have to +$30 for phone line rental, but it is still cheap.

    • +1

Is this a proper phone line rental like other telcos or is it the same as their $1 one?

      • What's the difference?

        • +1

Their $1 line rental is similar to VOIP, but the equipment is at the exchange rather than at your house. You can't send faxes (or connect to dial up), and they don't guarantee that you can call 000.

        • and you can't use a monitored alarm

      • same as the $1 line rental

    • exactly. misleading title.

    • Are tpg's phone call rates more expensive than telstra?

    • I still think my current TPG plan is better as this plan costs at least $59.99 + extra for all phone calls. My current plan is 200gb for $49.99 + $1 line rental + $10 call credit = $60.99 (includes $10 call credits). Speed slowed to 1 mbps, but I've not exceeded 200 gb yet!

  • Im locked into Telstra for a couple more months :(

  • Wish Adam can match these deals soon….

    • Almost impossible for Adam to match.

        • +13

          fastest my arse.

        • +3

I understand you're trying to promote a product, but please refrain from exaggerating…
I doubt TPG is any faster than Internode, iiNet, etc. where they value connection/service quality over monthly quota.

        • +2

real speeds are more like 8mbps and 1mbps upload =about 1megabyte down and 150kbps up!

those are my speeds with TPG :P

          • @neosin: I have 9.4Mbps down, 1Mbps up
            Speedtest.net shows I have 16Mbps… =\

        • +2

          Speedtest.net is BS.

          This is my apparant speed:

          http://www.speedtest.net/result/965522388.png

          …..

          Tried again:

          http://www.speedtest.net/result/965528305.png

          …….

          • +1

            @maybeamacy: Holy cow LOL

            • +1

@cwongtech: I agree speedtest is stupid because it auto chooses a close server and 80% of websites including ozbargain are hosted in the US.

        • +1

Unethical marketing by a TPG salesman…

          • @[Deactivated]: I wonder if he would be willing to justify what he has done to a group of disinterested colleagues.

    • +6

      Who's Adam?

      • adam internet?

        • just to make it a bit more clear, it's an ISP only available in SA.

    • I'm in the same boat just upgrade 50GB last week before internode T-Shirt come out :(

  • new customers only i'm guessing?

    • Yeah. Unless you want a long downtime.

      • where is your location?

        • +2

          Dandenong exchange.

If I could survive ~20 days without internet I would change to the bundle.

            • @kevinpentium: The issue is that you have to disconnect and reconnect to do it, 20 days is normal.

              • @samfisher5986: 20 days ….too long…

I am currently using soul homephone(by TPG) as well and TPG ADSL2…
but they not allow me to use this new plan. They told me to disconnect my homephone(TPG) and TPG ADSL and waiting for another 20+ days to reconnect.

            • @kevinpentium: Notice how kevinpentium's comments are rated very low? :P

              • @machej: Lol!!! I guess everyone smelt a rat…

  • so misleading!!!!

  • -2

the difference is now changed to UNLIMITED ADSL2+

  • -3

Seems their website not update yet for the new UNLIMITED ADSL2+ internet plan, let me know so I can signup for you.

    • Uh, are you a TPG rep?

      • -6

        yes I am :)

        • +17

Let me clarify, you are not an employee of TPG but you are a dealer which among other things you sell TPG products? In other words, you can't give official statements from TPG?

          • +1

@neil: This guy is an idiot! I'm reporting him to TPG for misleading conduct and identifying himself as a TPG representative. His constant posting of affiliate links means he's just here to score some signups.

            • +1

@lazed: At the moment he is just begging for money.

              • +1

@c64: Yeah it seems pretty pathetic. Constantly changing the offer etc.

  • upload and download both count starting from the new tpg plan

    • +3

well… good thing it's unlimited then.

  • I wish I could get this deal in Rowville/Lysterfield exchange :(

  • I am now on Telstra home phone plus TPG $49 ADSL2, I will have to cancel and disconnect the current phone and ADSL if I want to switch to this, right? That would be painful

    • Yes and deal with incompetent staff and also wait 20 days to be connected to TPG

  • +6

TPG was a nightmare to deal with…spent almost 20 hours over a month trying to get out of a contract due to slow service and sites not being able to be accessed…you get what you pay for so beware

      • +1

Even if other companies are the same doesn't make it right for TPG to be (who are iin fact worse then most other ips's for support)

    • +1

last time they throttle my internet speed by mistake(dl speed decrease after 2a.m.,), they told me my modem, filter or even my computer is faulty…their customer services is so SHXT….

