    • applied 17th june here, had a call on friday 28th, still waiting…..I expect rejection now to be honest.

      • Damn. Just dug up the application link:

        Submitted
        Application Date:Jun 21, 2019
        Application Expiry Date:Jul 12, 2019

        • +2

Yes, the very informative application status. Slowest process ever…….

        • You have to call them to see what's going on

          • @gimme: I've only been rejected for credit cards twice in my churning career. On both occasions I had rung up to check on my application status. Maybe i'm just cynical but I try to avoid this. Don't want to appear as desperate!! LOL

            • @Poolprouk: Definitely overthinking :) causality vs correlation. Asking for a status doesn't impact their decision. (I was in a similar situation and turns out it was 'stuck' so calling got them moving again)

        • Finally, after 17 days since application. Approved!

This was an even more exciting approval than normal due to :-

          1. The length of time it took, such a cliff hanger.
          2. I received 5 emails at the same time telling me i'd been approved and my address had been changed twice, my phone number changed and my PIN Number changed
          3. At the same time i received 4 text messages (why not 5?) saying basically the same thing.

All these notifications made for a pleasant feeling considering my phone was hiding away in my trouser pocket.

Hang in there, it's worth the wait in the end ;-)

          • @Poolprouk: Just got a flurry of texts indicating that I've been approved lol

Should rebrand to Bank of Perth

            • +1

@psnatch: Geez, over a month, that’s horrendous. Spend spend spend :-)

              • @Poolprouk: Just got the card and it's THE WRONG EFFING CARD

On the phone to them now. How these guys are in business is beyond me.

                • @psnatch: oh no, what did you get?

                  • @Poolprouk: Ok, I was just confused…after 9x calling customer service and being bumped around/disconnected, I finally got someone to confirm that the regular "citi rewards credit card" account is actually linked to my Qantas FF membership.

Oh, they had my address wrong too / sent the card to my neighbour.

Fun times! All seems to be cleared up now. Can't wait to get the points and cancel hahaha

  • My QFF statement from yesterday shows 4 lots of points for Citibank credited
3, 287, 1743 And 198 points. All on same day
What an odd way to credit the points to my QFF account.
$3152 spend, so not quite the 4k yet.
Will call Citibank tomorrow and find out what's going on.

Here's mine. Incurred around 1700 last statement and around 3500 so far, very weird indeed and cant help but feel like I've been shortchanged.

      • How many days did it take for you to receive the points after the statement was issued?

  • Finally got my "Citibank Visa Signature" card yesterday. Was quite a journey until approval.

    Applied 18-Jun
Application in Submitted status and zero updates thereafter
Started looking for other card options
Got a call on 26-Jun for more payslips and company contact to confirm employment details
Submitted the payslips same day. Again no updates after that
Finally got the approval mail on 28-Jun

Activated it today and confirmed from the Rewards tab that my QFF number has been correctly added. Got onto Livechat to confirm that I am eligible for the 90K points after reaching the spend criteria. All good now and onto reaching 4K spending!

  • Very strange. Got rejected by Citibank. Called up to complain. They reassessed and then approved the application with a $30,000+ credit limit (set by them, I didn't request any specific limit).

    • +1

Same thing happened to me. When I asked why I was rejected they said I had an old debt owing, then claimed that I should speak to customer service and also supply my veda credit report to ask for a reassessment.
I did as they asked - I owe them nothing, credit file had nothing on it, my application then got case managed by one person (numerous calls over a few days asking random things), then wella it was approved.
I'm glad I didn't let it go, and really I only followed through with it as I saw red when they claimed I owed them money (which I know I didn't and could have affected further applications with other banks).

Got my first statement available to be viewed. But csnt download it due to server temp delay.
But this was using my mob Citi app.

But in the page, I could see points earned 94,210.55 points earned when my close balance is 5610.

Qantas website has no points coming in yet though.

    • Same for me. I received my statement via email this morning (when I sign in online it says not available). 90,000 bonus qantas points shows on the statement, and as i'm writing this, the points have now appeared in my qantas account :D

P.S. I can confirm government charges DO count towards the minimum spend

      • Statement does show in email attachment received sat arvo. But nothing in Qantas site yet

        Prob wait till business hours

      • Did you pay off the statement balance already before the points go into Qantas?

        • Nope haven't paid it off yet. The points were in my Qantas account within hours of receiving the citibank statement via email

          • +1

@bighorse: Has anyone else made the 4k spend and statement shows the points but does not appear in Qantas website ?

            • @lovepub: Statement issued about a week ago and shows the bonus points, still haven't received them in my Qantas account.

              • @cynix: Got a call from Citibank.
My name doesn't match Qantas…so points csnt go in.

So I will have to call Qantas double check exact name on file and call Citi back to let them know. Point will then be credited next bill cycle

                • @lovepub: Does the name need to include title like Mr? What format is it? (e.g. "John Doe" or "Doe, John Mr"?)

                  • @cynix: Absolutely no idea…..just changed mine to name without the MR.

Maybe someone who got the points could shed some lights

                    • @lovepub: Any update?

Qantas came back to me and said that my:

                      First name was'John P'
                      Last name was 'Doe'

Trying to work out what I need to do with middle name..

                      oh boy..

                      • @Agent Q: Name issue.

Called Citi and changed my Citi name to match my Qantas profile name.

Points will be credit next bill cycle.

And told them to change the Qantas rewards matching name.

                        • @lovepub: So after calling up Citi to fix your name, what do you now see if you click on "Modify Details" in the Rewards tab? Is it "John Doe" or "DOE,JOHN" or something else?

