Just got my SIM today and activated online.

Contacted Web Chat Support to transfer my number from BOOST Mobile… literally instantaneous transfer!!!

For those coming of BOOST, your account # is your mobile number since it is prepaid

  • well worth it

  • Had another go since it was the last day but since I'm on a contract it was a no-go.
The reps are all super cool though.

Breaking contract for an upgrade to a more expensive plan would set me back about 300$ for the extra 'nice to have' GB when my regular usage is only 1.5GB. When my contract ends I lose my bonus data and will drop to 300mb. Jumping to Vaya is looking like the next best option for when that happens. I miss my old TPG plan.

  • No luck asking Vodafone to match this deal after 25 mins wait on the line, will be porting my number over to Virgin!

  • How many velocity points do I get with this? Just had a $146 phone bill from vodaphone for using 10.6GB on my 4GB $45 month plan so time to change.

    • Deal ends today…did you change yet?

I did! Right after posting the comment. Sim is on it's way! And to answer my own question It's 3 velocity points per dollar spent - I was getting none with voda.

  • Signed up.
    Got the confirmations email.

Noticed in the fine orint, the fort m9my is charged pro rata from activation to next billing cycle.
First month is also 50% cost.

If you xan, wait for longest period to get best value of the 50% discount.

    • fatpizza posted on the 4th page said fist month is pro-rata and the 2nd month is 50% off

  • Currently they have the $60 Sim plan with 6GB + 6GB bonus data.
Has anyone managed successfully upgrading the data from the previous 10GB to this 12GB offer but still keeping the $40/month?

  • Anyone on amaysim ported over yet? I'm still waiting, activated Wednesday morning.

    • Are you confirmed for full 10GB and 50% off? I may port over my amaysim prepaid and cancel telechoice. better number on amaysim prepaid

      • Just the 10gb, no go on the 50% as I called up.

        • Finally ported, one week later

        • @eediot: Have others had to wait a long time to port? I'm thinking of activating with Virgin on 29 Feb or 1 March. I'm hoping we'll be ported before our Boost service expires 3 March. Any experiences indicating that it may take longer?

        • @belbo: Boost is Telstra right? Should take a few hours tops as it's automated. Was told amaysim took up to five working days (which it did) as Optus to Optus port was manually entered. Don't know if any that's true, but when I went from Telstra to Optus took about half an hour for the port. So yeah you should be fine.

        • @eediot: Great. Yes, Boost it is Telstra. Thanks for the info.

  • anyone got their first bill yet after the pro-rated period? i didn't see anything rollover yet.

    • I haven't received the first bill after the pro-rata yet but my data has rolled over following the pro-rata bill. Showing ~19gb available.

      • really?? thanks for confirming. I shall contact virgin customer service tomorrow!

        • No worries. Just double checked, rolled over $62 of the international credit and 9.5GB of data. Good luck.

    • On my account page. Today it just shows rollover call and text. No rollover data yrt.

      • I finally see all the rollover. Probably may take another day to reflect?

        • Yeah my billing date is 23th and it takes till tonight to show the data rollover. All good
