[Preorder] Xbox Series X $399 ($329 with Level 4 EB World) ($749 without) When You Trade in Your Xbox One X @ EB Games

3455

I reckon this is an amazing deal.

Make sure you select click and collect on the website when you preorder to get this offer.

Preorders commence online on 22nd September

Alternatively, you can get the Series S version for $299 when you trade in your Xbox One S but no one would want a stovetop.

EB world is eligible for this offer so if you are on level 4, that’s $420 off the console price itself

Note: Confirmation from EB Games rep If you place an online preorder for collection in store, you don't have to trade in until release day. Which means you can secure this deal and still use your Xbox One X until release day.

                        • @Danstar: That's interesting, mine has had out of stock the entire time. I still think youll get one, as I mentioned this morning I wasn't able proceed to make payment as they were out of stock, but you were able to.

                          • @eggaz: Must've just got lucky. Hopefully you get one in the next round

                            • @Danstar: Thanks, I was able to snag one from Big W when they went live with pre orders.

          • @Valowick: From ms site.

Series X is in hot demand right now. Please expect delays as we aim to ship your order by November 30th, 2020.

            • @eggaz: Hmmm I wanted it by 1st December for a present But I'll take that

        • Success! Just keep clicking "Place order"

    • dangit, been refreshing since 8-10ish. went away for a break… and saw your comment..

  • Amazon's the only retailer left who is yet to open pre orders?

  • So is the trade-in deal finished/exhausted?

    • +1

Trade in deal is for when you pick up the item from nominated store so obviously will not work for home delivery and also they said they will honor the trade in deal till 31st Jan

      • Ah, so the deal is pay your $200 deposit now and when stock is ready, go in-store with Xbox One X, receive trade in value and pay the difference?

        • +1

Yes that's how it works so on the series X the residual would be $199 after deposit. $350 is what you would get for your XB1x

          • @[Deactivated]: I read that the trade in deal works for any console preorder not just Xbox series X, is that correct? Was planning on trading my Xbox One X to fund my PS5 preorder with EB since I couldn't get a Series X one from EB

            • +1

@merajaan: I don't know if you will get the same value when buying something else, you would have to call them to verify, anytime I have spoken to them they weren't very helpful.
Given we really don't know the TnCs they are really playing with fire and ACCC should be notified.

  • +1

Hmmm maybe the Bethesda acquistion is driving up launch sales :D Seriously though that is massive news when you consider the IP Microsoft owns now from this deal (Fallout, Skyrim, Doom, Wolfenstein, the weird and wonderful output from Tango Studios etc) and takes Gamepass to a whole new level

    • After owning the last 3 generations of Xbox, I'm seriously considering PS5 this time. There always seems to be just enough PS exclusive titles that I'm interested in that I never get to play.

      • Yeah im on that as well. Realy dislike the PS4 GUI though. Adding players etc is ugly

        • I've never owned a PS. Also not into online/multiplayer games so not too fussed with that side of things thankfully.

  • +4

Target must be nervous AF right now lol

  • +6

And now EB games is saying 3pm wtf

  • +2

What BS is this, the EB counter just had another 3 hrs put on it.

  • I'm not too concerned about getting it on launch day, happy to wait.. Just wondering if I can go instore to put $200 down on a xbox series x and lock in the trade-in deal? Would I have to trade my console in then, or can I wait like has been said when ordering for launch day, till new stock arrives? I can't immediately see this question being answered and just throwing it out there in case others have been in to EB already and missed out on the initial launch stock. Thanks!

    • +2

There is no in store stock, this is strictly online ordering only.

  • Eb games have now delayed next pre order, and have updated post launch shipment 2020.

  • +2

Wait, did they put the next round of pre-orders up before midday? Wasn't that when it was counting down to?

edit: Oh, right, they just changed it to 3pm. Right, I've had enough being messed around by EB. Screw them.

    • +1

I was able to get one from Big W, there are a lot of unhappy EB Games customers at the moment, me included.

