    • honestly just go with a Moto G for $192. You wont feel too disappointed. It does 80% of what the S5 does, and the software actually looks nicer on the Moto…

Also $350 for a Wii U (w Mario Cart) seems like a good deal, thoughts?

    • Probably the cheapest price a for a new Wii U premium console, or there is EB at $308 preowned and instock @ ebgames.com.au

Not as good a price on the Target bundle earlier this year, but cheapest at the moment with the discount.

      • Yep cheapest at the moment.

  • Any deals for Sony, Samsung or Panasonic 4K TV's, 58" or above, below 2 grand?

Seeing a few neg comments on PCCG prices, but i'm finding them not to bad once I factor in postage and the ebay duscount.
For example I'm looking at a new pc case - Phanteks Enthoo which is $259 on their eBay store minus the 20% so $207.20 delivered
On their own website it is listed as $199 but cheapest postage to WA is $68 so $267 delivered, almost a $60 savings or slightly more if you factor in 2% cashrewards for ebay.
On some other items like SSD's I'm getting a $20-30 savings, maybe not much but a saving is a saving :-)

Of course it'll be different for you guys in the eastern states with cheaper postage rates but not all doom and gloom like some previous eBay deals.

  • Bit the bullet and bought the HTC one m8 from kogan. Hope they don't stuff around. Yay. :) thanks op.

  • Awesome, was waiting for the Logitech UE Boom to go on special. $134.10 from the Good Guys (Click and Collect). Too easy.

  • Deciding between Moto g 2nd gen ($192.82) and a galaxy s4 ($382.40) is it worth the extra $190?

    • You won't be disappointed with the Moto G, I have played around with my Dad's one. The software is really nice. In fact the software is so well optimised that it does things faster than the S5:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXw1CULpkL0

Or maybe the S5 is just too bloated/unoptimised

Seems a good deal for me.

    Should I buy it?

    • Not really, 750m graphics :/ won't handle the 4k well at all.

      • agree. 1600$ for that kind of graphics is not worth it. Plus only 32gb ssd.

        • Exactly, a Gigabte p34g with 860m is under $1600

        • Thanks for the thoughts guys!

Just went to buy an item from the Appliances Online ebay store - same price as their own website.
But from their own site they offer free metro shipping on this item, yet on ebay they are charging $150 for shipping.
No thanks, I won't even be saving that much with the Paypal discount.

    • I seemed to notice that as well.

Also their product range is limited on their eBay store compared to their website.

      :(

    • I bought a tv from them. Was going to be 140 shipping to country Victoria. Changed the shipping address to mother inlaws at caroline springs and got the free shipping.

    • $225 to Darwin. Pass.

Hi all - I look after eBay for Appliances Online. Bad news first. Unfortunately we are not able to replicate our site delivery fees which are as granular as suburbs within post codes within states. eBay only has metro or rural for demographic options so we had to make some general pricing decisions for rural deliveries. Not a great experience we know but sadly we cannot change the eBay platform to replicate the excellent customer experience we offer at www.appliancesonline.com.au. Now for the good news. if you purchase the item on eBay you can contact us on 1300 004 200 and we can refund the difference between our site shipping price and what you paid on eBay. Hopefully that helps you in your purchasing decisions!

  • Think I might go with the Gainward GeForce GTX 970 4GB
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Gainward-GeForce-GTX-970-4GB-… for $389.60
A bit shorter than some of the other cards so will fit into case easier

    • No longer for sale.

    • Listing has been removed?

    • They have sold out of the Gainward GeForce GTX 970 4GB now.

Cant decide $430.40 for the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0 4GB
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-EVGA-GeForce-GTX-970-Superclo…

Or $272 for the EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SSC ACX 2.0+ 2GB
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-EVGA-GeForce-GTX-960-SSC-ACX-…

Is it worth the extra $158 or so for the GTX970?

      • There's a huge difference between the 970 and 960. Architecturally they are different, memory wise the 970 has twice the VRAM and twice the memory bandwidth. So they don't belong to the same performance tier.

There's actually another card that will slot in between the 970 and 960 — most likely the 960 Ti 4GB edition. I'm going to wait for this to come out.

        • Ended up ordering the GTX 970

      • My EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0 4GB has been posted

Prices will only rise as our Dollar falls. Buy now, no regrets. Even if you find it $50 cheaper in two weeks, the use you would have gotten out of it would have been priceless!

    • Alright, cheers guys will probably get one off kogan then. You think i could price match the $1087 with dick smith or any other stores?

      • keep in mind kogan is not AU stock and wont be getting 2 year warranty

        • i thought they were? so they just give us an australian adapter for charging? looks like i might just try to price match and if it doesn't work i'd have to wait till easter

i might just wait it out i guess.. thanks for the reminder

        • @jasonduong:

I doubt you would find it this cheap during Easter.

