  • $20 store credit, valid 30/01/2019 - 06/02/2019. Ordered at 12:15pm last night. No Kingdom Hearts 3 for me :(

Shame. Wishing I woke up earlier this morning to price match at JB when it was still available for delivery on TGGs website.

    Oh well.

Posted bad feedback, and opened a Paypal Case… i suggest everybody to do it.

    • how to opened a Paypal Case?

    • Out of curiosity, what is the basis of the the PayPal case?

    • Why open a PayPal case?

      • -2

"Item not received" case. They have already said they won't send it, so it is a basis for a case. If we flood their Paypal with cases, it would sometimes lock up their paypal accounts until they are resolved.

        • +1

Is that a good thing? Won't it just mean delayed refunds?

          • +1

@FireRunner: Good thing since it interrupts their business and it means they need to process your refund first. LOL!

Make sure you write a review for the product on Ebay and mention TGG not delivering products.

  • +5

For those getting cancellations, don't forget to leave negative feedback.

    • Their feedback score has already dropped to 96.5%. Pretty sure it was previously 97.5%.

  • Are people getting eBay cancellations?

    • Yes. Purchased through ebay and got an email from TGG saying it's cancelled..

      • but not from ebay yet

        • No not yet :/

    • +1

      Yeah, will leave neg feedback.

  • +3

Just got the same email (ebay purchase). Pricing error. Blah blah. Negative feedback.

    eBay neg feedback
    PayPal dispute
    ACCC misleading complaint
    GO, GO, GO!
You won’t get away with this TGG
Good news travels fast but bad news travels faster!

  • Yep just got cancel email and 20 dollar store credit.

  • Yep I just received that email as well. What a bummer! :(
It’s very unfair considering some people have received their console for that price through C&C.

      • Haha lucky you!

  • +4

And the negative feedback rolls in for TGG on eBay haha

    • 19 negs from Xbox purchases so far

  • +1

Just got the email too. Time for the negative feedback ).

  • Last time I buy a product from TGG's, which now also includes JB HiFi, as it's the same company. Not that they will stress losing a few customers caught up in this dodgy deal.

They ran out of stock last night, I picked mine up when they had restocked (probably automatically).

I'll contact the ACCC and see what they have to say.

    Seeya TGG and JB!

  • So glad I trusted my gut and went and got one price-matched @ JB, To say they urgently fixed it is B.S. They re-stocked on eBay and left the pricing on their main website for so long. Oh well perhaps we can all enjoy the $20 voucher.

  • +4

We could all pool our $20 vouchers together, buy a stack of Xbox One X consoles and then have a lottery to see who gets them, at least some of us would be lucky!

    • +1

(profanity) it, count me in, wasn't gonna buy anything else from them anyway.

  • +5

Just got the Good Guys rejection email. Everything in that letter refers to “our website”.

I ordered from eBay, not The Good Guys website. As far as I’m concerned that entire letter is invalid.

Surely there’s some sort of eBay clause we can find for cancelled orders.

    • +5

Completely agree. The terms and conditions on their website are meaningless, they have to abide by eBay's terms and conditions.

They have time to send out this email but not to refund me? Sounds like they just got $175,000 available to them for nothing for a few days.

  • My eBay order is still processing. What are they going to do? Cancel it?

    What’s everyone else’s like?

    • Ebay doesn't say shipped but I got two email confirmations that it was sent this morning. No cancellation email yet.

    • +2

      Cancel it?

Yes, and take their time with the refund.

While we cannot use the pixies code anymore

  • Boooooooooooooooooooooooooo! :/

  • +3

An interesting sentence I found on my eBay order from TGG with the heading The price you pay is final….

“The prices on The Good Guys ebay store are set and we are unable to amend the prices.”

  • +3

Surely someone another retailed will see this… Amazon, will do a similar deal to the black Friday and really stick it to TGG.

    • +2

      Unlikely

      • Amazon could put the foot to the throat of eBay right now if they wanted to

  • Ordered mine from eBay with delivery, and received the shipping notification this morning. Order was 21:23 from the first batch last night. Anyone from the first batch got the cancellation email yet?

