OMG Finally 1 review. RTINGS should have 1 out very soon because they got theirs last week. So far this monitor lookin really good. Not sure what the Freesync Premium Pro is though, arent all freesync just freesync like gsync is gsync.

      • FreeSync Premium and FreeSync Premium Pro are AMD display certifications, similar to G-SYNC Compatible and G-SYNC Ultimate in some ways.

In AMD's own words, FreeSync Premium Pro displays are certified for:
        * At least 120 Hz refresh rate at a minimum of FHD resolution
        * Support for low framerate compensation (LFC)
        * Low latency in both SDR and HDR modes
        * Support for HDR with meticulous colour and luminance certification

Games can also go through the FreeSync Premium Pro certification process which apparently tests things like luminance accuracy and wide colour gamut support.

      • Basically, FreeSync Premium Pro means it has official support for FreeSync when HDR is enabled. However, as mentioned in the review, it isn't really a proper HDR (with both the brightness and contrast ratio below the official quoted specs - so while it claims to be HDR400, in reality, it really isn't - not that HDR400 is actually any good - it is fake HDR to be honest).

It is pretty much a re-tuned LG panel with newer firmware and better software.

The RTINGS review should be out before most people receive their units.

    • +2

It will be worth the wait.

    • +1

Very happy to have bought it just over $500.

The LG costs around $760 - $800 and mostly sold out. I feel this Dell monitor is worth the same if not slightly more.

  • Is it possible to still get this deal? It seems it has been taken off the Dell Australia site.

    • +1

Think broden may have one…or two for you to purchase…

      • There been a member for under 2hrs 🤣 they be Googling Borden now

    • Yes - impossible.

It is no longer possible to get that deal from the AUS Dell site. It has even been removed to stop anyone trying to order it as you will currently experience massive wait times behind others that already got this deal. It makes sense, imagine ordering one for full price and then getting the expected delivery time of Nov/Dec. They will probably add it back once the backlog of orders get fulfilled.

Dell US site currently has it up for just under $600 ($429 US) on special right now.

One of the Dell associate posted that they would have limited stock available for Ozbargainers once they have fulfilled the current backlog.

      • Awesome, how will we know when this will be? And how would we order one?

      • I'll probably wait for that sale to be honest.. I regret only buying one at the time based on current feedback from some Ozb users.
Dell told me that mine would be fulfilled by end of September but as others have said - possible that it may be later.

  • 876161101 - 876161867

LMAO theres no way these guys are getting their orders on 19th/22nd of October. Maybe November-December that I can bet 100% on. Their orders are about less then or around 100-150 a month. I'll get my 3080 before this monitor :)

    • It depends on whether Dell gets 1000 of these units at the end of September (that was their plan). Essentially, if they are on a ship already, then there is a chance most people will get theirs. If they are not on a ship yet, then people will probably get their 3080/3070/3090 before the monitor.

    • I'm starting to think the wait for this monitor is no longer worth it if its gonna take until November to fulfill everything

    • Oof. Just realised my order sits in there.
I really wish I had've purchased two - I only purchased one as it was so new and not entirely tested by consumers, had no idea there would be such a wait.
Hopefully as above, they have a deal once they get stock levels back up as well and if it's a solid monitor then I'll get a second to replace my 1080p.

Mwave has these for $799 but out of stock due to "experiencing high demand."

  • +1
  • Anyone who is still waiting or missed this, once stock comes back price should be similar I reckon around 550

Also this is same spec for 528 out soon,

    https://www.centrecom.com.au/gigabyte-g27q-27-qhd-144hz-1ms-...

Had 350 VS 400 brightness and
    92% DCI-P3 VS 98 on dell.

We should be getting comparable monitors around that price range more commonly

    • +2

That's also only 144Hz compared the 165Hz of the Dell

  • I want one of these so bad.

  • With the announcement of the new Nvidia 360hz reflex monitors, would it lower the price of 144hz monitors? Was hoping I can future-proof with these monitor…

  • My Dell Customer Service rep has reported an ETA of 22/11, despite my order page saying 22/10 (My order was confirmed on 01/08 at 6pm). And when I asked why order page ETAs haven't been updated and why orders are not being sent out FIFO I got a canned response that gave me no answers and then another (non-canned) response in terrible English that also didn't answer my questions after I highlighted the fact that they didn't answer any of them.

