Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

Master131 spends a lot of time creating and maintaining the script at Project Zero Three that we all know and love.

From the screenshots in the Appstore
seems like the new app is using one barcode per account
and fuel lock is associated with that account (instead of the pervious 7-days valid barcode)

Checked on the App version history
Apple app store has already updated to the new app (16 June)
Google play store was still last updated on 5th June

    • Wow, surprised the app is so highly rated on both google and apple store…

Gonna be interesting for those who have android 8 or lower as it won't allow them to install the app at all.

      • I believe they intended to use the same app bundle id
so for those who are on Android 8 or iOS 11, they will be using the latest version 1.10.2044
while anyone else will be forced to update to 2.0 (the new app)

        • +1

No dice. Old version takes me to play store with a message "this app is no longer compatible with your device"

    • Hm, Looks very similar, just some slight graphical changes and they changed the app name to "my 7-eleven."

Surely there must be some underlying framework changes in the backend too? Otherwise this sorta stuff could've easily been pushed in a normal update.

      • Gone are the Store Finder and Our Fuels tabs

  • +15

    Ok so…

Changing app version in the Python script to 2.0.0 allows you to login, old version numbers (so the old app) can no longer login.

After logging in you can still create a fuel lock to the goodcall API, however the new version off the app seems to use an API on app.api.7eleven.com.au, which I haven't fully figured out yet.

This means you can lock in with the script successfully, but you cannot see this lock in the app. I would recommend Noone try to create a lockin using just the python script for now to the old API, as it would be a great way for them to see invalid accounts.

    Login is handled at auth.7eleven.com.au

Will keep playing around during the day, can't do much at 5am on bed on my phone lol

    • I can confirm that the Fuel price for store API is still working
Meaning that at least atm project03 should still able to find the cheapest fuel store (and their geolocation)

    • Hi, thanks, May I know how do you change change the app version to 2.0.0? Cheers

      • +1

Edit your settings.py, there is an app version parameter :)

    • Sounds promising we may be able to get the Python script back up and running soon! Thanks for taking a look.

Is changing the API as rudimentary as the app version change, I would assume it is much more complicated though?

  • +3

I can confirm that fuel lock on iOS (ios 13.5) still works perfectly via the xcode method after upgrading to new 7-11 app (2.0.0.10867). Just locked in both 91 and 98 on my two accounts.

    • Worked for me on iOS using Relocate tweak in jail broken iOS 13.3.

    • Have you been able to redeem them?

  • Is anyone having issues logging in to the new app (iOS) with their existing account details?

    • Yes, failed login on the first try, then worked when I tried again.

      • I just tried reinstalling the app as well as resetting credentials.
I get the email from the password reset and it says

        Hi,

Unfortunately, you can't use that email. Please try again with a different e-mail.

        • For what it’s worth
On any of my 3 accounts that all worked on Saturday, I get

          Error G09

        • Same here. Must be some sorta glitch.

    • No, logged in first time with existing credentials

    • Logged in without issue.

  • BlueStacks can't find the new app.

  • +4

FakeGPS location recognized in Android latest app.
    Message:

    Uh oh!
We've detected your location isn't true. To continue, please correct your location.

    • How can we by pass this? looking for some android apps

  • I logged in with one of my accounts that had a fuel lock but cant see the barcode.

    • +4

You scan your “my card” to redeem offers and fuel lock

      • To add to that, the fuel lock and membership barcodes are now combined into one.

        • +1

Says New Version Available, Takes me to Playstore, then back. Are we meant to un/reinstall?

          • +1

@capslock janitor: As you likely have the modded ap you probably need to uninstall first as it wasn't installed through Google Play.

  • +7

I can't even update the damn app as I'm running on android 8.

    • +1

      Same :(

I've been meaning to install android 9 custom rom on my Samsung s7… Looks like nows a good time

  • I want to know how I can convert my credit to a gift card or have it refunded.

    • There’s a web link, but currently my login isn’t working.

      • Neither are any of ours. On the website it stats "Your log in details have been previously provided via an email from fuelappgiftcard.7eleven.com.au. Not received your log in? Contact us at 1800 497 209". We didnt receive an email on any of our accounts so would say they probably expect everyone to call to get the login details

        • I think it'll be a different login to the one from the 7-11 app. I haven't received an email yet. Has anyone? I'll give them a few more days in case they are still working it out.

          • +1

@skid: I got an email with explicit instructions and link to that website.

You dont need to wait for the email tho, just do a forgot password and they'll send you a temp one.

            • @CodeXD: That's what I ended up doing.

