      • that's what I did , nearly success as the dude in aisle said it's ok but the cashier lady stopped me saying the register pop up says DO NOT PRICE MATCH TGG

        • This happened in the morning or u visited office work to pickup order?

  • +2

Guess it's only one voucher per email.. Dagnabbit!

    • did you buy more than 1 and only get 1 voucher?

      • Yes, two seperate transactions from my ebay account

  • It will be great to see TGG eBay feedback next week…

  • +4

I got the shipping notice and now the tracking number , I'm in Melbourne and TGG sent it from Geraldton WA !

I also got the 20 dollars store credit …

    Maybe got lucky this time

    • Did you buy from the TGG website?

      • Yes around 7am

    • +1

Exactly the same as me! By any chance did you pay via LatitudePay? I did and I was thinking maybe they didn't want to go through the hassle of issuing a refund through an external party.

Edit: I bought mine directly from TGG website.. $129 + $8 shipping, but 2.5% from ShopBack :) Fingers crossed it arrives for both of us mate.

      • +1

I got the same but I ordered through their website with PayPal.

      • +1

        I paid via PayPal

        • Let's hope the warehouse guys in WA didn't get the message in time then haha.. Good luck guys

    • +1

Same here also! Ordered in Brisbane which funnily enough is actually the furthest place geographically from Geraldton WA as you can get within Australia. I like to think the folks at TGG Geraldton don't much like taking orders from those city slickers down in 'Head Office'.

  • +3

I might get some batteries with the $20, and reminisce about the free battery I got each month as a member of the Tandy Battery Club in the 1980s.

  • +5

I drove 30 minutes each way to pick up my hub max after TGG said it was ready to collect.

They didn't let me collect it. Someone's head has to roll.

    • +1

Was he by any chance called Ned Stark?

  • +1

I wonder how Google feels about them falsely advertising their products?

  • +1

Cached version of the deal still up on The Good Guys website. Anyone know if any other retailers price match in Australia?

    • +1

the problem is that other retailers will want to access it themselves on their device, so won't get the cached version

      • -4

        Unless you email link

  • +1

Has anyone else who ordered on eBay received an email about the cancellation + $20 voucher?

    • Ordered on eBay. No emails from GG yet.

      • Just got my email.

    • +1

i ordered via eBay at 1:25am, and got my email with $20 voucher at 4:01pm

      • Ordered on eBay at 2.47am for C&C and have not received an email

        • Have they cancelled the ebay purchases? Or issued refund?

        • +1

I'm in similar boat , ordered around same time for delivery, didn't get any email yet

    • Positive!

  • +1

I must have really messed up my email. I ordered at 5 last night and haven't gotten a single confirmation, cancellation, or any email of any kind from Good Guys. I didn't mess up my credit card though, they charged that…

  • +1

Purchased last night 12 am AWST, payment charged on PayPal, the store told me order will be cancelled, still waiting for an email from TGG…

    • +1

      same here.

      • Received the email and $20 voucher

  • +1

I picked up two at 9am from my local store :-) so glade I did!

    • I stayed up and then contemplated for 2 hours whether I should get another one and then I woke up at 10am… had a meeting and then went to pick it up at 1pm…. death of me.

  • +8

Does anyone have a screenshot from the catalogue with the valid date on the bottom e.g. "Offer valid Thu 30 Apr - Wed 6 May 2020 » Terms and Conditions"

Going to make an ACCC complaint, this is the 4th time it has happened to me with them.

      • +14

you mean the 4th time the good guys failed to proofread their catalogue and expect to get away with it?

        • -3

What do you expect ACCC to do though?

          • @John Kimble: me? nothing.

only work for the pollies - not for aussies…

          • +1

@John Kimble: honour it. I had a clearance item at bunnings, the lady serving me wouldn't sell me all of them because some of them, they can repiece full sets and resell them. I'm like wtf.

          • +2

@John Kimble: You don't print a catalog and update a website by accident. Website, temp error … maybe. But a catalog is weeks in advance media prep and printing.

            • -2

              @Rumbaar: Shit happens.

I'm 99.99% sure it wasn't intentional, would be completely illogical to do it intentionally given the negative sentiment its created in some people and extra work for them to rectify with apologies, refunds and credits. They can't even get those right; the dates are messed up apparently. Someone who successfully got one this morning said they ALSO got a cancellation email and a $20 credit. Is that also part of their grand plan?

What is their motive? A "cash injection" (for a few business days)? Trick people into buying more in their store when offering a $20 credit? Really poor business strategy and unlikely if you ask me.

Simplest explanation is often the correct one. They accidentally priced it as the non Max version and it was not picked up at all. Incompetent? Sure. Negligent given their track record? Maybe. But they're only hurting themselves (and maybe OW and JB because they price matched/beat).

