      • Thanks. Did you use your telstra login to log into Binge on Apple TV?

        • No, whilst you sign in via Telstra to get the offer you create a Binge account.

    • Does anyone know if you sign up through Telstra you need to watch it through Telstra TV or can you use another device as wondering if you need to sign in with Binge account or Telstra account?

You don't sign in with your Telstra ID even if you sign up via Telstra. You use your Binge logon and you can use any device to watch.

  • I was just about to post this on Ozbargain but you beat me to it! Good deal :)

  • +1

Thanks for this! Just got 9 months free. Can finally watch Chernobyl.

  • Thank you OP, great deal.

  • Another sneaky way to Fox to get your money.
If its affiliated with Kayo which it looks to be, its just Fox making money via streaming to make up for losses with Foxtel.
Because Kayo is Fox Sports Australia's Streaming business

    • +2

Not a good start offering everyone free access. Their service is quite lackluster based on a brief look. No 4k or the ability to download to watch offline later.

      • “Free”

    • sO sNeaKy

  • Binge has great HBO stuff like Watchmen. Pity no subtitles like Netflix or Amazon.

  • +3

Any way around using the code without being a telstra customer?

  • +3

trying to cancel as soon as i sign up, but got the error

Cancel subscription failed: [Since the subscription has not yet been invoiced, you cannot use the 'EndOfLastInvoicePeriod' cancellation policy.]

  • Only supports android tv (some), Telstra tv and apple tv (some)… Oh and chromsecast. Can't see this taking off unless they get some more platforms up and running really quick.

    • -1

Works in Android phone for me

      • Of course it does. But how many TV's run on Android phone? And I did say chromsecast. That implies you can cast from your phone.

        • +1

Curious as to what other platforms you would like to see it working with, only other one I can think of are Smart TVs?

    • and you can airplay directly to some tvs, and always to any AppleTV via airplay (if say you have an appletv 2/3 which doesn't have the app).

  • +4

Thanks OP and maolin95, 12 months code worked on standard Telstra account. Time to watch…!

  • +5

Thanks OP, been looking to watch the rest of The Americans. I've managed to redeem this on my $5/month 5Gb sim only data plan. Great value!

    • How did you get it? When I click that link it only shows me offers for box office, foxtelnow and some sports thing

      Edit:now worked

      • +1

I logged in using the link on this post. It gave me the option to redeem it next to the option to redeem Foxtel Now.

        • +1

Yep it worked for me after refreshing. Worked well in SD with standard audio at slowed 1.5Mbps speed. Great bargain for $5 per month

    • awesome!
how many months could you get?

  • My $10/mth post paid plan continues to pay for itself….would you like to upgrade sir? Nope, i use boost in my actual phone.

    • Didn't work for my Boost account

      • I have $10 Telstra post paid…which i don't use…and they keep trying to get me to upgrade. It's purely for things like this, and other Telstra perks

        • awesome!

what are some other Telstra perks? might consider it myself.

        • Is That a very old plan?

          • @corky: Yep. It was a staff/family & friends plan advertised on here a few years ago.

  • +4

As per maolin95's comment above, incase you missed it…If you're just a basic Telstra Plus member eligible for only 3 or 6 months, when you go to redeem on the Binge website, click the option to remove the voucher and re-add BGETLSLG12ONUS and you will get 12 months instead!

  • +1

So we can cancel and keep benefits for entire 6/12 months?

    • Following comment

      • +3

if you cancel now, it ends in a month's time. set a reminder for June 2021 and cancel then.

How i know? I tried to cancel but also able to reactivate.

        • Thanks for sharing this info!

        • Cheers.

          • @Destin: Send an email to yourself to cancel on June 30, 2021

            https://www.futureme.org/

            • @OzCheapo: I've got it in my calendar with a reminder but I didn't know about this site. Cheers for the heads up.

            • @OzCheapo: that's a good idea.

alternatively, I often send myself an email in Gmail then click Snooze until a certain date.
There is a chance that an external email provider might bounce.

  • Anyone getting a spinning wheel after they click start subscription? ive tried 2 browsers ad 2 laptops and im still stuck with a spinning wheel when i try and click on the final step

    • +3

Managed to get it to work by hanging to "pay with telstra" as apposed to a credit card

      • This worked for me. Ta

      • Thank you!

  • I have two 12 month ones on my account, one for each post-paid mobile. Wonder if they stack? Or if I can give one to someone else?

    • It's using the same system as Kayo, so no.
One time redemption per account per voucher.
If the vouchers were unique, then they'd most likely stack.

  • Where or when do you enter the code BGETLSLG12ONUS when subscribing. Never mind Got it thanks.

  • I'm no longer a Telstra customer but still have an account. what would be the cheapest and easiest way to get it?

  • can i cancel as soon as i sign up, so i dont forget in a year?

    thanks OP

  • +3

anyone having a issue logging in with telstra id then when sent verification code it says this phone number is linked to a "streamotion account" please log in, then when you log with that email it says it's only available for telstra accounts, anyway around this?

