    • You can get it on eBay for $128.49 if you are an eBay Plus Member, refer to description above

  • Just went to boost from Kogan.
Speedtest shows 150mb from partners Kogan while I'm doing 15mb on boost.
Dunno if cause my phone doesn't have band28.
    Sigh ..
anyone know if you can backout and get a refund somehow ?

  • Does anyone know the equivalent for existing Boost users i.e., for recharges.

  • I got a "Your order has been dispatched!" email from Boost this morning.

Clicking the "Track your delivery here" link sent me to the StarTrack tracking page which helpfully tells me that it's already been delivered and has been "Left in a safe place".

I get home and there's no sign of it anywhere. The obvious safe place for a SIM in an envelope is the (locked) letter box - but, that's just empty.

    StarTrack/AusPost strikes again!

    • Contacted StarTrack - about a day later they've said I need to contact "Telstra" (I guess they know Boost is part of Telsta) because

"As this is a Telstra delivery you are going o have to contact telstra and ask hem to lodge a request on your behalf for a delivery dispute."

Some of our clients have strict rules to follow regarding who can sign for freight and where.

So, I contacted Boost and they (eventually) said:

As per seeking an advice from one of our support, you will be needing to ask Startrack to note or waive the order, to credit it and for us to resend another sim as they have to process a note in order our ordering team to process and submit another sim to be delivered on your end.

Going around in circles here. All for the cost of a SIM. God know why Boost won't just send out another SIM - I could just go to Coles and buy one for $2.

      • yep, delivery can be so random it's often a better option to just go to the store. This deal though requires delivery.
The store has issues too though, in coles the purchase needs like three authorisations where staff just scan a magic bar code. Not sure what they're authorising because they dont look, inspect or check anything.

    • ordered the $135 sim never even attempted delivery got to a depot and got sent back to Telstra now getting the run around to get a refund

I decided to check at the local post office to see if it had been left there (that's happened before - where they never left a card).

The girl at the post office asked for my tracking number, and she could look up a photo of the delivery (apparently startrack take a photo of every delivery) - she showed me the photo and I could see the startrack bag partially sticking out of someone else's letterbox.

On the way home I decided to check the same street number on an adjacent street - and there it was! The people at that address must be away, as there was a fair amount of junk mail in there as well.

        • mine got sent back to the warehouse

  • Just FYI, the eBay link you posted has probably been updated because it's no longer free delivery. eBay Plus members still get $10 off though!

Postage: AU $3.49 Standard Delivery - Registered | See details

    • And I just realised it's currently out of stock anyway.

  • If I’m with Telstra do I need a blank sim or something first?
I remember reading something like that

    • If you're on post paid, call Telstra to switch you to prepaid on current sim and then call boost to switch it to the new sim

  • Officeworks still price matching today (over the phone - was surprised they are working the public holiday!). Got it for $128.25 delivered to home.

Thanks to those who posted this tip.

  • According to Boost rep today, any orders between 16th Jan to 27th Jan on this $135 deal are delayed on SIM delivery, as they have run out of stock in their warehouses!?

Ended up cancelling order, as the estimated wait time is 5-7 business days. Pretty disappointing there wasn't any communication on this and it took me 3 calls to their support to then eventually learn the truth about the delays!

    • Go to coles and scan a $2 SIM card and look up “Prepaid offers/services” and get a $150 Boost voucher today. The deal ends tonight

    • Thanks for that I've been waiting a week and just sent of an email. Was going to called them in the morning, would be faster to get it on ebay then directly from them.

  • Still no refund 2 weeks later did a charge back on credit card

  • Just ported across from last year's optus $120/60gb plan. Took several seconds. Very Painless. Thx guys

Had so much trouble with this deal… Kept getting told different messages. One chat assistant even ended the conversation when I said I was happy to wait to talk to their manager! Was told to go into a Telstra shop to sort it out but they just ignored me and said they couldn't help with boost.

Bought on 27 Jan and got 2 emails so far, saying "There are current disruptions to our delivery process. We’re working hard to iron these out and bring you the best possible service. During this time, you may experience delays of up to 15 days. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, but we’ll stay in touch and keep you posted on the progress of your order." How can they just run out of stock? Should you be selling based on your stock level? My current prepaid plan expiring in 17 days. If they are going to delay for another week. I am just going to cancel it and get a refund.

    • I called today and they said they were out of stock and that the typical wait will be 3-4 weeks.

      I ordered on 20th Jan.