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111592535784?_trksid=p2060353.m14…

I bought this one recently. Kogan is listing it for 15xx$ at the moment. Too bad they only sell this model. I went to apple store and they told me my one was AU stock.

        • Doesn't Apple have international warranty?

        • @marco36:

international for 1 year. ACCC warranty covers another year. Has to be AU stock to have that.

        • @imket:
So therefore we would still receive 1 year warranty regardless? Just not the full 2 years?

        • @imket:
i don't know if i should just get this now or not. is there even any difference between the au stock and the international? or just the chargers and warranty?

        • -1

          @imket:

international for 1 year. ACCC warranty covers another year. Has to be AU stock to have that.

There is no such thing as an ACCC warranty, the ACL led to Apple offering a 2 year warranty for product bought and repaired in Australia.

        • +1

          @jasonduong:

The charger has two plugs, one slots into the transformer block exactly like the AU model. It also has a 2m extension lead which can slot into the transformer block instead of the AU pin plug. This terminates in an international pin plug that needs an adaptor. There are no other differences.

I have an int version from last year, my partner has the AU version. They are identical except for that plug and the substantial saving I made.
If you were considering apple care warranty, that would make it even less of an issue.

        • @mskeggs:
alright thanks mskeggs! cleared things up, how much did you get it for last year? is $1087 a really good price for the 13inch already?

        • +1

          @jasonduong:

When the AU dollar was much higher and Kogan did their group buy during ebay 20% off it was $750.

        • @mskeggs:

cool, i guess this is pretty cheap at this price then. Will probably just consider getting it off kogan. thanks!

  • Just bought breville pressure cooker at $118 cheapest is the original price of $148. New washing machine Fisher Paykel 7kg cheapest is $654 comes to $523. Very happy

I own the BWM640. Bought it for $200 from stan cash.

Great product, very sturdy and makes the ultimate waffles!!

    • Thanks! Probably out of my price range for now. Not keen to spend so much on one yet when I'm not sure how much I'd be using it. Plus I think of the stores available today, only Appliances Online have it, and it's for $249 before discount.

What do you guys reckon? Is this a decent enough laptop for web browsing and excel/word processing?

Just need something that will let me multitask and run smoothly

    • It will be just okay for Web browsing and excel / word. Multi-tasking performance will be disappointing (and the traditional hard disk, instead of SSD will also make multi-tasking feel more sluggish). As a comparison, HP Stream 7 tablet, which was at one stage $89 USD delivered to Australia (from Amazon) has better multi-tasking performance. The laptop has a slightly better single core performance than Stream 7, but not by much.

For a CPU that's weak and at least 1 gen behind, I don't really see the point to get a 15.6 inch laptop with that CPU. 15.6 inch is on the larger size on a laptop so I would normally consider it if the CPU is fast enough to justify the extra weight.

The price is also quite disappointing. Honestly, I wouldn't even consider it, even with 20% discount.

      • Thanks very much for your reply. So glad I decided to ask for advice before taking the plunge :)

Do you know of any better models available?

Ideally I would like a number pad incorporated into the keyboard as I use this feature quite a lot. Not really fussed on weight as I won't be traveling with it too much?

        • +1

There isn't one which really stands out to be considered a bargain. With eBay's high fee, this is more like a 10% discount (which isn't much because once in a while, there would be a laptop deal with real 25% to 40% discount). I would suggest an i3 based laptop, but cannot find one that's really good value for money. You might want to pick up an SSD as it will make a big difference, but that also means you have to take the HDD in the laptop out and put the SSD in (not to mention the extra cost).

        • @netsurfer:

Thanks netsurfer. You've been a great help and I can now stop wasting my time looking for a bargain.

Will definitely keep those suggestions in mind.

  • i needed a new washing machine and just bought a samsung one with a discount of $129 and checked everywhere before hand, i definetly got a bargain as $640 plus new without the 20% discount!

They do free delivery and free removal of old machine. Mine already booked for delivery on 1st April.

        • Cheers any reason you didn't go for the model up with the digital inverter instead of the Ac motor?

Its roughly an extra $50 for the digital inverter

wanted as cheap as possible with a reputable brand, also the Bosch and fisher machines I was looking at did not have good feedback on product review.

        • @hornethomer: Been looking at a top loader during this sale, and was all sorted for the 10kg Samsung from Good Guys at 998 (before discount), but measured the gap and only have 680mm, and all the 10kg ones are 686 or so.

Any suggestions on the smaller top loaders (or why you went with a front loader?)

        • +1

          @kulprit:
          Hi Kulprit,
Firstly look at the energy rating of front loaders to top loaders, basically you will save money on energy costs. Also top loaders do not generally spin as fast as front loaders so your clothes will take longer to dry.
So better energy efficiency and quicker for clothiers to dry. I have space for either but front loaders is my only choice.

Samsung ranks poorly in Choice reviews and their reliability is way below Bosch and Miele the leaders. I wouldn't touch a Samsung appliance except maybe their TVs.