                          • @cynix: "FIRSTNAME, SURNAME,Mr"
                            "MICHAEL, JORDAN KING, Mr"

i am holding my breath till next bill statement …hopefully my points come thorugh.

                            • @lovepub: Thanks, I'll try the same format and see how I go.

                              • @cynix: I got my second statement and bonus points are in my Qantas.
                                So make sure names match.

  • Hi,
I applied this card on 28 june 2018, but just manage to submit the document today using the online form(09/07/2019)
as it keep sending text message to complete the document, though I did sent it via email on 28 june (seems like it didn't work)

any idea if I would still be eligible for this deal?
& if no, would it be possible to reject the card in case it come with the $395 fee?

    Thanks

    • Why don't you contact citibank… surely

  • -4

This card is, by far, the worst made card I've ever had. The card number is printed on the back rather than pressed. It looks cheaper than a eBay gift card.

    • +2

I like it and find it easier to read. I also never use the card for payment anyway (samsung pay) so it stays under the mattress next to my million dollars.

    • +1

I personally find it looks more professional than any other credit/bank card I've had. That's just my opinion though.

      • Couldn’t disagree more.. looks amateurish in my opinion..

  • -1

Rejected, engineer earning 75K, no credit history. What a waste of time.

    • no credit history

      Maybe that’s your problem.

  • So I applied for and got approved for this card in late May. After a few days I checked and couldn't see anywhere online in my account that showed whether it was linked to my QFF, so I called up and gave them my QFF details, was assured it was now linked and I'd be eligible for the 90,000 points. I can see now that my QFF number is in there when I log on.

First statement arrives - no $49 charge for the QFF program, no points accumulated. Queried via webchat - they said because I linked my QFF midway through a statement cycle, it would come through in the next statement.

Has anyone else experienced this?? I haven't received my second statement yet but I would have spent well over the $4K limit for the 90,000 points, and my QFF points balance is still zero, which is worrying me. Still have not been charged the $49 either.

    • "it would come through in the next statement"

      • Well I just got my next statement - no points, no $49 charge, as I suspected.

So far I have had the card for two months, spent thousands, and have no points. Will be contacting Citibank later today!!

    • Points showed up on my statement but not credited to my Qantas account…been a week or so as and still waiting…I was told to wait till 28th of month..

      • Same here, bonus points shown on statement and listed as "Active" on the "Redemption Activity" page in online banking (as opposed to "Fulfilled" for people who have received the points).

  • does anyone know the reason for bonus points in the statement?

    • you get bonus QFF points per dollar spent …

  • Activated card today and confirmed via livechat about the QFF point eligibility.
    Time to start spending!

  • $90000+ income, almost 8+ in the same job (IT related), no credit cards debt,no personal loans etc., mortgage almost paid off - declined as soon as I applied online, got an email a month later:

    Dear … ,
    Ref: ……….
Thank you for your recent application for a/an Citibank Rewards Credit Card - Signature.
After careful consideration, we regret to advise that we are unable to establish an account for you at this time. Our decision is based on an overall assessment of all the information provided in your application.
In deciding to grant or refuse credit we typically rely on a number of sources including information provided by you and information provided by credit reporting agencies. Factors that we consider in our assessment may include (but are not limited to):
    i. The adequacy of your income and other sources to repay credit.
ii. The extent of your indebtedness and other commitments.
iii. The security of your employment.
If your circumstances change, you can reapply after three months.

Took points off my credit rating - the most annoying part.

    • What’s your credit rating? You might not have enough debt history.. ie proof of paying off cc debt for example.

I had a very simple application and points where paid at the first statement date.. ie I didn’t even have to pay the statement.
Only had a couple of calls to verify identity as I held a Citibank bank account that had old details..

Prob the easiest churn of all the cards I’ve tried..

  • Applied on 30 June, still haven't had a response. Citibank has breached their own expiry date for the application.

    • After many Live Chats and phone calls, my application was finally approved today!
Let's see how long it takes the card to arrive…

  • +1

got my bonus points first statement

confirmed that council rates count for bonus points, but doesn't look to count as normal spend.

  • this is super annoying as I'm still waiting to hear back about my application. It's been a good 6 weeks now and I think my credit has taken a hit because I applied (it's still 820 on credit savvy). Also the free QFF points are no longer available which is the only reason I applied. Everytime I call them I go through the motions, enter my phone number etc and then get forwarded somewhere else where the phone hangs up.

  • For everyone with this card - can you advise how to get the priority pass?

I assumed it will be automatically mailed to me - but I’ve had this card for 2 months now and received nothing.

    • +1

I think you call them and they give you a code to enter into the priority pass website, thats what I had to do for another credit card, not sure if I did it for this one?

      • +1

In your welcome pack there is a priority pass flyer with a code on it… you go to the site and register, then download the app and log in, they also send you a proper priority pass card in the mail weeks later.

      • I did exactly the same, did not receive code with the welcome pack, contacted them through the chat and they provided me the code.

        • Yeah maybe worth calling them then.

        • Thanks. Will try that.

  • Does anyone have first, middle and last name with Qantas?

If so, how does this appear in your Citibank miles registration?

I've been struggling for the last 3 months with getting Citibank to credit points…

    • I have same issue - last 3 months of points not being credited but phone call + message on their portal and after further investigation they said they'll credit the 4k points. I havent received the points but will follow up again next week if still no points. Can't wait to close this account after I get the 90k points. Pathetic customer service - AMEX is miles ahead in this department.
