Got $249 refund in last month statement.
Got 80k Award pts (or 40k QFF pts) in this month statement. Double checked in my QFF account - the points there. Happy

    • You are lucky. I still got nothing. BTW, When did u open the account ?

      • +1

Started using the card when it arrived on early May. Spent more than $500 in that month (first statement) - not sure if that makes any difference

        • Thanks, I was in mid June, have to be patient :-)

        • Started using the card mid May, spent over 500 end of May, still nothing…

  • I was one of the people who applied and got approved, but a standard Awards card arrived. I got 8000 QFF points overnight.

  • Got my 40,000 points in my QFF account today

Spent my $500+ on the 27th June.

    Happy days :-)

    • Weird made the spend late may, still no sign. Got the annual refund a while back though.

      • My annual fee came in on 2nd July, and refund a few days later. It seems very strange why some are getting it and others aren't…..?

        • when i check the awards website (CBA) i can see the "order date" for my points that i've racked up with spends is on or aroudn the 22-24th of each month. I'll be worried if they dont come through then. What dates does yours show? I've had 3 months of points come through so bit strange that I havent been awarded them yet.

        • +1

          @poop:

Correct, my awards date was 4th August, so it looks like it might line up with that…..

        • @poop: Mine came through right on time - was on my 4th statement.
Good deal - time to close the account now :) haha

      • Got my annual fee refund last month, but haven't received the QFF points yet.

  • Yeah I've got nothing either…

    • Got my points this morning.. YAY

  • +1

Repeat of what I posted on whirlpool.

"Worth chasing up if you haven't received either refund or points. My 90 days is about a week away and when I called up today, they said that my account wasn't active for the offer and that they will need to chase it up with the applications team. As I suspected, bank error in bank favour."

    • Called up Commbank just now, the operator was very friendly and confirmed that I am all good with my account, just have to wait a bit, probably till after Aug 31.

    • I sent an message through netbank help centre 3 days ago, got the email replied this morning. Confirmed all good and noticed that the annual fee been refund. Have to wait for few days for the points.

  • Points received. Thanks OP.

Now signed up and need to use the ANZ card for the final 50k points and I'm sorted for first class :)

  • still no points, called up, they are launching an investigation lol

  • I got 20,000 last month and was like WTF! Called them up: I think the 20,000 is for spending X and then the extra 20K for spending Y… so they allocated the first lot before my monthly bill and the next 20,000 after that bill… so it will come in a few weeks automatically. Bit confusing… but happy with the result.

    • well I will wait till early next month, if still nothing happens, then would have to call them again. spent well over 4k already, no refund or points at all.

      • Not to be a smart ass, but have you clarified they have your QFF number or that they didn't put it in wrong?

        • Yeah, they definitely have as I have been receiving my QFF point from them monthly based on my spending, just not the bonus points.

  • +1

Received my statement today. Says Bonus points earned 80,000. To those that received their recent statement and got the points, does it show 80,000?

    • 80k cba points = 40k qff

      • Ahhhhh. Thanks for the clarification. :)

        • I bet you it is 80K QFF and not CBA points.

        • @nadan: Can't be 80K QFF cos I only received 40K QFF points.

        • @runamuck
Ok, mine might be different :)

    • Just checked my account: CBA have paid me 20,000 last month and last week 60,000 for a total of 80,000 Qantas points!?!

      • Amazing, lucky you and me :)

        • Not so lucky, they have withdrawn the extra 40K points from my QFF account.

        • @nadan: They can do that? I through once in your QFF account it's under your control.

        • +1

          @sjfhsueh:

They have done that, so I will have to ring QFF to find out why and how.

  • Anyone still waiting for their yearly fee refund? Been a long time now, called and was reassured about 2 weeks ago, but still nothing.

    • same here, still no points no refund yet

      • me too :((

  • commbank customer service is a joke - called to clarify and they said they'd investigate and call back. no call in over a week!

    • bit of side track, I found Amex provides great customer service (As an Amex issued card holder). Leave them a message, you will get reply within 24 hours. They do try to look after customers.

