      • My bad, I just checked and it's only giving me 1 month now. I've just reactivated it and it's given me back the 12 months. Will have to set some reminders for just under a years time to make sure I cancel the subscription.

  • 12 months trial - winning ! thanks

  • A few questions if anyone can answer:

    1. How many devices can you install Binge on? Is there a limit like the Foxtel Go app (5 max)? Does the two screen limit apply to devices or IP addresses, i.e can it play at two different premises at the same time?

    2. How does this compare to a Foxtel subscription? No live channels or sport, but does this include on-demand content from the basic pack or from a full subscription?

For those keen, Matt Huisman has created a Binge Kodi add-on, that also provides a full grid guide / EPG:

      Absolute legend, thank you!

  • Thanks OP. 6 Months added. Let's see how much I actually end up using it!

  • So because I have an independent Kayo account that isn't connected to my Telstra account, Binge is rejecting the code and now I'm trying to access support who aren't responding :S

    • It doesn't reject it for me, it just asks me to login.

      • It didn't tell me to login with Kayo credentials - I use a different emaiol for each service - so I think their system can't handle it

  • Do you login to Binge with your Telstra account email and password?

  • We have the Foxtel platinum package and aside from sport and the occasional doco, I am not getting value out of it. I can’t say there are many movies around in the past year that grab me either.

Just looking at the Binge offering, it is really no different from Foxtel/Stan etc… so it seems like just find the cheapest.

The only advantage I can see from our Foxtel is the IQ lets us record FTA (when the IQ is not re-setting itself)

Even Amazon Prime is a disappointment. Quite a few of the shows they promote are not available in Oz. Bosch S6 is “on Prime” but not here - it is/was on SBS OnDemand! A few new movies are being promoted for Prime…. but not available here! 7500 is one.

BTW - I have seen some comments about Binge being available on Apple TV - I have an old ATV and can’t see it. Is it only on the latest ATV?

I ended up going for a $289 fetch mighty from eBay ("refurbished" but from all accounts I'm pretty sure they are brand new, they look like it and come with full warranty anyway).

So the fetch box along with their $20 channel package (some pretty good doco channels on fetch) and kayo on my Samsung smart tv gives me a pretty great experience.

      • Looks interesting - can you add other apps - eg Prime?

Sadly my main Samsung TV is a few years old and has limited apps.

    • Binge visual quality is terrible. The HBO stuff looks pretty bad. If you read about it on WP you'll see people say it is mostly due to poor encoding on Binge's part. But if you are getting it for free through this deal can't complain.

But people wanting it as a Foxtel replacement might be upset if they cancel Foxtel first. The video quality on Foxtel is better and you do get all the shows (only "most" are on Binge), but is it worth the extra dollars? Guess it depends…

  • Tried earlier and the offer didn't appear on my telstra account, but now it's working.

  • Playback not working on Pixel 3XL. Am on Dev preview firmware so I'll take it with a grain of salt.

Any Pixel users having issues watching content?

  • Worked for 12 months. Excellent.

    • Check next post

Note to others who used the 12 month code - I'm a Silver member and used the 12 month code to subscribe.

When I go to "Manage Subscriptions" in the Telstra hub, it shows the end date as 1 April 2021 (so only 9 months). Will make sure I cancel before then!

    • Same boat, same result. Good pick up

    • You could change your payment method to be a credit card, dunno if that will influence anything.

I clicked cancel in the Telstra Hub and it didn't change anything on the Binge end. I think it just removes the permission for Binge to bill your Telstra account.

      • I used my credit card as payment so surely that doesn't apply to me.

I would assume my subscription still lasts until june 30th 2021

    • Hopefully the Binge side of it takes precedence as it still says it ends on 1/07/2021 for me, I'll take my chances lol. Worst case I pay an extra $14 in April.

    • mine worked fine despite being only a silver tier member who is supposed to get only 9 months

      https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/355451/81013/binge.jpg

  • Can I unsubscribe now but my membership is still active or will I need to set a reminder up for the middle of next year?

  • Anyone get a working app for FireTV?

  • Thanks OP!

  • Has anyone got it working on a Telstra corporate plan (ie no Telstra id)?

  • +1

Damn.. no binge app on LG content!!
    =(

Is there any way to get it working?

    • Works with chromecast

Great for watching Chernobyl. Top show

Got the 12 month free trial however after having a quick browse through the content cant see myself even using this during the trial period.

  • Anyone had any luck using Telstra Prepaid?

  • Thanks op got 12 instead of 6 :)

  • +3

Make sure you send an email to [email protected] to unsubscribe from all the marketing stuff that floods in after sign up.

  • This is a fantastic deal.

  • +1

No idea if I'll use this or even what it is, but of course I signed up!

  • Thanks OP.

  • Cheers OP! Took a bit of fiddling with the account details because of previous Kayo acc but signed up for 12 months free

    • So the Kayo account doesn't affect it? I just tried and it kicked me off.