      • Is there a Sim shortage from China or something? Tried to buy an optus Sim but they're delayed as well with no ETA of wait time….

I wish OzBargain would let me change my vote to a negative. All I can do is revoke my previous vote.

Boost customer support is a joke. Took 20 minutes on the phone, and in the end they told me I have 2 options:

    1. Continue waiting for back order with no ETA whatsoever
    2. Get a refund on my order

I complained how their website is still selling the SIM as if it is in stock, and the reply I got was that's handled by the online team and not the Customer care team. I asked them if they could just send me a $2 SIM and give me $150 credit. Again I was told no. I have to cancel the order myself and reorder online myself.

    • This is beyond a joke. I just tried cancelling the order and I get an email saying the order has progressed too far to be cancelled.

So it is not just me who didn't receive the sim card. I wish I can neg this deal.

Called them the 4th time today and they still claimed that they have lost my order number and request my bank statement…

  • Terrible. I ordered on Jan 22 and got an email 31/01 saying delayed but would arrive within 10 business days. 10 days passed and I called to be told there has been a problem with my order and it probably won’t get dispatched. I could wait 3 to 4 weeks and hope, or get a $2 sim and they would credit me a month until sim arrived….then the rep came back on phone to tell me actually they couldn’t offer me $2 sim. Then suggested cancel order and re-order. I said great - do it for $135. Spoke to supervisor - computer said no. WTF. All this took over 30 mins so I’m the meantime I purchased a starter kit for $135 from the ebay deal during the extended periods on hold. Told them to pls cancel order……this took 10 minutes.

This is just a total cluster by boost - how can they not have the kits in stock, and obviously something in their back end ordering system has gone very wrong and they have NFI how to handle it.

Just hope the ebay channel doesn’t have the same issue

    • Which eBay seller still had it for $135?

I see one for $139 but the seller doesn't look legit (rating of 14)

    • I called boost today as I have been waiting since t 20 Jan.

They advised me to purchase a $2 Sim and $130 recharge then they would refund the original purchase and activate the $150 plan for me.

Did this and ported over in about 1 hour.

      • They initially offered me this but then said it wouldn’t work as I am a new customer. Who knows if true or not…

        • I did it and I was a new Customer.

How did you go with the refund? They 'initiated' the refund for me online, but got an email a couple of hours later saying it cannot be completed because I'm too far into the order process… WTF?

          • @aaronaldo: I didn’t get that email but having said that they did say it would take up to 10 business days to process. I assume they have a lot of refunds to process after this debarcle

  • Ordered on 24 Jan, over three weeks ago, no sim card. No updates either bar one email saying it's delayed.
Had to chase them up for them to tell me there's a back log of orders for weeks.

I just requested a refund. Hopefully won't have to chase them up for this as well.

  • I received one of 4 sims. After chasing therremaining ones for 3 weeks and getting nowhere I asked PayPal for a refund and they refunded by the end of the day. So for everyone having problems, I suggest asking for refund from PayPal or your credit card provider rather than dealing with boost

    • Weird. I raised a Paypal request for refund and they said I have to wait 5 days for Telstra to reply before stepping in. How did you manage to get a refund within a day?

      • +1

I also got a message from PayPal saying that they've contacted Telstra for more info, and by the end of the day I got the refund. I then purchases 3 more a packages on ebay which worked a lot more smoothly than going directly through Boost.

For history sake we bought this deal and cancelled it today (thankfully this was purchased via PayPal) after a long ordeal of not receiving a sim for over a month with little to no communication from Boost and the call center not being equipped with the skills or knowledge to deal with fairly simple inquiries. The call center was unable to tell us if the SIM had even been shipped or was still on back order and apparently had no access to this information and could only say that someone would get back to us in 4 - 10 days. I understand there are some ongoing delivery issues with goods coming from China but companies should not be keeping quiet and should not still be selling goods and services if they are not able to supply within a reasonable time frame. Please also note that the 125 8881 number appears to no longer be in service.

    • Did you get a refund? I bought back in Jan and they kept promising a refund but never did. They kept telling me to wait.
Finally PayPal stepped in and honoured the refund.
I had all the chat transcripts with boost promising the refund.

    • I'm in the same boat. Finally did a charge back. The next Monday it still came in the post. Contacted support offering to return the SIM. They said they'll send a reply paid envelope. It's been 2 weeks and still nothing. I'd say I've spent enough time trying to resolve their problem. Free $150 SIM!
