$400 voucher is being advertised but Westfield Chatswood is throwing in an extra $100 and making it $500. Today and tomorrow only I was told.

    • I too would like to know…chatswood is far from me

    • Keen to know the same thing as well
Not sure if showing them this post would work

    • +1

I walked into JB in galeries Victoria and the dude was like "yep on today and tomorrow". Didn't need to show anything

  • +5

By this rate, in December when my plan ends, I think they will be giving me a free plan.

    • +4

They will be paying us for using their plans. You need to think like an Ozbargainer!

    • They should throw in new release high end phones to use their plan!!!

      • I would be happy to pay $50 a month for this plan and a new flagship.

  • What’s included in this anyway apart from Data and unlimited local calls/text? The month to month on their website is cheaper. I guess there is a mark up to cover the giftcard’s costs?

    • Where is there a 60GB plan on Telstra's site for a comparative price of $23/month?

      • +1

Still reckon this is a bit overpriced at $65 per month if the giftcard is actually ‘free’

  • Can I buy a cheap prepaid, then port to Telstra for this deal?

    • Yes, if you activate a Vodafone or Optus prepaid sim you can port it for this deal.

  • Can you add POM data on this plan for the regular $10/mo extra?

  • +1

Anyone know if you can sign up for this deal but delay the activation? or delay the porting of the number? Just want to delay by a week?

  • How much is ETC?

    • -2

$0. Free $500gc. Tell the whole world please.

JB share holders won't be pleased. How much money they lost down the drain due to ozb posts.

      • +1

How so? It’s advertised as a 12 month contract. I signed up a few months ago and transferred without issue to the 50pm pre paid which does not have ETCs and had my ETCs waived for this deal/contract. People are saying that “loop-hole” is closed but I’d be wanting to see that some people have managed to do the same on this deal as I did a few months ago before proceeding with the expectation I’m going to get out of the contract.

        • I did it a couple of months ago too, but wondering if it still works now.

  • Anyone in Melbourne successfully grab this deal?

    • Getting it tonight, confirmed over the phone it's valid at Camberwell.

      • Thanks man. Might head there during lunch! Is it the full $500 GC or only $400?

        • Let me know how you go. I assume the one in The Well?

          • @sakurarar: Yep. Am there right now. Just confirmed with the guy and it's $500.. waiting for him to be done with his previous customer

Edit: just signed up. Be aware though that there is a slight delay with the gift cards as so many people are signing up for this offer. They keep your details on the system and will give you a call once the service order is complete, and then print off the gift card for you to come collect.

Just signed up at Bourke st

      • were there a crap ton of people getting this done at Bourke St? Looking to take my wife there to get her Voda number ported over.

        • Got there little past 12
          No wait

          • @csider: Great. Got the wife signed up too. Took about an hour for the port to go through (from Voda post paid).

    • Yep - JB Hifi Knox

      • awesome. yeah I managed to sign up at Camberwell yesterday during my lunch break and signed my wife up after work at Bourke St. I had a feeling it would be JB Hifi wide and not specific stores, but wanted to double check.

  • +2

I can confirm that this offer is also available at JB HIFI WETHERILL PARK

Also, what are people doing with their $500 jb hifi gift cards?

    • Video games. Next-generation consoles next year. Sell it to friends?

    • Ehhhhhhh WETHERILL PARK BOYS HI FI

  • A Note 10+ 256GB would cost $1000 (if you use the $500 Gift card)!

  • Just confirmed over the phone that it's valid at Camberwell in VIC.

  • Have you got confirmation they will throw in the extra $100 in a receipt?

Also has anyone tried Sydney CBD JB?

    • Yes, confirmed they have $500 bonus gc in Strand Arcade store but was told only for today

Edit: offer only for port-in numbers and not with Telstra in last 28 days

  • Anyone know if this sim can be used in a Telstra prepaid modem?

  • Does this plan have international calls at all?

  • So to clarify this, are you guys saying that if i signup today I’ll get $500 gift card but there is no early termination fee so I can go back to prepaid first then port out to other carriers in a few months?

    • Has anyone done this successfully?

      • +1

        No longer possible.

    • It is 12 months contract, so there is early termination fees if you sign up. Few months ago there was loophole that if you Chat online with Telstra they will move to another plan waive the early termination fees, but that loophole has been closed. So if you sign up, it is for 12 months

      • -1

        Is it really closed?

        • In saying that the early termination fee is 380…vs the 500 JB GC hmmm

  • any chance good guys or HN will match this?

  • +1

Effective cost $280 for one year ($23.33 per month)
Boost is still cheaper at $150 a year but for people who are happy with less data.