  • Nice find OP!

Thanks for this. Cancellation diarised for next month when my telstra bill flips over.

  • ILOVEYOU OP

  • Worked perfect, thanks OP

  • Thanks OP

OK, so now I have a Binge subscription (thanks OP). Question is how do I watch this on TV via the Nvidia Shield Box? Is there an android Binge app?

  • I wonder how this works if your post-paid contract ends before the trial. Do they keep your Telstra account open? Is it an entirely separate agreement? Trying to work out if it is worth the hassle, or whether most of this content is available through my Prime Video subscription.

  • Incredible find, thanks OP!

  • +3

Awesome! Got the $5 per month click frenzy data plan, got the cashback recognised (now works out to $1.25 per month), now 12 months of Binge for free? It's the gift that keeps on giving!

  • After I was already logged in it worked, it took me to the 6-month redeem page, in the browser address the old code was able to be swapped with BGETLSLG12ONUS

Swapping the code in the address allowed me to add 12-months to my active Binge account.

    • +1

Wait… do you mean, you changed from 6 months to 12 months. Or did you ADD 12 months… i.e. increased to 18 months

      • +1

        Change from 6 to 12.

        • +1

Thanks Mr Miyagi! Code on… Code off

  • To cancel subscription once confirmed by email:
    Go to Telstra Hub, Login
Scroll down to Manage Subscriptions > Click on Manage >
Cancel anytime before your end date to avoid any subscription charges.

(Mine still comes up as 9 months free, despite changing code to 12 months, so worthwhile checking)…

    • I'm the same

EDIT: however on the binge website it shows one year. Think it will rely on BINGE as that is the actual service provider.

  • Thanks Jordan I got 12 months free :)

  • Cheers OP and thanks Telstra ya beaut! :)

Also thought I mention that Telstra TV has the Binge app on there.

  • Thanks OP now working on my FireTV :)

  • Trying to activate on Apple TV and http://auth.streammotion.com.au/activate is down. I think Ozbargain broke Binge

    • Took me a few goes to get it too. Eventually worked.

    • +1

There is only 1 'm' in streamotion.

  • Thank you so much OP. Just signed up

  • Hi, thanks to OP.

I had some problems accessing offer as I previously trialled Binge via Apple. I wrote to Binge Customer service and got it sorted. Cheers.

  • Can you install Binge on VTV?

    • Yes

      • Thanks. Assuming you need to sideload? Any idea where to get the apk from?

        • I searched it via Google Play Store, for some reason I had to scroll for a bit before it came up, but it's there

  • Signed up for 12 months though was eligible for only 9. :D

    • How?

      • replace the code with BGETLSLG12ONUS

  • Thanks ! Just got 6 months free.

  • +1

Does this work with Business Accounts as I just get There were no offers associated with your Telstra ID. message

    • +1

I’m also trying to figure this out. I get offers for box office and AFL/NRL but no binge

    • Doesn't look like it.

As per usual those spending the most get the least :)

  • Anyone received an email notification advising 'There’s been a problem processing your Binge subscription payment via Pay with Telstra'?

I'm not seeing any obvious mistakes on my behalf, and I'm not overly keen on chasing up Telstra for a freebie.

    • just received the same email too……

    • yep I got the same email. I just added my credit card instead of using Telstra billing.

    • Yep, got the same

    • Yes got that email as well. Wonder if they have cottoned on as more recent attempts look to be having issues using the code.

I wonder if they have cancelled the Telstra payment method so if you sub in a credit card to fix this it will revert to usual membership meaning you will get charged on monthly basis?

  • Thanks - was already eligible for 12 months so signed up. The app isn’t on TVs I have so not sure what use I will get…

    • It is on Android TV so you need to expect that if you buy a "Smart TV" it is only going to ever support Netflix and YouTube

  • Thank you! was only given the 9 months free but the code for the 12 months worked when i applied it instead :) :)

  • No offer for me, I'm logged in, a plus member, post paid for the last 18 months, it just redirects to https://hub.telstra.com.au/offers.html?device=desktop#/offer… where there is no Binge offer except for the blurb under "Things you need to know" referring to it but http://hub.telstra.com.au/BINGE loops back to the previous link. Sounds like I'm not missing anything anyway.

    • I'm in the same boat

  • Are their Binge apps available for Android TV and Samsung TV?

  • Thanks for this.

It wouldn't let me start the sub with the existing payment details for Kayo - it would just keep loading and go nowhere when I clicked start subscription. I had to change it to pay via Teltra.

    • I did the same, expect to get an email from them saying you cant pay your kayo using telstra pay and will need to update your details

    • The same was happening to me.
Just selected update my payment details and used the same card, then it worked.

  • Thanks so much for this post. Got 12 months instead of 9. Now I can watch the rest of McMillions!

  • Awesome. Thanks OP.

  • +1
