Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

Master131 spends a lot of time creating and maintaining the script at Project Zero Three that we all know and love.

        • @steff: You basically go to Google Play and click "Uninstall App". Once you've done that you can email Scotty to delete your OB account. Hope that helps. :D

@steff: Think that was meant for NaviGun

        • @h4lcyon: yeah i think you're right. i was like wtf haha

        • That's fixed now

        • @steff: Yep was directed to Navigun… he is either innocent or a covert spy.

    • Thanks Buddy!

Prices for Eltham on nuggets script are incorrect.

  • I have a samsung j1 mini and since i updated the app, the lock now red button is no where to be seen. I tried to everything but it didn't work, i think the screen is too small and the app developer doesn't code for that page to scroll down . Please help me ??

  • Anyone else having trouble locking prices? Finds the price, and I press lock but doesn't seem to actually lock in the price. Definitely haven't gone over the daily lock-in limit.

    • +1

i can't log in now. i think the system is down at the moment

      • Yup, just got a notification about their payment systems being down.

    • last night tried pay by 7/11 credit, staff got 'invalid token' error. ended paying using credit card

    • There system is down

    • I had an issue about 40 hours ago where I locked in the price, loaded up the app (with $50), fueled up, yet I couldn't use the locked price voucher, nor the app to pay (with or without the fuel lock voucher applied).

Must have been a major issue that they (7-eleven) are now aware of, as they advised me there's a fix on the way (via FB message, I messaged them about my experience).

Was not happy I had to pay out of my debit card after fuel locking then loading up the app, not to mention was embarrassing and frustrating having the funds there, yet not being able to pay with it.

  • So just so I have this right, I have to have the amount of fuel I want to lock in available in my 7-11 app? So if I leave $80 in my wallet I can lock the price in and then just pay with my card as normal?

Also I have $5.43 in my account, can I use that as a part payment for my next fillup and cover the rest with my CC?

    • +1

Whats difference between having $5.43 in account and $80 in wallet?

      • The 7-11 wallet (the app)

        • You will always need $$ in your 7-11 wallet to lock price. Hence i always pay by CC and keep money in wallet. But you can pay by wallet while filling up your car.

    • last week I had around $20 left in my app as i was trying to spend it all so i could replenish it with a new amount (i've had my credit in there for a year, didn't want it to expire).

The guy at 7-eleven told me that you can only use 1 payment method when you use the 7eleven credit - and that you can't mix it with another payment method

but then again maybe he just didn't know how to do his job…

      • what? it expires????????

        • +2

          Yes 24 months

        • Expiry Date
5.1. Expiry dates can be found on the receipt or voucher when purchasing a Gift Card or when using eGift Card to purchase products in a 7-Eleven store.
5.2. The expiry date is 24 months from the date of issue or the last time the card was used to purchase goods and/or services.
5.3. A 7-Eleven Gift Card cannot be used after its expiry date. Any Card Balance that has not been used (that is, redeemed) at expiry is reduced to zero and can no longer be used. No refunds are provided for any unused Card Balance at expiry.

      • I call bullsh1t.

I have use my credit card to top up, as I purchased bread and milk in store.

Paid for most on the app, topped up with credit card.

      • When it first started I had all kinds of issues, as I would lock in say 30 litres, but pump 35. You should be able to pay for the locked in 30 litres with available credit and pay for the extra 5 litres at full price with your CC. But because the 7/11 drones weren't trained properly, they argued black and blue that they couldn't do it. So at least 3 times I'd call head office on the Monday morning and have a whinge, and they would credit my account with $25 as a good will gesture and tell me that next time it will be OK. It's best to not go over the locked in amount.

      • It's like frequent flyer points, you need to have an active cash transaction once every period. Make sure you top up or spend on your account once per 24 months.

  • Fairfield is 78.8 LPG . Anyone know cheap LPG?

    http://tiny.cc/11-seven

I've set up an alternative price checker. All best prices are obtained via crowdsourcing and government data and are then automatically verified with "11-Seven".

    • Cool. A good compromise. Nice script!!

    • Thanks

    • How does this differ to 8-Twelve?

      • +1

It actually double checks the price with 7-Eleven directly so any outdated/inaccurate prices are never shown.

