  • Has anyone had any difficulty cancelling the M2M plan?

Obviously switching to M2M is the second plan change in a short period of time, so unsure whether I should cancel altogether or switch to a prepaid option as previously stated.

    • wouldn't you just need to port out since it's non-contract?

      • +1

I was thinking the same thing, and then I assume I'd be charged prorata. But people have been switching to the 7 day prepaid option via live chat. So I guess I'm wondering if it's to confirm NO ETC on the M2M plan, or there's some other reason for it, rather than just porting out.

*Edit: Actually, it might be because under cancel plan it specifies "You will be charged $8.00 to take your mobile number to another provider."

So people are instead switching to prepaid, which makes sense.

  • +1

Managed to get a $10 credit onto the first 6 months' statements for the porting issues.

Can worry about downgrades later. :)

  • +1

managed to swap XL too couldn't justify paying extra $150 for 128G so ended up buying 64G. Good timing as I just finished my $49 pixel 2 deals from years back. I like using Pixel so I ended up getting it over Samsung.

Matt back finished on white and orange are so good to hold the phone. Don't even want to put a phone case now.

    • How did you manage to swap with XL?

      • Probably by just asking. JB is like Telstra chat, you get different answer from different salesperson

    • Yep, would like to know how to score the XL as well.

    • +1

oh I just asked my local store. doesn't have many options as we only have 2 JB in Hobart.

      • Was this before you had set everything up or after?

My local JB store says that it can't be done, because even tho it's considered an outright purchase, it's still tied to your Telstra contract.
I find that hard to believe. Can anyone chime in here if they know how this works?

  • Verified since thursday night and still waiting for port-in to be completed
    This is madness
Worst part is, all i want is to use the phone!!!

  • i think this deal has now been ozbargained, i had to pick up stock from a different store that i ordered from due to non availability, i even heard the staff telling the other staff to not sell any s10e stock period, all strictly left for the plan only. i think the only ones left will be the colored ones that no one wants. still worth it tho if you have not scored one already, the cancellation part is getting harder and harder as seen in the latest comments. still worth it even with cancellation fee on top..

  • any good phone cover? I like to use a clear case. i normally buy ringke for my phone case but they don't have a clear case for pixel 4 yet :(

    • I grabbed a clear Spigen. Always loved their cases, never had a problem with them and was glad to see they had a clear available.

      • how about screen protector?

    • The tech21 pureclear at jbhifi is pretty decent.

  • For those that were able to switch from the $65 to $50 plan - what kind of confirmation did you receive?

  • Picked up a black P4 today. Wanted white but no stock. Just swapped to m2m first go on live chat. Interestingly he said no ETC because I'm staying with Telstra. Happy days😁. This weekend I'll swap to Boost.

Edit: And claimed my free Google Nest Hub.

    • Are you kidding me!! I've tried 5 times without luck!

What was your strategy? What did you say and what M2M plan did you go onto? Did he mention ETC and say that he'd waive it?

      • I couldn't believe it either. Went through disconnections. Asked to swap to $50 month to month. Confirmed no ETC for swap to m2m. He said because I was staying with telstra. Email transcript saved.

        • Disconnections eh? I've been going through Mobile and tablet plans > Bill and plan enquires

        • Did he do it or give you a link for somewhere else?

    • Can you swap to boost?

      • +1

Yes, ask Boost for a blank simcard. Ask Telstra to change my number to orepaid. Call Boost when the change is completed then they will action the port.

        • Ah, ok so this is an official port out and in…

        • you have to change the number to prepaid from M2M?

        • I'm currently on m2m. How do I change it to prepaid?

  • +5

Just got my first bill for the $65 JB plan after swapping to month to month - $2.10 😅

    • Lucky bugger….

    • The first bill comes so fast?

      • Does the bill come through email?

        • +1

          Yep through email

    • how long since you changed to M2M till the bill comes?

  • where to find the inclusions for $65/pm plan?

  • +1

I signed up for the $500 gift card JB plan last week and ported in the other day.

I wasn't gonna rush to change to M2M but I contacted Live Chat to ask why my phone doesn't support VoLTE/WiFi Calling when it did at Optus. I was told that the JB Hifi plans don't support those features and they can switch me to the Telstra M2M plans which do have that, at no cost/ETC. I didn't even have to ask for it.

I have an Optus Huawei Mate 10 Pro and I don't actually think its compatible with Telstra VoLTE/WiFi Calling. I'm pretty sure the Pixel is so wondering if people have those features on the JB plans. If not maybe this information can help to switch to M2M Telstra plans.

    • Definitely has wifi calling. Pixel 4 on this JB deal

      • +1

        Yeah I thought it would.

I'm sure it's because my phone is Optus branded is why I can't. Cause now I'm on M2M I still can't get it

  • Guy, how good is the camera on the pixel 4/4 xl and is worth getting it over any of the other flagships in the same price range?
    Thanks.

    • +3

One of the best mobile cameras around.

  • +1

Under $4 for my first bill (charge was for: 1 day $65 JB, and 1 day $50 m2m). Thanks OP and everyone.