  • +3

EB Games title changed from 'Launch Day' to 'Post Launch Shipments (arriving 2020)'

Release date also changed from 12 November to TBC 2020. Guess that explains them adding 3 hours to the timer.

edit: it's changed again to 'Expected 2020'. Bugger that!

    • Pretty sure EB games is ran by Trump administration.

      • You are very original with your joke attempt

      • If they were they'd be winning…

  • NEG NEG NEG NEG NEG NEG

  • +2

Came in for the midday shit show and notice its been postponed

  • +1

More time added on the clock for the bots to lock and load again!

    • Maybe more time added to allow for "website upgrading"?

      • Nah. It'll still poop it's pants. Nobody should keep falling for it at this point.

      • That would be nice.

  • +1

why is it so hard to spend my bloody money? none of the other console releases have ever been this difficult!

    • +1

      My thoughts too!

Not like I've got a car waiting to be fixed or anything

    • Pandemic and all that

      • yeah i get that - its more the frustration of bullshit websites/vague updates & general communication difficulties. There won't be many kids getting surprise Chrissy presents from grandparents this year unless they're running sick bot farms/quicker than the 99.9% on the trigger.

  • Stuff EB with their constant time changes, had one in the cart at 8am est and couldn't pay, sick of EB's run around, tried Microsoft store 10 min ago and snagged one, not ideal as I wanted to trade in last gen gear but the whole shamozzle is getting ridiculous

    • for real?? how you got one from ms??? ive been trying.

      • Microsoft are staggering their pre-orders.

        https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/store/configure/Xbox-Series-…

Refresh every now and then. I got one too.

        • Thanks for the link. So when it's available. you would see "in-stock" on that box?

Mine has been on my cart since morning. Been trying to pay but all I got is error please try again…

          • @Ch Rs: No you just don't see "Out of Stock"

Checked it right now. It's seems you can buy it at the moment. But it's really intermittent.

            • @Valowick: nah still showing out of stock for me. I have got one on my cart. So been pressing that "place order" button every minute. lol

        • +3

I did this too, refreshed a few times and then [ add to cart ] appeared like magic.
          Ordered.
Now I can go enjoy the rest of my day ffs

          • +2

@Arcticfox: thanks. Imma hit this button like a mofo now.

            • @Ch Rs: hit the button like a lunatic now the xbox gone missing from my cart lol dangit..

        • Missed the one from EB but finally got one from MS. Thanks for the tips! :)

          • @Ch Rs: You legend! Tried non-stop with EB. Microsoft was easy in comparison. At least their checkout works.

    • +1

Buy outright and sell your Xbox One personally. Facebook, Ebay or something. There's better options than feeding the EB beast.

      • Oops, replied to this comment but then you edited it and my comment made no sense lol.

  • I think it's safe to say 2020 will go down on the gaming history books as one of the hardest time to preorder a console ever

    • +1

2020 the year of the leeches.

Toilet paper with the C19 pandemic now things designed to take the edge off the pandemic, well done human race, you win…

      • +3

        2020 motto: "Got mine."

  • I missed out this morning - went through checkout within 15 seconds from 'go live' and had the same issues many of you did despite repeated attempts. The system fell over completely. Well done to anyone who got an order through.

The experience annoyed me, so undecided if I'll jump in for the next batch. Who am I kidding - I probably will… ;)

    • yep trash website - my order fell over in the checkout process as well.

  • +1

I'm betting the 10 or so that EB had on offer were scooped up by EB employees and eBayed shortly thereafter as was the case with Mwave with the RTX 3080 FE cards. Understandable given they only make $2 an hour but still

  • +2

I think I had success with EB Games.

Order confirmation lost connection on the page, but email received at 8:01 and payment taken from my account.

  • I was thinking $750 is too much for a console and not many people are going to buy this. Now I think, Sony & Microsoft could have set the price at $1000 and still it would have sold out. Damn..

