Been a week, just got a call for verification… Still waiting to see whether approved or not. Slow process is slow.

    • I thought 3 business days was long.. looks like I’ll keep waiting…

    • Very slow. My application submitted on 7th, received a call on 14th. Im still waiting…

    • Ugh 2 days later still nothing, calling them again on the Verifications team number on 1800 807 138, got them to push it along to Final decision…

      fingers crossed

      • did they tell you to wait 24- 48 hours too?

        • +2

          update: approved tonight.

          • @a4033: Thanks, applied on 17th. No contact yet though, reassuring to know that it might take a while. Most cards I have in my hand 7-10 days after application…

    • UGH DECLINED. What a waste of time.

      • When people say declined, is this during the application or after the submission of documentation?

  • signup, lets see how approval goes.

  • Does anybody know about additional / supplementary card holders? Can't find info on their site… is there a fee for additional card?

    • Free additional card holder .

Login using computer will see the option

    • You have to fill a form. No charge.

Refused immediately following online application (and offered a worthless lesser card) despite a good credit rating and meeting all eligibility requirements. A first in years of churning. Last time I apply for a Citi card.

  • It's strange the application form forces you to enter a home phone for your residential address and a mobile phone for your employer.

    • It's obvious they don't use the home phone, I don't have one, but they call your mobile.

  • I started an application and it saved. I intended to not proceed with this application. Today I got an alert from my credit report staying there was a credit enquiry for 0 from citibank. Is this normal if you did not finalise or submit the application?

    Kind of annoyed.

    • You might as well go ahead with the application since they did the credit check.

Credit check score already lowered …cant be reversed. So try your luck applying. I got mine approved….some much more financially stronger than me got declined….so all by luck chance. Try it out.

      • I ended up with 2 credit checks, 1 day apart. One for $0, next day one for $15k.

Don't remember if I saved and resumed

        • Strange, i only had 1 check and $0.

    • Update:
I filed a complaint with Citi stating that I thought it was unreasonable. They've sent a request to have the credit enquiry removed. Will have to see how that goes..

  • Pardon my ignorance.

Received my card yesterday. how do you sign up for priority pass ? priority pass website said you need a invite code. didn't see one in the mail.

Also, do you have to call them up to opt in for Qantas points ?

    • +1

You should get it in the letter along with the card.

      I did.
And it's a pamphlet size with a invitation code. Black coloured.

Then u go online to activate VIP and then it will be in your account for priority pass . Seems not transferable. Hard to use it with kid travelling together. You would have to pay for them $27 each

As most others did, give them a call to make sure you r all good for 90k Qantas points when u hit 4k spend.

They will tell u yes or no.

      • Hmm, nothing in my letter. Will give them a call. Thanks lovepub

        • I didn't receive one either, that's annoying :(

          • +1

@bighorse: I didnt get anything either?.. received card with no mention of the pass.. had to call them to verity I am registered to the 90K points which I am…

            • @1968: You have to call them and ask for the pass. They'll give you a link on the PriorityPass website and a code to sign up.

      • i called them and they then redirected me to a QFF team which had no idea. these guys are useless.

        • Regarding what

  • I'm in month 2 of 3 of fulfilling minimum spend on a different card.
Wonder if they'll extend this offer past 30 June.

  • +2

For anyone missing an invite code for priority pass, I got mine over chat. Easy peasy.

    • Thanks. Mine didn't come in the mail. Got the code from online chat. Good advice.

  • Applied June 1.
Heard nothing until received a call yesterday to get some additional details.
    Approved today.

I thought I wouldn't get approved, like others, given my good credit history.

    • Wow…u r patient.

  • I've had 2x $15K credit inquiries on my account even though I only applied for one card. The inquiries were almost 10 days apart. I contacted them and they said don't worry it will have no impact on your credit score but wouldn't tell me why there's 2 inquiries. I pushed a little and eventually they said that they will escalate to some specialist team to investigate. May or may not have any impact on my credit rating but I still don't want an inquiry that may have been done in error.

    • +1

If you have registered with CreditSavvy, you can just send the enquiry to them, they will sort it out with Citibank.