I escalated it to their "ANZ Care Team Lead", and I got a canned response which again, didn't answer any of my questions. And then the follow up response when I highlighted my questions not being answered for a third time said that they ARE filling orders on a FIFO basis and WILL update me if the ETA changes, despite the fact that I showed them a graph of a large amount of orders that were 2 days later from 03/08 being delivered already, and the fact that every ETA I have heard so far from the Dell site is 22/10 not 22/11.

    • Sorry to hear that,

what is your order number? if you don;t mind

As the next batch ordered on the 1/8 was shipped out today

      • My order number is 876160829.
Just checked my order page and it is marked as shipped as of today! ETA is now 17/09, perfect timing for 30 series if I can get my hands on any stock.

Just another proof that Dell Customer Service has NO IDEA what the (profanity) they are talking about. There is a clear breakdown of communication somewhere between the different departments.

Either its a horrible breakdown of communication internally, or the support centre staff are on drugs.

        • LMAO you got it first then the guy who had the order number of 822 just above you.

Dw I ordered 02/08 at 3AM and its still all mombo jumbo

          • @HeyHeyHeyIsItADeal: Guy above is 161822, mine is 160829, 993 orders earlier haha

Hopefully a whole bunch will come in end of September, there is supposed to be 1000 units coming in on the 28th or something, it was posted earlier in this thread.

Is anyone signed up to the rtings insider program to see this review?
    https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/dell/s2721dgf

  • +6

Here is the response time tableI find from rtings server:

    fast: https://i.rtings.com/images/reviews/monitor/dell/s2721dgf/s2...
    superfast: https://i.rtings.com/images/reviews/monitor/dell/s2721dgf/s2...
    extreme: https://i.rtings.com/images/reviews/monitor/dell/s2721dgf/s2...

I will say that is awsome, the may Issue of this monitor I guess is contrast, my copy I test with spyder 5 is around 600, but for my experience isn't that bad, so may because spyder 5 isn't good for test contrast.
the other detail should wait for rting to release

    • +1

also for them, they recommend fast for overdrive setting, but according to my copy, superfast is the best overdrive setting, almost no motion blur and can't see any overshoot during the ufo test (1920 pixel/s), and I capture this use a 960fps slow-motion camera with superfast overdrive setting, may because the copy different.

      • how the heck did you guys even see the review?

        • +1

          just some little trick😉

  • -1

Mine got pushed back to the original 19/10. Was updated a while back to 30/9. Not happy

    • What was your order number?

      • 162609

        • I'm 161709 and they told me I'd receive it on the last of Sep too. It doesn't seem like you're in the next batch of 800 units unfortunately seeing as they're shipping to people around order 160800-160900ish

    • -2

No one was going to get it this month though lmao. I also highly doubt EVERYONE is getting their order in October as well. Which I am in and I still doubt I'll get my order. Between 02/08 and the end of 02/08 IS LITERALLY 700-1000 orders. They said they're going to fill up all the August orders (ordered 3am) in the second week of October but how? They've been getting 100 or less shipments each day. Sometimes even only 5 a day.

      • 800 units is expected to arrive by the 25/9 so most of the 2/8 orders will be fulfilled. The previous shipments were only 64 and 176ish batches so this is a lot more at least.

        • Them getting 800units is pretty nice but they're not doing them in order? So all orders on 02/08 will be fulfilled? highly doubt it but Im hoping. I do want my order :)

      • Nothing against you personally, but I'm sooooo damned happy this was wrong in my case :P

Hope they've shipped yours too though!

        • So you ordered on 02/08 and got it? Daam Im happy that I was wrong but are you the only one so far :L?

YES MINE SHIPPED! FINALLY! Im glad I was wrong haha :)

  • They're not fulfilling in order of the number, I'm 876166239 (paypal didn't work and then it took them a day to take payment and finalise the order) and I got the email about receiving my monitor by 30/09.

    • LMAO same. I just realised that its not when you ORDERED but when you PAID.

Ordered 02/08 3am but others who ordered after but their order numbers are lower than mine.