Would be nice if they mentioned how long it might take to receive the gift card.

All they asked was to update the contact details and they will send the card out. But when?

  • Merged from New 7/11 App "My 7-Eleven" Does Not Work with Nox

I am no longer able to lock in fuel using the Nox emulator following the update today. It appears that the app no longer supports Android 7.1.2. Does anyone know any alternatives to Nox?

    • +3

      Same with BlueStacks

      • Is there any other simulator with Andriod 9.0 above working now for 7/11 ?

    • +9

Im not going to give it all away but here is the 911 on the 711 app for how you really sort this out (haven't tested it on the new app yet, but im sure it will work)

Previously my trick was to decompile the app, remove the location restrictions, remove certificate pinning, replace the maps API key and recompile and sign the app with your new signature. Then I had a side app I made which would scan all of the 711 stores for the cheapest price, get the geolocation of the store, set the mock geolocation on the device to that one, fire up the 711 app and you would lock in like normal.

Alternatively, there was an open source project for the old app that had reverse engineered the entire api and you could lock in from that, then use an uncracked app. Sure you had to host it but it was ultimately a bit easer than the previous option and didn't die every time they decided to kick you off.

      • +1

Wow that's very informative. I remember reading a reverse engineering guide for 7-Eleven by Freyta a while back. I have a few questions:

        1. What software do you use to decompile the apk? JADX?
        2. How/Why do you have to disable certificate pinning?
        3. Is signing the app necessary?
        • +11
          • Asks pointed questions about how the app is reverse engineered
          • Marked as "Associated"

          Hmmmm…. *thumbs chin*

      • +2

        You mean 411?

        • +3

They gave you 500 for free! You should take it!

    • +17

I mentioned months ago that a friend who worked for the company who develops the app was working on an update which would lock out third party programs and services that can trick your location etc. I was downvoted to oblivion when i made the comment.

They have spent months rebuilding the app from the ground up among other changes it checks your location when you pay for fuel etc and detects if you have changed permissions on your device etc, if any of the required conditions are not met the app will not allow you to use it.

You also can not use the locked in price if you are not in the same region (i am not sure how they qualify what the region is) as where it was locked in.

(Have not ticked "associated" as i do not think it qualifies as he works for an app development company not 7/11 but if mods think i am then they can update it)

      • +9

I remember this comment, however at the time you actually claimed they were removing the fuel lock feature all together. They haven't.

You now claim they have set the new app up to deny locks that were locked in different "regions", we've already seen people successfully spoof a lock in NSW and claim in QLD. I'm assuming a different state would be a different "region". This claim also appears to be untrue.

I'm not trying to be rude, you may well have "inside information", but forgive us for being a bit sceptical.

    • +3

You also can not use the locked in price if you are not in the same region (i am not sure how they qualify what the region is) as where it was locked in

Interesting as within a week it is easy to be from Melbourne but in Sydney and even up to Brisbane.

      • The FAQ on the new app still says that you can redeem the fuel lock on any 7 Eleven store Australia-wide. One might have a case to raise a complaint if they can legitimately show that they locked the price in Sydney and were prevented from using it in Melbourne (for eg).

      • Just had a quick scan of the conditions and there was nothing to say you had to redeem in any particular location. This doesn't preclude them from checking behind the scene and suspending/cancelling suspect accounts though.

    • It appears the app no longer supports Android 8.1 either.

      • I guess I'm just going to uninstall it then… Most android apps only require ~4.4

        • +1

Says on app store Android 9 and above. Lucky I have an Android One phone.

But it is pretty stupid as a simple piece of research can show what versions people are on. I'd suspect a lot of people would be on 7 & 8 consider a new version comes out every year and people keep their phones on average 2 - 3 years.

    • +5

Properly we need to wait another it guys to make another hack version

    • +11

One hell of a ride while it lasted though.

    • +2

I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. Guess I'll get more use out of my jerry cans, it seems to work out cheaper anyway if you only fill up at the bottom of the cycle and stack a few discounts.

      • If it's true then yes, back to Caltex/WW for me with discounts.

    • +2

If you're an associate then you should be the one sharing how to around around it 😛

    • -1

There'll be a way as always.

    • +1

Does anyone know where all the credit/money went with the new app?

      • +1

They sent me an email about a month ago saying it'll be given to you in the form of a gift card. I don't know the process so check your email, thankfully I spent all my credit before they removed it

      • Go to the 7-eleven website and claim your balance back from there.
Just need to log into your account.

      • Check your junk mail, I got an email from them that was in junk, with an easy to follow set of instructions for mailing my remaining balance to me on a physical gc

    • -2

New app, can't see cash balance in the app.

