Greetings everyone, just spotted this over at HUKD.

Instructions:

  1. Open the eBay app and log in to your eBay UK account.
  2. Go to the 3 lines at the top left and go to Settings.
  3. Go to Country/Region and change your country to UK
  4. Add item to cart and apply the coupon "PLAYAPP"

You will need to make a new account if you don't have an eBay UK account yet. And then put a UK address as your primary address when you sign up and change it to Australia afterwards to be able to add the gift cards to cart.

    make sure your uk ebay primary adress is same as paypal and region set to uk. If this still fail, then use a different ip. e.g if you are using wifi then switch to mobile data or vice versa

    Created 3 new eBay UK accounts (my last account was suspended after a similar 10% promotion).

    I received $900 worth of eBay GC's within 8 mins of the first order, but nothing yet for the 2 other orders which were placed shortly after the first. My PayPal account has been deducted so I have no idea what's going on.

    I have been fiddling with this for 3 hrs.. tried 3 new ebay uk accounts. new paypal accounts. with my android phone and my ipad. no luck

    the cart always shows can not be sent to your address. but it's a new uk account with a uk address. only the paypal account has AU address

    if I do buy it now, it would not pass paypal. after all the credentials checks on ebay still wouldn't budge. it shows "you need an ebay account and a paypal account for this purchase".

      To fix that problem, you need to change your delivery address on your eBay UK to your Australian address as PayPal Digital Gifts require an Australian address for purchases.

        Here is what i did

        1. use a computer to goto ebay.co.uk setup a new account with one uk address as primary and one au address as 2nd. open the link here so the account would leave a history (sorry i can find the exact item on the app. )

        2. goto ebay mobile app, login with the new account. the ebay digital card will be displayed in "your recently viewed items". click and order

        3. change the primary address to Australian

        4. apply code and pay with paypal

        5. the app returned from paypal and show "can't not process your payment, please check…" Tried CC with AMEX and Master no luck

          Just to add to @elvislj's steps, one additional step I did was go to Settings -> Country and unselect "Automatically detect". That way I can manually select UK as the country to make the deal valid, but set an Australian delivery address to make the product/delivery valid.

        I having the same problem. Primary address UK and shipping address AU. Was able to apply code, but can't pay. Get erroe message "can't process your payment please check details including billing address". Tried paypal and credit card. Not working. I did use AU address as billing address. What did I do wrong?

      I have tried the ultimate steps this morning using a vpn to UK, set up a UK paypal account.

      So everything is UK except the Australian delivery address

      the app just doesn't let me pass the payment..

    LOL it won't even give me a proper error. After applying voucher and press pay it's just a box with … and order did not go through. Tried both paypal and credit card.

    How do you open the link in the ebay app? or what key words to search in the app? I can view in a browser but since it has to be purchased via the app, I tried searching the exact words in the title but still couldn't find it.

      Use PC login and save them in Chat, and then use mobile to login in the app to check out with the code.

    Some tips that may help, worked for me when I kept getting errors (some may seem obvious/repeated above), but:

    1. Make sure you’re using the eBay app
    2. Use a UK eBay account
    3. Set an Australian postal address
    4. My old eBay uk account defaulted to Australia via “auto-detect” - manually change this back to UK.

    Code worked for Wish gift cards 👌🏼

    Error: To buy a gift card, you need an eBay and PayPal account - on desktop.
    The item can't be sent to your postage address - on app.
    I moved here from the UK so using the same account as I did back then with my old home address. WOndering if this is worth the extra 5% now.

    Edit: Changed my address to oz and now a new error: this code can't be applied to your order.

          Have you change your eBay app settings to UK?
          Under eBay app settings, choose Menu on top left corner > Settings. Turn off auto detect, and manually choose United Kingdom.

        In this case it is impossible because eBay Australia gift cards can be used only on eBay Australia.
        If I had ebay UK gift cards, I would give them a go.

      The answer is no, you can't use a gift card to pay for another gift card.

      Changed store to AU, looked up the item and visited the page, then switched back to UK and then it appears in the "recent items" list.

      EDIT: but what's the point though? There's a $6.95 fee making it only 3.05% off?

    No good. Went all the way to purchase, then copped this, which stopped the transaction.
    "Alert - To help protect your eBay account, we sometimes limit the amount of items that can be bid on or purchased by a single account. However, you may be able to increase the limit on your account by verifying some information about yourself."
