  • 3G only, not 4G.

      Updated to cellular ;)

    • But there seems to be a similar one with 4G LTE:

      • LG G Pad 7.0 LTE (per GsmArena.com)

      Deal's SOLD OUT, so it's a moot point…

  • +6

As you guessed only 1Gb ram which isnt mentioned on their site for some reason.

    • +2

But it has a blazing fast SD400

  • +1

Looks like it has lolipop update from LG too

    • Yep, according to this it's upgradable to 5.1 http://www.lg.com/us/support/product-help/CT10000026-1408636…

Also it is an AT&T branded tablet, the info on 1-Day shows a bunch of their pre-installed apps :)

      • So they are American rejects?

        • Looks like it, I wonder if these can be loaded with a local android image.

        • Everything on 1-day is from overseas, don't count on a warranty repair as it will be refund only

  • +5

Great value for a tablet that is as big as most adults.

    • What do you mean?

      • +2

I just found a spare ' out the back, any mod care to add it to the title of this post to make the tablet more accurately described in size?

        • +1

          Ahh, I'm following now.

          Haha.

        • +2

@tranqme: Screen res not very good for 7' :p

        • -1

          @pennypacker:

17.97? You probably want to check your inputs. a 1280 by 800 screen on 7" gives a PPI of 215.63 using the calculator you linked.

        • +2

          @Fiximol:

          Whoosh!!!!!!!

          7"

          Are you following?

Try entering 84 as the diagonal screen size in inches.

        • +3

          @amts:

ive got a nexus 7 first gen. same res, works perfectly fine for reading, videos and pictures.

          the res is decent.
if a first gen ipad mini is fine with its crap res then this will be 100x better. and cheaper…

        • @Spackbace:

Wow, I got two in one reply.

Hint: OP had screen size listed as 7'. It has since been edited. Follow the conversation I replied to.

        • +1

          @pennypacker: Ah. Right. Carry on.

        • @pennypacker: I find it really ironic that you are commenting like that on a 7 inch Android deal. As I recall it "7 inch tablets are DOA".

        • @Oversimplified:

Sorry, you will have to explain yourself. I have no idea what you are on about.

        • @pennypacker: Jobs referred to Android 7 inch tablets as "DOA". Apple released iPad mini after that comment (can't remember the exact year, but I assume you get the chronological order).

        • @pennypacker: And the mouse come from ? lol

        • +12

          @rokkz:

Good grief, it looks like I got at least 7 9 13 going on the downvotes. Let me break it down for you.

          1. OP posts a deal for a 7' tablet (note, this is 7 feet = 84 inches = 213cm = frickin big tablet).
          2. Beginning here, jokes are made about ridiculously big tablet.
          3. I join in with comment about PPI for a screen of 84 inches and comparing it a satirical image from a few years back showing a preposterously large "iMat" and repeat the trope of "Apple innovates, Android steals".
          4. ???
          5. OP is edited to 7".
          6. OBers not following the conversation think I am being serious.
          7. Confusion reigns.
        • +8

@pennypacker: ahh that awkward moment when you have to explain your joke because no one got it.. we've all been there!!!

        • +1

          @supitysup:

          IKR

8.. Joke falls flat for 9 of you (and counting).

        • +1

          @pennypacker: jokes. I like jokes!

  • +1

Thanks OP bought one, for the kids and can be use in emergencey as phone.

    • +6

ohhh… you can use as a phone as well!!
i thought i'd try avoid buying by posting it here so it sells out whilst i'm still undecided lol

  • Ex-At&t USA Trade-in

  • The main page stated 32GB SSD storage

couldn't find any review on 3G

    only 4G and wifi
    http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g_pad_7_0_lte-6554.php

  • its 4g

no you cant make calls only data

    • can use an app called pinger to make calls

      • Is this a question or a statement?

    • There was samsung tab which was a good one to make and receive calls

  • Good price for a budget 3G tablet with a HD IPS screen.
But don't expect the SD 400 to be "Blazing fast"

  • Micro SD card expansion?

  • +1

Guys, is it safe to use your cc to purchase from this site?
    No paypal payment option.
Anyone has experience dialing with this store?
    Please advise.

    Thanks

    • Yep brought a few things in the past.. they seemed okay for me. Noticed the no paypal as well when I purchased. I know they operate from NZ.

    • They are legit. They've been operating for about as long as Cotd has.

    • Safer to use a credit card than Paypal! Read the fine print for both.

    • +2

They may not offer Paypal if a Kiwi company (thought I read that somewhere) because NZ buyers (at least in NZ) are amongst the only western countries in the world that summarily rejects Paypal as being unsafe. And also one of two western countries in which ebay failed (the other being Sweden). There are reasons for this, check google if you want a week's worth of reading!

  • Sorry, going to up-vote this comment

  • Just bought one. Was looking for a decent 7in tablet with cellular, so it is easier to be in the pocket when bring it around.
The payment seems safe. I needed to enter a code sent to my phone.
Hopefully I will get my item on time.

  • It says "AT&T Network Access" - what is the chance this is locked to AT&T for cellular access?

    • Hard to imagine them selling foreign network locked tablets, but it does at least raise the question whether there'll be any carrier-imposed, non-removable stuff on the home screen etc.

    • Talked to the Online Chat - seems like it's locked to AT&T network. I'm sure you could crack it.

      • OP: in the title, it should be stated as Locked.

Btw, do you know how to by crack it? Any ideas?