When I applied with St George, somehow, they stuff up and created 2 applications for me, hence 2 enquiries. Raised with CreditSavvy and the extra enquiry removed after a month.

      • Great thanks for the tip.

        • Sorry, should be Credit Simple - not Savvy. Always got these 2 mixup.

There is no option to raise dispute in Credit Savvy

          • @timhn: Oh I just sent them an email. Let's see what they say

  • Received the 90K points today. Plus 5K bonus which they promised me on the phone as a thanks for promptly returning their inquiries about my income status during application.

FYI I still hold the free-for-life Citi Signature from years ago.

Will be closing this one shortly :-)

    • With government spend? Offering an extra 5, for doing what we've all done anyway, during the application process is alright

      • +1

Nah no govt spend this time.

        • Wow, that's quite impressive that they give out points that quick. I assumed that you got the points after spent $4K in first statement?

  • +1

Applied on 6th, 18th they sent me a text requesting more detail but i forgot about it. Today received a text and email saying it's been approved. lol

  • +4

FWIW, for anyone still wondering whether they have correctly linked/applied for the QFF version of this card…

From EVERY piece of confirmation received (apart from web chat), this card has always been referred to as "Citibank Rewards Credit Card - Signature" with zero mention of it linked to QFF. Like many of you here, I reached out and confirmed it was indeed linked to QFF & eligible for the bonus promotion.

I have received first statement, which also refers to this card as "Citibank Rewards Credit Card - Signature", however, clearly shows QFF points & bonus points being earned = happy days!

Posting this hoping it'll help relieve some people's ongoing concerns about the QFF linkage etc.

    • +1

Now let's try to bust the next myth whether govt spending counts towards the min spend.

      • +3

I've spent over $4k in my first month, just over $2k of it being government charges. Once the billing cycle ends I'll see if I get the bonus points or not and I'll post up the results. I've contacted Citibank several times regarding this and, well, let's just say they're refusing to give a clear answer

      • Just received my first statement. Spent just over $5k, $2350 of which were government charges. And surprise surprise, I received the 90,000 bonus qantas points. Showing in my qantas account already

  • how many days after you complete your spend did u receive the points?

    • I reached the criteria in the first month and to my surprise, the bonus points landed in my QFF account on the day of receiving my first statement

  • Smashed out 5k on the first statement and got my points. Can i cancel now and get the missus to sign up for one ?!

    • +1

      Why not

      • I thought cancelling cards too often gives you a bad credit rating?

        • Not really. The number of credit inquiries on your file may have some variable impact but as long as you're closing the previous account (i.e Not just simply adding more potential debt) and not churning through 12 cards a year I wouldn't worry about it as long as you are in overall good credit standing. It's a OZB sport to do this sort of stuff and most of us seem to be able to do it without any issues. I personally go through about 2-3 /year with no impact.

Also you and your mrs are 2 different people so I don't think one would impact the other.

          • @gimme: Good point, might get her to apply for a different one lol

          • @gimme: I can't imagine Citibank or any other credit card provider looking favorably on someone who's taken their card out, claimed bonus points and promptly cancelled. The provider will probably have made a loss on that client.

12-18 months later when the churn and burner returns for another bonus point deal I'd say the chances of rejection would be increased……

            • @Poolprouk: I've done exactly what you said with 4 banks (incl CitiBank) and approved every single time. I've also never paid any interest on a CC ever. So the bank's only $$ from me would have been merchant charges.

    • +1

That's what I just did. Almost complete the current req spending on my one.

Now apply for Ms to pay for house insurance & energy bills coming soon.

I'm never looking forward to pay bills on-time like this time!

    • Same here, all done, got points, time to move along.

  • Also rejected even though I'm in good standing. I had a really confusing telephone call with one of their reps that took up 20 mins of my time that I'm sure didn't help. Citibank really is as difficult as many people here said!

  • got approved.

    very surprised,
I saw the credit check notification come in, and when I did I also saw my st george $15k card was still showing as not closed.

  • Where do people do there credit checks? (I've been using GetCreditScore but its pretty basic..)

    • +2

creditsimple.com.au provides email notifications if something changes or is accessed

  • Anyone getting login error for online banking on their mobile using chrome.?