    • -4

Also note though Boost does not use Telstra's full 4GX speeds

    • Also Boost has international calls and texts

  • Can I get Port-In credit and make it $55/pm ?

    • No port in credit for this plan.

  • +1

Can confirm Elizabeth St - Melbourne

  • I'm a noob to all this - if I contact telstra do I have any luck getting roaming thrown in?

  • How long is the expiration on the gift cards? Might use them to but the pixel 4 coming out next month..

    • +2

      No expiry

  • Can confirm this works at JB hurstville. The lady there said it was for all JB and there doesn't seem to be any evidence against it so far.

  • I have just received my gift card.
I was originally Telstra, ported to optus, then went into the shop 30mins later after being with optus. The whole process from being with Telstra optus Telstra and collecting the gift card took about 1.5hrs.

This promotion should be at ALL JBHiFi
    They just dont/cant advertise it

Good luck if you plan on porting
    I think it's a great deal

    • exactly the same here. except for the first JB I went to said I needed to be out of Tesltra for 30 days minimum, the next didnt care.

    • Can I ask which JB you went to? Thank you

      • World square Sydney
Just ported out and back in on a 2nd number.

    • Ported out from Telstra last week and went to JB Wetherill Park the guy refused to sign me up and said has to be minimum 30 days.

  • Done, ported over no worries. $500 gift card in hand. Great deal!

    • Can I ask which JB you went to? Thanks

    • How long did it take for you to get your gift card?

      • I signed up, went away, came back once the Tesltra plan was active, and they confirmed and gave me the card.

        • great. I was told it'd take a while, but my service is now active so calling them to check if I can swing by to grab my gift card.

  • Thanks OP. Signed up in Cairns JBHIFI

  • I was on the JB $65 plan from an earlier deal, and moved to month-on-month $50 plan just about 3-4 days ago. What are my chances of getting through this $65 offer again if I ported out to Optus today and tried to sign up for Telstra again?

    • +1

Depends on the store - that's exactly what I just did.

      • Which store did you sign up at?

        • +1

          One in Brisbane.

    • +2

Should be a non-Telstra number for last 28 days, that's what I was told today in Sydney CBD store

  • Doing it at jb hifi perth (osborne park) right now

    • so hes done it but wont issue the gift card until optus confirm the port over so not really instant as im now ringing up optus to hurry it up

      • I had the same issue, heading back into the store tomorrow to collect the gift card, hopefully after the apple announcement has made some prices drop on older iphones.

      • +1

I’m sure ringing Optus will hurry the process along.

        • Still waiting - over 24hrs to port from Amaysim to Telstra. I have contacted both companies and Amaysim say there is no history of Telstra requesting the transfer.

  • So I got rejected because I ported out of Telstra last week. According to JB Hi-Fi team member at the Strand Arcade I have to wait at least one billing cycle (+/- 30 Days) to port back in. All my history was in front of them in the system. Bummer I guess!

    • What plan were you on? Also, wondering if one needs to have spent any amount of time or bill cycle to move out.
I have not been billed in the new plan yet.

Was your request rejected by Telstra or JB?

    • Same here. Ported out last week and can't sign back up for this deal.

    • +1

Did you get rejected by the Telstra system or JB employee? If its JB employee, I suggest you try another store(there are 5 JB hifi in Sydney CBD). Requirements to be 30 days away from Telstra is not implemented in the system, as long as the JB employee put in your order you should be fine.

This was based on my previous experience, I got rejected before and I just moved to other store to get the deal. Unless, they already implemented 30 days away policy in their system, which I really doubt they have.

      • I just tried the second store (Galleries Victoria). Still no luck. They won't do it because I have to wait 30 days (25 days at least)

        • I got mine from JB world square about a month ago, and I definitely haven't been away from Telstra for 25 days. It looks like someone got rejected from JB world square today though, maybe the policy has become more strict now.

  • Confirmed Deal - Westfeild Coomera - QLD. Took about an hour to port from Vodafone.

  • Does the trick with port in discount and reduce plan size afterwards still work?

    • Sure does! I managed to receive $10 off my monthly bill by speaking to their 24x7 chat on their website.

      • Tell me more…

        • +1

I told the online salesperson that I just ported over to a Telstra plan and heard that I'm able to receive a $10 port in discount off my monthly plan.

She asked for some details. Name, DOB, mobile number and where I signed up for the plan.

She did her thing and voila, the $10 discount will apply to my account every month until I change my plan.

I've read that it might not work so if it doesn't, try starting up a new live chat with someone else.

          • @MokuMoku: Did you do this today? I contacted them via chat and was told that the port in credit promo ended in June.
