      • Same here, it triggered an enquiry on my file the same day I submitted my application on Wed 15th.

I may call on Tuesday if nothing happens on Monday.

    • +1

Yep also stuck since last week. And no credit check yet coming up on credit savvy.

  • Applied, Didn't get declined but got offered a lower tier card with 35000 minimum income $195 annual fee with no mention of the quantas offer.

    • Same here, wonder if it will go onto my credit report. Probably will, even though I declined the platinum card.

      • think it was because i already have 4 cards with about 30k limit already.

Can someone clarify - do you pay interest on every single purchase? Or only that which you don't repay by the due date?

    • if you dont repay after the interest free preiod

  • Noob question, can't really find specific info on this :

Is the $49 qff fee required to get qff points on spend only? Or do you need to pay the fee to get the bonus 90k?

Pretty sure with westpac you don't have to pay the fee to get bonus, however judging by the comments here it seems there's no getting away from paying $49 if you want the bonus?
    Thanks

Has anyone been approved with <75k income?

    • Asked and answered already. It won’t let you proceed if you don’t meet the income requirements.

  • Uploaded my documents on Friday and hadn’t heard back so thought I’d click the link again and after entering the OTP it says:

Here is a summary of your application:
    ✅ submitted
    Application reference number: xxxx
    Application date: xxxx
    Application expiry date: xxxx

But then a little below that it says

    Citi Rewards Signature Credit Card
    ✅ cancelled

?? What is this cancelled status 🤔

    • Thats strange. Mine still says Submitted after they ran a credit check on Saturday.

Try to give me a call and then ask them to check the status of your CC application.

    • I applied on Thursday and mine had the same 'cancelled' state all weekend. I've just checked again and it now says 'submitted', so maybe leave it another day.

    • Same issue here….

    • Mine is showing as submitted again

  • Just got a message on an email that my application is approved.
But are they referring this Qantas Signature as Citibank Rewards Credit Card on email and application?
I am a bit worry if they put me onto a wrong card.

    • I called them regarding this issue today. They report that I need to call them after I have activated the card, and they will then link it to the Qantas FF program.

      • Thanks .. yeah i got similar answer … probably because the account is not activated, the other team have not updating the Qantas FF number.
But the staff want me to call back after the card is activated just to be sure the QFF number has been entered to the account.

Approved.. Self employed, on my 5th credit card churn for the year, including a Qantas Money Platinum that I closed about 2 weeks ago.

  • +1

I think the card is referred as Citibank Rewards Credit Card because as per their approval email it is stated that if you enrol in Qantas Rewards (they ask your QFF number during the application process) $49 will be charged per account upon enrolment.

Below is the Credit Fees and Charges details under Financial Table in the approval mail.

$0, debited to your Account on first use of the Account (including Card activation), and then $395 on each anniversary of the date Citibank approved your Account.

If you enrol in Citibank Qantas Rewards, $49 will be charged per account upon enrolment, and then on each anniversary of the date of enrolment.

  • Got a phone call today regarding my application.

They asked a bunch of questions about how many cards i have and which ones have i recently cancelled. Got an approval email a few hours later.

    • Nice, when did you apply?

      • Thursday last week

    • They called me today only asked my previous address

  • So what's the consensus - can current long term holders of the Citi Signature Rewards Free for Life apply for this card and will get bonus points?

    • I spent some time this morning on a chat with the Citi bank and asked about this situation.
Apparently if your existing Citi Signature Rewards Free for Life card is more than 9 months old, you are considered a "new applicant" and will be eligible for the bonus points, provided of course you are approved and meet the spending criteria.

      • So, is this confirmed? I got the fee free for life Citi Reward signature for more than 4 years. Can I apply and get the bonus QFF points? Thanks.

        • I don't know how reliable this is, but that's what they told me via an online chat so I applied just now.

          • +1

@jackwilk: I think I will need to do another online chat and capture the reply of eligibility as the proof in case they don't honour the deal.

  • “sorry but we could not accept your application at this time”. just at step 3, what the??

    • +3

I had a similar issue. It was just a timeout of the form.

  • To earn the points by spending $4000, can I pay bills? eg council, rego, water etc?