    • +1

any chance of modifying to to be per state?
I somehow feel slightly less 'T&C breaking' if im at least locking in a price thats in the same timezone as me ;)

          multi national companies.

true, but I'd just like to make it less obvious if they ever start trying to audit this..
Going from say Sydney to Wollongon in a couple of hours.. easy
Going from somewhere in WA to Sydney in a couple of hours..slightly harder to achieve :)

        • +2

@SBOB: I once did a fuel lock for Long Jetty, NSW while I was sitting in the car parked at the pumps in Bankstown NSW. Filled up, paid for it on the app and everything. Guy didn't seem to care too much…

        • @glowstix047:

nah, they have no idea where its from (and i doubt look at the time to expire which in your case would have been like 6 days, 58 mins )

just seems that if theres a price in WA and one in NSW for the same price, locking in the one closest to me feels more 'realistic' :)

        • @SBOB:
yeah I know what you mean..

I dread being asked but never have. The attendants always seem happy and comment that I am saving money.

          cheers

I can add that in an update soon when I have some time, stay tuned.

      • +4

The best prices by state feature has been added now.

        • Great work, thanks heaps mate.

    • thats great, thanks! should this link be added to the main post?

    • +2

Looks good. Interestingly, right now mine is picking up Revesby South, which is cheaper than Quakers Hill. Not sure if that's due to the run frequency of your script? The Revesby South price has been there for at least an hour.

      • Could be a bug, I'll look into it. Thanks :)

EDIT - Fixed it, looks like I missed that area. Cheers Nuggets.

        • No wuckas, thanks for your work with the improved data! Looking great.

    • Do you know if the 11-7 site is down?

  • +2

HHmmmmm….. just filled up with Diesel, at the $1.239 price. Price in my area is $143.9

After the price lock barcode was scanned, was told by the attendant that "my token is invalid". I laughed and asked him to try again. Luckily, it went thru.

I wonder if they are starting to crack down……

    • +3

Doubt it. Probably just a scanning or transmission error.

    • +1

I think it's more operator error. They don't hit the right screen.

  • Any punters here?. Whats the odds of U91 dropping below 118.9 before the weekend?

    • This week will probably be the low..

  • Does anybody get a free regular coffee for locking in a price each time?

    • I believe that's only the first time we lock una price

      • Mmmm strange I got another.

        • Yep I got one as well just t then. They do release free vouchers from time to time for the regular coffee

        • It's a new cycle for 7-eleven offers.

  • is their system down again? cannot login :(

it is working again after 30 minutes down time~

  • -1

Has anyone been able to screenshot the price lock and then use the screenshot after it's expired?

    • +2

I doubt that would work as the pos would verify that with their back end system.

      • Hmm well you can screenshot the barcode in the offers section and then use that barcode when the offer disappears

        • They disappear before their expiry.

        • @jdogg,
Have you succeeded in using expired barcodes in the offer section?

        • +2

@Joe888: Once past the expiry date the barcodes no longer work.

The exception is barcodes for limited offers like a free Slushi when it's hot.

You can take a screenshot of those and they will still work as long as you use them before the expiry date, even if they are not displayed because it's not hot enough.

    • Haven't but I know your conspiracy. But it won't work. I once have a voucher expired on 2pm that date, didn't check time and by 5pm the app said my code expired but the actual barcode was still available to scan and no way to get rid of it to get a new price lock. So I decided to have a go with the old code but ended up paying bowser price for that fill up.
so make sure you check expiry time of your code, to the second.

      • If you logout and login it forces a refresh

    • I've tried that about a year ago and it didn't work (as expected lol). Ended up using another account which has a valid lock voucher.
On the other hand, those offers which disappeared before expiry can still be used up to their expiry.

  • Hey guys, can this one runs 7Eleven apps and Fake Gps?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/359032

    • Android 4.4.2 = Should do

        • Oh okay thanks

Prices have been so bland and steady this thread has been pushed to the next page.

    • I miss the sub $1.10 days

  • 132.3 for 98 in Werribee appears to be a mistake on Nuggets script.

    • +1

It was legit for a couple hours. I recommend using master131s script as outdated/inaccurate prices are never shown: http://tiny.cc/11-seven

  • TheOneWhoKnocks mentioned that the price has been so steady lately, it just got me thinking, would that be cheaper to fill up in Woolworths Caltex using the 5% discount E-Gift Card plus when you have those 4c fuel voucher?? So, i was doing some calculation comparison and trying to find out when i should simply fill up in Woolworths Caltex instead.

