Forgot to list 20% off CDs, DVDs & Games excluding gaming consoles and accessories ;)

    • Cheers mate, i rushed it to be the first to post it and i overlooked it :)

    • Does that include the humongous range of $10 bargain bin CD's?

      • I would assume so. At the last 20% off sale, they had 'Buy 2 Get 1 Free" signs posted as well, so I paid $16 for 2 CDs and got one free.

        • Man am I vexed…

          Bought 4 CD's yesterday.

  • Also, 15% off computers EXCLUDES Mac and Sony Vaio. :-)

  • would dj hero 2 be considered a gaming accessory this? :(

    • No. Last time I asked they said if it comes with a game then it is considered a game for the sale and you get 20% off. :) I got dj hero for $20 last time.

  • Based on previous sales like this Blu-rays should be included in the 20% off as well, is anyone able to confirm?

    • according to the sales, blu-ray is dvd….

  • +5

thanks now I can grab gt5 for $68

    • Me too! Woot!

    • +1

how? they raise the price to $85 from $77

they kinda doing this a lot nowadays….

      • +3

        Maths - 20% off $85 is $68.

      • +4

They've always had these 'introductory' prices for new games. They'll sell them cheaper than competitors when a new game is released and then after a month or so the prices go up.

    • I believe I saw it for 78.00 at JB Maribyrnong (victoria) today, so that should be down to 62.40 (correct me if i'm wrong, furthermore if you see it cheaper at other JB's let us know, so we may spend less). Also, don't forget the $50.00 GT5 JB docket posted here last week(?), may be give that a go, and report back.

  • +1

I'm after an Ipod Touch - anyone know if these would these be excluded under the "Mac" policy on computers?

    • +1

excluded, not because its a mac but because its not a computer and therefore not on sale.

  • +1

You should be able to get the discounted price in advance. I knew about this so got a 50" plasma with the 15% off yesterday. Prior to mentioning the F&F deal they would not go below $1770, but with F&F they said no worries straight away for $1526. Meant I could get it then and there without fighting with everyone else on Wednesday.

  • +2

I've noticed JB generally make their prices for new release Blu-rays the same as their competitors. Hopefully Inception will be $25 like Target, and then 20% off that is $20! 4 disc, new release, blockbuster Blu-ray for $20, with digital copy? Niiiiiiice.

    • +1

thats when they dont have discounts. They will most likely inflate the price a night before and with 20% discount it'll be similar to competitor prices on the Dec 8th.

      • +1

That would be illegal. If you honestly think thats what they do, lodge a complaint. Good Guys got done for it recently so it is taken VERY seriously.

      • seems thats what they do they had the kinect bundle with adventures for $194 which is way dearer than anyone else.

    • I would hope blu ray gets 20% as their DVD counterparts

    • -2

they aren't what they use to be… you could almost quote this as truth.

    • -1

Haha shows how fail you people are, you neg my comment but scroll down and read all the posts and they all talking about how they inflate their prices.

      Idiots.

  • JB HI-FI is defiantly not a place you should really ever need to pay sticker price.

On most items, there is 10%-20% of wiggle room for haggling. In some departments they even have a "discount level" price-list to allow certain staff to go as low as certain prices.

    • +2

can I please have this $10 bargain bin CD cheaper thanks? :)

  • any deals for logitech products ?

  • +2

Donkey Kong Country Returns on WII would be a good pick up for $51.20

    • +1

Exactly what I was thinking, although knowing them they'll bump up the price on the night.

    • So did it get down to this price tonight?

  • Is this a discount off the RRP or off the haggle price?

    • RRP, but if you are a true ozbargainer, you would still haggle ;)

  • +1

Perfect timing. I have a gift card from last Xmas for $30 gotta be spent by the 10th or it expires!

Hopefully they do a good deal on the inception bluray!

  • Guys, is it possible to haggle even after the 30% off car sound, or is that pushing it?

    • +2

Unless it is a high ticket item, it is pushing it.

      • PUSH DAMMIT

  • stupid question but, Even though this says exclusive offer for friends of JB does it apply to everyone?

    • yeah everyone. they even give you a flyer detailing the deals when you walk through the door.

  • Does the 20% CD & DVDs exclude Blu Ray?

    • +1

      it includes bluray.

      • Awesome, can grab Inception for around $28 with the lenticular cover and comic book. :D

        • yep possibly even cheaper if they match Targets price $25 (usually they beat any other advertised price for the first few days).

  • +2

just make sure that you do a price check at JB and other places on the items that you want before Wednesday night so you will then know that it is a real discount.

  • -1

i know it may sound a bit greedy, will they price match Game's price of StarCraft 2 ($58?) and then apply 20% off again?

    • +3

Um they're not going to do that.

    • Doubt you'll be able to get price match. Game is sold out.

  • i tried to see if i could use the 20% in advance, but they wouldn't until the night so yeah..

    • i got to use it in advance maybe you just got a bad sale person

  • Damn..I got a laptop yesterday for almost ticket price. Any way I can get my money back on that?
I have unpacked it so I guess returning it and buying it again is out of question.

