These are actually quite good. I have my Google Mini mounted behind the TV with this and paired with the home theatre system. Also ordered another the other day for the bedroom Google Mini.

    • mind if I ask how you paired them with your home theater system? might also help telling me what system it is please :)
I'd love to do the same.

      • +2

You can pair any speaker that is Bluetooth except HomePod through the Google Home app.

        • well today I learned, thanks!

@asskikrneo: preferably use a chromecast audio via mini optical cable to take advantage of your onboard DAC and more stable connection via wifi.

@911r: ChromeCast Audio is great. My only complaint is that it usually takes half a minute or so for Spotify to connect.

@trippy: that's odd, No issues with Google Play music. Have you tried unlinking your account and relinking?

  • Thanks OP

  • Cheers OP :)

  • Thanks OP, was looking at these on eBay a while back

  • A piece of blutack and a cable tie will do the job.

This is really useful for bathrooms lol. Can shout commands in the shower

        No camera in these though.
Honestly, I’d rather have these in the bathroom than the bedroom…
        ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I use my bedroom mini to control the lamps and LED strips around the bed frame…

yell down at your powerpoint mount…..

  • faaarrrkkkkk.. didn't know this existed and so want one now!!! no stock availability alert available :(

Sold out now, but thingiverse have similar types (without magnet) if you have access to a 3d printer? I think the AU power adapter size may be same as UK, I measured mine (and the adapter), and its different to the US.

    https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2803770

Ebay has same objective, but different designs which are suited more to the GHM hanging down below the point (which I couldnt have due to benchtop being in the way). They are about $5 delivered

    • Thanks for this, will come in handy.

So simple! Didn't know this existed and now I can't even buy one! 😭😭😭😭

  • Very cool. Will keep an eye out for more stock.

  • For those that have ordered, please update this thread once you receive your item. I bought something very similar off Amazon US a few months back and it does not fit the Australia power adapter.

The design for this enclosure appears to be the same where the pictured US adapter fits inside of a very snug cutout. The Australian plug is much larger in diameter so if this product was designed for a US adapter, I’m afraid you guys may have issues. See my photo below:

There are some images of Australian power points in the review section.

  • Cool design but I can definitely see this taking up both points on a double GPO.

  • I prefer the Google Home Mini battery power dock like this:

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/253774963162

    • How is that an alternative to this?

  • I've got one mounted in the bathroom just using a metal washer attached to the Mini using double-sided tape, and a magnet stuck to the tiles near the (USB enabled) powerpoint using removable double-sided tape.

Pro-tip: that orange pad on the bottom of the Mini is very hard to stick to, so you really need to peel it off first…

  • Received mine just now,

it is designed for the US plug so it's a very tight fit over the power plug

      damn, wish I got one!

  • Doesn't fit….that or I can't understand instructions