  • +2

for some of us, at this stage, it feels like buying a car. the long wait and the occasional order status check

  • -3

come on dell, what a false hopes
pushed back to the original 19/10 without any email.

  • Just got it delivered!! Order number 876160856

The estimated delivery was 19th October till 3 days back.

    • Seems like you were the last order to be shipped. The next one is 876160861 still stuck on confirmed

      so you got lucky :]

NVM LOL they shipped out 876160862 - 876160866 but skipped the guy who ordered before him 876160861

My one is 876161867 literally 1000 order away from yours and they said theyll fill it all out by 2nd of October haha. November it is then I guess.

      • It's been a roller coaster of emotions. One day got email from US that will be shipped 9th Sep instead of of 19th Oct. Got all excited and saw the order page didn't update.

The sales rep confirmed that it's due 19th Oct and I can cancel if I want.

Yesterday got a notification from AusPost that a parcel has been picked up from Dell. No email update from Dell. Went to the order page and it had been shipped.

Wierd how these are being fulfilled.

  • Just got mine delivered today too! Very happy with it so far :) It was EST. 19/10 delivery

    • Awesome! Did you get any update email saying it was coming sooner? And was your order # lower or higher than TheFastandFrugal's (876160856).

I'm still holding out hope that it will be a late Sept delivery lol.

  • My order is in the low 900s. Received an estimate a few weeks ago of 23/9, no update on the tracking info, still in production.

    • if its 01/08 then you will get it if its 02/08 your order is 100% getting delayed.

  • Got mine today too! Order number 876160824. The latest updated delivery estimation was for the 9/9. Didn't get an email or anything before it arrived.

  • +3

My order number ends in 3074. Pray for me fellas.

  • my order (876160837) was delivered today, i did not get an update email but i did reach out to them and was first told it would arrive on or before 6/9 but was pushed back to mid september, gl to all who is still waiting

  • I had mine yesterday 16/09/2020 the delivery date was 19/10/2020 … unfortunately my unite had an issue which there is some pixels glowing with read light only when I run a video especially if the video has some dark images… did anyone of you had the same problem with the monitor?

    https://imgur.com/cHidvSL

    https://imgur.com/undefined

    • +1

Looks like bright pixels. It's a form of dead pixel that is considered acceptable by most monitor manufacturers. Is it only when there's video? If so it might not be bright pixels but rather an issue with your GPU or cable. I'd try a different cable if you have one. Otherwise I'd contact Dell and request a replacement.

      • The cable is HDMI the same that cam in the box I looks ok, But I plugged the monitor to a laptop with Intel graphics I do know if that will bring such an issue? the laptop display don't have such a problem tho.

Yes it is only appears when I run a video and there is a lot of these pixels. did not try it on games yet but I do not thing its worth it if its has a this problem in video.

        • +2

http://lcdtech.info/en/tests/dead.pixel.htm try using this site to check and then report back

        • If it is Intel graphics, you might want to drop the refresh rate to 60Hz, test with the dead pixel page and slowly ramp up the refresh rate.

If there is still issues, provide more details about the laptop (including the exact model of the mobile CPU and if possible the actual embedded Intel graphics chip).

  • Thanks bro, I already did that test yesterday on the site and some programs, did not seen an issue or any dead pixels but the issue is there when I run a video as you can see in the pictures so it is confusing!

  • +3

Was doing my daily jump on and have a look at where my order is sitting and it's changed to shipped now.

No update to my date/notification of shipping or even tracking.

    Order 1770

    • In 1300s range, also shipped!

      • My order number is in the 876160XXX range and has not updated to shipped yet.

My "Track My Order" page lists Estimated Delivery Date: 19/10/2020 (updated)

An email I received at the end of August from US_DELL_NOTIFY said The updated estimated date of delivery of your order is around 9/23/2020

My original order was placed and payment confirmed between 8pm and 9pm on the 1st of August.

    • So jealous, 1153 and not shipped :(

      • Update: Mine just changed the shipped!

    • My order is also showing shipped

But my order number is in the 2500s?

Same as above, no notification except for the email updating to 30 September shipping

  • Mine has also shipped - #1700's range.