  • For us that have more than 1 Citibank signature cards. How are they giving us the priority pass? Will it combine to 1 priority pass membership getting 4 passes this year? Or there will be 2 separate memberships?

  • Do I mention supplementary credit card I have in the application process or I need write about CC I hold as primary card holder only?
Also is it easy and safe to sell these 90K QFF points?

  • No news since Thursday last week.
Should I just ignore and move on? Or continue fo wait?

Anyone still waiting to hear back from them since last week??

    • Applied on last Thursday and still the status is "submitted"

    • Applied and submitted docs last Wed. Haven't heard anything since

    • Yeah same here. Stuck in submitted since Friday morning.

      • Has anyone tried calling Citi up to see what's going on?

        • No I haven’t but should I ?

          • @prisonmike: So I got a call and they verified my identity by asking some questions. After that they said that they are going to forward my application to the next team for decision and that I will hear from them in next few days via email.

Its a strange and slow process.

    • Mines also sitting on submitted. I'm guessing they had an influx of applications but other banks seem to handle them fairly quickly. Doesn't leave me with much confident in citi, they don't seem to have a good reputation anyway reading comments.

      • Update - Just got a call from citi asking me to confirm details and what I had declared, said I'd hear back in next few days.

        • Got called again for further information, waited another two days after that to ultimately be declined. First credit card I have been declined for and easily met the criteria.

          • @F-22: Do you earn 6 figures and don't have a mortgage?

            • @nightelves: Yes, but do have 200k left on mortgage.

              • @F-22: Citibank seems to be targeting people with a lot of debt based on comments about this card.

                • @nightelves: Yeah did read previous comments but thought I'd give it a go anyway. From now on I'll stay away from citi, don't want to damage credit report too much.

  • Just got a call from an inidan call centre verifying my lodged info.

Said I am in final stages of approval should hear back in next 7 days.

  • I applied twice, first time I didn’t have a Qantas number so cancelled that application and reapplied. Citibank then cancelled both applications and gave me a new 17 digit number. So if your status is cancelled then you might have a 17 digit number. Found this out via online chat.

  • Rejected so applied for the anz one instead. Approved straightaway and card received today.

    • How many points for ANZ?

I had an anz black before….
But forgot how long ago i cancelled it….cant back track from any emails or letters. But must be close to 1 year or may be more than 12 months already.

      Anyway to check?

    • Did they ask for payslip?

    • wow…just checked ANZ card out….$425 annual fee…a bit over kill…but $200 back after $4000 spend. so means still $225 annual fee for 100,000 points if approved.

      • Offset by two lounge passes, should you wish to sell them ($90-100).

        • I did not know you could sell them, thanks. Easy to transfer?

        • +2

Oh man, I'm in tears. $90-$100?

          You are joking right?

$60 for the pair at best

          • @trotsky: aren't the passes all electronic now to stop people selling them?

            • @alwaysis: That doesn't stop people selling them, it just makes the process of doing so somewhat tedious.

@trotsky welcome to the free market, comrade.

              • +4

@JohnHowardsEyebrows: You may have misunderstood, I was telling you your valuation is off. People are not queuing up to pay $45 for bacon and eggs in a packed Qantas Club lounge, lol

                • @trotsky: They seem to be selling for about $50 each on Ebay, but now that they are digital, transfer can be tracked, so you are risking potential suspension of your entire Qantas frequent flyer account.

                  • +2

@vetopower: They're not selling at $50 on ebay, that is why they are there when you search for them. There is 1 currently at $31 with 14 bids, the next is $50 for 2 passes ($25 ea) with 1 bid. After that, a lot of fanciful $50 listings with 0 bids.

Search around ozb classifieds and you will see the same. People will pay $30, sellers will try to sell for $50, but there are no smart buyers at that price.

                    • @trotsky: OK, I hadn't noticed that, just seen the Gumtree listings. I haven't been in the market since they got rid of cardboard passes.

$50 is not worth it for the Qantas Club, completely agree (though people seem happy to pay $40 for paper Virgin domestic lounge passes), but could be worth it for international business lounges, or the mixed lounges in HK or Singapore (though access is tighter these days).