    • +2

No cancellation email here either. Ordered same time as you. I think the first batch sold out about 5 minutes later. I reckon they fulfilled the first ebay batch and that's it. Edit: Apparently some first batch orders have been cancelled too.

    • +1

I ordered at 21:16. Never received a shipping notification and did receive the cancellation email.

    • +1

Mine was from the first batch and it was canceled

    • +4

I ordered right after I posted and haven't received a cancellation email either, sucks to hear about cancellations however, I genuinely didn't think it was an error.

Can't see mine being fulfilled however, the cancellation is probably just taking it's time to come.

      • you didn't choose C&C? when I order this is no C&C any more

        • Nah I ordered for delivery, got an email saying it was being processed by a local store but nothing since then, I wouldn't have posted if I knew they would cancel everything, apologies.

          • @doweyy: Thanks for your post at least everyone got $20 voucher

          • @doweyy: Thanks for sharing and giving us the opportunity to buy it. The least they could do is honor your purchase!!

    • +1

Order was 21:23 from the first batch last night.

21:14 and got the cancel email from TGG. Nothing from eBay yet

    • +1

Received A cancellation email just then, was in the first batch around 12 sold when I brought mine

  • I saw even the one s order got cancelled. $224 for one s even higher price than Amazon deal

  • +6

Bright side. Contacted Ebay Web Chat, and discussed my complaint, then told them to transfer me to Ebay Buying Team, and they generated me a new coupon for $37.90… No Min Spend….. and 1 month expiry.

So coming out of this with $57.90 of free money, i guess that is a good consolation prize.

    • I am going to try that now. Will update.

      • -1

eBay cops a lot of flak (and often justifiably so) but they do have good customer service for most matters.

        • Once GG have issued a refund, they will generate a code for $37.90 for me as well

          • @nubzy: I was only offered another 10% off code.

            • @chichi: Same here

            • @chichi: Actually reading again, that may be what I was offered too. Hmm, will see what happens after GG's have issued refund.

            • @chichi:

Please also note that the PIXIES code can only be used once and we can no longer reactivate that redeemed code.

              I received this

          • @nubzy: Also received this offer

            • @festivalmayhem: who did you guys deal with mine didn't give me anything

              • @RichardF89: eBay offered nothing. basically too bad that the seller cancelled.

              • @RichardF89: I can't remember their name sorry. The problem is that they are probably receiving a lot of requests for this now.

  • +13

amazed at how dumb TGG are, could have made this into great publicity instead screwed themselves, the loss would have been no more then $50,000 assuming their buy price is $479 (im sure its way below that) they lose $100 per unit selling it at $379 times that by 500 sold

if only tgg followed in appliance online footsteps

    • +1

      That's a fantastic story!
Will definitely purchase through AO next time

      • That's why I bought a washing machine and a fridge from AO.

    • +2

Well, I know that I'm never purchasing from The Good Guys or JB again. I wonder how many others feel the same. Seems like they're developing a bit of a history by not honouring orders.

    • +4

I've never liked the Good Guys. Always had crap service from them and their prices are never anything special. They can't keep pulling these price error stunts, it happens to often and they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. $379 is NOT an unbelievable prices, it's very good yes, but could be a genuine sale price given what we have seen from Amazon and that $499 4 game bundle at JB.

  • +1

So that's $350 down the drain in gift cards… contacted TGG support and who knows how long that'll take. Going to contact ACCC to see if they have any advice, considering how long they dicked us around

  • I just noticed the negative feedback on gg ebay is getting deleted

    • Is it really? There seems to be a lot on there from the past hour or so?

      • Probably deleting older ones to keep the count down

    • +1

Not getting deleted unless it has profanity in it. Mine is still there and it is pretty much the first one.
Its probably moved to the 2nd page.

      • +1

I have watched the negative count sit on 995 and new feedback posted. Mine was the first up and was promptly deleted. I was civil and to the point

        • +1

Mine was TGG pulled out of a deal.. will never buy another product from them.

