  • How do I get for a Xbox one X?

    • Trade?

      • +2

        Yes I'm half a sleep.

How much do I get in store credit if I give them my Xbox one X for a ps5 $749

        • +4

          Probably go back to sleep

        • its on the ebgames sites, you can trade it seprataly or sell marketplace or gumtree

Xbox One X 1TB – $350 level 1 and with level 2,3,4 you get more

        • Probably the same trade value as in the Series X deal.

  • Are EB guaranteed to give you the full $300 or will they knock value off if 'not in perfect condition'?

    • They'll test to see if it's working. Scuffs and the like won't be a big problem.

If by not perfect you mean it's smashed, well, good luck.

    • +2

EB will then sell your PS4 second hand for $450.

  • That's cool that the preorders are live, Don't forget your EB card level may get you a better trade in value, I have a Level 4 card and was told I got $420 for my xbox one X as a trade against the Series X.

  • I don't know how things are doing right now, but PS4 Pro used prices were crazy a couple of months ago when they were sold out in stores. I managed to get just under $500 for mine even after eBay/Paypal's fees when I sold it in July. I'm sure you'd get more than $300 if you sold privately, but then if you just want an easy trade-in and peace of mind this is nothing to sneeze at either.

    • -1

yeah i got $700 for one of my pros few months back… now i will post my 5.05 firmware Pro. - that will should command a higher price then the normal 300 to 400 range.

  • Pre ordered!

  • Oh man, I wish I could use my ps slim to trade for ps5 non digital version

    • You probably can. It’s still a trade

  • Can you trade a ps4 slim for the non-digital version of the ps5?

    • Of course you can

What they give is another story.

    • Yeah the prices are just indicators and represent the typical upgrade path they’d expect. Makes more sense with the Xbox Series S/X deal in my opinion.

  • +11

Told myself I wasn't even going to consider pre-ordering. Don't think my fingers got the message as I'm a bit lighter in the pocket now…

    • +2

Literally the same thing happened. It was like I lost control..

      • I'll probably try and sell my PS4 Pro in the next month or so, prices seem to be floating around the $400-$450 mark at the moment.

        • Wouldn't be surprised if they drop now that most people would be planning to do the same thing lol.

          • @MitchyD1989: This… also, ps5 stock shortages will be inevitable. PS4 Pro will start to drop value very soon.

            • @[Deactivated]: Yeah definitely. I pre-ordered just to make sure I'll have one guaranteed on release day lol. And even if I don't sell it myself beforehand, $300 (potentially more w/ EB World bonuses too) without having to deal with lowballers etc is still a good deal to me.

          • +1

@MitchyD1989: I sold my PS4 Pro $600 with an extra controller (no games) two weeks ago. I think there was a stock shortage around that time as everywhere was sold out.

It's going towards the PS5 lol

            • @Ebaygiftcards: That's insane lol, nice work. I'd try sell mine myself but I still want to play it in the meantime while I wait for my PS5 haha.

              • @MitchyD1989: Yeah, but the longer you hold it, the less you will get given PS5 pre-order has now opened.

Is there a list of PS4 games that's backwards compatible with the PS5?

  • Does Amazon have preorders up?

    • +1

Not yet. But with how they have been with pre orders lately you will most likely get it a few days after launch

      • -3

Not true, got my pre-ordered game on release day

        • +1

When was that, Covid has been doing serious delays to them. They even warn you.

        • +2

          How is it not true?

Since Covid I have not got one game on release. Go and look at other threads as well about pre-orders..

        • Depends where you are and which warehouse it ships from. I've bought a couple things in the last week or so that came from Melbourne warehouse, still arrived the next day. But my last pre-order was sent on the 5th (from Sydney instead and a day after the release date for some reason) and I'm still waiting for it.

        • before Coronavirus yes on release day but Not anymore. Because of Coronavirus. My last 3 games that I pre-orderd did not come at release day they were 1 to 2 working days late

        • I just got an email saying my pre order of Mario 3d All Stars got delayed by a few days and wont be recieved on release date.

          • @Vinodra: They did that to me with Tony Hawk, but at least you got it in advance lol, I didn't get that email until the day it was due to arrive. Decided I wouldn't take that risk again so I pre-ordered Mario 3D for pickup from JB instead.

      • Is EB Games going to be better unless you pick it in a store? Last time, I have ordered something from EB Games, it took them three days to ship it, and then another five days for AUS Post to deliver it.

  • So basically $300 trade in value for a PS4 Pro. Not bad but I thought it was $350 at EB quite recently (like a month ago)… which is interesting because EB are still offering the same $350 trade in value on Xbox One X.

    • I assume this is before eb world level

      • Back in August 2020 when I traded in it was $350 for a PS4 Pro before EB World bonus (so it came to like $390ish? as a Level 2 member). Same trade in value for Xbox One X 1TB.

So in other words, it seems the trade in values for PS4 Pro has dropped by $50 whereas Xbox One X has remained consistent (at least based on their current promotion of $399 changeover price before EB world bonus/discount.

        • XboneX is a more powerful console. I assume that's why

  • pre-ordered! thanks!

  • done thank you.

  • Done thanks for the early heads up

  • Will this release price be locked in across the board or will places like JB knock $50 off instead of doing trade ins?

