  • which model is the kogan galaxy s5 model for $542 (I or FD)?

  • +5

Finally convinced wife to let me buy a PS4. $420 delivered is not as good as prior deals but it is a lot better than the current $599 bundle from JB Hifi w/ 5 games, none of which interests me. White version is just icing on the cake. Thanks OP!

    • which store sells this?

      • +1

Sounds like DSE prices, but they're sold out right now

      • +1

yes, DSE. would like to play 2 games. far cry and bloodborne. anyone know where i can get them cheapest?

    • what did you have to give up?

  • +2

no one talking about dyson dc59 animal from tgy $529 down to $423.2?

  • Thinking of grabbing a SYNOLOGY DS214se 2-Bay NAS Server with 2x 3TB WD Red for 429.22 from Kogan. This will be my first and only NAS. Any thoughts?? It's showing about $60 cheaper than staticice but this is a pretty old model and I'm not sure if Synology will be updating any time soon?

    • +1

I have a Synology DS213 and absolutely love it - great performance & great software - go for it!

    • +1

I have the DS214Play Edition with 2x 4TB Reds. Hasn't skipped a beat. Interface is really smooth and great to use.

      • +1

Can't seem to find a good price on the plays unfortunately. Pulled the trigger on a DS215j for $229.30!

    • Just switch from android to windows and fall in love with even lumia 530.

Need to check 830/735 support 4gx or not, I don't think so.

      • Yeah, I'm looking to replace my Nexus 4. I have lumia 630, but want to have a better camera.

        • Moto G has a better camera than Nexus 4. Only $192 from DSE with code

      • and you'll get bored with it within a few months, when you need some apps that M$ doesn't and never have or works half as good as the one on the other platform.

        • +2

At first wp are great, however the more you use them the more you discover why wp only have a few percent of the smartphone market.

  • So with the Samsung edge sold so fast, do you guys think its worth getting the note 4 for ~650 at Dick Smith / Kogan?

    • +10

Don't quote me on this, but between Kogan and Dick Smith, Dick would probably be the better of those two. Pretty sure theirs would be Aus stock.
Again, don't take my word on that one.

As for the price, I can't comment on that.

      • +1

You will probably get your item sooner from DSE (I picked up the item I bought today from a DSE store already).

        • +1

Same here. Surprised to get a call from them today but I'm not going to complain :)

    • item number: 271819188184
nvm, actually doesn't let me add one in cart

  • +4

I feel like I'm the only one that hasn't found anything decent to buy! :(

    • +14

That's probably not necessarily a bad thing….save your wallet!

    • Most of them feel like ~10% of real discount. Some of the sellers do have items I am interested in their own Web sites, but those specials / clearance items are not listed on FeeBay (understandable).

Easier to resist buying toys when the prices are not great.

  • Thanks OP.

  • Just had a quick look on prices for Note 4, so $630 is the cheapest from TGG that I can see, is this right?
TGG & DS looks like they have no listing for Note 4 Edge?, so $851.70 (DS?) was the cheapest, what was the price from TGG?
Do you think they will list it again?

Also it sucks that there is no Samsung Alpha (which I have now,but looking to sell it real soon) accessories listed with this promo, unless I'm missing something.

Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit $145.99 (DS) = $116.80 < is this the best price from the sellers?
My laptop crashes if I have too many tabs open.

    • How about buying a new laptop instead then?

      • I'm only using it atm, as my PC MB and/or CPU dried a few weeks ago, they are both about 10 years old,so cant complain.

Once I get the new parts for my PC, I'll fix it (reinstall W7), should be ok after doing that.

Checking out PCCG for MB & CPU prices, any I should look out for?,anyone.

Thinking of getting the Iphone 6 plus 64 GB for 1045 from Kogan. Does anyone know if we get charged additional duty and custom as the total order price exceeds $1000 ? It wont be worth it for me to pay the GST and still get a grey-import product.

    • +2

That's a good question. If Kogan doesn't charge GST in its price, then I think you will be charged customs and duty. If their price includes GST then you won't. Dell stuff shipped from asia are exempt from duties because you're paying GST on them.

If it's shipped from their AU warehouse you obviously won't be charged customs.

If it's shipped from HK, I think you will because.. their products normally aren't eligible for TRS, which means you aren't paying GST on them. There might be exceptions though.

Honestly though, $1045 is expensive for a phone, especially if it's after 20% off.

Oh and, I think Kogan will declare the value of the goods as not the price you paid, but the price plus 20% that ebay subsidized, because that's the actual value of the product and amount they received for it. It doesn't matter that you only paid 80% of it. Kogan's invoice will be for the full price. They won't actually see the 20% voucher on their end.

      • +1

If you bought the Iphone 6 64gb for 1055 less voucher of 211 do you think you will be hit with customs? If i've got a receipt for paying $844 will i still be charged customs?