    • Having the same issue! Did you manage to get around it?

      • No went from bad to worse lol.. any phone number I’ve used on Kayo is coming up linked as steamotion bs, yet I’ve never used my Telstra I’d to sign up with Kayo, tried a new number still didn’t work, now my voucher under Telstra offers has disappeared lol, went on chat says support busy request a email back.. waiting game Now

  • thanks 12 months!

  • Nice! Thanks!

  • how about for bigpond or foxtel customers?

  • +1

Got 12 months when only eligible for 6.

    • +2

Got 12 when only eligible for 3

  • +3

Am on Telstra postpaid and says Sorry
There were no offers associated with your Telstra ID.

    • Same :(

      • Turns out you have to login with Telstra ID and then I get the offer! Automatic sign in doesn't cut it.

  • I am a telstra post-paid customer although don't have binge in my offers sadly. For some reason I got set up as a business customer and probably the reason. Oh well.

    • +2

When you login the offer won't appear.. after you login just Goto www.binge.com.au and enter the code. Seemed to work for me even though the offer didn't appear at first

      • +2

Sadly still no love for my account. I add in the code, it is accepted then I get a message from binge saying

"This offer can only be redeemed by eligible Telstra customers through an active Telstra account or on an eligible Telstra TV."

Then I try and log in and Telstra give me the below.

"There were no offers associated with your Telstra ID.

Please ensure you have an eligible service linked to your Telstra ID via Telstra 24x7 MyAccount under account settings.
Once you have added a service to your Telstra ID, please login again.."

Shame although thats life, good bargain for those that can get it!

  • Did anyone notice that the subscription end date on your Telstra account is still correct even if you use the gold member voucher? e.g. if you're eligible for 6 months then the end date will be in 6 months time on your Telstra account (under manage subscriptions in my offers) but your Binge TV account will show 12 months. I wonder if we'll be charged after the end date on the Telstra account (6 months) given that everyone has selected "pay with Telstra".

    • Hoping that since it's Binge that's doing the billing theirs would be considered the source of truth. We'll see in 6 months, LOL.

      • I too doubted it. So, I entered my CC details instead of opting for pay through Telstra.

  • Cancel subscription failed: [Since the subscription has not yet been invoiced, you cannot use the 'EndOfLastInvoicePeriod' cancellation policy.]

    • +1

Your subscription will be processed tomorrow, on the 2nd of July.
This is why you are experiencing issues cancelling your account.

That was the reply i got

    • Getting that too.

  • +1

Cancel subscription failed: [Since the subscription has not yet been invoiced, you cannot use the 'EndOfLastInvoicePeriod' cancellation policy.]

Are they implying that they will bill me for 1 month before I can cancel my free subscription?

    • +1

See my reply above, told to try it again tomorrow

  • +5

Yay. Got 12 months on my $5 a month 5GB plan.

    • +3

With Cash Rewards, technically it is $1.25 per month :)

    • Which plan is this??

    • How did you receive text message for confirmation on the data plan?

      • You can enter a different phone number when signing up for binge

        • And it still links to Original number?
          Cool. Thanks.

    • how many screens per account?
Happy to chip in $ for access for the year.

  • When i ported out my number after the 12 months contract finished a few days ago (with free TV from JB 😀) Telstra quickly cancelled my account. I m still able login to telstra plus, and my point still showing there. But can't use. But seems like i can redeem points still.

  • Anyone tried with prepaid?

Might grab a $2 sim and add it to my old Telstra account and give it a shot.

  • Is Telstra likely to pull this voucher before the advertised claim by 18 January 2021? I'm well stocked for streaming services right now and probably won't utilise it to its full advantage till a few months….

    • +1

That's the $14/month question. My guess: very unlikely Teltra will pull it, they usually stick to their offers.

I'll probably wait until my free 3-month Stan offer from Telstra expires before taking up this one. Or maybe when my free two-month Prime offer expires, or … it's a great time to be a couch potato.

      • +1

If you didn't get the 12-month offer, they may plug the loophole that lets you use the voucher manually if you're not eligible though?

        • Of course! I get ya, yeah, sign up now.

        • How do you force the 12 month offer? I'm only getting 3

  • Subscribed, Thank you.

  • Sweet 6 months free. Thanks OP!

  • Barely working for me… just a wheel spin when trying to click sign up

    • Try Chrome.
      Doesn't work on Firefox

    • +1

Try to be billed by telstra

    • Worked for me on Chrome on Android with pay by card

    • +1

Same thing happened to me - change to bill by telstra and not CC and it goes through

  • +1

Thanks OP. Did the voucher code trick to get 12 months, then cancelled the subscription to make sure I don't get charged in a year. Also, yes cancelling the subscription still allows you to access binge until that end date.

    • +1

Are you sure? Because i cancelled and revert to 1 month. But i was able to reactivate after cancelling