              • -1

@John Kimble: @johnkimble are you a Trump supporter? I mean he does a lot of things 99.99% unintentionally too.

                • @nzthunderboy: No I'm not. Just disagreeing this was intentional by TGG…that's all tin hat and conspiracy talk.

You're comparing TGG to Trump? 🤔 Okie dokie…

    • -2

I know how to prevent a 5th time happening for you… Send me your $20 credit code for the solution…

    • Yes…

    • +2

I still had a tab up from last night, heres the full page with date at the bottom:

Jacksons 8 way power board on Clearance, $20. Might benefit some with voucher. https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/jackson-8-way-surge-protectio… .

    • +3

Just be cautious because the two of these I have purchased previously, the switches give out within a year (usually only one turn on/off cycle per day too).

    • Perfect, chur!

  • +4
    • are they any good?

  • Thought i didn't get the canxel email or the voucher. Email was in my spam/junk folder

  • +2

I've spent $21 worth of my time today reading comments about the $20 credit coupon I will hopefully receive… :(
    Rookie error!

  • They just cancelled my order and offered a $20 voucher that expires on 10th May

    • I havnt received an email yet. Does that mean they might honour it or they ran out of vouchers for the month and waiting for next month?

P.s. I bought it at 5:34 am off their website for delivery in victoria. However it was allocated to a shop in QLD for some reason.

  • Turns out the cancellation email went into the "Promotions" section of my gmail account..

  • Do the vouchers stack if I were to buy them off people who won't use them?

    • Yes they stack.

  • +1

Nice little cash flow boost at the end of the month for the Good Guys. What a racket

  • +2

I had it pricematched at Officeworks this morning. Yes, the dude did double check with TGG website despite me producing the printout of the screenshot I took this morning.

I didn't go with TGG Ebay and online store due to delivery cost and there was no click and collect at the time. It was $122.55

    • they probably hid all the hub maxs in the back after that

      • That’s exactly what 2 OW stores I visited yesterday did. Returned to both stores this morning to find 20+ back on display. Pretty scummy tactics all round really.

  • +3

Tried to use my voucher but they said it wouldn't work because the start date is tomorrow….. What a waste of time. Why give out a $20 voucher and not have it activated already. Load of ****

    • +2

You are lucky. Mine expires 3yrs and 3 months before the start date. My start date isn’t till sept 2023.

      • +2

Haha that's ridiculous. The lady behind the counter tried telling me that it was a fraudulent email when it wasn't scanning/ working in their system. I was like um pardon?

        • not loaded on the system yet

      • did your google send you back in time

      • +1

        Start Date: 02-07-2023
        End Date: 10-05-2020

That was my start date too, but it worked!

        • sounds like they using the same system for dates as they using for pricing

    • +1

Mine just worked, got a 32gb microsd delivered free.

Used the "gift card/store credit" option (not "promo code"), also entered the 4 digit PIN from the email.

  • +10

Thats is strange i just got an email at 4pm that my order is cancelled and they refunding my order amount and given me a $20 credit even tho I have already picked it up

    • Free item and money for you then

      • +1

        You the chosen one

      • +6

I wont cash in the credit it just feels wrong to use it when i got the item

        • send your credit my way then :)

        • -6

I ordered 6x and was cancelled maybe you can transfer it to me then.

        • Don't feel bad, they made errors and tried to get away with it with flimsy $20 vouchers that expire in 10 days.

        • +3

Maybe use the $20 on some item that you could donate to some charity?

    • That's promising. Maybe mine might come..

    • +4

This happened to me with the UE Boom deal 3 years ago. Win some, you lose some - but you gotta play the game. My Max did not get honoured.

    • +1

Something similar happened to me a few years ago with Amazon-UK (OZB referred), $1k order of HDD's were cancelled/refunded even though they had started shipping, was assured by multiple reps that shipping had been stopped but they still turned up a week later and no-one ever asked for the funds back.

  • I bought two in two transaction. I got one email saying that it was a price error and they won't honour it. Maybe the second one they will…

    • When did you buy it?

  • +3

Can't really complain, ended up with a free 32GB microSD card delivered to my door.

  • +1

Hmmm no cancellation email for me yet.

  • You guys who bought from eBay did you get voucher

    • Yup

    • Yes. I did.

    • no.

    • Yeah got my cancellation/voucher email ~4pm. Ordered bout thirty minutes after deal was posted

    • didn't receive any email in both my email and ebay

  • Bugger. I forgot to use Cashrewards nor Shopback.. :(

    • Why would they honour that if they are not honouring the price error?

Unless they do it accidentally 😂

  • Any good items to buy with the $20 voucher?
