    Hey guys,

Something important to bring up - we've identified that Amazon has had a tracking issue with orders from the 16th of April up until earlier this afternoon.

We've received confirmation from Amazon that it was resolved earlier this afternoon, but we will be monitoring this matter closely over the next few days. Now unfortunately, this does mean that your orders may not track so we're working closely with them to sort this out.

If you do not receive cashback for your Amazon purchases within 4 days, could you please complete this form or forward your order confirmation email(s) to [email protected]. I've advised the team to put this matter as a priority to resolve.

Any questions, please let us know - will be here to assist.

    • +1

This isn’t the first time Shopback has had failures with tracking Amazon purchases. The frustrating part is the long delays or inaction when completing the form. I hope it is treated as priority as you mention otherwise I’ll be sticking with Cashrewards for future deals.

    • There's been alot of orders from Amazon since the last few days….(12% cash back)

Why does it take up to four days to even show up as pending on our accounts.
Surely it should be much quicker than that.

      • -1

It takes up to 4 days because there's a manual process involved.

Unfortunately there isn't an automated method to feed Amazon cashback to accounts yet, so we first need to wait for Amazon to give us information about the sales that tracked first, then we're able to feed it back to customer accounts.

    • +3

This is very disappointing. I have purchased a lot of items from Amazon in the last 2 days. It will be very tedious to complete the form one by one and also have to attach third party invoices which have to be requested separately. Are you able to let us know the extend of this issue? ie how many were not tracked?

      • -1

I know it's disappointing, especially when it's during a major week for us + while we're doing an upsize for them.

As mentioned above you have two options, to either submit the form, or forward your order confirmation email(s) to [email protected] which you should do the latter instead given you've placed multiple orders.

We don't know how many orders yet, but we know there wasn't a complete break on Amazon's end that caused 100% of the orders failed to track, as some did track. We're currently now working with Amazon to recover a list of transactions that didn't track for us.

        • +1

Just Amazon? Or other stores? Again, I'll ask, why does it take up to 4+ days for it to show as even 'pending' on the SB account.
The other annoying point, is why doesn't the original purchase value show up on each transaction? As the way CR does it. Makes it easier to follow which is which?

I received today, an email from SB saying my cash out was successful. This concerns me since my last cashout I requested to my bank account on the 5th April, 15 days ago.

          • -1

@Spending2Much: As answered above we need Amazon to give us the details about the transactions, and it does not come through straight away. Tracking varies by store due to their tech and how they are integrated to track orders - refer to "Cashback Info/Details" on each store page for tracking times.

This is the way it's always been and I completely understand why it'll be useful to have a purchase value. We've recently had a few requests for this feature and as such has been forwarded to our product team to look at.

For the cashout email, this also sounds like the email went out a bit slow in which I'll have to raise with our finance team. Thanks for your feedback regardless.

    • Does this include public holidays? I placed my order on 18 April. I just submitted a claim anyways.

    • I just submitted a claim as it is missing in my account.

      • Still haven’t heard anything from ShopBack

  • Expiry? Midnight to 3am?

    • +5

      It'll expire 11.59PM AEST tomorrow.

      • +10

Finally a good deal that last more than 9pm-12pm and only eastern states times

      • Hi Reps, can you please confirm if this is eligible for bonus cashback offer ??

        • +1

Amazon did not pass on this code to us so it may not work. If you intend to purchase anyway, there's no harm doing the extra click through ShopBack as it might get approved later (but not guaranteed to).

  • Something about a cart, didn't quite get that?

    • You should only add items to your cart after activating cashback. If you have items already in your cart, then you activate cashback and pay for your order, those items will not track to your account.

      • Is this a technical issue (associated with tracking) or is Amazon discouraging sharing of commissions?

        • +2

We're not too sure exactly, it could go either way.

          But thinking about it:

          • If publisher A (eg. A blogger) somewhat motivated you to add items to your cart
          • Then you somewhat clicked through publisher B shortly after (maybe a price comparison site) afterwards and paid for your purchase, you'd think that publisher B wouldn't deserve the commissions for items added to cart in the previous scenario. We aren't sure however if publisher A still gets some of the commissions if you click through publisher B afterwards and pay.
          • -1

            @gotyourback: What?

Amazon pays partners to send traffic that converts (pays money to Amazon).