          And it's still there.

    • Yep, they were 95.6% and after +30 negs it is 96.4%

  • +2

So what do we do here, do we wait to report them to eBay after a few days or cancel the item?

    • +1

If you ordered it to be delivered, and you received an e-mail saying a (physical) store is processing your order, then you might want to wait. Stores tend to send out items for delivery late in the afternoon / evening. Online orders are a bit tricky, stores generally cannot do much about those orders (if they received the okay to fulfill, they will do that. They cannot cancel them from their end - only the online store can).

However, I would take screenshots of your pending order as TGG, being a Power Seller, does have the ability to cancel an order without buyer's consent. The order can simply disappear from your purchase history if a full refund was provided.

If you prefer to get the $20 + $37.90 vouchers, then contact TGG to find out what's going on and speed up the cancellation process so you can then get the first voucher and then ask feeBay CSR for the second one.

If you have received any info, chances are your order will be cancelled so you might want to speed up the cancellation process by contacting TGG online order support.

  • Wooo!!! Look at all the upvotes, this must be an awesome deal!

    • It should have been an awesome deal.

  • +2

    Oh this is some bullshit.

Who do I complain to? Thank (profanity) I hadn't yet got around to selling my OG model, I already had a couple of offers too.

  • Received cancellation from TGG at 6:40pm.
    Ordered from eBay at 11:08am.

EBay gift cards are not yet refunded.

    • Mine was at 11:08 am too. No comms yet!!

    • There's gonna be a lot of people hating on you for buying up so many, but I gotta give you props for your effort, my man.

      • -7

Thanks mate, just to add, I noticed and my mates also brought this up as well, that the stores had plenty of stock, they would go up on platform ladders and the stock rooms and they had quite a bit of stock!

    • Didn’t think EB Games traded for cash anymore? Thought it was only in store credit

      • They trade for cash, at a 20% lesser rate.

  • Painful waiting for my execution email. Hope they don't wait until tomorrow.

  • +7

    interesting, from an eBay chat

    20:16 PM
No worries. Just let the seller know that you are not willing to cancel. Just in case the seller will push through the cancellation, please let us know so that we can report this seller to our Trust and Safety team.

Edit, sent an eBay message to the TGG saying I do NOT accept it and I want to proceed with the transaction.

    • +1

You are trusting feeBay CSR? From my past experience, they are compassionate, but can say things to make you feel good, despite their systems not behaving they they said.

Did you mention TGG is a large / power seller?

      • I am not trusting anyone. They might cancel anyway.

Yes, i mentioned the seller name.

        • +1

I understand it hurts, but you need to read the CSR's response carefully. We often tend to interpret it in the way we want, but the CSR did tell you:

Just in case the seller will push through the cancellation, please let us know so that we can report this seller to our Trust and Safety team.

This simply will lower the seller's rating. CSR already indicated indirectly that they cannot force TGG to proceed.

          • +2

@netsurfer: Not sure where did you read that i am saying that eBay can force the seller. CSR told me to send the message that i dont agree wit the cancel and i want to proceed with the transaction. Thats what i did.

TGG will still cancel and will cotact eBay again as suggested.

            • -1

@snvl: You can fight this if you really want to (it might be a lost cause though), but the $57.90 compensation is reasonable. I know you are upset. However, if you hadn't owned an XB1X before this deal, honestly, it isn't really a must. I understand it is a bargain, but honestly, it is an entertainment device. No matter how you twist it or sugarcoat it, you were spending $341 on entertainment.

              • +2

@netsurfer: it looks like you are more worried than me. I am following CSR advise. I am sure it will get cancelled. I am not stressed by it, are you?

console prices only goes down in prices, there will more bargains to come.

      • +5

        "Yours sincerely,

        Your former customer, Dylan."

        I LOVE IT!

I might use this as a basis for my own email, because I totally agree. Trying to cite their website rules to get out of a deal sold on a totally different website, who do they think they are.

Where can I refuse the cancellation? Or do I need to wait for them to cancel before I can send something like this?