  • I just called and was told that as the offer condition was that you had to spend $500 by 31 August 2015 the 90 days only starts from then. If they do actually end up keeping my money for nearly half a year before refunding it I will be severely annoyed.

    • The 90 days starts after you've spent the correct amount, depending on which card you went with. It's clearly stated in the offer.

If you're that desperate for the refund perhaps you shouldn't have signed up in the first place.

      • +1

Today's my 90th day since reaching the $500 spend - but no points or refund yet. With my experience I was expecting this to happen.

        • below is reply from CommBank regarding my enquiry:

"I can confirm that all benefits of a special offer on an eligible card are credited to your account within 90 days from the 31st of August after the card is activated and all eligibility criteria has been met."

So you can expect to wait till 1 Dec.

        • @gotcha: FFS

        • Sorry muncan I haven't been able to read through all of the posts, it's odd that you haven't received your annual fee refund yet.
I got the refund exactly one month after they charged the fee to me which kind of gives me a bit of hope that I'm correctly marked in their system for this offer.
Have you been able to confirm with CBA that you have been noted for this offer on your application?

I'm still waiting for my points, this Friday will be 90 days since I hit the $500 spend.

Fingers crossed for all of us!

        • @unco:
muncan is not alone, I am in the same situation. commbank confirmed both time I enquired that my account had been set up correctly and I would get the refund and points.

        • @gotcha:
Ah gotcha :) just checking in case you might've needed to follow it up.
          All good then!

        • All good then!

          Uuuuuuuuuhhh….

        • @unco: Just gave them a call, because it's been 3 months since my $500 spend, I "should be getting the annual fee refund really soon", and the bonus points should be on my next statement (23/9/15). We shall see about that!

  • I haven't received my annual fee refund or the points yet either…

  • Yay, points received.

  • They gave me 60,000 on 27AUG then deducted -40,000 on 02SEP !!! :/

  • still no points, they said points should be in my account today.

    • mine came through around midnight the day they were due.

      • got them now, still waiting for the $249 refund.

        • good on you. gotta see how much longer i would have to wait..

  • Today is 90 days since I reached the first $500 spend, and it's also the day my statement is issued.
I was surprised to see the bonus points awarded in to my QFF account this morning!

Hope the rest of you can get it sorted quickly too!

    • did you get your $249 refund yet?

      • Yeah I got it exactly one month after the account was opened.

        • Still waiting for mine they are saying a number of customers were affected and we have to wait to November for the refund absolute joke

  • +2

I still haven't got my annual fee refund or points. Sent them an email the other day and got a response today from an 'online specialist':

"…if you applied via commbank.com.au/qantas for a new CommBank Platinum Awards Credit Card by 3 July 2015, be approved, activate and spend AU$500 on eligible purchases by 11:59pm AEST 31 August 2015. It may take up to 90 days for the bonus Qantas Points to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account after approval and spend criteria have been met.

The annual fee will still be charged to your account but will be credited back to your account within 90 days from 31st August 2015."

    • +3

Thanks eides. It would have saved a lot of us from worrying if CBA actually sent out some sort of confirmation (welcome pack/email) that we have signed up as part of the promo.

  • +1

    Received my points this month.

    23 June 2015 - Spent $500
26 August 2015 - Points awarded (couldn't see this until I got the statement in September)
9 September 2015 - Points transferred to QFF (on the day statement was issued)

  • +1

I just received my points too… similar timeframe to lolmao

  • +2

As well as money saving etc offers on Ozbargain, it is great having a bunch of friends like this and being able to compare experiences and exchange information. Well done to all who contribute!!

    • agreed. I enquired four weeks ago and head office has yet to respond to my case officer person! this thread gives me a glimmer of hope

  • Received points the other day. Didn't think would get it till Oct as I only spent $500 by Jul.
So all is good. Time to cancel.

  • Finally I received the points. Almost 90 days since spent $500 in June.

  • lucky you guys,. I am now thinking whether it is because I have been spending too much on the card since I got it that they want to keep me for as long as possible before I eventually cancel it.

  • +1

Just got my annual fee refunded, I signed up in June.

    • +1

      So did I!