All the games I have are working fine on PS4 Pro and XBox One X. Other than losing the resale value of these consoles, Am I missing anything else? I was thinking to take up this deal because both of my consoles are 2.5 yrs old. They might pack up anytime. So, I thought of this as a chance to get another year warranty :).

If I miss 3 o clock one, then I will be placed into 2021 batch. Ebgames will then offer $120 for my consoles. :D

    • +1

Nah $750 is a good price, if it had been $1000 I wouldn't have bothered.

    • As it stands, the 3pm stock is only 'expected 2020', so you may be placed into a 2021 batch anyway

  • +1

Screw it, I just ordered 2x from Telstra. Simple, easy, got confirmation 2nd Wave delivery emails and no problems.

Downside….now I have to sell my Xbox x s' privately.

Hmmm 48 months of Xbox ultimate access not sure it will top up with my current one ending 7/22 lol……

Good Luck people in 2 hours.

    • I was curious as to whether the 24month GamePass subscription included in the plan would apply to existing subscriptions

      • I read somewhere, they will provide a 24 months code, so it should work as a normal top up I guess.

        • +1

Just don't apply the code until you have under 12 months remaining as you can only stack 36 months

    • +1

That is what I have done.

  • Noticed EB games logged me out, and is now "DDOS attack" proofed.

  • WTF when did target launch the pre-orders?? why gizmodo said it's sold out?

    https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2020/09/xbox-seriesx-pre-order-au…

    • True….maybe staff bought them all lol

  • Can the same trade credit be obtained ($420 with Level 4) for just trading in my Xbox One X without getting a Series X? I managed to get one through Microsoft. I live in a remote area of Victoria so can't be bothered trying to sell it privately.

    • may I know when did you get it?

      • About 8:20am.

    • +1

Unfortunately the trade in credit for ps4 pro is $300 and xbox one x is $350 base towards a next gen pre order only.

If not it will be less, not sure by how much though.

I just found out from ebgames anyway, so I will be trading my xbox one x with ps4 pro for $650 x1.? (depends on your ebworld)

Mines $812.50 which is super neat as it covers the cost for the ps5 console.

      • So next-gen preorder meaning towards a PS5 or Xbox Series X? Did you get that info from their staff as it doesn't specify in the T&C's. I'm planning on trading my Xbox One X for my PS5 preorder with EB Games (only if it's at that $350 base trade in price + EB World Level) as I couldn't get a Series X from them

        • +1

yes next gen as in PS5 and Xbox Series X.

info from Macquarie Centre EB Games.

      • Oh that's good to know, thanks. I managed to snag a PS5 so I'll just trade my PS4 Pro and Xbox One X towards that. Hopefully they'll refund the $200 deposit seeing as they'll cover the console :).

    • Was wondering the same…Although I'm looking to selling a Minecraft Xbox S, which can go for about 300-400 on ebay

    • +1

Won't let me add to cart. Assume already sold out.

    • aaaaaand. its gone

      • I searched Target 2 mins after this was posted and nothing but somehow there was something? haha their search is broke :(

        • +1

It's not on their website; link is there but can't pure order.. could be sold out already

          • +1

@Danstar: Probably listed without having any units just to laugh at us

      • how many are u buying ? or should i say how much are you selling them for? just curious

        • 1 million to answer both your questions ;) ;)

          • +1

            @Danstar: Bank account details please…

          • @Danstar: Ozbargain's first trillionaire.

          • @Danstar: well clearly u posted u have at least one and are clearly still looking for more, so why not say?

            • @petry: Cos 1 is not guaranteed to come before xmas or even guaranteed to come at all.. If i do manage to get a second one ill gladly sell it to someone on here for the same price i bought it at :)

              • +1

                @Danstar: shotgun lol

                • @Ch Rs: Haha..I shouldn't have said that yet cos I'll probably get getting DMs now…and can't delete my comment :|

                  • @Danstar: holyjebuzz i just got mine from ms store. Been hitting the place order button since morning and finally got one!! but my shotgun still stands yea??? HAHA