If there's already items in the cart Shopback had nothing to do with that so doesn't get paid.

Shopback also gets paid for any purchases made after a click with no conversion within 24 hours (unless affiliate program has changed) unless the user uses another affiliate link.

        • I have the Shopback extension installed in chrome and have not failed to receive Shopback when I forget to add the items after activating. As indicated I do normally remove items and add them again to my cart.

Cashrewards also recommend doing the same. It probably should work either way, but by recommending this process Shopback and Cashrewards would have less customers complaining that they didn't get their dough.

    need some $200 10tb hdd deal :D

    • +1

if interested - 8tb is $217.57 at the moment . I have posted a deal for seagate expansion and Western digital - both at the same price.

      • Only interested in something similar to this lol

Seagate 10TB Backup Plus Desk Hub $195.20 Delivered @ Amazon AU
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/423321

        • Yep I got that one. I’m probably set for storage until a similar deal comes along

    • You missed this deal a couple of days ago- https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/451011
(10tb for around $200 after cashback).

  • This link is broken…

    https://m.shopback.com.au/redirect/alink/2350

    Or being OzBargained

    • Thanks for flagging this. We're investigating. In the mean time, you can try clicking on one of the "Get Deal" buttons on the page to get through or redirecting through our app.

  • -7

Why didn't you guys do it yesterday!!! Just ordered something via cashrewards…

    • +2

You can never please some people…

    • +1

i share your feeling, well, I can’t do return and reorder trick since items I purchased are from oversea. 7 dollars reduction if return

  • +1
    • +2

      Wow, saving $40.59!

  • Does this add above the $2 Bonus Cashback?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/450600

    • Yes it does.

  • +3

How come ShopBack accepts tracking on your mobile but CASHREWARDS makes you go to a computer to ensure it gets tracked?

    • +4

Someone mentioned Shopback invested more into getting their app to track. Guess we're seeing the outcome now?

      • +2

Yes, Cashrewards keeps missing all the tracking. I individually purchased 10 Events tickets from Groupon and only 2 was tracked. But when I used ShopBack to buy another 10 tickets, it tracked all of them.

      • Works fine on the CR app. It's just been disabled in mobile browsers.

  • +2

Does that heading mean it was capped at $50, or it's still capped at $50?

    • +1

      It's still capped at $50.

  • Dam it used cash rewards at 10% for the 8th we hard drive days ago :( and it didn't even track

  • Wow, awesome.

  • Good for spark fm which is back at $629. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/448854

  • What if Amazon loyalty credit automatically reduces check out amount. I have about $20 which will apply without any option to remove to cart items. Looking at a $200 purchase in this case

"Purchases paid with gift cards/Amazon credit & Promo codes or Voucher codes not approved by ShopBack"

    • Don't think it applies… You could purchase something for $20 using the credit > then purchase the $200 item with SB 12% cashback > then cancel the $20 and likely get the credit back?

    • Indeed it wouldn't qualify. The use of any credits would not qualify you for cashback.

  • Is there a limit on the number of transactions we can use this with?

    • +1

      No limit on transactions.

  • Having never used Shopback before I'm just a little unsure of what the $50 cap refers to. Is that per transaction or a blanket $50 cap on cash back from Amazon per account?

    • -2

You can get Max $50 cash back per account. Try it, it's worth it.

    • takes 3months to get access to the "cashback" for Amazon purchases. Just in case the item is returned.

    • +5

$50 cap refers to being able to receive a maximum of $50 cashback per transaction during this promotion.

      • I actually just came to ask whether it was still 12% if you did multiple transactions

I was expecting yes, to max $50 total. But $50 max per transaction is.. whoa :O

(Not that I usually spend enough to even get $20 back)

        • Yep, you are only missing out on high value items.

      • Thanks for the clarification. Thats quite nice.

      • so its unlimited sets of $50 cash back? IS there a limit to it?

        • Yes, till your credit card's credit limit is reached. 😂

  • Thanks OP.

When I find something I'm on the fence about I save it to a list. Then when these deals come along I check the list as voila! Things to buy!

  • Thanks, finally bite into the zojirushi bottle. Bought two, one for me, one for the wife.

  • Purchases paid with gift cards/Amazon credit & Promo codes or Voucher codes not approved by ShopBack

I got an email from amazon that said if I spend >$79 by 30th April I get $20 off. Does this work with Cashback?