      • +2

If it's locked to AT&T, and they do not provide Australian services, should this be sold in Australia — thoughts?

        • Looks like there are some services online to unlock devices (haven't tried) but I bought one anyway. I will use it as a reader, movies and if I can unlock it will turn into a GPS. It's cheap enough to give it a try.

      • I just asked as well - rep said they were unsure and would e-mail an answer once they find out.

        • I highly doubt they are going to be sold tablets locked to a US carrier and not mention anything on the site… highly doubt this would happen

        • @ezza: Mentioned in their product requirements section at the bottom. One of the requirement is AT&T network access.

  • can root this? i heard difficult to root on LG devices.
also being USA stock, will the 3G works from australian providers?
and will this better or 2nd hand nexus 7?

  • was looking for tablet as good as my pre-loved Nexus 7 under $100. Finally pull the trigger. thanks OP!

  • Great price. but don't need one.

  • ahhhh 1-day, i used to check them daily, nice to see they still put out some good deals :)

  • Can this be used for gaming!?

  • Fantastic price, but when I think of a Snapdragon 400, I sure don't think blazing fast ;)

  • +1

I'm looking for a budget tablet for my niece and nephew so am interested in this. Their mum bought them a “Laser Pad 7” for Christmas but Google Store would not show the apps they wanted to play (Clash of Clans and Hungry Shark for example) I believe it did not meet minimum specs. They were pretty disappointed. I’m hesitant to buy this as a replacement for them and find it was also not capable of running the apps kids want to play.

Does anyone know if this would support those two games or other popular games?

  • Got one for the kids, thanks OP.

  • Will Miracast do a good job of covering the missing hdmi out port? I wanted to plug the device into my tv. Thanks

    • Gee, we got a $35 "ZTE Chat" (using only WiFi) to run app ChromeCast & show us YouTube videos, without needing to transmit them - frame by frame - to the TV (Google's device, on TV, fetches+displays any YouTube vid's directly).

Of course, the TV needs to have a free HDMI port…

  • HTC one XXXL (since has nearly same specs as XL back 3 years ago)

  • Who's the warranty with? LG or 1-day?

    • 1-day

  • What's the cost to send it back if it's faulty/DOA or during warranty period?

    Above $50 via courier?

    • Better off getting this one least you can take it back easier

      http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lenovo-tab-…

      • +1

        No thanks with those spec.

        Memory: 8GB internal storage,
Camera: 0.3MP FF front and Back camera
        Can't make calls

        • I don't think Cellular mean this deal item can make calls,
unless you mean via, eg, Skype, MyNetFon, or (w/ limits)
          a few others.

I think you'll find "Cellular" means you can pay for & use
over-priced moblie Internet data, with a Data SIM card
          installed. ;-)

Can anyone confirm some/all of this?

  • +1

Hmm I'm considering getting this as a chromecast "remote"

There's a few apps (Red Bull TV etc.) that I would like to use periodically to stream to my chromecasts but I just can't justify installing them on my G Flex 2 and clogging it up when I'll never use it outside of the house…

But then again it's another device I need to worry about charging etc when my phone is always charged and in my pocket ready to go…
decisions, decisions, hopefully it sells out and makes my decision for me!

  • Pulled the trigger to replace a 8" windows tablet, hard to loose. Same price as the Lenovo offering for the same price but better specs.

  • Product Requirements:
    SIM card
    AT&T Network Access
    Wireless network access
Available power outlet or USB port
    microSD/microSDHC memory card

Was about to pull the trigger then I noticed it is locked to AT&T.

    • hence my question above..
also being USA stock, will the 3G works from australia providers?

      • The tablet supports 850/1900/2100 frequencies. And here are the 3G bands used by different Australian Telcos

        Telstra: 850, 2100
        Optus & Virgin mobile: 900,2100
        Vodafone: 850, 900, 2100

        Source: https://www.whistleout.com.au/MobilePhones/Guides/Will-my-ph…

So it will definitely work with Telstra network but may not work in all areas with Optus and Vodafone.

        • Voda has the same frequencies as Telstra, plus 900. Optus only has 900 (plus 2100, which they all have).

  • I'm now 96.98 bucks poorer. Thanks OP😃😃😃

  • How much better is this tablet than this one:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/148752

Thinking of upgrading my current one…not sure whether to pull the trigger.

    • About 2 years better :)

      • Hmmm thinks I'll have to bite.

        Cheers!

  • Sold out

    • Not yet at the time of my post, still have about 2% stocks remaining.

Be quick if you want one.

      • Says 1% for me, but the buy it now button is gone :(

  • Sold out

  • Back in stock - just got one.

  • +1

Buy it now button goes on an off regularly it would seem. Perhaps it's a gimmick to make you rush to buy when you see the 'buy it now' button is back.

    Worked on me.

    It's back at 13:23

    • +1

      1:23 A.M or 01:23

      • You're right. I completely missed that rookie error lol. It was late, I was tired.

  • How are you guys planning to unlock it? I want to buy this but I don't think it's worth the price if I need to spend more to unlock it.

    • Sold out anyway…

  • +2

If it is locked go to https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/?#/ and follow the process to unlock it.

    • Anyone have problems unlocking it?

Thank you for contacting AT&T about unlocking your mobile device.

Unfortunately, your unlock request was denied because:

You haven’t fulfilled your service contract.

You can submit a new request once you complete your service contract.

Questions? Please call 800.331.0500, or dial 611 from your AT&T wireless phone
