  • Merged from [NSW] Ryobi 18v 20cm pole pruner. Clearance stock $120 @ Bunnings Villawood
    Go to Deal

NOTE: CLEARANCE stock at Villawood Bunnings, 2166 NSW. Sorry if this deal is not for everyone.

About 30 days ago I bought this for $229. 7 days later I noticed Bunnings reduced to $170. I bought another one and returned the first one. Just then I visited Villawood Bunnings I saw they put it on clearance for just $120. Unfortunately I can't return my one this time as it has been more than 20 days ago. Not sure if any other Bunnings do the same. There were about 3-4 left.

    • $170 is the older model, requires oil.

      • +2

This isn't a negative - the older model is basically a full chainsaw on a pole. You can easily cut down full trees with it, it's a great unit.
I wouldn't consider the oil-free version, because the worn out chains are going to cost you a lot more than the bar oil…

  • Merged from [WA] Optus X Pro 2 $29 @ Woolworths, Booragoon
    Go to Deal

Bought one in booragoon. I think there was a couple left.
Is locked to optus. Does anyone know how to unlock it for cheap?

    • -1

if it comes in an optus-branded box, it will locked to them. you might be able to unlock for free if you have an existing optus account. i got 3 optus-locked realme c21s unlocked for free last year

      • Ok great to know. I do have account with them. Do you need to give a reason?

        • -1

i wasn't even asked a reason. you could tell them you're going overseas.

i got it unlocked by chat.

      • I just had a look. The c21 looks more powerful than this and came with a months call credit. At $29 it was the phone bargain of the century.

        • -1

this one also comes with a $30 sim?

          • @tdw: Yes and NFC and 5000ah battery.
            Expandable memory.
            😃

        • +1

Hard to tell from the specs. The C21 has more RAM but ZTE or Optus don't disclose the processor. "The identity of the processor has been withheld to protect our profits."

          • +1

            @Stingo:

"The identity of the processor has been withheld to protect our profits."

lol must be rubbish or they'd bang on about it in the product description

    • -1

      product page: https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/214026/opt…
      has nfc!

stock checker doesn't seem to work.

      • stock checker doesnt work cos i think its on clearance similar to this deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/751922?page=1#comment
So you will have to call or visit the store.
For this reason, mods has moved my deal to insufficient quantity.
If someone sees it at another store - please TWAM. I believe there should be stock at other stores…

    • Just bear in mind that the Optus X (pronounced ecch) range is nobbled to remove bands the others use.

      • So are saying a Telstra Sim may not work?

      • Here's the link, which bands are missing?

        3G Band - 900/2100MHz
        4G Band - B1/B3/B7/B8/B28/B40

        • +2

          3G - 850Mhz (used by Telstra 3G)
          4G - B5 (850Mhz used by Vodafone 4G)

Telstra 3G is due to shutdown in June 2024 so that problem will go away. Otherwise it supports all the 4G frequencies Telstra are known to use which is more than the LTE only modules in Telstra "Smart Modems" (the previous Frontier Gateway had wider band support). So not a problem for Telstra usage at least once Telstra has added B28 or even B8 to all towers lacking them. B5 is Vodafone's historical low frequency. i.e. coverage band. They only acquired B28 via the TPG merger which would have somewhat better propagation being a lower frequency but I have no idea to what extent that supplements B5 at this point or their future plans.

Just for comparison sake the C21 that was mentioned earlier did support the frequencies and also included some additional band TDD bands we don't use here despite carrying the standard Optus disclaimer:

Handset has been modified to be optimised for the Optus network and performance on other networks is not guaranteed.

For overseas use you want a phone with even wider frequency support but this is less than common on low end phones.

save the remaining half for next time. LOL

    Merged from [QLD] Ryobi 18V ONE+ 2 x 4.0Ah 23L Fridge Freezer Kit $299.01 (Was $799) @ Bunnings, Southport
    Go to Deal

Just saw my local Bunnings is offering this kit at almost a third of the original price. Website shows $599 still so try your own luck in store. Some will price match and some won't so good luck.

Currently about 5 left at Southport in stock as of 2:30pm.

    • +1

seen this a few times on my bunnings adventures and thought to myself how overpriced it is at $799 $299 isnt bad at all though with the batterys

    • At $299, it's worth it just for the batteries. Here's the stock link. Heaps of stock around.

      And here's the perfect usage.

    • How long would this thing last as a fridge? With 2 full batteries?

      • It's on the main page
This Kit also includes 2 x 18V ONE+ 4.0Ah Batteries and an 18V 2A Charger. These Batteries can power tools across the RYOBI ONE+ DIY garden, craft, camping and cleaning ranges. These batteries can provide up to 12 hours of runtime (with a 0°C temperature setting and 20°C ambient temperature). Other current battery sizes (2.0Ah-9.0Ah) are also compatible with this model.*

18V 4.0Ah battery runtime can vary depending on the mode and temperature setting selected.

        • I find that a bit hard to believe…

          • @hippyhippy: The compressor is rated at 60W. If we assume a conservative 25% duty cycle (e.g. overnight), that should give 9.6 hours of runtime with 144Wh from the two batteries. Someone would have to wake up in the middle of the night to swap batteries though!

    • +4

Anyone can upload a price image or receipt?

    • +3

I don't see anywhere selling these for $299….$599 everywhere from what I can tell? Photo proof?

      • Even the store mentioned shows $599 in Powerpass… so it might be one of those deals you can only see in-store. They're rare but they happen. Usually a single store reducing stock for whatever reason.

        • Ryobi Powered devices is never discounted on Powerpass, as they are not a trade product (like Ozito)

          • @BewareOfThe Dog: The pruning saw that was posted the other week showed as $128 Retail $299 on PP
