 2 mins too late.

  • 20% e-bay discount In a nutshell: It's 10% discount or LESS

    • Buy the Aldi knock off for $99 next time they get 'em. Bargain!

  • I got a phone off of Kogan on 2 April. Expected delivery is anywhere between 23-28 April.
Is very long delivery times normal with everyone else who bought off Kogan as well?

    • My order was an estimate 2-4 weeks, but this morning I got "Shipping info received by Aus Post" and that it has been dispatched. From reading whirlpool they usually deliver a lot quicker than their estimated times.

      • haven't heard anything from them yet :(
        what day did you order?

        • March 30, but I only got the email today and it says

For your Australia Post delivery, please allow 4 - 7 days (or 5 - 8 days for rural areas, 8 - 11 days for Far North WA) from the time you receive this email for your order to arrive.

        • My Kogan order arrived today(WA)

        • @ozhunter:
          Very cool!
          Enjoy mate.

I got an email from Kogan today saying my order has been processed, but no email about my parcel leaving their warehouse yet.

  • Anyone heard from TGG about their note 4?
I received an email with docket invoice this afternoon but says "DELIVERY UNIT NOT IN STOCK" and nothing else!!

    • +1

I got a call from the Good Guys that I would have to wait a couple weeks for stock or they could cancel my order. It arrived the next day; 4 days from when I paid for it.

      • mmm i guess i can only wait =(

  • Anyone know what the rules are about listing items on eBay that you don't have stock of? TGG store that my OM-D order was allocated to called me to say they don't have stock. I said okay, well why would it get assigned to you? They didn't know. So I called the TGG support office and they said that product is out of stock around the country so it was assigned to my closest store so they can either cancel the order or try and sell me a different product.
I feel extremely cheated by TGG.
    1) What options do I have?
    2) What sort of pressure should I be applying for them to satisfy their end of the deal?

    • 1) What options do I have?

None really, as long as they refund you.

      2) What sort of pressure should I be applying for them to satisfy their end of the deal?

If they don't they provide you with the item, they just have to refund you. Unfortunately, it doesn't if you could have bought the item from a different seller.

      • Thanks for the response. I suppose I'm just very disappointed that I will (probably) be missing out on a great deal.
Part of me wishes they were more responsible with their inventory when selling through 'Buy it Now'.

      • And a big NEGATIVE feedback!

        • your username is oddly relevant

  • Anyone bought anything from Futu, heard any update yet?

    • I bought a whole bunch of USB sticks and two tablets. Haven't heard anything from them.

    • Bought a keyboard and mouse from them and after 7 days with no communication and the item not being sent I contacted them and was told that they have a lot of orders (they have 124,000 stars on ebay so I'm sure they are used to dealing with a lot of orders) and that they will send my order when they get around to sending it. So far I'm up to day 9 and it hasn't been sent yet and I'm very tempted to cancel the order and get a refund but the only thing holding me back is not being able to get the mouse elsewhere at the same price as I paid, the keyboard (Logitech g910) isn't a worry as I can get a different and cheaper keyboard (Razer Black Widow Ultimate $109 at COTD) elsewhere.

      • I contacted them yesterday and they said they were having problems with their email system. Dunno how true that is, but the courier picked up the items from them today. I should get them on Monday. The delivery times matches what was stated on the ebay auction, so I'm happy with that.

        • Received email today said dispatched.

        • @superforever: Same, about an hour or 2 after I posted this I got an eBay alert telling me that my order had been sent. Better late than never I spose.

    • I was looking at a Synology DS415+, but even with the 20% off it was overpriced.
What do you know, they dropped their price on it after this deal ended.

  • +3

Got an email from Kogan this morning saying my items aren't going to be posted until the 37th of April.

I am hoping these changes to April on the Gregorian calender come soon so I can get my goods!

    • That's mean it will never arrive.

  • +2

    TL;DR version at the bottom.

TGG and PayPal have made a complete mockery of my order. Ordered 2 x UA60H7000 Samsung TV's from my paypal. Both transactions were made about 10 mins from each other.

Paypal cancelled the 2nd order as a security alert popped up at their end since 2 x $1500+ transactions were made in a quick space of time. No phone call either to confirm whether they should cancel it or not, just an email 24 hrs later saying they've cancelled the order due to a security issue. How stupid is that?

Anyway, one order went through successfully to TGG. They said oh no, due to the way their system is set up, they have to now cancel both orders as they were made from the same paypal ID. Spoke to the store on the phone who said they will sort the issue with their web team and ensure that one of the orders doesn't get cancelled.

Get an email today saying the TV is out of stock (mind you, still selling on their ebay store). I called the Casula store up they said stock is not an issue but it's the web order team who cancelled the order (Casula told me they prior that they will sort out the issue with the web order team).

TL;DR: Ordered two tv's, paypal cancelled 1, TGG cancelled the other but are unsure who to blame (web team, store or paypal).

Australian retail customer service at their best

  • Ordered a 70D from Kogan (HK). Price before discount $1053. Price after discount $842. Will I be slugged import duties or will sanity prevail and the purchase price be honoured?

    • Bought a phone from them. They declared the net of discount amount…

Bought sony z3 from kogan. Still not sent. Hope I get it by the end of the year

    • +3

      You wish!

    • What did it say in the delivery times on eBay? Mine was a HTC phone, estimated delivery time was mid April, arrived three days ago.

      • Mid april as well. Meh

      • was it the m8, because that's what I ordered, and I still haven't received a dispatch email 8 days after the order processed email.
Just wondering how quickly do they usually dispatch a product?

        • Yes, it was the m8. I "paid" $614 though it's now $603.

  • Ordered 2 packs of eneloops from DS. Two IPAD cases arrived!!

Went to store, got a refund, but… wasted some time & no batteries.

  • Received my TPLINK AV500 Powerline Kit and it is the newest version white instead of black as on their site.

Which I think is better, nice.

  • So still haven't received a dispatch confirmation email from Kogan, 14 days after my order was processed.
    I've sent them an email.
Can I still get my money back if Kogan don't deliver?

    • File a paypal dispute. . I ordered from kogan and received my item 2 weeks ago?