    • +1

If any code not listed on ShopBack or credit is used towards your order then you will be ineligible for cashback on that order.

      • It's a real bugger you can't use store credit that amazon has issued to your account to compensate for order problems they've had.

  • Thanks Shopback and Happy Birthday!!

  • is the cashback capped at $50 per account or per transaction?

    • Per transaction. 😄

      • Though that is a lot of shopping if you are doing multiple $500 transactions on amazon 😲

        • +2

You only need to spend $416.7 to reach the cap

          • +2

@bongo007: Technically $458.37 because cashback is only applicable on the pre-GST amount.

  • Does anyone know if cashback works for pre orders on Amazon?

    • +1

Pre-orders are eligible for Cashback provided the item is scheduled to be shipped within 60 days of purchase.

      • Oh right, I missed that. Thanks!

  • Sorry - I've never used shopback before. How does it work? I pay full amount on amazon and receive cash back to my credit card? When I'm on amazon no discount is showing.

    • +1

You make a purchase on Amazon through ShopBack.
It gets recorded that you made a purchase and reflects on your ShopBack profile. After 75 days you're able to "cashout" that amount by transferring it to your bank.
      Hope it helps.

    • +1

Example: you go to shopback, click on Amazon link, get transfer to site, then buy coffee for 20$(no GST), check out, pay. If shopback listed 10% then you get $2.00 back after waiting period.
You can use your bank account or PayPal to receive money.
      Works really well!

  • What are you guys buying? I’m itching to avail this bargain but I can’t find anything to get

  • +1

Does the cashback still work if you have items "saved for later" then click through shopback to activate then move items from Saved for later into your cart?
    thanks Nautilus

    • +1

Yes this is fine. Only add them to your cart after Activating Cashback.

      • this didn’t work for me

  • +1

Will this work for items sold by Amazon US?

    • +1

As long as you placed the order through Amamzon AU, it does.

  • just placed order last night :(

    • If the items is not ship yet, you can still do something to rectify the situation. 😉

      • Already shipped :(

  • On the multiple transactions all I see at shopback is capped at $50 .

Doesn't say anything about multiple transaction use eg using it 5 X $450 for $250 cashback .

  • Sheet I think I'm going to give cc a workout :)

  • Made my first Amazon purchase. My credit card has not been debited. Do they delay processing?

    • You'll be charged at the time the items is marked as shipped. You can check the status here.

  • Hey, quick question. So I made an order using the appropriate steps but after my order was finished it was placed in “open orders” because my bank blocked it for potential fraud (May have made multiple amazon and AliExpress orders in the last hour 😅).

So if I unblocked the card and then just clicked update payment and it was processed, does it still register that I went through Shopback?

    • To my understanding, it should register the purchase. You can sned gotyourback a message for assurance.

      • Ah yeah. I saw so many rep replies that I forgot they weren’t the OP of the post

    • Yes in this scenario it should register - but could you confirm when you placed the order? As per my comment below, there's been a tracking issue that was just fixed this afternoon.

      • Ordered at 1:30pm AEST (QLD) and confirmed payment at 2pm

        • +1

Okay we did mitigate the issue just after 11am, so it sounds like your order should be okay to come through. If not just let me know and I'll let you know what to do next.

  • won't trust shopback again.

  • I only just got notified that the cashback is being tracked for an order placed 18th April, but it is only the usual 6% instead of the advertised 12% … anyone else have the same problem?

    • Same thing happened to me, only got 6% instead of 12%. Will shoot them an e-mail again and hope they notice from here as well

      • I just DMed them direct here and got it sorted in less than an hour

        • Oh wow, ok i will try DM them here. Thank you for the info

    • +1

Yep it appears they've done this for everyone. OP - you should fix this for everyone and not require us all to PM you. A lot of people trust the system works.

      • Alot extra purchases, based on 12% back.

    • -1

Hey guys, sorry about this, for those who haven't reached out for a fix yet, we've fixed this up already and you should see an extra entry on your account for the same transaction (you'll see 2 cashback entries at 6% each).

  • It's so annoying that shopback don't have the purchase amount on the cashback pending.
With reports above of them paying out 6% instead of 12%, I'm sure there would have been many many extra Amazon purchases based on the expected cashback increase.

Of CashRewards can do it, surely shopback can as well.