Says Character not allowed on both my Samsung and iPhone

  • Applied on 15th and approved on 26th.

Didn't get a verification call / upload payslips.

Now waiting for the card and to check of its the QFF promo… As people have previously mentioned the email confirmations only say Signature.

    • My situation was pretty much the same. Applied on the 20th and got it yesterday. Also no QFF promo thing.

  • Applied and approved online. Now the wait to see if the approval is real.
I must say I'm not keen to lose google pay. Will have to charge up my gear s3 but I always found google pay to be faster and more reliable

    • google pay is far better than samsung pay. I have no choice with CB but SPay is annoying me with additional steps and crap in-app ads!! (even though all marketing is turned off)

    • Got a couple of verification calls at work on 2/7 and approved 3/7 - awaiting card now

      • Card came today.

Applied 27/6 and got card 8/7. Didn't have to submit any payslips or go into a branch - pretty good!

  • Re the complimentary bottle of wine at select restaurants.. does it get credited to your card after payment or does the restaurant just give you the bottle free?
I imagine these restaurants don’t know anything about this deal so wondering how it works…

    • Curious as well, I think you have to mention to them about the benefit and show them your card. most likely they would not know about it and will go up the management chain to be confirmed. I would pull out the website and show them that their restaurant is listed and you get a free bottle!

    • +1

When you ordering you ask for the citi bank wine and they should have a choice of white or red.

Then when the bill comes it shows the wine on the bill as 0.00

    • Dont like the feeling of asking for the wine when you are dinning out.
How many people actually asked for one?

      • +1

Why feel shy? I always tell them bring me the Citibank wine lol

  • I have applied since 20 June but havent got the result yet. Am I still eligible for the promotion if it’s approved after 30 June?

    • +1

Had a chat with them and got confirmation from them that it's based on application date. So you will be alright.

    • Also, don't be afraid to follow-up. I would have potentially waited indefinitely had i chosen to wait for them. When I called they seem to indicate that there was some sort of 'error' with my application and essentially asked me some personal questions over the phone. Exactly what I had already provided on my application. They never contacted me (2 weeks) to verify anything until I contacted them so it may have potentially sat in limbo for who knows how long otherwise.

  • +2

Already received my 90K QF points. Thumbs up to Citibank.

    • +1

      Any government spend?

      • +1

        Yes!. All of it.

        • +1

          Very good to know

          • @Spending2Much: Haha classic, after I contacted Citibank three times and was told the same rubbish each time, that the minimum spend had to be on eligible transactions only (eg. No government spend). They were managers also that I was speaking to. I knew they had no idea what they were talking about, couldn't even read their own terms and conditions

          • @Spending2Much: Just to add, with other banks I had to wait 6-8 weeks before I receive the promotion QF points but with Citi, I got my points BEFORE I pay my statement bill.

            • @pork chop: Where do you see the points ?

              Login using mobile or computer?
See it in Qantas website or Citibank website?

I have hit $5k spend but not yet generate the 1st statement…..should I wait.?

              • @lovepub: QF website.

                • @pork chop: Confirm that the points land into Qantas 1 day after statement closing date.

                  • @timhn: My statement due date is not until later this month and I already received my points when I logged onto my QF portal.

                    • @pork chop: When did you get your approval and card activation date

                    • @pork chop: Really. I keep checking my Qantas app after spent the required amount from since last week and didn't see any update.

Not until yesterday when i see my total points went up more than 90K .

      • I can now also confirm government charges count towards the minimum spend. I just received my 90,000 bonus points. Spent just over $5k, $2350 of which were government charges. Qantas points showing in my account already. How funny that even the staff at Citibank have absolutely no clue. I was told countless times that they wouldn't count.

    • How many days after the statement?

  • +2

ANyone know if the offer for no annual fee first year still applies? Website says it "apply before June 30" but they often extend these sorts of offers.

  • Was a bit sceptical with all the bad reviews on Citibanks. Points received today after meeting spending requirement prior to 30 June. Fastest out of all my previous card churns!

  • I didn't receive any communication from them after applying.

I assume I was denied, but thought that was a bit weird?