  • @kevinpentium, I signed up two weeks ago on $59.99 500GB plan and has yet to have my service activated. Will I be able to switch to this new unlimited plan?

    • call TPG

  • I am using $50 adsl2+ 180G with telstra phone line. Can i upgrade to the new plan or i have to sign a new contract with tpg?

  • So for $29.99 you can either get 500GB of downloads, or unlimited. What benefit do you get from picking 500GB? Surely there must be a benefit of being on that, otherwise everyone would pick unlimited. Or perhaps, what are the drawbacks of having unlimited?

    • -2

Unlimited is their new plan, 500GB is the old plan

      • +2

unlimited is not a new plan.. they offered unlimited + homephone for $79.99 a few weeks ago

      • +3

omg… do you really know what you are selling?

        • sorry I mean for the price it is a new offer. (now $29.99 + $30 phone line rental)

    • none. assuming that unlimited is actually available @ your exchange in the first place.

    • It might be due to some exchanges not having enough capacity to handle unlimited, and some which do.

  • don't like seeing referrals here :(

      • +7

because this site should be about sharing deals, not profiting from them

      • +7

I actually don't mind you profiting from it.
However, I do mind HOW you're presenting this deal.
It's rather shady and tacky, lacking transparency, also filled with half-truths.

You're dealing with community with strong affinity to IT-related subjects here (a lot of us visit Whirlpool), so please don't treat us like village idiots.

  • +1

any news for current customers ?? I dont really want to pay 49$ a month for the internet connection and 32$ a month for line rental with telstra.. :( 80$ a month is a bit too much for me now…

  • i kevinpentium how can i check if the Unlimited is available at my exchange if the website is not updeated with the new plans yet?

  • Damn good deal…any deals with ADSL guys?? We feel left out…unfortunately for our exchange no hope yet in Boronia

Big neg for misleading title. Should add the conditions: "when bundled with $30 home phone line rental"

And no need to add "price going crazy". Such an exaggeration. Previously, similar plan available for $81, like mentioned by other OzBargainer above. So, this is not as crazy as you boasted it.

Will gladly removed the neg when the title changed to make it more accurate.

    • -1

      deleted. title changed :)

      • +1

You still can't get rid of your misleading behavior.
        Change the title to
TPG ADSL2+ Unlimited Plan 24x7 + Home phone Phone $59.99 per month!

  • +11

Next week it will be $1 unlimited internet*

TPG Unlimited plan Price reduced from $75 to $29.99+$30

      • +2

Only if you can get their home phone. Not everywhere.

        • Yup, I wanted to get this but too bad their home phone is not available in my area (even though their ADSL2+ is).

  • so if you cant tpg phone on your exchange then you cant get it?
checked my number ok for Unlimited but no phone which sucks.
dont know why not as i'm with ipriums at the moment.

  • If your ISP is not on the participating ISP list, transfer of your current ADSL/ADSL2+ service to TPG SOUL ADSL2+ can only be performed using the disconnection/reconnection process. Please call TPG SOUL customer service on 13 14 23.

I'm with telstra and they're not on the ISP list, how so?

    • if it is on their ISP list(i am using TPG adsl+, so must be ok), then will it faster the reconnect?

      • Yes, it means you don't have to disconnect/reconnect.

  • Can you let us know…WHICH EXCHANGES ARE AVAILABLE?

      • Affiliate link…. Again?
Mod, please do something about this before the lynch mob comes down upon him…

          • +2

            @kevinpentium:

            I can’t edit or delete my link…

Why can't you use this one?

            https://cyberstore.tpg.com.au/register/adsl.php?

          • +2

@kevinpentium: Exactly like portmac said, why can't you just use the original TPG link?

The one you posted is STILL your affiliate link…

[Removed] I am looking at your Facebook profile at the moment. You're a pretty educated man, so I doubt that you're THAT ignorant. I'd say you're trying to troll-profit as much as you possibly can from this thread.

Mod: Although it's publicly accessible information, some people would prefer to remain anonymous here. Let's just address him from part of his nickname, Kevin.