  • +1

    Approved end of June
Spent $500+ in first statement, annual fee refunded in first statement
Received 40k QFF points end of September (3rd statement)

    • lucky you

  • Can anyone confirm that you have 3 months to spend the minimum of $500? I just spoke to a rep and they said the purchase had to be made by Aug 31st for me to get the bonus 40,000 points :(

    • a few people in the topic have stated by aug 31st

"apply online via this webpage for a new CommBank Platinum Awards credit card by 3 July 2015 and spend at least $500 on eligible purchases1 using your new card by 31 August 2015."

  • I was approved in May and spent $1090 in May. Still have not been rebated the annual fee, and still have not received the 40k QFF Points. I know that it is not 3 months since 31 August, but by comparison to other's, I feel that I am overdue. Does anyone have a 'successful' CBA contact phone number or method?

    • Just spoke with Brandon via 132221, who was very helpful. He confirmed I've met all the requirements and I should have received the refund and points by now (up to 90 days from $500 spend), but he could see that wasn't the case. So he put in a note for the card specialists to follow up, and will call me back next week with confirmation when it's been done.
I feel confident he will come through with the goods, but again we shall see.

      • Nice. Thanks Muncan!! This one has made me sweat a lot.

      • +1

Brandon called me back to apologise for the delay, and that I should be receiving my refund in the next 5 days, and the points should appear not on my next statement, but the one after that.
So up to another 2 months for my points…

        • Hooray, got my 40k points yesterday. So mine took 4 months and 17 days to be credited after reaching the $500 spend.

        • @muncan: good on you, still waiting for mine to come

    • I got nothing either

  • +1

Yes, it seems their service is pretty bad. I haven't received my annual fee refund or the points yet either. So, I have contacted commbank via online email enquiry and received the below response:

    #

I have contacted the Credit Card Helpdesk and they have advised; providing you have met the eligibility criteria for Platinum Credit Card Campaign on offer at the time of your application; the annual fee and bonus Qantas points will be processed by the end of this month.

    • At this stage, I am very disappointed that they have failed to abide by their Terms Conditions as it says that it will be credited back to your account within 90 days but thst's NOT the case for me.

    • This month ends tomorrow. Don't hold your breath! hehe!

      • Yep. I will wait and see. If I haven't received them by tomorrow, I will lodge a complaint:-(

  • me neither!!

  • Called today as original purchase was 95 days ago- girl said the fee refund was scheduled to go through 4 days ago, but simply didn't (lol).

Not sure why that happened, but she put some thing in the system and said to expect it in the next day or two..
    - did get my points approx 5 weeks after the qualifying purchase..

    We'll see…

    • I got the same story a number of times the latest is expect the refund in November. Been with CBA for 24 years and this is pushing me to switch.

  • A note on my statement that I received today says "from 2 November 2015 the annual fee to opt-in to Qantas Frequent flyer direct will change to $30." Words fail me!!!

  • +3

This offer makes me hate cba, if they can't even follow through with a simple credit card offer how are they going to do anything else

  • +2

Finally, I have received a call from Commbank after lodging a complaint and they promised me that they will give me an update asap as they are chasing it up internally. So, I highly recommend you do that if you haven't received anything yet like me…

    • +1

Thanks - now done. Once I receive my entitlements, cancelling the account will give me a great deal of joy and zero embarrassment !!!

  • +1

    Just got my 20,000 points!
    From NAB
    Sigh…

    • lol, that's quick

  • +1

I just called CBA to confirm I'd be getting the refund + points. Apparently my application didn't go through as it should have. I have to wait 20 days for them to confirm I will still get the offer.

This is even after I called after my application was successful to give them my Qantas membership number and confirm I was part of the offer. I don't even.

  • +1

got the $249 refund in my account today, now just awaiting for the points

  • +4

My on-line enquiry elicited the following response:-
"In relation to your enquiry, I can confirm that currently the only way to check that your card was set up correctly with the Qantas campaign offer is by speaking to our applications team directly. Regrettably via our online channel all I am able to check is that you met the eligibility criteria which appears to be the case.
Therefore you will need to call 13 2221 on Monday choosing options 4 the 3 then 1 to find out why you have not received your points and annual fee refund. The applications team only works from 9.30am to 6pm weekdays."
