You can get the Google Home (Au Stock) for $135…

  • -4

    Google Home $178.2

Is it any different to the $159 one here ?

    • +3

OW is Australian Stock, that Dick Smith listing for $159 + $9 delivery is direct import as per the banner.

      • Thanks for the Google Home Deal, got one !

      • -4

        OW is Australian Stock

Don't they come form the same factory?

        • The imported ones come with a US plug, so you need a travel adapter… or a Xiaomi (aka "OMG, it doesn't have a tick!") power board.

        • +12

jv you've been around long enough to know the difference between a grey import and local stock.

jv you've been around long enough to know the difference between a grey import and local stock.

Buying from an Australian store gives you more rights than importing it yourself… These are in-stock in Australia with dispatch in 1-2 days.
DSE give you 1 year warranty, but under consumer rights law, you would be covered for the full period of manufacturers warranty.

  • Can anybody see any chromecast 2 on special?

  • My wife has a kindle that's about 3 years old. Are new ones much better?

    • +1

      No

      • Thanks mate

    • Do you feel the need for an upgrade?

Genuine question, not jv question ;p

      • Thanks. think it's first gen paperwhite

    • If yours is not 300ppi and/or does not have the backlight it may be worth considering. Otherwise pretty much they are all the same experience.

      • Thanks mate

    • Yes u must try paperwhite to actually see the difference

      • Thanks. think it's first gen paperwhite

  • Can I set Google Home to other than English?

    • Yes, you can use Deutsch and French as well.

  • Does audible work with Google home? Hating my sonos speakers atm because I can't stream my books :|.

  • Preference between Chromecast Ultra and MiBox?

    • +1

I have both, Mibox comes with built-in Google cast, plus you can install other apps such as kodi, netflix, Plex etc. Only advantage of Chromecast is it works with Google home. Mibox google cast is not yet integrated with google home.

      • +2

upgrade the chrome cast firmware— then it works with GH :)

        • Thanks, just did a system update and works with Google Home now. No need for Chromecast anymore as Mi box can do everything Chromecast does and more.

  • We can't apply this code until you reach the minimum order total

    • What are you trying to purchase? Order minimum is $75 so everything in the post is valid.

      • Toshiba 3TB & chromecast

      • +1

Tried using this code to purchase the Toshiba 3TD hard drive from officeworks and I get an error saying 'This code can't be applied to some of your items". HMmmm any ideas?

        • +2

Argh, Officeworks put that listing in 'other' instead of 'computing' and the code excludes 'other' category!

I've sent them a message now asking them to fix it.

@roland might be a good idea to grab the Chromecast then come back for the HDD as long as you don't want to buy anything else (max 2 transactions)

        • @hamza23: thanks mate!

        • +1

          @chitchat123:

They have fixed the category now, should be good to purchase:

Thank you for your patience, I have had the checked further and the category has been updated for the hard drive.

        • @hamza23: Thanks received the same msg from them as well!

  • +1

Toll Courier ? LOL no thanks.

    • +1

You can pick it up if you prefer.

  • Is it me or the redemption code to buy the Toshiba 3TB hard drive does not work?

    http://i.imgur.com/4QgpWjM.png

    • Can confirm the code works for other items but not the Toshiba 3TB Canvio Ready Portable Harddrive…

  • Just got the last Chromecast Ultra.

  • iPads ?

  • Folks, Help needed. Will I get a consolidated single invoice If I purchase multiple Items in one eBay order from the same seller? This is to claim the GST amount through TRS while travelling.

    • +1

If they're from the same seller you can combine multiple invoices - as long as the total is at least 300 AUD.

      • Thanks mate. Just confirmed the same from TRS website.

        https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Ente/Tour/Are-you-a-traveller

your purchases are from a single business with the same Australian business number (ABN) and total AUD 300 (GST inclusive) or more. For example, if you bought items from one business, even on separate invoices, that together total AUD 300, these items could be eligible for a tax refund under the TRS