      • hahah they took everything

        • +1

Probably. Just like they do with all the FREE products.

          • +1

@netjock: On 14 June at 11.59pm the My Card will no longer be available on the Fuel App. If you have funds remaining on your My Card you can have this reimbursed to a 7-Eleven Physical gift card by following the link below. Your log in details have been previously provided via an email from fuelappgiftcard.7eleven.com.au. Not received your log in? Contact us at 1800 497 209

            • @OpenAI: Thanks. Appreciate it.

              • @netjock: did that site work?

                • @Cataclysm: Updated details. Looks like it works. Otherwise will call them. Searched my emails and I definitely did not receive a notificatin.

          • @netjock:

Probably. Just like they do with all the FREE products.

            Sorry, the system is down.

      • You can no longer put money on the app, I believe.

        • what about when y'all process a Claimed discount via email?

    • +1

Just used the new 7 eleven app with a iphone by spoofing another location, locked in a price in another state and will try fill up this afternoon and see if I get detected/refused service/banned.

      • You spoofed a location using regular or jailbroken iphone?

      • Details please

      • Which iPhone app your are using for spoofing location?
I used Anywhere!, but the video ad is very annoying…
        http://cydia.saurik.com/package/net.85819.ios.otrlocation/

        • +1

Im using Relocate on 13.5 A12 works a treat with no ads and very clean.

          • @danielxleet: Is this on iPhone? Can't find it in app store…
Would you mind sharing the link please?

            • @KahJih: You need to JB and install Cydia first.

          • @danielxleet: How are you bypassing the JB detection?

      • Would also like to know which jailbreak app you managed to get working with it. Mine has the jailbreak detection pop up :(

      • How'd you get around detection? The suggested Liberty Lite Beta isn't working anymore to bypass detection.

Edit: Figured it out, Liberty Lite Beta still works however it seems like they're using some sort of one flag per install system. If you click on "My card" while jailbroken it seems to do additional checks and ends up blocking the app from opening again. However you can get around it by reinstalling it and logging back in. Not sure if the account gets flagged as well, but just avoid opening your 7/11 card in app for the meantime until further bypasses are found.

        • +1

          Install FlyJB to bypass detection
          Successfully locked into North Ryde

          • +1

@rzrz: Looks like the FlyJB repo was taken down :(

            • +4

@dsar: Yep, I couldn't find a reliable .deb either so I gave up on using FlyJB. Apparently sometimes it caused battery drain issues so I doubt it would've been viable for daily use.

Instead I found the jailbreak bypass Shadow working for me! You can find the repo here (thank you /r/jailbreak redditors):
              https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SGW7FEeOoay11mv33HT9…

I'm using both Liberty Lite Beta and Shadow together (not sure if required, but works for now), I checked "Enable Advanced Filters" under Dynamic Libraries and generated a file map before respringing from Shadow settings. Logged back in, moved to a new location with Relocate and viola it worked! No longer crashes when I click on My Card either.

              • @ktek: Is both Liberty Lite Beta and Shadow both active on the 7 eleven app? The shadow app is by the best I've used. Thanks for that. Looks like the only issue I have is that the 7 eleven app is still somehow using my real location despite relocate working fine on Gmaps. And yep, doesn't crash when clicking on my card either.

                • +1

@dsar: I have the same issue with it using real location too, but the trick is to disable Shadow to change location and lock in, then close the app and re-enable Shadow so you can redeem with your card. You should have Liberty enabled on 7eleven all the time, seems like it works 90% of the time and Shadow bypasses the remaining 10% (or a little too much since it even uses the real location).

                  • +1

@ktek: Wow it worked. Thanks a ton @ktek

      • +1

were you able to use the lock in?

      • Did you fill up?

    • Hope a workaround is found, have enjoyed getting slurpees with my cheap fuel.

My balance has disappeared from the new app, and no email about how to recover it. Hrmm!

    • +8

I only started getting fuel at 7/11 because of this app, even though it's far away from where I live or work. I understand why they updated but they should be smart and let people do it anyway - more business to them rather than the competition

    • +1

Still running an S7 so can't use it at all now which is disappointing as we rely on this app which consistently gets us cheaper vs local prices.

      • I also have an S7, Its running custom android 8.0.0 which i understand isn't compatible any more, I'll wipe my phone and put android 9.0.0 on it over the next few days and Magisk and see how i go. Will let you know.

        • Planning to do the same on my S7.

Downloaded blackdiamond N8 Pie and I'll see how I go tomorrow after work