        • I'm not sure.. it's risky. Depends what Kogan labels as the price in the customs declaration. You might have a case if you argue it with customs, but you're going to have to make a dispute. It won't be automatically in your favor. Customs won't know about your 20% voucher, so you'd have to bring it to their attention.

You could try leaving a note at checkout and asking Kogan to mark down the value or label it as gift. If they're dodgy they might be willing to humor you.

  • How long does dick smith usually take to send a confirmation/item sent email?

    • +6

      Dick comes quick.

      • that's what she said

    • +1

I bought a Logitech remote today at about 12pm and got a confirmation email within a couple of hours, including invoice and a confirmation email that my item has been shipped (on a sunday!! - WTF?).

      • Should I be worried then? No confirmation from DSE about my note edge :/

        • Not really, perhaps the order that you placed is at a store that has been inundated with orders due to this sale and theyre slowly churning through them. If you dont get it by tomorrow, you should probably follow up and be worried^.

          ^ Optional.

        • @Trishool: Yeah I followed up and they sent me a DSE invoice. It does state that 1 Qty has been shipped so my mind is at ease.

          Im just overly impatient now.

  • +1

got a call from the good guys at Mount Gravatt - apparently my order for a note 4 had been sent to them, despite them not having stock.

well, why can't you get it sent from another store?

lady - it needs to go through our store, then be sent out to you.

…sigh. Okay, well how long will that take?

    lady - 7-10 days.

Oh, that's alright, I suppose from your store to me.

lady - no, thats 7-10 days to us, plus however long to you.

    facepalm

  • +3

i really have it give it to DS this time around. instead of the expected price hike just before the sale started, they actually decreased the price by around 15%-20%, across all 5 of the items i was watching.

    • watcha get?

      • +2

canon gen ink + gopro accessories

  • +1

Well, Dick has raised the …… price, as usual. Moto G 2nd Gen from $241 to $269 now :(

    • +1

Yes, I just saw that, and was wondering if I was the only one seeing it.
      That sux.
I was gonna buy it this morning, but not any longer with the increased price.

    • We just went through the Dick Smith eBay posts and checked the prices. Apart from 2 deal posts, we marked all of them expired due to the price increases (about 26 or so).

    • Well, Dick has raised the …… price, as usual. Moto G 2nd Gen from $241 to $269 now :(

Actually Dick Smiths left their special prices that were for yesterday only in place for today so why complain about that? It's not their fault that you procrastinated.

      • +4

It's still a Dickish thing to do to raise the price on the day a coupon goes active.

        • +2

Not if the prices weren't meant to be that low in the first place

    • +1

Well, Dick has raised the …… price

Dick always gets a hard on when ebay pays 20%. It's free money to them.

  • yeah dick just bumped up the price on soundbars what a joke

  • +2

Sorry if this has been posted.

Bought a Fitbit Charge small earlier today from DSE - $125.65 (reduced to $100.52 with CTECH20)

Now DSE has the same item for $169.

How many items has Tricky Dicky increased during today?

  • +3

Great price on the Motorola Moto E Unlocked - $103.20 at TGG after 20% discount applied. Postage is only $5 or free with click and collect.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Motorola-2684483-Moto-E-White-Unl…

This is a good low-end handset with stock Android 4.4 KitKat, dual SIM, microSD slot. I've bought a few of these for family members with modest requirements. (The Moto G is a good option for those who want to spend a bit more, but make sure you get one of the variants with a microSD slot.)

  • -1

I bought something earlier today, DSE just bumped it up by $100.

  • Hmmm, a pre-owned Xbox 360 Slim 250gb from EB at approx. $132 delivered. 12 month warranty.

Anyone know of one cheaper that comes with a warranty?

Edit: It's okay, missus said to get it :)

  • TExit

  • finally bit the bullet and bought a dell inspiron 13 700 series 2-in-1 tablet laptop for $1199.20 (after discount). 5th gen i7, 8gb ram, 256gb ssd, but only the crappy intel 5500 gfx card…that hole it burnt on my credit card…ouch…

  • Am I doing something wrong as when I enter the code on eBay I get a code is invalid error. The item I know is in the list as it says so on the kogan site and eBay also tells me to use it for an extra 20% off.

Is there a specific sequence to when you need to enter the code?

    Cheers

    • +1

Double check the category the item is placed on. The coupon won't work on other categories except the ones listed, no matter what the page says.

  • +1

zzz have DSE been slowly increasing their prices again? Was looking at phones and the prices have changed from this morning..

    • +2

Yeah they Flipped the switch on just about all their prices couple hours back. Saw the Logitech mouse go from $80 to 130

      • Damn it. Was going to buy an eneloop quick charger for $24 (with discount applied).

Should have bought it earlier. :(

Off topic: Masters hardware have raised the price of the Eneloop Quick Charger to $50. IIRC it was around $30 a few years ago.