Please correct me if i was wrong in some parts.

    1.

    7-Eleven
    100

Woolworths Caltex (First bracket column with 4c fuel voucher + 5% Gift Card / second one without 4c fuel voucher but with 5% Gift Card)
    105 (95.95) (99.75)
    106 (96.90) (100.70)
    107 (97.85) (101.65)
    108 (98.80) (102.60)
    109 (99.75) (103.55)
    110 (100.70) (104.50)
    111 (101.65) (105.45)

    2.

    7-Eleven
    110

Woolworths Caltex (First bracket column with 4c fuel voucher + 5% Gift Card / second one without 4c fuel voucher but with 5% Gift Card)
    115 (105.45) (109.25)
    116 (106.40) (110.20)
    117 (107.35) (111.15)
    119 (109.25) (113.05)
    120 (110.20) (114)
    130 (119.70) (123.50)

    So, can i say
    1. If you have 4c Fuel Voucher + 5%OFF Gift Card, even when Woolworths Caltex is up to 9 cents more expensive than 7-11, it would be still cheaper in Woolworths Caltex
    2. If you have 5%OFF Gift Card, when Woolworths Caltex is up to 5 cents more expensive than 7-11, it would be still cheaper in Woolworths Caltex

    • Yeah. 4c off and 5% is about 5c off.

There's also an additional 4c off for $5 in-store spend. Milk or mobile recharge vouchers are a good option.

    • +1

Thing that 7 eleven has over woolworths is that i can lock fuel in NSW at $1.351/L (98) at the moment, whereas the cheapest Woolworths (within 10km) to me is $1.475/L - $1.36325/L after 4c and 5%. So slightly more but would mean I need to travel 2km further than 7-eleven. YMMV of course.

Of course, if spending $5 instore for another 4c, and not buying over priced stuff you wouldn't, then I can see how Woolworths could be cheaper

      • I think it's more for when your local Woolworths is at the bottom of the cycle and close to the cheapest petrol Australia wide.

        • Yes. Your calculations are correct, however they only apply to people who live close to the Woolworths stations with the cheapest petrol.

        • Yes, of course. Hence the YMMV

  • U98 134.7 @ Eltham, VIC

Note: There's two Eltham stores, this is for the one further north.

  • NSW petrol appears rising from the lowest point of the petrol price cycle (since ~midnight). Hopefully the lowest 7-11 price stays solid for a while.

The cheapest 7-11 in the country doesn't vary as much as the overall petrol price cycle, but does follow it up & down a little.

    • Are you in Sydney? There are still a lot of 7-Elevens under 119 and this doesn't suggest a rise yet. Should I lock in 117.1?

      • You won't get much better than 117.1 at the moment for U91.

        • Our local Metro has U91 for $1:14.2 from around 9pm every night at the moment.

        • @whodidthat:

I notice a number of Metros drop their price at around 9pm every day without fail (from analysis of nsw fiel price data).

Are they still open at that time? Or are they gaming the system, with cheap prices on their advertising signs overnight but not open for business?

        • @factor: they do open with the low prices (though it has now gone up to 132.7) I've been there to fill up.

        • @whodidthat:

Thanks - great to know for next time I'm in a Metro area. The Metro overnight pricing really sticks out on a pricing chart:

This is the last month for all of NSW —
          https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vS76mW4eadnL…

Almost all of those nightly lows are Metro stations. Well cheaper than 7-11 if living in the right area.

I live in a high price fuel region, so 7-11 fuel-lock from elsewhere is always cheapest for me when at home.

        • @factor: Yes, being near a Metro can be handy. However, never use one of the really old stations as there have been problems with water in the fuel tanks.

We are usually one of the cheaper areas because there are 3 petrol stations on top of each other, one around the corner and another two within a 2 minute drive.

The next cheapest area is around Westfield at Tuggerah, so postcode areas 2322 and 2259.

BTW, I still haven't figured out how to do the hack on the app!

      • I have locked in. Average NSW prices are now increasing (for over 24 hours), so no more downward pressure for 7-11.

Other states aren't yet competitive. Maybe Victoria will offer some good discount prices in a bit over a week.

One reference of use when guessing the future:
        https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/petrol-diesel-lpg/petrol-p…

        • Just locked in U91 at $1.219, might just top up half and wait out a bit!
