Edit: Looks like they are all gone, I have already messaged the rep to see if I can get some more.

Here is another Redmi Note 4X deal, similar to my deal the other night https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/339191. This time it is the 3GB/32GB version as requested in that post, and the Gearbest rep has come to the party again for us with a code. It is not quite as cheap as this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/321588, but still a very good price compared to others, ie $185 AUD @ Shopmonk currently. These will go fast, don't forget Cashrewards!

Note: Still No B28!
Note 2: Has a notification LED!
Note 3: Includes Registered Airmail / Recommend Priority Line Shipping for $2.54 more

Limited to 50 units only / 1x time per account / AU, NZ Only!

Outstanding phone for the price had mine 4 months still get three days off the battery.

    • +10

I know, it is very much a mid range phone at a budget price. When you compare it against everything at that price point nothing else comes close.

      • I don't see a reason to buy anything else at the moment.

        • If it wasn't for the B28 issue, which matters to me only because of where we go and doesn't matter to others I know, I'd get one to replace the wife's old S5.

        • @sillycattle: yeah B28 maybe An issue, the Mrs has this and half the time in our home or doesn't have coverage

        • @sillycattle:
Pardon my ignorance but what's the B28 issue?

        • @LivinginEastwood:

This phone doesn't have B28 which is used by some carriers here in Australia

    • I only get a day max with 7-8h screen on time, what are you doing with your phone?? Lmao

  • Can get similar price off eBay with 5% off code and with local stock

    • +2

Do you have a link? All the ones I can see are over $200 before discount.

EDIT - WOOPS! Just realised it's a note 4x - upvote coming your way ;)

  • +6

I have this as my daily driver, highly recommended, It can do all what a $1K phone does except there's no NFC.

    • +1

Xiaomi are killing me with the NFC. I never check it because it seems like such a standard part. Was shocked when my mi Max didn't have it, then flabbergasted when the mi Max 2 didn't either.

    • -1

      $1k? iphones today are $1829 + accessories for fast/wireless charging - 9x Note 4x!?
Thanks to Ozbargain & Android, smartphones (for smart people) are better value.

    • Only exception is the camera, my Note 3 is the best phone I've ever had yet by far the cheapest with the only downfall being the poor camera (aside lack of NFC). Even though the Note 4's camera should be a little better, it's still one thing you miss out on compared to the mainstream premium phones.

  • +4

It's really a fantastic phone. Highly recommended.

  • +1

    Official LineageOS right?

    • Yep, under the hood it's a 'mido', the same as the Snapdragon variant of the Note 4.

  • +1

Is no B28 ok for Amaysim and should I buy a screen protector at the same time and is so which one please?

    • +1

The phone is very slippery (top class finish). For real protection get a full cover case.

    • +2

Also make sure that you get a tempered glass screen protector, as the screen is not gorilla glass.

      • +1

        not gorilla glass

This doesn't mean much, they aren't the only company making hardened glass.

your phone will still work with no B28, just not as great.

Jominix love mine too had all the fancy Samsung and Sony phones, the snapdragon 625 is a great chip.Very quick chip and power efficient,I was so impressed I bought a mipad2 and got rid of my mini 4 no regrets, very impressed with xiaomi.

  • Looking at getting the A1 just for the pure android UI. How does it compare to this 4x?

  • When connected to wifi for first time will update to Android 7 & MIUI 8.5? automatically.

    • yes. 2 OS updates. Bought one for my wife from shopmonk last week. Still have my Note 4G. Has IR also, so can be used as remote for TV/DVD. Not found the settings in the app for my WD live. Dont want a seperate app.

It will advise you there are updates available to download. ok-reboot when downloaded

really good deal, invested in usb c cables though :p

  • Got one :D

To replace my Note 3 Pro

  • +1

i bought this phone off gearbest 3/10 for $190 or whatever, i literally only got the phone delivered on the 2/11, the tracking didnt work and the screen protector that i ordered with it came shattered.

(profanity) gearbest, i'm never gonna deal with this dodgy company again. be warned.

    • +2

u did fine, my laptop came in broken and they refuse to give me a proper refund getting store credit instead. not to mention the $55 bucks i had to pay for shipping to send it back! (banggood much better at this by actually paying for your return shipping!)

      • +1

yerp ive had no problems with banggood.

my phone was sitting in 'packing' or whatever from the 3rd of oct to the 18th before it shipped. No idea what gearbest were doing with it. Their whole tracking thing is suspicious too, because it didnt work the whole time until the last few days

    • +1

What shipping method did you have?

      • -1

        the standard one

    • +1

Did you pay for priority shipping? 'Australia' express? Or standard shipping?

  • grabbed one for my daughter, sadly for her it's not the iphone she's been bugging me for though lol

    • hmmm, she may never forgive you.

    • She is going to punish you for it in the future.

      • By dating questionable guys?

  • How's the camera and video recording capabilities on this?

I'm coming from a Sony Xperia Z1…20MP back camera, 1080p@30fps… Can this do better?

    • +1

its not going to come close in terms of quality. Its not bad though.Overall awesome phone for the price.

    • +1

Average daylight photos. Useless low light.

  • +3

    I wish it had NFC

  • Coupon not working? Shows up as AU$209.24
Every time I enter the code it sends me to sign in?

    • Expired will try to get some more.

  • Expired.
Had it in my cart, when back to double check details but it's gone.
    Bugger.
Any option to have some more codes rep?
FYI, if nobody secures this, AliExpress deal coming up next Sat, phone will be approx. AUD185 at shops there.

    • +1

Looks like it has expired, I will see if I can get some more stock.

  • Great phone very happy with it. Only issue for me is no NFC.

  • I still have it in my cart…amazing.
Question before i actually purchase this.
I have never bought anything off Gearbest barring Xiaomi headphones that i am still waiting for delivery (about a month ago).
Appears that a lot of people on here have mixed reviews of it.
Should i just wait a week and get it off AliExpress? It will be about $4 more…

    • +1

You can pay $2.54 more for priority line shipping which should be much faster.

    • with Aliexpress you can get 7% cashback so it will be similar price especially if you get your hands on some discounts codes aliexpress giving away.

  • Damn, missed out, need a new phone. I'm using a Note 3 Pro at the moment, paid $273 for it last April, there is something wrong with the audio now and I can't hear anything. It thinks there is a headphone connected.