  • +1

Thanks but no thanks op. You have just made 1.2k poorer :(

  • +1

yeah! Got an i7 4790k from kogan for $345 delivered!

    • good job man, must have been the last one, cos when i looked there was 1 left.

awesome price, op deserves a +ve for that

  • Can anyone please assist me?

I purchased an item off of the Good Guys ebay site and after saying the code could only be redeemed through a Paypal process, I did it and it showed me the discounted amount to invoice however they've charged me with the RRP and taken the 20% off through a 'Voucher'.

So on my Paypal transaction, it has the 'Discounted amount' and then the 'Voucher' amount which adds to the RRP. I just found it a little misleading as after checking out on ebay, the amount said to be paid was the discounted amount yet my account has been deducted the RRP so just wondering if the terms and conditions state the discounted amount is to be used within the company as a voucher.

    :( Very confused….

    • +3

Lookup your PayPal details, you should have a section like this:

Funding type: Redemption Code and Instant Bank Transfer
Funding source: $XXX.XX AUD - 20% off Tech at eBay #CTECH20
      $x,xxx.xx AUD - BANK NAME

      Pick-up address:
      BLAH BLAH
      AU

Basically, the bank (payment source) is only paying the discounted fare but the invoice has it as the full amount. This is happening on TGG transactions only

      • Thank you so much Huntz and so promptly replying! Legit almost had a little freak out xx

        • +6

Not to worry. This comes up EVERY time.

  • So do you get charged gst if say ordering two phones below $1000 from say Kogan which would be more than $1000 without discount.
And would it be best buying one and then another rather than two same time?

  • Just tried to buy the Kogan 5-in-1 steam mop but code doenst work…anyone have the same issue?

    • Just made a last minute purchase with Futu_online and it worked.

    • +1

The coupon works with the following categories:

      • Cameras (#625)
      • Computers/Tablets & Networking (#58058)
      • Electronics (#293)
      • Home Entertainment (#172176)
      • Phones & Accessories (#15032)
      • Video Games & Consoles (#1249)
      • Home Appliances (#20710)
      • Home, Personal Security (#41968)
      • Fitness Technology (#44075)

In your case if it's this listing then the coupon isn't working because it's in the Home & Garden category.

      • -1

Where can you read the # numbers to confirm if it is counted?

        Thanks

        • I'm not sure about that, but I think you can ignore the numbers. Anyways the best way to see if the coupon works is to just add the desired item(s) to your cart and apply the coupon.

  • -7

    Warning OZBargainers,
I have just purchased a TV from ApplianceOnline. The original price showing as $1288 and after discount it should be 1030.40 after coupon applied to my order.
However, I have been charged 1288 from my paypal and I am contacting them for the resolution now.
Just be aware, in case you guys fall into the same issue.

    • +7

Have you looked up the payment details? It should show something like:

Funding type: Redemption Code and Instant Bank Transfer
Funding source: $XXX.XX AUD - 20% off Tech at eBay #CTECH20
      $x,xxx.xx AUD - BANK NAME

      • Thanks, all sorted, the discount is actually come from ebay rather than those retail stores.
        Thanks again

    • It is deceptive.

Like Ryan says; Further down on your statement it should say the Original Price, then have a "Voucher" discount amount.

  • -2

I just picked up the note4 from dicksmith (bought yesterday) and to my surprise the invoice is for $648 instead of the full amount.

I'll contact their head office today

    • -1

Because the 20% off is from Ebay, not DSE. As many other posts have stated, you must check your PayPal invoice:
Funding type: Redemption Code and Instant Bank Transfer
Funding source: $XXX.XX AUD - 20% off Tech at eBay #CTECH20
      $x,xxx.xx AUD - BANK NAME

      • You misunderstood me. The info you have provided was like that on previous ebay sales. but before, the retail invoice was for the full amount even if you paid -20%. with this sale your invoice is for the amount you paid with paypal, not the full amount.

        • I purchased some items from DSE during the June 2014 ebay sale and I can confirm that the invoice showed full amount. However, the invoice for PS4 (purchased in August 2014, ebay sale), shows $399.2 (i.e. the post 20% amount).

All my purchases from Good Guys, though, reflect the whole amount, not the after discount. Do let us know the outcome, if you pursue this. DSE should put the whole amount, not the discounted price, as in the event of a refund (partial or full), paypal will keep 20% of the refunded amount.

    • Why would it should the full amount? It's a discount, not a cashback.

      • the discount if from ebay/paypal not dicksmith or any retailer.

        • +2

But you paid $648, so it should show that as the total.

        • @ozhunter: I think what he means is, 20% eBay discount usually doesn't show up on invoice, the invoice itself from the retailer shows the full price. Last 20% off promotion they've run, I've received the full price on the invoice instead of the amount I've paid at the end.

  • Just got modem router tp-link d7 for $148 before cashback, pretty happy with that.