          • @trotsky: Dry your tears, I sold 2 digital qantas passes on gumtree for $110 just yesterday. Lowest I have ever sold for is $100 and that is across about a dozen pairs.

            • @endolphin: I'll save my tears for your QFF account, because if you've actually sold 24 lounge passes and even half of them are digital, you're gonna be banned hard. It might be worth $1200 to you but I'd do 4 times that a year in card bonuses alone so regardless of if you're right, your judgement is poor

              • @trotsky: Exactly what rules am I breaking by "giving my passes away"?

You are right that bonuses are the real game though and absolutely dwarf any value attributable to lounge passes received. A nice offset to any annual fees though.

                • @endolphin: lol. The rule about selling them, but yes you have outsmarted them totally. Just say you gave them away. I'm sure the random you sold them to who paid that sort of money on Gumtree is a genius who won't grass on you.

        • last pair i sold on ebay for $46. don't get your hopes up.

          • @Jdog88: The good old days are clearly over, when you could hold three or four credit cards offering two paper passes, they'd frequently bungle delivery (they'd send more, then you got the original - I once got 6 out of Westpac due to the stuf up), and then sell them for $55-60 apiece.

            • @JohnHowardsEyebrows: Ermm why am I being negged? For talking about the higher price, or talking about when Westpac made me wait 4 or 5 months, then sent 6 passes within 2 weeks?

  • Any tips on how long it takes for approval, mines been submitted for a week and i got nada….St George took about 4 hours to approve!

    • i got the call a day after you blokes last Friday - same verifications but still showing "submitted"….this really is a LONG process to authorise versus other cards.

I presume it takes this long because its forged by hand by Orcs in the fires of Mordor?

  • I applied last week:
    Application Date:May 16, 2019 (last Thurs)

Got a phone call last night to confirm some final details, then it was onto the next stage

    • What time last night?

Thursday too, but no news yet….so sad

  • Update: Got a rejection email a few minutes ago.

    This is what it said:

In deciding to grant or refuse credit we typically rely on a number of sources including information provided by you and information provided by credit reporting agencies. Factors that we consider in our assessment may include (but are not limited to):

    i. The adequacy of your income and other sources to repay credit.
ii. The extent of your indebtedness and other commitments.
iii. The security of your employment.

If your circumstances change, you can reapply after three months.

    • Damn. You got boned. After all that effort.

  • +1

I applied last Thursday (16th). Yesterday had a call from them asking me to verify some basic questions. Then she said I'm in the final stages of the process. Got the approval sms/email last night.

  • Rejected - pushed me to some other card.

They wanted to to only lend me 14.5K, as opposed to the 15K minimum here. How arbitrary. Can't mess with the algorithm I guess.

    • Approved for the ANZ Frequent Flyer with a 15K credit limit

      ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • Just called them, still in the processing stage. Finger crossed

    • Hey, was this from the automated message or after talking customer service?

      • Talking to customer service.

        • was told to wait for 5 to 7 business day for them to look at it…what the…while others got approve quick,..

          • @bibimbap: When did you apply ?

            • @HardQuiz: last Wednesday and submitted payslip on same day.
              Status is Submitted

              • @bibimbap: Same here, I applied late on Wednesday. Few on OzB who applied on Thursday managed to either receive a call or even get approved.

                • @HardQuiz: No news yet since Thursday either. 😪😪😪

  • Citibank just called me, wanted to verify few things, even called my work place to confirm my employment and salary. They go pretty deep lol. My past experience has always been straightforward but not this time.

  • +1

Submitted last Thursday, got a call this morning to verify details and just got a text to confirm that I've been approved (with a limit of bloody $42k?!)

    Salary 100k
2 credit cards for years and years
    Huge mortgage

    • did u not specify the limit u wanted?

      • apparently not.

        • Rookie error. You'll learn for next time :)

  • Is this deal expired?

  • +1

Still confused about whether bpay transactions are included in $4000.
    From this link: https://www.citibank.com.au/global_docs/pdf/eligibletransact…

"Eligible Transaction means any purchase excluding (but not limited to) Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, BPAY payments, purchases of foreign currency and travellers cheques…" etc

    So what does that mean?

    • +1

Not sure what's so confusing.. read it this way.
Eligible Transaction means any purchase excluding BPAY payments.