I wont be trading in my PS4 (will hand me down to the kids) but am wondering whether to jump on their preorder or just hold out to see what other places bring it out for.

    • +1

Unlikely to get $50 knocked off the preorder price anywhere

  • +4

    It was;
    PS4 Pro 1TB $350 (lv1)$385 (lv2)$402.50 (lv3)$420 (lv4)$437.50

    Xbox One X 1TB $350 (lv1)$385 (lv2)$402.50 (lv3)$420 (lv4)$437.50

    Now only $300 :(

    • Yeh I was wondering that… I'm L4 and was going to see if I trade it in now if I get more for it…

      • So they've actually dropped the trade in price to $300 if you were to trade in the console today? Or only as part of the trade in/preorder deal?

Might be worth checking if they'll give you an extra $50 to trade today, rather than on release (assuming you can go without the console for a while!)

Personally I'd take an extra $50 today for the same thing, but I already traded my PS4 pro during the starlight deal.

What about the Nathan Drake's final adventure: Uncharted 4 PS4 limited idition how much for trade in?

    • +7

      Buck fiddy

    • 50 cents Edit: previous comment wasnt there before I refreshed lol.

    • It was $5.10 back in June (when I traded in mine - recalculated to remove the EB World level bonus). There is no benefit trading in limited edition (because they cannot check and don't care about the other goodies).

The price is likely to be even lower now that it is confirmed to be a title in PS Plus Collection.

      • +1

I mean the console limited edition.

        • +1

Sell it on gumtree or ebay instead, you will get way more.

        • If selling on gumtree or ebay doesn't work, CeX offers $230 cash for them.

        • No difference to standard edition for console trade in.

  • +4

I told myself to hold out for next revision and stop being an early adopter. I'm $200 lighter in pocket now.

    • +7

Buy now and then sell by Christmas for more than you paid. Literally having your cake and eating it.

    • +1

Lol this. Especially since there isn't any worthy launch titles. But then I found sackboy is available on launch. Couldn't resist the pre order.

      • You can also play the ps4 games on it, can't you?

        • +2

You can but they still haven't guaranteed that all PS4 games will work on PS5, so some people are holding off because of that.

      • Cyberpunk 2077 is released a week later. Not technically a launch title and also works on PS4 but can't pass up the opportunity to experience that for the first time on next gen.

  • +2

do we have a confirmation if they will trade original/vanilla/launch PS4?

    • Lower trade value, but yes they will trade OG PS4. Not sure what the value is at the moment and if there's any bonuses on it though.

  • Hi I preordered the normal one and picked home deilvery which is just standed.. is that express? anyone know how ebgames do pre order consoles?
and I could not use my gift card so i have a 300 gift card lol..

    • Bad luck, you should've selected pick up so you can pay by gift cards on the spot.

      • +2

I dont want to travel that far. if the rule is still there and get in trouble. im in vic….

    • Was this a eb games giftcard?

  • When you pre order now? Do you notify them of what you’re trading in?

    • +2

AFAIK - You just pre-order and pay the deposit (you can't pay over $200 for the console itself anyways) and choose 'Click & Collect' option.
On the day just turn up to your store with your trade-ins and complete the transaction.

      • What if then your console is not eligible for trade in, can you cancel and get your $200 deposit back?

        • +1

          Bingo.

  • Got my $200 deposit in my local store. Just woke up. Glad I beat the rush. Thanks OP.

    USA launch price = $499 USD. 1 AUD = 0.730807 USD Rough conversion is $682 AUD. Now I can understand rounding up to $700, but $750? That's a rip-off.

    • +9

US Prices doesnt include GST remember 499 + 49 sales tax 548 USD = 749.98 AUD, so we are actually getting it at the exact price it shuld be.

    • +1

      Sales tax in America

      GST in Australia

Still not quite a 1:1 conversion but similar.

      • GST is included in the display price in Oz

Sales tax is added to the display price in US

    • +2

      10% GST -> AU$682 = AU$750

    • +3

Add on 10% GST and it's bang on $750. This is a rare situation where we actually aren't getting shafted on price for new consoles.

    • now add GST

    • add GST

    • GST, freight, blah blah

    • Price (ex GST) is $681.82

We get 8 cents cheaper than US before tax.

You need to also take State Tax in to account, and varies state by state. I know it's not applicable same sellers but it's now widely applied unlike quite some time ago many didn't charged tax for online purchase.

    • Add the 10% GST and it's $750ish, USA prices never have the sales tax in them.

    • Apparently you need to also factor in GST to your calculations

    • +1

How are we still having these conversations

    • +4

      Just very lots

    • +1

You don’t know the gaming world very well. Could have been $1000.
Fan boys and girls and all in between will be fan boys and girls.

    • +2

Dont kid yourself, these are going to sell out even if they cost more.

    • It’s already sold out at EB Games… less than 2hrs… sure, they didn’t intend to sell lots.

  • +1

Wake me up when the price for the version with disk and without trade in is south of $500.

Too expensive at present, particularly when the economy is shot via covid.

    • +6

Ok I will wake you up in 2 years maybe 3

      • Actually I would suggest by next Christmas.

        AU$500 = AU$450 (ex GST) = US$319

However the US/AU exchange rate is likely to change in the meanwhile as the US covid and other screwups come home.