    • +2

put it back and say you don't want it
then go back to another shop and buy it with the discount hehe

      • or just ell them that you bought it yesterday and you were hoping they could take the discount off. I've done it with other stores and they did it (BigW and HN)

        • Yeah, I'd at least try this. I've taken something back if they've had a big sale the next day and they've refunded the difference for me.

  • Wonder if they will be including the 2 for $30 blurays

    • they usually do

      • +2

they destickered alot of the top titles at 2 stores last time

  • I was going to go buy some Blu-rays today from JB, but then I decided no I will get them later in the week then I get home and see this sale on OzBargain made me so glad I didn't go to JB today. :)

  • +1

Does this apply to pre-orders too?
I've got WoW Cataclysm Collector's Edition pre-ordered at JB and was goign to pick it up on Wednesday anyway, so if I can get 20% off it'd just be great!

    • Yeah, I'll pick up Cataclysm on the Wed night too I think.

      • cataclysm will be 37.98 for wednesday night and also on launch day.

        • That's for "standard" Cataclysm, so you know how much for Collector's Edition?

        • I bought 2x Cataclysms for about $30 each

      • Should check whether the shop has any copies of it before hand. I wanted to get Starcraft 2 at the 20% sale a few weeks back but they had sold out. Then again, I don't know how popular WoW is and how many copies ordered for the launch.

    • Sweet. That's $37.98 - ~$7.50 for Cataclysm!

Good thing I missed the 5% off DSE deal (couldn't find where to enter their coupon code - lol).

  • Anyone know what the JB staff discount is ?, I was thinking of asking someone I know who works there, but with this sale, it may not be worth bothering him.

    • +2

Staff discount is the cost price of the item

      • That's so awesome

      • I thought it was cost plus $5

        • It's floor cost plus GST

      • +2

I believe that it's the "cost price" JB tell their employees. But it wouldn't actually be cost price ;)

        • +1

Yep… their cost price includes a margin for all the normal overheads, plus paying for the cleaner, the candlestick maker and anything else they can think of… I tried bargaining for my TV and they woudl not go below $1770.. showed me the little palm thingy that said that was only $20 above cost price… yet two days later (Sunday) I got the TV for $1526 when quoting the F&F deal. So obviously there is a fair margin included in the "cost" price.

Would the wheel + gt5 game deal on that page be $199.2?

    • Don't think so mate - "excludes gaming consoles and accessories"

      • Damn. Looked to be a good deal.
        I'll just get the game.

        • thats what I am gonna do and see if I can grab a cheapish wheel and pedals.

  • typical, brought some DVDs from JB's on the weekend!

    • Same here. But it was only 2 blu-ray for $20 as I was going to get some from Big W but couldn't find any advertised 2 for $18 (same titles). As all the blu-ray were shoved in one stand unpriced at the Big W store I went to.

    • Ditto that.

      Bought 4 CD's just today.

      Motherf…

  • Does computers include accessories? I need a new gaming mouse and external harddrive.

    • Jb Hi-Fi dont seem to have to many choices! Online they have 10 mice TOTAL

  • I'm guessing that if a laptop is already significantly marked down, it won't be reduced by a further 15% will it?

    • +1

I'd say it would be, as from previous sales it's off the ticketed price… Not to say they won't increase the ticketed price.

  • wondering what would be the price for sony 40HX800 and 46HX800.

    anyone get a good deal?

  • 15% off TVs…
    http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/plasma-lcd-tvs/plasma-tv/pana…
    So that's $2,891 less 15% = $2457 for a 65" plasma. Thoughts?

      • +14

give it another 10 years and they will be under $100.

        Your point ?

  • Think they'll match Target's Inception bluray deal?

    • That deal doesn't start until the 9th

      • Some shops are already selling it now.

  • Do you think the "bluray" discount would apply to the PS3 BD remote pack? :-)

    • +1

20% off CDs, DVDs & Games ( excluding gaming consoles and accessories )

If its got the word Xbox360. PS3 or Wii somewhere in the product title then its NOT included

      • Oops, I'm referring to the pack which has the 2 bluray movies and the remote. So I guess it depends on whether it's blurays bundled with a remote, or a remote bundled with blurays :-)

        • its most likely no but you can always haggle the price down the nest day, unlikely you'l find someone to help on the night! with all the crazy bargain shoppers crowding the store.

  • I've decided as an interim measure to buy a HTIB system to do me for the next couple of years (until we move into a more suitable abode).

I only need to plug in a HTPC, Wii and Sony Bravia TV. I would like to connect just one HDMI cable into the TV, so I think that means Wii would need to be upscaled? 5.1 is more than sufficient.

So, anybody know of a kit around $500 that's worth spending money on?

  • what do u guys reckon about the dslr deals. i.e. the canon 550d. reckon i should get it tonite or post christmas sales?

    • post christmas.

    • +3

      tonight.

    • No one knows much about the family & friends sale. The Manager thought it was only 10% off. The sales guy said they'll discount 15% and nothing more. He believes that's below cost. They will also discount the lenses they have in stock.
