Not bad for 2 bucks. But in no way they are worth 5 bucks.

    • +1

That's true. But the fact that its reduced it to $2 on during a certain time period for any product makes people believe its not worth the original RRP

    • +4

You've probably never worked in the CBD.. Sandwiches for $5 is "cheap" considering most cafes and places will ask up to twice that price with arguably better "taste" or not.

      • If you are in Melbourne, there is a whole strip of shops in the alley opposite Degraves on Flinders Lane. Most of the have 5 dollar baguette and rolls.

That's as CBD as you can get.

        • Let me know if there's an equivalent in Sydney.. because I cant find any around and I go everywhere to look for cheap and decent foods.

        • [@tonka] (/comment/3989598/redir): Surely these are worth more than 5 bucks in the city?

      • +1

there is also a difference between 'servo' sandwiches and sandwiches bought from a cafe

  • +10

Wish this deal stays 24/7 all year :)

    • +76

      sorry, only 7/11

      • +3

        Good Call!

  • Where is this advertised?

  • +13

alas the free soup and krispy kreme coupons expire today. it could have been a 3 course meal tomorrow

    • +1

For $2, it's a reasonable deal, think about buying the stuff and making it.

    • +15

Yes but 7-11 Sandwiches have meat, veges and condiments in them.

      • +19

Plus stuff always tastes better when someone else makes it.

        • +1

especially when that someone is a hot chick

        • +11

          @JetLi:

Which 7 eleven has a hot chick ?

        • @JetLi: Indian?

        • +1

@Savas: yeah pretty much, and their surrounding neighbours

        • +5

@JetLi: now they they have to pay proper wages our local one has some non indian staff.

        • So close to 30……

But you get a free cookie , that was the point of the deal

$1 item , quickly do the 1 min survey and then claim they cookie

Plus it's not like I negged the deal or didn't vote , it's a great deal just pointing out cheaper to make your sandwich at home

        • +3

Cheaper to make your own coffee AND biscuits at home too. And multiple biscuits to boot, without having to fill out some survey!

        • -1

@rodericb: one of the doctors i seen the other day cost $00.47 ea for his coffee…yer nah, biscuits are hard to make

      • Coffee is 70 cents at the coles expressway. And thats in Darwin. I am assuming its much cheaper else where?

    • +2

      7/11 is a sweatshop/convenience store, not a charity.

    • Give us a total cost breakdown including labour.

    • you always say this, and i always cringe and laugh at you for saying this.

  • good timing.
I need some for Wed Thu..
I'll have to eat them a day old on Thu though

    • +8

They're probably more than a day old when you buy them.

  • -3

    Who makes these sandwiches ?

    • +3

      Sweatshop workers.

      • -3

        It wouldn't surprise me.

        Are they imported ?

        • +13

          The sandwiches or the workers?

      • +3

Key ingredient in each sandwich is sweat… :P

        • @Baebs:

          So…. salt? Lots of it?

    • +5

I had a mate who used to work in these sandwitch making places. Let's just say the hygene of the people making these is not the best.

  • Wait for it..

    • +5

      "they're blood sandwiches"?

      • +2

I'm going to wash my seven eleven sandwich down with a refreshing sodastream. Mmmmmmm, blood sandwiches meet blood bubbles… 'n git in mah belly!

      • Good for breaking into the exclusive vampire clientele

    • it'll probably go off if you wait too long.. hehe

    • +8

      …dary?

I can't recommend these sandwiches. I bought one at the North Melbourne 7-11 about 2 months ago and while I was sitting eating it, my new Ozbargain'd Xiaomi phone died. The screen just went black and never turned on again. I sent it back to China to be fixed under warranty but I still don't have it back.

So I'd say be very careful when eating these sandwiches with a phone in your hand.

    Your results may vary.

    • +3

Well, my Sony Xperia Z survived after holding (then eating) my 7-11 sandwich. Guess I must be lucky.

      • It`s miracle. You must be lucky.

    • +5

      So phone isn't fine?

    • I've eaten a few of these sandwiches while holding my Ozbargained Xiaomi with no issues. However, the other day while holding my brand new, $1k handbag, I dropped the said Xiaomi on the concrete and smashed the screen. I then proceeded to say that I do not want this phone in my handbag any more in fear of the sharp pieces falling off and damaging my bag. You can only imagine the shock on my poor husband's face.

So I'd say the sandwiches are safe, but a $1k handbag is another story.

      • Must ask husband for birkin

        • yeah we'll see about that. Husband looked at Chanel and said that they're the most ugly handbags ever made. Can only imagine his reaction to the Birkin, let alone the price tag.

What time do these fresh sandwiches hit the stands in the morning?

    • +29

      About Thursday.

    • +18

Every store gets their stock delivered at different times. It doesn't just fall from a hatch at a precise time.

      • +2

That was a priceless mental image. Or at least $2.

        • +2

OP any good deals on sandwich hatches plz

    • Sandwiches are on display for days also.

    • +1

Well I start work at 7am so I want to know if I'll be picking up Tuesday's stale, or Wednesday's fresh. I guess they're delivered some time between 7am and 11am.

      • +2

this is often tough. When one of these promos was on last year, i was starting at 8am and the 7-11 i went past at 7am never had any. Being a 24/hr location on a freeway, most of the old stock was bought in the early hours of the promo and they didnt get the "wednesday" delivery until later (most stores ordered way more on wednesdays)

  • +1

    how fresh are these?
Don't think I've ever bought any food that wasn't in a sealed pack from 7-eleven before
Maybe I've just watched too much simpsons and am put off by what happens at the kwik-e-mart

    • +2

now what's wrong with kwik-e-mart?! I go there all the time…

    • +6

That egg salad sandwich from Futurama put me off this deal. I don't want a worm infestation, even if they do make me smarter/fitter.

      • "My forefathers came over here on the sandwich!"

    • +1

They are supposed to be made and delivered fresh daily.

    • I can confirm they are deliverer fresh every night (just took a job at 7-Eleven). Food safety standards are pretty strict.

  • +2

I like these. I'm glad they're back. Lunch tomorrow saw'id!

    • +10

Poor you. She cooks like 7/11.

    • +1

There's better ways to off the in laws then with expired $2 sangas no?

    • +6

Yep, people are already queueing up.

      • +2

These $2 sandwiches are like their Krustyburger Ribwich. There's a cult following.

        • +1

They're somehow addictive. I actually paid full price once.

  • starts tomorrow?

  • +2

Welp, with prices like this I guess my good friends Uhnder and Payyed will have to wait a little longer for their 'correct' wages.

  • -1

Comes with free weight loss too!

    • -1

Should come with a free stomach pump

  • +2

Bought my first two sangas this morning. Fantastic value and expire tomorrow. Writing my will and goodbye letters as we speak! :)

    • I enjoyed today's sandwiches as well but arriving at 11:50am meant I'd already missed out on the chicken ones… oh well will get them before work next week!

  • +1

sign out the front of my local 7/11 this morning for anyone else (like me) doubting the validity of this deal due to lack of official online advertising this morning (now updated on their website at 9am)