    • Have you ported out somewhere else already?

    • Hi is that because you have canceled your M2M that you have a bill already? I haven't got anything yet, but I have only gone as far as moving to the M2M so far.
And did you get emailed your bill?

      • Yeah cancelled my M2M. And yes got my bill via email

  • Changed first time via chat to $60 month to month. Fingers crossed for no ETC.
On the telstra track an order website https://ordertracker.telstra.com.au/, after inputting my order nuunber, the following comes up 😁

      -Add Modify Order Indicator
-Change JB Hi-Fi Mobile BYO Plan $65 12 Month

    • hey can you tell us which category you chose from teh menu dropdowns? ive tried 5 to no avail, ive done this for my self before and success on 1st try 3 days ago but as i imagine more and more people do it now its harder, i already tried 5 times and failed 'for a family member' so which category did you chat to?

      • took me 8 goes yesterday

      • Mobile & Tablet plans, Bill & Plan enquiries.

  • +1

M2M hack aside, anyone had any luck with asking and receiving any other discounts?

    • +2

Got a $10 a month credit for the first 6 months, owing to the port in stress. 60 bucks is a good gesture if looking to keep everything above board and use the offer as intended.

    • +2

Complained about port and got $10 knocked off $65 for the whole 12 months, I was considering the MTM thing but actually need the data due to home ADSL situation.
Sold the phone, so end up paying $13 pm for 60gb, plus the free buds. Can't complain! thanks Ozbargain

  • +3

ok finally it took me 15 tries to flip to m2m, damn this was tiring, when i done it for myself it only took 1 try.
    definitely deal of the year

    • What does your new order or plan change state !?

    • what did you change too? I've tried twice and already can't be bothered haha

      • i changed to m2m plan so i can cancel, i kept trying all the categories of the drop down menu until one accepted, also they can see who you talked to previously who told you no, so its a bit awkward, i can say the %99 percent of the live chat will reject it now that thousands of people have cancelled.

        • that's what i would have thought about the previous transcripts. I've tried putting it through myself and changing to the 80 plan - so will see what happens.

  • +1

My porting finally went through and I went and picked up the phone this morning. Claimed my nest hub, jumped on Telstra disconnections chat and changed to a month to month plan on 2nd attempt :D

    • So on chat you did Mobiles and tablet plans > disconnections? The rep I spoke to said that this is only used for disconnections and didn't do anything but mentioned the fees. What was your strategy/approach?

      • I had the same. A quote of $387.90 etc. I can't seem to get a break. 3 attempts. Should I just do it manually through my account?

        • keep trying, a few of us got it on our 8th attempt..

    • Do you have a Telstra account/made one when you did all this?

      • I already had a Telstra account for my existing service. I ported in a new SIM to get the deal.

  • +1

Looks like your plan for 04xxxxxxxx has expired
    Plan early termination charge $0.00
    Device buy out $0.00

Did this 10 Minutes ago in my 4th attempt. Thanks Mr FU-Shen

    • Link me to Mr.Fu!

  • Does this end today?

    • +1

From comments, the jb staff told us it would end on 6/11, not 100% sure tho.

    • +1

I was told it will end on 6 Nov.

    • i was told (12:49pm) that it ends today (sydney CBD strand arcade)

    • It ends today based on the catalogue

    • I was told last weekend that it lasts until 6/11.

      • Getting lots of conflicting reports lol

Edit: called local store. Today was last day :(

        • Yep, I just called my local store who advised the same - gotta get down there ASAP and grab another one for the wife!

          • @deaj: Which store was that? I confirmed yesterday that offer ends on 6/11 at Malaga Store. I am supposed to be porting another number over on Saturday.

    • The JB guy at my store looked up this offer on some intranet staff site thing and it said it finished on 30/10

  • +1

Moved to m2m $80 and then cancelled through agent. Order summary says a total of $20 odd dollars to be paid. $2.07 for moving to m2m and $18 for the running month.

No complaints, still an awesome deal.

    • Via chat or did you do it yourself online?

      • Did both via chat. Was ensured there was no ETC both times. I have other plans on my account, so it was a pain to make them focus on this one.

    • Don't you prepay the first month of the m2m?

      • I think the $18 odd dollars on my bill is because of that, yes.

  • I asked for a change to $50 m2m and the rep processed it as a new order (had to go through credit check again) but confirmed at the end that it would be a switch in plan and wont be a separate new order.

Can't see any changes in my contract details so far.. also the order tracking shows a status of 'in progress'

So not sure if I have crossed the line or not

    • +1

You will recieve an email saying your order is complete.

      • How long did it take to go from pending order to order is complete ?

        • +1

          mine was about 1-2 hours

        • +1

          Mine took almost 5-6 hours.

          • +1

@batrarobin: Thanks it's been 24 hours for me. They quoted 24-48 in the chat.
            MyTelstra still shows $65 plan

            • +1

@CanadaBoy: I did it today at mid day, still waiting for it to take effect

          • @batrarobin: Did you do it via chat? or directly from 'my account' section?
